I found this place by accident a while ago driving around in Katy, and I must say I'm glad I found it! Living in Katy I always thought that I had to travel to Houston. No no no..... TexasSno is parked at the gas station on the side off of Franz, you can miss it's. This is fine shaved ice with a lot of flavors to choose to name a few Captain America, Ironman, Tigers blood and etc. One of my favorites is Strawberry Shortcake with extra condensed milk. They do offer other topping gummy bears, Carmel and other candies. Carmel Apple with with condensed milk is also good. The staff if real friendly, and helpful with selections if you are overwhelmed with decisions. Once you get a hold of one these you feel like a little kid and just doing the happy dance. On a nice hot Texas day this will definitely hit the spot! read more

Hopefully I'll be able to revisit and rewrite this as a 5 star. The snowcone was good, but the customer service was terrible. The experience was less than a 3 star, so I'm stressing that the product was good, but the service needs improvement. We were the only ones there while ordering (so no rush or line), and the guy working heard us having the conversations about the flavors and which to get. I even debated at the register whether my kiddo wanted the Elsa or the Cinderella because she really wanted the edible glitter. My teenager even said that she wanted the Texas Flag, so she could have a Texas Flag on her snowcone. However, I ordered all minis and smalls not knowing that the flavor combos I was specifically ordering (and all the toppings we were excited for) only came on Mediums in the color changing cup. While talking about toppings, he asked if I wanted to add gummy worms to the Monster Mash and even asked me if I understood that the fruit would be on top of my Polynesian Pineapple- to which I also said yes and asked to go light on the syrup on mine because I added ice cream to the bottom. At no time did he mention that every flavor combo I had just ordered was only "done extra" if it was a medium in the special cup. During the small talk while ordering, I even mentioned that we had come all the way here (from Fulshear) because I heard great things. When he started handing out the snowcones, I asked about the toppings (which were missing). His reply was that they were only on the mediums in the special cup. He said he tried to explain it to me, but when I disagreed, he told me (with an attitude) that that's "how he recalled it". He didn't offer to redo even a single 1 of the 5 snowcones I had just ordered, or offer any solution. He didn't even offer to add toppings, for which I would have been OK to pay extra...but at that point he had a huge attitude, so I accepted it, and walked away...not trying to be "that" person. As I was there trying my (syrup drenched) snowcone, I decided that I didn't just drive 30 minutes for a plain, not "Insta or Yelp worthy" snowcone. We came to try something unique. So, since it was double punch day, and I had filled a card with my one order, I decided to use it punchcard to get the snowcone I wanted. When I went to the counter to order, I was told that I had to pay extra because the card was not for the combo ones. I agreed reluctantly, because I felt it should have been a moot point after voicing that I just got 5 snowcones I didn't want. When I stuck my payment card in, he turned around and started prepping the snowcone. When he came back, I asked if it he was going to run the payment and he said (with a huge attitude in front of other customers now) "it's not even worth it". The customer next to me raised her eyebrows at how he talked to me. Again, I want to say that the flavors were good. And when I understood how to order the famous ones I'd heard so much about, I got what I had hoped for. Enough so that I'm willing to give them another shot in the near future. There are plenty of reviews to show the good product, and there are other unhappy reviews about the teens they hire to staff the stand. I'm hoping this was just an off day for the guy working. This place was a great getaway from the quarantine life. I searched up this place in an effort to satisfy my all-week craving for a snow cone, since my usual place is closed. I would have given 5 stars for my Dreamsicle snow cone--it had great flavor, great price, great portion size, nice shaved ice, and pretty good service. The only problem was that my parents got different flavors--vanilla with caramel drizzle and a combo of chocolate and wedding cake. Now I know you might question their choice in flavor--I did myself. Especially the vanilla and caramel one (good job Dad:). My dad's only complaint was that it was too sweet...no duh, I thought to myself. But my mom said the chocolate flavor was "sub par" compared to Bahama Mamas, where we usually like to go, whereas the wedding cake was decent. So hence the removed star. An overview: My experience = great!!! Would visit again. My mom's experience = okay, probably won't go again because she has an attachment to our usual place. My dad's experience = questionable due to the fact that he ordered the equivalent of a sugar coma as a snow cone. Also there is practically no parking in the gas station parking lot it's located in, so if you don't mind parking across the street and walking a little extra, then this fact is disregardable. read more

