My sides: green beans and baked potato
Koko S.

Mom and I stopped in for a random dinner night, and it ended up being just what we needed. The place was kind of busy, but the vibe was cool -- that signature Roadhouse energy with the country music, clinking glasses, and the smell of grilled steak floating through the air. It felt lively without being loud, like everyone was just there to eat good and relax. We got seated right away (no wait -- love that). Every host we passed was actually talking to people, not just seating them -- asking about your day, making small talk, keeping it light. That friendly energy really set the tone. I started with the grilled shrimp appetizer, and listen... it was giving Outback's shrimp on the barbie but better. Perfectly seasoned, buttery, hot -- no notes. My Long Island had a little too much Coke (they always do unless I'm supervising), but it still did what it needed to do. Mom had a margarita that she loved. My bone-in ribeye came out medium well -- a little too cooked on the edges, but that center? Perfection. Juicy, flavorful, covered in sautéed onions and mushrooms, with a baked potato on the side. Mom ordered the Crispy Critter Salad, and it was massive -- fresh, crunchy, and delicious. She only made it halfway through. Our server was great -- I wish I remembered her name because she was on point the whole time. Drinks stayed full, food came out fast, and she had that "I actually like my job" energy you don't see everywhere anymore. Now, let's talk about that bread... We ate so much of it, it should count as a sin. Warm, soft, and that cinnamon butter? Dangerous. The only thing I missed was that old-school Texas Roadhouse feel -- the peanut shells all over the floor. Now they give you peanuts in a bag (thanks to COVID), and while you can still toss them down if you want, it's not quite the same. Still, the place keeps its charm. All in all, the food was great, the service was solid, and the ambiance was exactly what I needed after a long week -- fun, friendly, and full of good energy. We'll definitely be back... probably for the bread alone.

The wait is always so long here since it's literally the only one on the north north side. No one is driving to Conroe to wait here if there's one nearby. The closest to this location is the one on 1960 so that's why everyone goes here. Any time I come for dinner, you're looking at 45-1 hour wait which is why I rated this a 3-star ehhhh... They need to figure out a way to shorten wait times or have a reservation system in place. Anywho, the food is good at Texas Roadhouse, but most of the time the steaks I order are always medium or medium well when I really want medium rare. It's flavorful and tender enough though that I still consider it good enough. The drinks are always good and strong. I don't recommend getting a shot in a tube glass though since it's typically bottom shelf alcohol. You can ask for top shelf but not sure what's their highest top shelf. It's always very loud in the restaurant and there's peanut shells everywhere so be careful!

Cactus Blossom-

This is a great go-to for when you don't want to think about dinner, have a bunch of different cravings, or just need some of those rolls and cinnamon butter. Even writing this review I'm craving them. The margs were great, the blooming onion was awesome, servers are nice and country music is fun.

The Raw shrimp

I don't normally leave reviews but I figured this one would be worth it. My girlfriend and I ate at this location last night and she was served raw shrimp twice. Before we first noticed it she took a bite and spit it out due to the "Texture", I have cooked a lot of shrimp in my day and when I looked at the shrimp on her plate it was blatantly raw! As if the cook threw it on the flat top for 30 seconds on each side. Fully translucent, I told our server that this was unacceptable she was rushing since they were getting close to closing time and promised to bring us new shrimp in a to go box and after 5 minutes she returned and gave us the box. I opened it up and once again they gave us completely raw shrimp. This is unacceptable and I would say avoid getting shrimp here if you don't want food born illness.

Food with friends

We were invited to join our friends for dinner and I couldn't be happier. It was very busy and that didn't stop Ross from keeping us from feeling welcome and he made sure our order was just right. The food was very good and we will come back again.

Texas Roadhouse is a very consistent steak house my family enjoy! Especially the bread rolls! So yummy!

Great service, excellent steaks. This is our 4th time back at this location and will keep coming back!

Bone-In Ribeye*

The food was good, and the service was friendly. My only complaint is that I ordered a ribeye, and the one I received had the spinalis removed, and no tail! Those are the two pieces that set the ribeye apart! Everyone else in my party were happy with their filets and sides.

Always love Texas Roadhouse especially the location in Conroe. We are regulars because the food is always great and if there ever are any issues they get you taken care of so quickly. Tonight Tony was our server and he was very quick and had very good banter which made for a great dining experience. The atmosphere was great as always from the music to the families celebrating birthdays all around. Honorable mention to our server last time Gavin we forgot to ask for him tonight but he does a great job too, very efficient. All around you can't go wrong going to Texas roadhouse. See you tomorrow as our server Tony said!

People think you need to pay 40-60 bucks for a good ribeye. Texas Roadhouse does your wallet and taste buds right.

