As soon as you walk in, the restaurant is decorated to the max with western themed decor. Right at the front is the display of meats to order. Even a name board of who's cutting the meat today. Meat looks fresh. Good sign! The waitress taking you to the table is already holding a basket of bread. As soon as I sat down I had to try the bread. So warm and soft with a slight sweetness. Comes with whipped cinnamon butter. Definitely lives up to all the raves from my nephew. We ordered the 16oz ft worth ribeye with shrimp. Comes with 2 sides - picked the chilli bowl and Ceasar salad. Both delish. Steak is very tasty. Comes with a dipping oil. Definitely an affordable steak house with good portion size. Lots of specials that they run all week. All day $5 drinks specials for beer, Margharita and Long Island ice teas. The $5 beer was modelo. Love my beer nice and cold. Perfect for my food. You can pay at the table with the tablet. Yes, this is a chain restaurant but if you haven't been here I would give it a go. Why you might ask? # 1 is that it serves dinner until 10 pm when a lot of other Ithaca food seems to have closed their doors. # 2 they support local events including veterans #3 the place is clean and the staff and bartenders are always friendly. #4 the food taste pretty darn good. # 5 the interior space is laid out nicely. Large wrap around bar with lots of TVs. Lots of nice woodwork inside and intimate family tables with some local acknowledgment in the decoration. It shows some thought about being part of the community. I can appreciate that. # 6 They prepare some really tasty and hardy foods. You don't leave hungry. They have shrimp and potatoes and a very decent porterhouse which I would suggest. they even let you pick your own cut at the front of the kitchen before you are seated. # 7 There is plenty of free parking and you don't have to drive into the downtown area of Ithaca where parking can be difficult to find and costly. My one complaint would probably be that their driveway is in a bit of an unexpected location. It's hard to find at night as in not in the right location. I don't think it has a properly illuminated sign. You almost flash by this place on route 13 because I believe there are some large trees in front of it and your sometimes in busy traffic. I didn't have super high expectations for Texas Roadhouse since my friends didn't rate it highly on Beli, but wow, I was pleasantly surprised! I don't know much about steak but the ribeye steak was absolutely delicious - perfectly cooked to medium rare - and the ribs were great too, though I preferred the steak. The Cactus Blossom ($8.99) was an awesome appetizer to share, and it paired so well with their Cajun sauce. The portion sizes here are no joke. My friend and I shared the Ribeye 12oz & Ribs combo ($32.99), and we were absolutely stuffed. We chose fries and mashed potatoes for sides, and both were really tasty. I also finally understood the hype around their bread rolls with cinnamon dip - my housemate had raved about them, and I totally get it now. Yet we were sitting here about 1.5 hrs. We get the food and it was under cooked I got medium and it was rare. The cheese I got on my baked potatoe was dry. Cups were empty the whole time. Very reasonably priced at $14.49. Dad was beyond satisfied with his still moo-ing 16 oz. prime rib at $23.99. Service was good. Food was good. For Ithaca, Texas Roadhouse is a huge restaurant. Even though it's a big place, they don't take reservations. But I say not to panic because within 15 minutes they were able to accommodate 30 of us in no time. While you wait, there's all you can eat roasted peanut in this huge barrel. You can even take some home if you like. If you have severe peanut allergies, this place may not be a good idea. I tried their fall-apart-ribs half order. Yes, the meat falls apart as you pull the bones and juicy. If you're not a big eater, you can easily share that with someone because it comes with 2 big sides. We chose mashed potatoes with white gravy. Normally, you get served brown gravy but someone had recommended white gravy and it was good. We also chose Caesar salad. You also get complimentary soft dinner rolls with cinnamon butter. It's definitely soft, fresh, and delicious. There were few servers who helped us and they were terrific. They definitely know how to accommodate big groups. If you have never tried Texas Roadhouse, it's worth trying for. They also serve steaks and they have a display of the meat selection. read more

I've driven past this place a million times, but have never gone in. My wife had a hankering for some ribs, so we decided to do a curbside pickup. I was a little late for the pickup, so the food wasn't too hot, but I'll try not to hold that against them. All in all, this was ok, but I doubt I'll be back. The good: - The curbside pickup system was very convenient and communication was good. - Complimentary rolls and cinnamon butter were delicious and plentiful. - The side salad looked pretty basic, but my wife absolutely raved about it. She doesn't often rave about side salads, so it must have been good. The fine: - Broccoli, steak fries, and mushrooms were all totally acceptable and totally unremarkable The less fine: - Fried pickles were an absolute sodium bomb. So salty. So, so salty. I'm still thirsty. - Ribs could have been better. A little over charred, a little dry, and not all that flavorful. I've had worse, but I've definitely had better. Texas Roadhouse is usually consistently good no matter where you go and this location was no exception. Our party of three all enjoyed our meals, but be warned the service is VERY slow. Due to COVID and the shortage of employees, the hours are now reduced and the staff is seriously stretched. Luckily the food didn't suffer and our server, John, was super friendly, but we waited for long periods of time for every part of our meal including the bill.
