I delivered the bike on Thursday and picked it up on Friday. He replaced the tube and tire completed a safety inspection of the bike and topped off the oil for about 1/3 the cost of an Indian dealer. Shawn is a professional. He runs a one man shop that is clean, neat and efficient. I was so impressed with his work I left my spouse's Honda Interstate with him for a safety inspection and to research a battery drain issue that has srumped 2 Honda shops and 2 multi brand shops. However, I've always thought the mark of a good business is what they do to rectify less than ideal situations, and Bobby, the manager, came through! I bought a new set of tires for my FJR from RevZilla, who are now owned by the same company as CG. Because of this, mounting tires at CG cost the same, whether the were bought at RZ or CG. Took the tires in, got them back the next day, everything looked fine after I remounted the wheels, and took it on a short ride. A few days ago, I opened my garage door to see that one of the sets of wheel weights was on the floor. Damn! I didn't want to take the wheel off again, and take it back to CG, so called and talked to Bobby, explaining the situation, and proposing that he refund me the charge for mounting that tire, and I would simply use balance beads, which I could put in here, with the wheel on the bike. Bobby said he would do me one better and refund the charges for both wheels. He stated that he had been seeing some issues with wheel weights, so they were doing a review on the process, and also checking to see if they got a bad batch of weights. It was a less than ideal situation, but Bobby did me right!

Love the architecture here and the windows of the shop. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will be coming back for a Motorwear Leather jacket (that I will have tailored). I am excited knowing that I don't always have to ride all the way up to Austin, now I know a place where I can rent a motorcycle. Called this shop to get my tire replaced using my new tire and tube , he quoted me $30 on the…read morephone... I dropped it off and he told me he only uses ceramic beads for balancing... I said fine because that's what I've always used. Thought balancing was included and he didn't quote me any more cost - picked up my rim and tire and was charged a $50 bill ...$17 for a couple of tablespoons of beads ? needless to say I feel that's really screwed up ! I should of been told of the price difference... Hell I had beads at home ... I'm still walking funny from my experience there ... very sad ... seemed like a nice guy . I used to have a lot of trust in First Texas Honda, but my most recent service experience was very…read moredisappointing. My 2018 Honda Accord was diagnosed with a failed turbocharger, and service advisor Aidan Carlson told me that even with my warranty coverage, I would still owe nearly $800 out of pocket. What concerned me was that he began discussing potential out-of-pocket costs before the warranty company had fully reviewed the claim and repeatedly stated that the warranty would only cover the turbo repair. When I contacted the warranty company directly, I learned that additional charges had not been properly itemized and that labor costs exceeded what the warranty company was willing to pay. After I asked Aidan to provide more detailed information to the warranty company, the claim was re-evaluated and approved. Miraculously, my estimated out-of-pocket cost dropped from nearly $800 to $0. The most frustrating part was feeling like I had to do my own research and advocate for myself to get an accurate answer. Had I simply accepted what I was originally told, I likely would have paid hundreds of dollars unnecessarily. Whether this was poor communication, lack of attention to detail, or something else, it left me questioning the transparency of the process. I appreciate that the repair was ultimately covered, but this experience significantly damaged my trust in First Texas Honda's service department.
