When you first walk into the restaurant, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Came here for dinner on a weekend and had an okay experience. Unfortunately when we got there, they forgot to give us extra utensils for my friend and I . I ordered a New York strip with vegetables and chili. When the chili came out, it was super cold. I had to ask them if they could replace it. And I cannot believe that they brought out the same chili bowl and they just heated it up. I would not recommend that for any restaurant ever. Texas Roadhouse really needs to consider opening for lunch, at LEAST on Fridays! A lot of my customers would prefer Texas Roadhouse over any other steakhouse in our area. And we go for lunch, not dinner. The one in Lancaster PA does open for lunch, but most of my customers are closer to the Ephrata PA location. Food was 50/50 Knives our a bit dull I got Prime Rib it came out looking medium rare without the moisture(dryer than my beer on a Friday night) you had to trim off all the gristle which left you a medium to small looking fillet. Wife got bbq chicken & sirloin: Her chicken was definitely smothered in bbq so much-she felt like she was really only eating bbq sauce. Blooming onion was 20/80 It was over battered and uncooked Our waiter Sham was on point though and made the best of things! I get not every restaurant is perfect! Reviewing a chain is always an interesting conundrum for me. On one hand, it's certainly not fine dining or unique, so are you really helping someone "discover" anything with a review? On the other, you can still get a good meal and good service and it's nice to call that out, so that's what this review will be. This location is fairly new and nearby to a hotel I stay at for work when traveling into Central PA. I recently dropped in for a post-work meal and was seated very quickly. It was fairly busy for a Monday night, but we got service right away after getting to our table. Our server was phenomenal, and the manager of this franchise was excellent as well, stopping by to check on things after welcoming us when we arrived. I got an 8 oz filet, cooked to a perfect pink medium temp as ordered. My side salad was nothing to write home about, and my mashed potatoes were good. The star of the plate, the steak, delivered. We tried the fried pickles which were lighly battered, not greasy, and came with a couple good dipping sauce options. I'm sure there have been volumes written about their cinnamon butter rolls, so I won't bother adding to that. They are tasty and they are way too easy to overindulge in...beware! The reason this location is getting a 5 Star Review is the PEOPLE. Their staff was very welcoming, smiling, and no less than 5-6 of their servers, bussers, and greeters thanked us for coming in. Went here for my husband's Birthday meal. I got the prime rib, green beans and a sweet potato. Husband got Mac and cheese, baked potato, and ribs. We got mozzarella twists for our app. My food and our appetizers were great, as were our server. The beer was cold , as were my husband's ribs! Miles was our server and did a great job. Our drinks were always replenished quickly and he knew the drink and food menu inside and out. I stopped for dinner and sat at the bar. My service was good and the food was good. My issue arose several weeks later. I'm on the road all the time, living in hotels. It's actually unusual for me to eat in restaurants because I buy food from the grocery store. I used my credit card for gas, hotels and a few other places where I can use the tap feature. In the Texas Roadhouse, I handed over my credit card to pay the bill. A few weeks later someone tried buying stuff online with my credit card. I found it suspicious that shortly after handing my card over to the server, it was compromised. It was a $40 item. A professional scammer would have gone much bigger. A Valentine's Day Massacre (of my Digestive System) I went in expecting lunch; I left with a biological hazard. My wife and I chose Texas Roadhouse for a quick lunch this Valentine's Day. The restaurant was fine and the server was attentive--right up until the point where the kitchen decided to wage war on my internal organs. The culprit? The Chicken Critter Salad. It looked innocent enough, but about four hours after the final bite, the "romance" ended abruptly. I spent the remainder of the most romantic night of the year in a cold sweat on the bathroom floor, oscillating between violent vomiting and a level of diarrhea that I'm fairly certain violated several Geneva Convention protocols. The Managerial Irony What makes this even more infuriating is my previous knowledge of the General Manager. A few months ago, he smugly turned down my daughter's application for a summer position, claiming the restaurant was "far too efficient and maintained far too high standards" to train summer help. Newsflash: If your "efficient" team can't manage to wash a piece of lettuce or keep bacteria out of the dressing, you aren't exhibiting "high standards"--you're a health code violation in a suit. Maybe if you'd hired some help, someone would have had the time to actually wash the lettuce. The Aftermath: * The Food: Clearly, the greens weren't washed. I paid for a salad and got a side of salmonella. * The Vibe: Less "Burning Love," more "Burning Gastrointestinal Tract." * The Cost: We paid $60 for a meal that I saw twice--once on the plate and once again later. Final Verdict: If you're looking to lose five pounds of water weight in a single night while being looked down upon by an arrogant general manager, this is the spot for you. Otherwise, stay far away. The same restaurant in Reading is excellent so this was a big disappointment. We called ahead for a part of 7, then were told we would have to wait 2 more hours because of making it 8. It's a madhouse on arrival. People packing the lobby, outside and waiting area. Ended up waiting almost another hour and when we were finally seated it could have easily accommodated 8. The food was uniformly horrible. No one liked it. Someone at a nearby table was Rebel-yelling every 5 minutes. Only thing worse than the food was the drinks. I challenge the Liquor Control Board to find any in there. Waitresses were obviously overloaded. Not their fault but service was poor because of it. read more

Update: when I submitted a complaint to Texas Road House, they issued me a coupon for the full amount of my meal. So, we gave them a second chance. The meals we ordered were FANTASTIC.
