It doesn't matter what town I'm in, I do like the food on BJ's menu & I am a rewards member. Today I met my elderly aunt at BJ's in Lancaster. I had driven three hours from New Jersey to meet her. She arrived before me and was seated by the hostess and told the hostess to keep an eye out because she was meeting me. I arrived about 15 minutes later, not realizing that she was already sitting in a booth around the corner from the lobby. I am guessing there was a different hostess on by that time for some reason because the first question I asked was if an elderly lady had come in and was waiting. She said no. So I sat there for 20 minutes waiting getting worried about my aunt and finally I went and walked through the restaurant and I found her at a booth and then I felt terrible because by this time she'd been waiting 35 minutes! There was a different hostess that came up while I was sitting there and she obviously could see I was pacing around and looking out the window & checking my phone , but never did she ask me if I was waiting for someone who might already have been seated. Anyway, we did have a good meal. She enjoyed her California flatbread appetizer, and I had my go to which is the enlightened AHI tuna salad. Our server was attentive & friendly. My only issue with this location is that the music is turned up way too loud. It is so loud that it's next to impossible to have a conversation with someone, especially an elderly person who cannot speak very loudly and may not be hearing very well. I really do think that management should consider turning the music down, especially during lunch hours. read more

With a name like BJS, I knew it would be the perfect location for my daughter's 10th birthday dinner. After navigating the rotating door (unsuccessfully, my husband got stuck!) we entered the establishment and were greeted by 700 tvs, 3 working overhead lights, and the smell of freedom (burnt pizookie ) after waiting for 30 minutes (I started shaking because of my low sugar) we were showed to our table (a breakfast nook built for toddlers) by a goth girl. Next, we met our waiter, and that's when the night really began. He was a ginger who had the confidence of someone who was a brunette. It was really heartwarming to see. The second we made eye contact, I knew. He is my twin flame. There wasn't a specific event that occurred that made this known, but more of a cocktail of occurrences. 1st, he said I love you after we didn't scream at him for taking 30 minutes to give us our food. 2nd He stood directly next to Richard (my husband) and made direct eye contact with our daughter while she drank her beverage, to ensure it met the bjs standard of quality. After I sucked down my diet pep, he asked if I needed anything else from the kitchen, "like a hug". that warmed my heart so much, it felt like there was a pizookie in there (my body) 3rd he called my husband Richard homegirl which was very accommodating as home girl is one of Richard's preferred pronouns. 4 The ginger boy also displayed respect for his coworkers, even saying "thank you Daddy" to the bus boy (peasant). Was my burger burnt? yeah maybe. was the chicken cold? u could say that. Did my husband Richard find something he called "nature's pizookie in an unflushed toilet? Oh for sure. But at the end of the day I haven't felt more like myself in 45+ years (I guess except for that one memorable night with Richard in Panama) anyway, thank you so much to BJs for giving my daughter a birthday that lives up to the name. I will make sure to give my daughter a bj every year (birthday joy) because of this night. My biggest tip: if your waiter isn't a ginger, scream until u can get one. Time at table (for my experience in food & beverage industry) was too long of a wait till the server got to my table. Notes I have to rush and eat instead of enjoying my meal. With a name like BJ's, I was expecting a lot more service with a smile, but nothing special. Waiter made us feel a little rushed, like he wanted to leave, maybe even before us! Menu was limited and didn't align with my preferred food intake. We both got each of the two available taco dishes and they were very good. My draft beer tasted like it was sitting in the lines since last week or it was just a terrible Hefeweizen. Wife's Grand Marnier Margarita was excellent. Place was nice and modern and left me wishing my dining and drinking experience was as excellent as the decor. For the money, totally not worth it. Never going back there again. read more

