Beautiful location right on the water with a great seafood menu. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, the ambiance awesome! Love the extra touch with the edible orchid too. The only draw back I had was the bitter seemed like oil and not real drawn butter. Would recommend

A group of us came here for my friends birthday and it was a great experience! We were a little bummed they didn't take reservations but we were able to call ahead earlier in the day and that did help with getting a shorter wait time. This was my first time coming and I thought everything was delicious! Our waitress was so attentive and helpful with the menu items. I got the Ultimate G and T, Lobster Fra Diavolo and we shared the Fried Calamari. The drink was so refreshing and the seafood tasted fresh and flavorful. A few of my friends got the Makers Mark Sirloin and they enjoyed every bite. Each steak was cooked to perfection and they couldn't stop talking about the Brussel Sprouts. I also ordered a Key Lime Pie to go and it was the perfect late night sweet treat. The weather wasn't that great when we went so I'll definitely be back to take advantage of the outside seating and beautiful views!

Overall very mediocre food. I definitely was thinking that the clam chowder wasn't home made. The five onion soup was very oily and had frizzled onions on top... interesting choice but where are the other 4 onions? Service was good otherwise

This was the worst steak ever.

I have no idea what has happened to the restaurant. Fantastic location. Nicely appointed space inside. With extended covers outside dining and a tiki bar. They don't take reservations which I find to be a drawback. They have discontinued lunch which was a delightful time to enjoy the view. Last evening, a friend and I went for an early dinner before heading to the Hanger Theater. We ordered the soup and steak which were the specials for the evening. The soup was great. The steak was billed as a ribeye with crab, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables. The steak was $49. However, it was not a ribeye and was of one of the worst qualities of beef I have ever had. The waiter was friendly and professional. Excellent. The manager acted as if he were high. Could careless. As, it turns out the waiter went to another manager and the cost was reduced by 50 % Will not return or recommend this establishment. I will note it was PACKED. Maybe it was just the luck we had.

When in Ithaca I always stop in for dinner. They have a good location on the water with a large parking lot. I always have a great meal with good service. All the seafood is great.

The sizzling cookie... my only photo of the night.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It has a nice little spot right on the water and they've got the outside set up nicely so you can sit out there to relax or wait for your table. Our waitress was fantastic and I wish I could remember her name. She had some great recommendations and was super friendly. One option on the menu that I loved was that you can get smaller portions of certain entrees. I got the small plate portion of the markers mark sirloin which was very good! I also treated myself to the sizzling cookie which was awesome! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant if you're visiting Ithaca. I can't wait to go back!

We came here for dinner after my daughter's graduation. We called ahead at 11am for a text ahead dinner reservation for 5 at 4:30pm. By 4:45pm we were seated in a booth. We all ordered the halibut special $34 a plate and then a seafood Diablo. Halibut came with spinach and rice. Rice was on the salty side so I didn't finish it. For dessert we tried the chocolate cake for two, molton chocolate cake, and sorbet. The waitress was attentive even though they were packed. Including tip the bill was $260

The ambiance is good for family's and groups. Would not say dates necessarily. Definitely draws a crowd but there is room. One side felt very " sports bar" like but the rest was upscale restaurant feel. Located at base of Cuyagoa lake. Great view. The food was good - appetizers plenty and tasty. I was full by the time the main course came. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Would go again. I accidently labeled the tortilla appetizer as fresh fry in the pictures

However, did love the elevated feel of a typical American bistro. We thought the service could've been more attentive, but improved as the evening progressed. Our waitress was super nice and was helpful in explaining the menu specials and answering any questions we had. Most notably on the menu, the NY strip was a perfect medium rare. We opted to get the 4 jumbo shrimp on the side, which we thought retained a nice snap when we bit into it. It was also well seasoned, while still displaying its freshness. The fries complemented the steak, but was too well done for our liking. Our other entree, the lobster mac and cheese, had a nice cheese pull. We liked the added roasted tomatoes in the baked mac and cheese, which gave it a necessary acidity that countered the creamy, cheesy roux. For our appetizer, we chose the meat and cheese board, which was really solid. Appreciated the waitress explaining the selection, as well as the addition of a sour cherry jam and pickles on the side. This gave us a lot of mix and match options (64 to be exact), and we also liked how it came with charred/toasted bread. Finally, we wrapped up with a chocolate peanut butter parfait and key lime pie. Both were really good (get both if possible, but we liked the latter more).

The thing that was different this time was I had to leave early so we visited for brunch and I quickly, was saddened that they do not serve mussels during brunch time but to my delightful surprise the chef made an exception an I was smiling so hard that the waiters were please and extremely happy for me. For that I am grateful and needed to recommend my favorite restaurant on the Ithaca commons.

I've had brunch, lunch, and dinner at MIX, and all with varying levels of enjoyment. My recent…read morebrunch experience included ordering a Where the West Begins omelette, which includes "Braised short rib, butternut squash, red onion jam, spinach, smoked gouda". I wasn't sure how to feel about butternut squash with everything else (I'm not necessarily a huge squash fan - but I'm trying to learn to enjoy it), but the omelette was decent... it's the other side on my plate that looked less than appetizing. The biscuit was still covered in flour (and who wants to bite down on a clump of flour?), the cheddar hashbrown casserole lacked in flavor, and the brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal just... wasn't doin' it for me. Other recent experiences have been similar... there's usually one item on the plate that's flavorful or imventive (sometimes a main dish, sometimes a side), and the other parts of the plate are lacking. In reality, I think MIX is suffering a bit from rising food costs and inconsistency in their service and offerings. They've also changed the style of their menu from the original tapas-style to now being more typical entree options. Again... they've lost some of their innovative, experimental approach. In terms of ambiance, it really depends. I've been here for a work event and, because of the number of people, it was SO LOUD... they had also done a buffet offering for the event. As you can imagine, the food from the buffet was lacking, but that's often what happens when you're more mass producing your food (and it's left in a chafing dish, trying to be kept warm). On the other hand, I've been here for a dinner on a random night and was able to enjoy one of their Thai noodle bowls (and split some other apps with friends). The reality is that experiences at MIX are... well... a mix. Whether service, menu offerings, etc., I've found MIX's recent inconsistencies to be a disappointment. Will probably only visit in the future if it's suggested by others.

We decided to switch gears and go to a chain--something I don't typically do--and ended up at Texas Roadhouse for the very first time. From the moment we walked in, the manager, Samantha, greeted us with genuine warmth and conversation. We mentioned that we had never been to a Texas Roadhouse before, and she lit up, walking us through the experience--from picking your steak at the window to the famous fresh-baked rolls. She even brought a sampler of all their made-in-house side dishes right to our table so we could try them all. Her enthusiasm for the restaurant and the brand was contagious, and her hospitality set the tone for the whole meal. The food and service were both outstanding. The next night, after attending a wedding, we decided to go back for round two before leaving town. This time, Mikayla was the manager we interacted with, and she was equally kind, welcoming, and invested in making sure we had a great experience. My 10-year-old son, also new to Texas Roadhouse, had all sorts of questions--like the biggest steak she'd ever seen--and she took the time to answer him thoughtfully. Both Samantha and Mikayla, along with the other friendly servers we met, truly made this location shine. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine care for guests perfectly embody Texas Roadhouse's "Legendary Service" promise. If we ever come through Ithaca again, we would be thrilled to return.

My friend and I shared the Ribeye 12oz & Ribs combo ($32.99), and we were absolutely stuffed. We chose fries and mashed potatoes for sides, and both were really tasty. I also finally understood the hype around their bread rolls with cinnamon dip - my housemate had raved about them, and I totally get it now.