Okay...I know it is just a day later, but I could not stop thinking about getting another snoball! Yesterday, I dealt with the female half of the ownership, and today, I had the pleasure of dealing with the male half of ownership, plus their daughter. I have to say, that these people are beyond friendly...I can talk about how nice these people are, but I am sure you are curious to why I gave them the extra star!!! I had a blind eye to the sugar free flavors yesterday. I NEVER see sugar free on a menu. That is such an evil word to whereas I never have the desire to let those words creep out my lips without having soap and a bible handy! The owner was so animate about making sure he had flavors that everyone could enjoy. That consideration alone made them earn the 5th star. He knew people are health conscience more and more each day. He took lots of time to develop a wide assortment of sugar free flavors so those of us...well, them, with tiny waist could enjoy a New Orleans treat as well! Also being considerate of others, he made sure to let people know he has Tajin spice for their snoballs. That is the spice that you find on top of a lot of Mexican candies...hard to describe the spicy, not so spicy, tangy, not so tangy taste of that spice, but he has it for all the people that make up the great state of Texas. I already mentioned that he has treats for dog lovers as well, just another example of him thinking about the entire family. The owner also stated that he wanted people to experience all his flavors. He is offering samples of flavors so you can really know that you want it before you purchase it. This guy is looking to make sure you are not only a satisfied customer, but a repeat customer as well. I can go on and on about the great experience I just had with this establishment but just know one thing...they made the snoball juicy, so that let's you know how committed they are to excellence here! My first of many visits that I will be making here. I haven't had a snowball such as this in the many years that I have lived here in Houston and its almost around the corner from the crib. Another good place that has been recommended by the yelp community around Katy. I didn't use my $1 off check in coupon I will save it for a later date as my phone was really acting up while I was checking in. I got a scoop of ice cream stuffed inside of my snowball. Today was the second day at their new location and my kids and I loved it!! There are a ton of great flavors to choose from and prices are good. There is a lot of room for the kiddos to run around and play. They have tons of space between chairs and tables and due to limited seating, you are allowed to bring your own chairs. The fire pit is what really got me excited, but we had to leave early to run errands. We do plan on going back, but with bug spray in hand. The mosquitos are sooo bad right now, so make sure you are prepared. read more

Absolutely delicious!! We stopped by on Mother's Day. The line was long with only 2 people working this day but the trailer is small so I get it. We placed our order and had about a 30 minute wait. I like their snowballs but this time I went and they gave me this chewed up cup with the lil foam pieces falling all in my snowball. Not very sanitary during this pandemic. Disappointed . The wait was horrible only three customers ahead of me which is average and they still took forever. Do not order the King Cake. Gonna have to knock this down a bit. WAY too much syrup and sweetened milk. Maybe the kids actually working right now are very new to it? Or maybe they are making them like would want one in the dreams? Or maybe the young guy was so busy chatting with his coworker that he didn't notice he was adding too much? No clue, but I threw it in the trash after having about a quarter of it because it was like I was drinking the syrup straight with occasional chunks of glue in my mouth. I know some people complain about not enough syrup, but too much isn't a good thing either. The positive was no chunks of ice. Not sure if that was because of the machine or because it all melted in the syrup, but I'll take what I can get at this point. read more

