Located in the Sunset Ridge area of Alamo Heights, this place is always swarmed with customers and friendly employees. Before you go inside to check out the colorful Yeti and Le Creuset collections, hit up the clearance section outside. They also always have the best selection of wreaths and door decorations. The prices are a little expensive but so is the quality. From the Green Egg outdoor grill and Miele vacuum cleaners to luxury laundry detergent, it's all at Subset & Co!

Unfortunately, I didn't read carefully and the bowls were not microwave safe. My kids are not old enough to differentiate which bowls can and cannot go in the microwave, so I returned them. My mother has been in the hospital so I just chucked the bowls in a box with no... anything---not even a note or my name or the order number or anything, and Sunset & Co. immediately refunded my purchase upon their arrival and notified me of it by email while I was away helping my mother. I am so impressed by their customer service when I was quite the terrible customer. I'll keep watching their website and am eager to try again to find something delightful from this shop!

An hour later (you get caught up in all the eclectic items they offer). During the hour I checked out cat toys, dog toys, cards (fabulous collection of off beat greeting cards), cat litter, yo yos, dominoes, keys (they cut keys), gardening tools, pocket knives and many other items. You can find a nice weird gift for someone here. And yes, I bought a timer for $6.99. Go there and be reminded of back-in-the-day Scrivener's.

The first time he called, my husband spoke to a guy who said they needed to see the key first to see if they could do it. Fair enough, but they could have looked the key up first on Google or something. My husband forgot to ask how much it would cost IF they could do it, so he called back. A woman took his call and was short with him, as if she didn't want to be bothered. She snapped, "Oh no - we can't do that!" My husband told her he just talked to a man who told him to bring it down. So then she said "Oh, okay. $2 or $3." When he arrived and handed them the key, she took one look at it and "No we can't do that!" She was very abrupt. We would have shopped a bit for other things, we got the clear impression that our business wasn't wanted. For anything. They were not busy at all. I can understand that they couldn't make the key, but a little more kindness and perhaps some initiative to find out exactly what kind of key we needed would have gone a long way. Since they make keys, and are no doubt familiar with modern fob type car keys, a little engagement of the gray matter would have saved everyone a big hassle.

I saw so many colorful and old/vintage windows and home pieces that could add or enhance your home or add a unique aesthetic to your home. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the pricing, the lack of cleanliness or upkeep of the store, and the disappointment in this store definitely not being ADA complying for anyone who may have a mobility issue or wheelchair bound. There are so many items tucked away in corners and up against the walls here that it just seems like it would be dangerous and compact to try to walk comfortably. Parking might be a thing as we couldn't see any spots in front that would allow us to park. We had to park down the way (alley) and walked over to get to the store. It's really dusty here and although many things are labeled with the year and the type of wood/metal/glass the pricing just doesn't make any sense. I will say if you are down to explore and really take your time to look around to find a unique piece do it but maybe bring gloves? Everything is old and not in the best condition so be forewarned.

This is an upgrade from my original review…read more I originally wrote a review on the Ryobi Screwdriver set to use with a 3/8 impact set. Several straight bits the tips off and the phillips drivers all rounded the head and sides off. That prompted me to write the review. Several weeks ago I head from Alex from the review management team. We exchanged some emails and I then heard from Allison stated the set was not the RYOBI standard in workmanship. To my delight I was sent the replacement set and the bits in question are all marked for impact use. This is quality customer service which is not often found in businesses. I have updated the new rating to 5 stars. I have several RYOBI tools and will continue to obtain more. Thanks again BFord

However, recently as I…read moreentered the store to shop for a few needed items there was a Home Depot stand offering a/c tuneups for $29.00. after listening to their sales pitch I asked a few questions. I also asked if this was done by Home Depot employees and they said yes. I was contacted by Will Fixit and scheduled an appt. for Friday the 6th of Sept. between 10am and 2pm. They never showed up, although I had replied to their text message that we would be home. I made several calls but for several unlogical excuses they never showed up even after scheduling for later that evening between 6pm and 8pm. Finally, I just cancelled the no show appointments to include the one they offered later the following week. Mainly because I could not trust Will Fixit to show up and waste another day waiting. NOW I DO NOT KNOW IF I COULD EVER TRUST HOME DEPOT OFFERS IN THE FUTURE. SHAME ON HOME DEPOT FOR ALLOWING COMPANIES TO REPRESENT THEM THAT ONLY MAKE HOME DEPOT UNRELIABLE. NOT ONLY AM I A PRO MEMBER BUT A DISABLED VET WHO COULD USE A LITTLE HELP WHEN NEEDED.
