We finally tried Thai Bamboo and was very happy with the food and the pricing. We had been going to Bangkok Thai because its much closer to us, but the crab fried rice my Fiance gets is $25 there which is absurd! Its $10 cheaper at Thai Bamboo which is great. They also offer a rewards program where you get money back after you spend a certain amount. And most importantly, the food was just as good. I get Panang Curry with fried tofu, Pad Ke Mao with no eggs and no meat, and he had the crab fried rice. We'll be back :) read more

Oh my goodness! I haven't appreciated Thai food before this visit to Washington & Idaho but this restaurant serves dishes that are are real taste bud treats. Visited the Idaho and 1 Spokane location and consultancy is apparent. Service was exceptional and the dinning areas are spotless. This place is a real winner! I used to love Thai Bamboo but this location has really ruined it for me... I tried to order pork phad see ew, 0 star, mixed veggies instead of noodles. (Not my usual but I was feeling sick and wanted something bland) I take it home and it is 2 stars, no meat. Even if I only wanted vegetables they didn't even cook enough to make a full serving! It was barely a side. I couldn't eat it because I was trying to avoid spice since I was sick. The waiter got the order wrong and the cook thought it was acceptable to serve me a cup of vegetables for $16. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm honestly more upset with the cook than anybody. After driving by this place for a long time, my wife and I decided to stop in during restaurant week. It was at the $ 18 level. My wife went with the spring rolls, red curry (3/5 hot), and black rice sticky pudding. I chose the crab rangoon, cashew chicken (3/5 hot), and fried bananas! Our server was Amy, who was awesome. She checked in with us enough, but not too much. She kept our drinks full and was very pleasant the entire time we were there! Appetizers: the crab Rangoon was delicious! They are definitely worth trying. Spring roles were a little bland, but hey - that's what the delicious sauce is for. We probably wouldn't get them again though. Entree: I'm not much for curry, but my wife said it was very good. The 3/5 heat was good. Spicy enough, but not too hot. My cashew chicken was really good. I like spicy, but I ordered 3/5 and added chilli paste to heat it up. I'd definitely recommend it! Desert: the fried bananas were really good, drizzled with some carmel. It's basically a mini spring role filled with banana. Try them, you won't be disappointed! My wife loved the black sticky rice pudding. I decided to give Thai bamboo another try at their new location, after some pretty poor experiences at the old spot. The service was great, but the food not so much. Thai bamboo is the Olive Garden of Thai food. It's ok, but you can tell most of it prepared ahead of time before you order it. Thai food is supposed to taste fresh. Other Thai places in town have much better lunch specials. The pad Thai on the lunch special here is only noodles, no protein or vegetables. Blah. The fresh rolls also don't have protein other than tofu. Poor value for the price. read more

We visited this place on a visit to Spokane and got take out that we ordered on the phone. We wrote down the numbers from the menu to order and somehow must have gotten them confused as we ended up getting two large combos instead of a plate and a combo. It worked out though, but was a bit pricier. The lady was patiently annoyed with me on the phone while I asked questions, but took the order fine. When we picked it up, she had trouble making change and did not give us a receipt. She kept trying to give back the wrong amount. The food was amazing though. It tasted so good! We followed the spice chart and got the level we wanted, since my sister was not a fan of spice. It ended up feeding almost five people, the two combo orders. We will for sure visit again! read more

We have eaten off and on at this restaurant over the years and they just keep getting worse and worse. The flavors used to have nuance and layers. It use to resemble some of the best Thai food, even contended with Seattle, but not anymore. Now many dishes taste like chicken noodle soup, with no spices or flavor, just salt. I would suggest not ordering online on a Friday night during "Stay Home Stay Safe" period. Made an order at 5:42 p.m. with instructions to pick up at 6:45 p.m. Sure. It's busy period of time. Understandable. Showed up for pick up and was told it's be another 25 minutes. Went back in at 7:10 p.m. and inquired. Didn't get a response and waited...and waited..and waited. Didn't get out the door until 7:58 p.m. There were other things that were frustrating about the experience. Besides the wait, no refund or percentage was taken off the order, no drinks or apps were offered for the wait, and, most shocking of all, no apology was given. Had a large group to celebrate a special occasion with 4 generations of family. Thai Bamboo has a lovely dining room, but we needed a banquet room for our crowd of 30. Reserved it and ordered food in advance, without having seen the banquet room. The room was beautiful and perfect for our celebration! They even had crayons and place-mats to color and keep the little's interested, as did the fun decorations and the large display with scenes from Thailand. The service was exceptional, the food was ready and super delicious with something for everyone. We had a Meet Up group yesterday on 29th Ave, with 22 people and were kindly seated in the banquet room. We were there for happy hour (daily from 3-6) but some of us ordered the restaurant week special and some had a regular menu. He remembered what everybody ordered and I forgot to mention that most of us were single and needed separate checks. He was outstanding in getting it all right. One of our favorite places to go in a pinch, the South Hill Thai Bamboo provides the same menu as the north side location, only with 150% less crazy outside decor. The menu is huge, but we usually stick to a few favorites. Namely, Spring Rolls, Tofu Pad Thai, Fried Rice and anything with curry in it. We always have enough for dinner the next day, which is great because we are usually too lazy to cook at least twice a week! read more

You should immediately feel welcomed by the fantastic ambiance: wood carvings, gold statutes, a fountain. The curries and rice dishes are all fantastic. We've visited the Thai Bamboo Restaurant three times now, all visits have been dine in, and for dinner - and have been delighted by their varied menu and great service. Most important the food has been teriffic. Having lived around the country in mostly larger cities that Spokane, we were itching to find a good Thai place that wasn't too far a drive from our home - and BINGO, we found it with Thai Bamboo Restaurant. We love their black/tan rice, and found the various curries and fish dishes to be excellent.