At some point, we lost count on the songs, as one blended into another and each sounded just like the one before it. Hey, it was Thursday and he was a local putting himself out there for us to listen to. It's nice to have live entertainment during dinner and the background music was just background enough. Our seats were near the bar at the high top tables that gave a commanding view of the stage and bar area. The place was crowded for a Thursday night, filled with regulars enjoying the food and ambiance this century old building exudes in spades. Much like the breakfast menu we enjoyed a few weeks ago, our meals were almost identical. We both enjoyed the Reuben sandwich for our dinner. I personally wished it had more kraut, but the corned beef was tender and flavorful. I had added the sweet potato fried and we shared the cheesy fries as an appetizer. Cheesy fries do not do it justice. They were coated with more than enough cheese, accented with chopped onions and other herbs that added flavor and texture. Our waitress was wonderful and explained anything we had a question about during our meal order. I had an amber beer with dinner that really accented the reuben nicely. All in all, the dinner service was as enjoyable as our venture in there for breakfast. The Red Brick Tavern has now become a place we will go to more often ... not only for the food, but for the ambiance. Ciao, Darrell

The $20 ribeye special (12 oz with a side) is a standout deal that's honestly hard to beat. We sat inside near the bar, and the atmosphere struck a great balance--casual, a little lively, but still comfortable enough to enjoy a conversation without feeling crowded or rushed. I order my steak well done, which can be tricky, but they handled it the right way. The first one came out slightly under, and our server Madi addressed it immediately with no hesitation. What really stood out was her approach--professional, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. She even brought out a fresh serving of cilantro rice while I waited, which made a big difference. The second steak came out exactly right--flame-grilled, tender, and flavorful. The cilantro rice was fresh and well-seasoned, the fries were crispy, and the drinks were well balanced. We ended up staying after our meal just to relax, which says a lot about the overall experience. Great service, great value, and a place we'll definitely return to. Ask for Madi if you go--she made the experience seamless.

Why 5 stars? Because this will definitely be my new go-to butcher shop…read more --- --- --- I've been to all of the butcher shops within about 20 minutes of my house, but none of them were all that impressive. Fortunately, Stone Cold Meats recently took over this space, and I was really excited to check them out because their other locations were highly rated. And it turns out: I see why. I came here to stock up on Super Bowl food: steaks, burgers, sausage and some sides. Almost all of it was a home run. Or, a touchdown, I guess I should say. I ordered 3 bone-in ribeyes and they turned out to be really great. I was a little concerned because they were not nearly as pricey as they are at some nicer butcher shops, but my concerns were unfounded. Great steaks, great prices. I also ordered some brisket mac-n-cheese, two different kinds of potato salad, some brisket burgers and some sausage stuffed with mac-n-cheese. The potato salads and sausage were a big hit. The burgers and mac were just okay. But that's okay because the important stuff was awesome. When I purchased my stuff, the woman asked me if I wanted to sign up for their rewards program. Normally I hate giving my information out, but I was happy to do it in this case. Apparently, you can get some really good deals once you earn enough points. I foresee a future with many points earned.

Update of my previous review from a month ago (left below this):…read moreStone Cold Meats - Wow! We just had the greatest piece of beef we've ever had, thanks to Stone Cold Meats. For my birthday I asked for a Prime rib roast. The buying experience at the store (in Conroe) was so much better than other options in the area that it's almost not a fair fight. The butcher was super friendly, listened closely to what I wanted, and gave me multiple choices. He brought out two entire rib racks, trimmed them down in front of us, and gave us a choice of which one, and which end. After enduring the barely helpful butchers at larger stores, this was like a breath of fresh air. The piece we chose was exactly what we wanted, and when it was finally time to eat we were blown away. The texture and the flavor of the meat was better than anything we've ever had, comparable only to the finest steakhouses like Vic & Anthony's or Pappas Brothers. It was amazing. See the last two pictures, below. To say that SCM will be our butchers from now on is an understatement. For a little extra you not only get better meat than elsewhere, you get a truly fun and engaging shopping experience. Last Review (October 2024) This is my favorite new store of any kind in the entire county. The assortment and quality of meats is amazing, but I most appreciated the owner's knowledge and enthusiasm, and especially his willingness to spend time discussing his various products and his favorite way to cook them. We've been back several times since our first visit last week and their mild Italian sausage that we cooked this week (with peppers and onions) was truly outstanding. Then we tried their brisket burgers and THEY were amazing! This is a very welcome addition to the area and we'll be regulars.

Come to find out Marsala's also has a location in Huffman, but they are not related to my other fav spot. Inside, the restaurant is actually small, I was expecting it to be much larger. They do bring you their garlic knots right at the beginning of the meal, but they did not look or taste much like my other fav Italian place in NE Houston. The bread at Marsala's was dry and crusty (the other place has soft and pillowy bread) and there was no drippings or garlic butter resting at the bottom of the bowl, so I just ate a little of the interior of the knot itself. I ended up choosing a lighter dish, shrimp scampi, since I was still full from lunch and my dining companion chose the chicken penne. I'm not sure whether the chef was out sick or what happened exactly, but both dishes came out from the kitchen really bland. There was no salt or seasoning to the food. The pasta also didn't seem like the water was salted during cooking. We mentioned this issue to our server, who then told the manager. They were really apologetic and even comped our entrees even though that wasn't our original intention. I just wanted to know what happened and why there was no seasoning at all in the food. We left and of course didn't bother to order dessert. In summary, the service was really good, I will give them that much, but the food was barely edible. I'm just not sure I would even come back to try other dishes since these two we ordered just could have been so much better.
