This is my 4th time in this particular restaurant since i love thai food o love to come here from time to time. Firstly; the food is pretty good but not excellent compare to other thai restaurents. Secondly: the service was good i will give them that, they checked on our table many times and made sure we were ok however they forgot one of the item which didnt arrive til the end of the meal. Thai tea was a little watered-down and a little over sweeter then other places. The thing i didnt like anout this restaurant is they included the tips on our check without telling us we were 4 adults and 3 toddlers who didnt order nor eat much. I was going to put 20% tips but they included 18% gratuity and they forgot one of the dishes. The service was good in a way and honestly cant complain but they should tell me its included. read more

I came here on a Friday afternoon with my coworkers (five of us total). There is plenty of seating inside, we were seated immediately with no wait. There is a lunch option available on weekdays for $13.50 (before tax and tip) that includes an appetizer or soup, an entree and a drink. The drink options available are one soda, hot tea or iced tea (no refills). I ordered - Appetizer: Curry Puff - This appetizer comes with four pieces and a sweet dipping sauce. I like the crunchiness of the puff and the curry filling is decent. - Entree - Green Curry with Chicken (comes with rice, brown rice i an extra $1.50 charge) - The green curry was runny and lacked flavor... the chicken lacked flavor as well. The bamboo seemed under cooked, it was tough to chew. This was one of the worst green curry dishes I have tried. - Drink - Thai Iced Tea - Here is my warning to anyone that comes here, Thai Iced Tea is not included in the lunch special. It would have been nice if the waiter had told me since I said I was ordering the LUNCH SPECIAL -_- On top of the disappointing food, tip is automatically applied... my guess is for parties of five or larger is their policy here. Is a party of five considered a large party? It has been my experience that this is usually applied for parties of six and larger... but it is what it is, now I know their policy here. I really enjoy Thai food especially on Fridays so I decided to try this place out passing by Silver Spring area. From my knowledge this place is a chain of Thai at Laurel (not sure which came first). Anyways, went in and got a seat very quickly which was nice. The menu has bunch of different Thai foods and they all sound delicious. The interior is nice and simple but has a "royal" feeling to it. They also have a full bar here. Another plus is that the tables aren't so cramped and too close to one another. Despite the variety on the menu, I had to go with Pad Thai with Chicken and peanuts on the side, fried calamari, and Tom Yum Mushroom soup. The Pad Thai was very good, had the right amount of flavor (some places make it very strong) and the noodles were soft but chewy. The chicken in it though was a bit dry and tough, but it still tasted pretty good. The fried calamari was very good (a bit greasy though) especially with the sweet chili sauce. Loved it. I am not a big fan of the soup though because it's pretty sour and I don't really enjoy sour food. The price wasn't terrible either, of course, Thai food isn't always cheap but this was reasonable for the amount of food we got. I'm very disappointed. Friend and I had dinner she had a curry dish and felt sick. While she was in the bathroom, I paid, but she wanted to sit and have a cup of tea. I ordered a thai tea and she hot tea. We drank the tea, and the waitress was not around, so we left. As we got on the elevator in the parking garage, the waitress grabbed my arm and said I didn't pay for the tea. She hands me the bill, and it's $10.07 for a tea bag and thai tea. Mind you, I had tipped her over 20% on a meal that got my friend sick. Never will I support a business like this. To run after someone for not paying for a tea bag that probably cost them 5 cents. Tasty dinner option in downtown Silver Spring. It is top floor overlooking a main square (w elevator access). The inside decor adds to the experience. Lots of room and big booths, which I prefer. There is a moderate amount of outdoor seating. I had the Panang curry with chicken. It was tasty with good flavor, not too spicy. The service was very good. I'd go back and try another curry. I came in with a friend for dinner on a Wednesday evening and were seated promptly. This restaurant is located in downtown silver spring. Decor is nice and atmosphere is calm and pleasant. Even though we stayed till 9:30 pm they didn't rush us so that was really nice. I only order drunken noodles at any Thai restaurant. The vegetable one was delicious and really good. However, the chicken drunken noodles lacked flavor. The portion is decent and price is pretty reasonable too. I've been to this place few times and food here is consistent. It's nothing over the top special but it's decent and I would def come back. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews but my friend and I had a good time. Spotlessly clean, really nice wait staff. Tables aren't all bunched together like some restaurants, and I like the feeling of spaciousness. Speaking of size, the portions are bigger than any other Thai restaurant than I've seen. I posted a couple of pics- of the food, and the restaurant interior. This was easily the worse meal I've had in 40 years, made all the more egregious by the outrageously overpriced menu. I have spent so much time in this area over the years, yet I've never noticed Thai at Silver Spring before. It is located in the upper level, so unless you walk up the stairs, it's pretty easy to miss. My friends and I stumbled upon it though a google search for Thai food. I'm really happy we found this place. When we arrived, there was a sign in the door stating that it was temporarily closed. It turns out that they were fixing a gas issue inside. We must have came at the right time because they took the sign off the door as we were heading to find another place to eat. We went inside, and was seated immediately, since it was empty. They had a pretty good menu with lots of options. I ordered the crab rangoon, and the yellow curry with tofu. Everything tasted amazing. The food arrived super fast and was piping hot. Nice Thai spot in downtown silver spring. Food was pretty good and the service was great. More than one person checked on the table several times to make sure we were ok (not so often that it was a bother though). They have 2 happy hours, one from 4-7 I believe and the other after 9. The ambiance of the establishment was nice and welcoming. Since it is downtown, you will need to find either street parking or park in the garage. There is a parking garage about 2 blocks away that is free after 7 if you don't mind a 4 minute walk. read more