Our party of five arrived and we're the only ones waiting to be seated. The hostess,a manager and 3 waitresses were standing by the hostess desk. One of the waitresses kept saying "I want to go home". Finally the manager said "Well go home." In the mean time our party stood waiting to be seated and pretty much being ignored. While we waited a party of 2 came in we're immediately seated. It wasn't as though there were no tables available as it was not real busy and we could see empty tables from where we were standing. But the focus was on the girl who wanted to go home. we waited a few more minutes and finally just left and went to another restaurant. It was my first visit to this restaurant. I ordered takeout to celebrate a friend's birthday. I ordered the gluten free pizza which was small, overcooked and had very little taste. She ordered a soup and salad combo which she said was just okay. Soup was not hot. Portions were very small for the price paid. I went inside to add on a small side of French fries for my granddaughter. I didn't have time to wait but was assured the fries were made and I could take them with me right away. I paid for them. The young man then handed me a container with only a few fries in it, not even filling half the container. I said, "this costs $6?" He said, "we are short on fries right now." I suspected my teenage niece needed someone just "to talk to". I was in town and made time to ask her out on a "date". I let her pick the place, I wanted her to be comfortable. BJ's Brewhouse would not have been my first choice for a heartfelt talk but this is where she wanted to go. And you know what? Turns out it was a great place! It was a Monday night and not too crowded - we were seated and greeted immediately. I had looked ahead at the menu and saw that Monday was 1/2 off pizza night. We decided that was the way to go. The 1/2 off pizzas were the flatbreads and the large deep dish. My niece wanted to try the garlic chicken pesto which came on flatbread. Since I am a founding member of the "never enough bread" club, I really wanted deep dish. No problem, the crust types were swapped and both of us were happy. She loved the combination of chicken, tomatoes, and mozzarella and goat cheeses on top of the pesto sauce. I wasn't a fan but I knew a pizookie was in my future. We talked and talked. The restaurant was loud enough that people wouldn't overhear our conversation yet still quiet enough that we didn't need to raise our voices to be heard. We spent a long time talking and our waitress kept our drinks full and checked back a couple of times but she didn't make us feel rushed. I don't want to forget the pizookie. A large, fresh baked cookie topped with ice cream and sauce. Totally overkill on the sweetness but, since I subscribe to the monthly newsletter of the over the top dessert club, I was right in my element. I would not have ordered it, but my niece wanted the strawberry shortcake pizookie. A hot sugar cookie, a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream, strawberry sauce and fresh strawberries turned into my new fave. It was huge. It was decadent. It was too much. It was AWESOME! We had a great talk - she got a lot off of her chest and I complained about gram and pap. We laughed. We bonded. It was the perfect evening. read more

Well the Ambiance wasn't great at all. It's was a hot and very humid day out side and wanted a reprieve from the weather. Cold drink and good food. Well I did not get that at all in this eatery. The temp inside was just as hot as the outside. The humidity inside was very unpleasant making it uncomfortable and not pleasant at all. I try to give it a chance, but couldn't. I started sweating and just wanted to leave. So we waited to leave till our server came to our table and explained to her my reason for leaving. So totally agreed and understood. Well we decided we wanted to try a restaurant outside of our local area so we were heading toward Lancaster and decided to see why is around the Park City Mall. We found this place and decided to try it. We are currently sitting at a table waiting for our food. Our server is very nice and thorough which is a good thing but there is a staff, not sure if he is a server but he is definitely a part of the staff that is waking up to tables telling racial jokes. Really!! He came up to our table and my husband asked him to move on and the guy seemed offended saying "oh, you don't like jokes then, well whatever" and walked to another table to tell his racial joke. Completely disrespectful. And our food just came to the table. Parmesan crusted chicken. I'm sorry it is not good. Sadly we will not be back. Additionally, we found the portion sizes to be quite small relative to the cost; for example, a side of fries consisted of only eight small fries. Awful. We were there at 4:30 on a Saturday night. They were out of avocado. The bar was backed up so it took forever for one person to get his beer. The BJ philly sandwich was cold, very little meat and flavorless. Our mozzarella sticks were cold. We ordered burgers. Not too bad but we had to ask for Mayo and ketchup. The strawberry lemonade was sour. The dining room was dark. It made it difficult to read the menu. The restaurant in general was loud. We will not ever return. read more