When I arrived I greeted them and advised them of how popular they are amongst my Yelp crew and they seemed shocked. With all of the combinations and flavors to try, I will be making several trips to this little Sno-ball spot. One major plus for me is the "check-in" special ($1 off). Very few businesses that I review on yelp get the prestigious honor of five stars. This place reminds me of Louisiana whenever we come by for snowcone. They're not very many snowcone businesses that do what's called "snowballs" which is a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream under the layer of snow cone. The flavor is always rich within the snowcone. A lot of snowcone businesses use a cheaper brand of concentrate because I end up tasting mostly regular ice and all of the syrup is at the bottom of my cup but this place is not like that at all. What first peeked my interest in snowballs was when we visited a snowcone shop in Lake Charles Louisiana and I told my wife that we have to find a place like this in Houston and lo and behold thanks to the power of Yelp there was a location right up the street from the Crib. This place is definitely going to be a frequented spot in this Houston heat. It's a very small unassuming stand on the side of a gas station and unassuming suburban neighborhood but trust and believe that this place is very popular and Katy. It's run by a mom and daughter team and they are always alter professional and I love the fact that they offer you one dollar off coupon through the Yelp app. I wish more businesses would harness the incredible power of Yelp like these businesses are smart enough to do. My current flavor vibe: birthday cake + strawberry cheesecake. Easy on the syrup. Add condensed milk. It is the bomb.com! The birthday cake flavor is on point. The added condensed milk tastes like icing on a cake. Depending on who is making your snow cone, YMMV when requesting "easy on the syrup" - it goes for any snoball/cone establishment. The last time I asked for it, there wasn't enough syrup and quite a bit of ice fluff untouched by the syrup. I'd rather have that than having to pour syrup out every five minutes because someone was heavy handed with it. Maybe it's the scientist in me, but there has to be a more precise way to determine the right amount of "easy syrup"...a weigh scale, perhaps? I wish the place is closer, but perhaps in it's in my health's best interest that it's not. I can't believe I drive 25+ minutes for this place...it's that good! read more

So you have to ask what is in each flavor. So it is a little frustrating deciding what you want cuz who knows what is in the Spider-Man or tropical storm or Cinderella. I got a mini banana, my fiance got a mini blue raspberry and my son got a mini blueberry. The blue raspberry was made terribly. Too much syrup, so sweet he could hardly enjoy it. My banana on the other hand was a bit too dry with not enough syrup. Bahama bucks is closer to my house. I would not make any special trips for Texas Sno. read more

I've been driving to the heights for a good snowball. Luckily, I stumbled upon TexasSno on here and decided to give it a try! Surprisingly, you can easily miss TexasSno, even though its an adorable yellow food cart, because its tucked between two gasoline stations on the intersection of Elrod and Franz in Katy. Less than a 5 minute wait, compared to other spots that have over a 30 minute wait; thats just unacceptable in the Texas heat! Got a warm welcome from the owner and ordered my snoball. Decently priced, and a wide variety of flavors. I stuck to the rainbow, while my brother got the Monster Mash, a great combination of green apple and other flavors. Neat thing is that the owner, Nan, gave my brother a sample to make sure he liked it! What a plus! I asked if it was a signature flavor, and she told me that they actually do have some award winning recipes on sale, which Monster Mash is one of. One that caught my eye was the Cactus Juice, which is a margarita flavored snoball.. definitely gonna try. They also have the option of adding ice cream, whipped cream, condensed milk and gummy bears. Their menu is actually listed on their site, but I wish it had more details about what the flavor actually is! I guess you just gotta go up there and ask! Once I dug into the snoball, it was great. smooth texture, and doused in syrup! No light hand there. We sat under the canopy which is perfect! I was jealous that I didn't go for the monster mash; its that good! but the rainbow did not disappoint! Will definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to all my friends. Greatest sno comes on the planet! Insane selection of flavors but some with weird names, so you either have to look it up on the "products" section of their website or ask when you're there... Love, love, love this place. The snowballs are always on point. Great customer service and friendly employees. My family and I visit this place at least twice a week during the summer months and even a few times in the fall (they are open;-))!!! My only complaint would be the speed of service. I understand that masks are a "requirement" to enter a business; however, the employees of Texas Sno should be a bit more pleasant when requesting customers standing outside in line to have one on. A young female employee rudely notified my family and I of the mask requirement while we waited outside in line.