There is never a wait when you walk in here. They also have outdoor seating and happy hour everyday from 4-7pm and 9-close with drink and food specials. The service is really good felt like I had several waitresses. They picked up empty dishes fast and when we ordered our food it arrived fast. This time we brought our appetite; between me and my boyfriend we had 2 orders of calamari for an appetizer, crab fried rice, spicy breaded shrimp, and siman chicken which is like a fried sweet and sour chicken or similar to a orange chicken flavor. Decided to continue my hunt for the perfect Drunken Noodles. I was not disappointed. Our waters were filled the second we sat down, and the waiter greeted us shortly after. We started out with a 'Signature appetizer' of Gyoza Dumplings. They were crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. Perfection. I got my drunken noodles with chicken, and extra spicy. It had a great kick but didn't burn a hole through my mouth. The atmosphere was very quiet and welcoming. Came here for the lunch special on a Friday at 3. It's 14 bucks for an appetizer, entree, and either a soft drink or tea. I got spring rolls for the appetizer which was mediocre at best. They said there would be chicken in it but I only saw a piece of ground chicken. The sauce was also sweet and sour which was good but it should've been peanut sauce to make it more authentic. I wanted to try something new for my entree so I got this chicken dish over veggies and with a peanut sauce. The sauce was definitely interesting - sweeter than I would've liked. Me and my dad came here for lunch and ordered the lunch combo (includes an app from a selection of choices, a soda or iced tea, and a meal from a selection of choices) for 14$. We both got iced tea (dad got sugar/sweetener on the side), and I chose the healthy roll w/ chicken for my app while dad chose the mushroom tom yum soup. Both were SO delicious! The healthy roll (can include or exclude chicken depending on preference) includes shredded carrot, rice noodles, and cabbage rolled in rice paper and comes with a spicy peanut dipping sauce. The mushroom tom yum soup (dad let me have some and I let him have some of my roll) is mildly spicy but filled with a savory flavor. It's also generously portioned in a bowl and holds and abundant amount of cut whole mushrooms (quartered/halved, not sliced). For my entree, I chose the garden delight whereas dad picked chicken fried rice. Both were perfectly portion sized for us and my dish was delicious (sautéed vegetables with a protein; I chose tofu; and white rice). I'm not sure I would pay the same price for lunch again, but considering you get an appetizer and drink included, this was a decent place to eat at. I wouldn't mind coming here again. read more

Came here for dinner recently and it was quite sparse (only two other patrons) even for a weekday that's very empty! I ordered the drunken noodle with chicken, but I should have asked for it extra spicy because although it had the little pepper symbol on the menu indicating spicy, I found it very mild.
