What a wonderful experience!! I had to bring a baritone twice for 2 separate issues, and each time…read morethe experience was top notch. The staff is so friendly, the location is clean and just has an overall inviting feeling when you walk in the door. I have used 2 other stores in the past and I will never go back. Houghton Horns will always have my business. I took the baritone to another location first and was told it would be 2 weeks BEFORE it could be looked at. The quote was $300. And the employee there (Bell's) was very short with me and rude. I then went to Houghton and was told I would likely have it in a day or 2 and the cost was over half the price! And the employees are just so genuinely nice. I regret the many other visits to Bell's and Music & Arts. I promise, you will love this great company!

DON'T BOTHER GOING HERE!…read more I purchased a brand new Fender Squier Mini Strat Electric Guitar, a (supposedly leather) guitar strap, and a used Blackstar amp. I only played the Fender Squier Mini once after removing the plastic, and it plays, but it doesn't sound like it should. I also attempted to use the "leather" guitar strap with the Fender (which was suggested by the salesperson for this guitar), but it didn't hold the guitar and started fraying after one use. Then, after using the amp only 3 times, it completely stopped working. It turns on occasionally but none of the buttons work and there is clearly something wrong with the internal electrical system, so it's useless. I reached out to the manager of this store about returning these items but I have not heard back. I would definitely NOT recommend this place!!

Extremely unprofessional and disappointing experience. Our first violin class was canceled without…read morenotice, and we only found out after arriving at the school. The second class was also canceled with just 10 minutes' notice. This happened back-to-back. I had to leave work early and drive all the way both times. My child has not attended even a single class. What makes this worse is that the school is now refusing to issue a refund, even though no service was provided. Expecting a 30-day notice when the school itself keeps canceling classes last minute is completely unreasonable and ridiculous. This shows a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and no respect for parents' time or money. I do not trust this institute anymore and would not recommend it to anyone.

Negative if I could! This business sucks!!!…read more I signed up for 2 lessons for $119. This is what I agreed to and what I was told I was paying for. On 12/4 I get billed for $169. I contacted the office and am told that because their auto scheduler automatically scheduled her next appointments that I am responsible. The educator was late once and no showed the second appointment. They are heartless uninvested music teachers that don't care or prioritize our children's futures or talents. They had my daughter waiting for 40 minutes, the educator was late her first lesson and no showed her second appointment. I did not request a refund. I was ready to count it as a loss, but they decided to charge me an additional $169 just to cancel. This establishment is TRASH!! If you want your kids to have a genuine music teacher, DO NOT bring them here!!! #thetruth

That' didn't happen. I called several times and they didn't know or couldn't find it. I told them that Christmas was a week away and that I needed a status of it. I received no assurances. Today, 12/21/24, I got a call that inform me that they were still working the issue. It broke my heart knowing that my son would not get his Christmas present. I spoke to my son and told him that I would make it up to him somehow. Will not be buying there again.

We have purchased a piano, 2 guitars, and a ukelele from this store…read more My uke and guitar were both having issues with loose cable.jack / strap mounts. I needed one tightened and the other rescued from inside and fitted in place. It was late evening. We went to the counter and received some help. We were told that the technician was gone for the day. It required a specialized tool to fix it. We should come back when the tech is in. We thought they would have been more solution oriented as we told them we are return customers. The fact it happened to two instruments was brought up. I thought they would take some accountability. Long story short I went home disappointed. I ordered a bit of hardware to secure the jacks. I watched some videos. I then fished some dental floss through and snagged the interior piece and pulled it through the hole. I adjusted the inside nut, pulled it through and fixed then. There werent any apologies that it happened on two instruments. It was simply - yeah that happens. Bring it back when the tech is in and be can fix them. No offer of a free fix. It just didn't feel like customer service.