California club with salad instead of fries, very disappointed for $16.50, salad was drowned in thousand island, the sandwich was not sourdough bread, tasted and looked exactly like Texas garlic toast and very soggy like the salad. Well it started off poorly and confusingly. Upon entering the music was loudly playing at the entrance and we could not hear what the host was saying at all as he was speaking quietly beneath his mask. Apparently he was asking booth or table. Was shown to a booth and handed a paper beer menu and a coated cardboard seasonal specials menu with only 5 items - but the regular menu had to be obtained on your cell phone using the QR code posted in the table. Odd because we were handed the 2 other menus? I asked the waitress about a beer flight and was told they are offered but no further explanation given on how many or what I could pick from. No place to write down selections. After determining some of my selections were not available for a flight, I had to choose others. I was feeling very awkward about the experience from the start. Asked another waitress where the ladies rooms were located as it wasn't obvious and she was very friendly and actually walked me through the restaurant to where they were located. Very much appreciated instead of just pointing, As for my food and drink order - the calamari were cooked perfectly in a light tempura batter and were tender. This place was really good! I'm a Lancaster native but recently moved to VA so there's always some new restaurant when I come home to visit. My cousins suggested we go to BJ's and I was so confused because I thought she mentioned the warehouse. Once we got there we put our name on the list and was told about 35minutes to wait. We checked for a bar seat and found them so took those instead. Our waiter was so cute friendly and helpful with ordering what we wanted. For our drinks we ordered a strawberry splash and idr what my cousin ordered but it came in a bronze cup. Once they came our we ordered a plate of wings, sweet potato fries and a strawberry beignets. it all came out pretty fast. The wings came in an order of 10. You can have them bone-in or boneless and they were saucey and crunchy( prob some of the best I've had for a restaurant). Our sweet potato fries were ok, could've been better they we're a little burnt still good. The main attraction! We went was for dessert. My cousin raved about how delicious all of their desserts were. the STRAWBERRY BEIGNEG....Warm, soft, strawberries, ice cream and a crunchy beignet...just like what I had in Louisiana. Overall I enjoyed my experience here. Fast service, delicious food, friendly wait staff and a revolving door so when sitting at the front waiting you won't feel any of that cold air during the winter times. Where to start... You feel like you are being packed into a sardine can! There were about 40 people waiting and 8 employees standing around doing nothing. They ask for your cell phone number instead of buzzers. The poor family beside us witnessed two groups get seated before them that came in after them. The gentleman approached the hostess and here they had the wrong number!! That immediately prompted us to have the hostess verify our number. Two positive things about our experience: 1. Our server was wonderful. Friendly and provided service with a smile, despite our experience. 2. The kids are brought a complimentary garlic knot and a small cup of fruit (not pictured). Thank god because we had waited for over an hour and my kids were ready to pass out. Our waitress is the only reason this place deserves one star. My fiancé couldn't even drink his beer because it tasted so terribly and sent it back. The mac & cheese was Kraft (which is listed on the menu), but for $6.25??? A box from the grocery store is $1. The pizza was served to us with NO sauce. None. How do you make a pizza with no sauce? It's one thing if you're ordering a white sauce pizza or a specialty pizza that is advertised that way, but not an original veggie deep dish. When we brought it to the attention of the waitress she was speechless. And instead of offering to remake the pizza we were given a bowl of marinara sauce about 10 minutes later. At that point the pizza was cold and we were left dipping our cold pizza into our luke-warm sauce. I'd also like to point out that we ordered a large pizza, had a party of 6 and given ONE side dish of sauce. But our waitress still served with a smile :| Very poor experience. I will never return. I've come here several times throughout the last couple of years and tend to have a decent experience. We came here for lunch (family of 4) and were quickly sat in a booth. Our server was incredibly friendly and very helpful! The kids meals were a great portion and both my boys enjoyed their meal. My husband and I split a few things like the chicken nachos, lemon peppered wings and a mini Buffalo chicken pizza. The nachos were fantastic! HUGE! The wings were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was great. The pizza was good but it was drenched in the sauces making it slightly soggy. The drink selection is vast. I usually enjoy sour or goses. My one suggestion is to keep at least one on year round. I tried to order an IPA, but they were out. I settled for the double IPA, which tasted great. Highly recommend, especially if you're trying to catch a game and just chill. read more
