DON'T BOTHER GOING HERE! I purchased a brand new Fender Squier Mini Strat Electric Guitar, a (supposedly leather) guitar strap, and a used Blackstar amp. I only played the Fender Squier Mini once after removing the plastic, and it plays, but it doesn't sound like it should. I also attempted to use the "leather" guitar strap with the Fender (which was suggested by the salesperson for this guitar), but it didn't hold the guitar and started fraying after one use. Then, after using the amp only 3 times, it completely stopped working. It turns on occasionally but none of the buttons work and there is clearly something wrong with the internal electrical system, so it's useless. I reached out to the manager of this store about returning these items but I have not heard back. I would definitely NOT recommend this place!! read more

Real people providing real customer service still exist! We so appreciate Todd and Joe for providing a great environment and being great people. We have purchased several instruments from Guitar Loft, and were never pressured into buying up - we got exactly what we wanted and needed. Todd and Joe are very knowledgeable about repair and maintenance, and Todd really knows how to set up a guitar. Everything there is ready to play off the wall. There are lots of guitars, but it is really small and crowded which gives an impression they have more than they do. When I took one down to play, I worried about accidentally bumping it on something. I was looking for a Taylor acoustic in the middle price range and they only had the very low end and very high end. I actually ended up buying a high end at Murphy's in Irving, because the high end ones here were not close to what I wanted. Murphy's had the full range of selection, and I ended up getting a beautiful Koa wood even though they had the middle range acoustics I was looking to get. Another issue was the salesperson was rather pesky and uninformed. Basically, he knew nothing about guitars, amps, or any other equipment. Either he was playing dumb, or really does not know anything about his business. Was not a good experience. read more

These guys are awesome. Dropped my 12 string acoustic and mandolin for restringing a while back (didn't call beforehand; just popped in) and was helped right away. They said they'd have them done that afternoon which was a pleasant surprise. Straightforward and unpretentious; no "big box" snobbery here. I've been coming to this guitar store for a little over a year now. I've gotten 4 guitars here, the staff is honest with their pricing, full of knowledge, and genuinely care about their regular customers. The employees there know be by name now and are always very helpful and welcoming. The store is small and homey. It is also somewhat private, which is my favorite quality. There is always a wide variety of unique/mainstream guitars. Definitely my first choice to shop when I'm gear hunting. read more

love this shop a decent collection of guitars both electric and acoustic the staff are friendly and very knowledgeable and the vintage guitars ARE available but to the right person. You either get it or you don't a guitar is a part of you or it isn't and doubly so for a vintage guitar. Classic amps line the walls beautiful old workhorse guitars in various stages or repair hang from racks and a relaxed atmosphere to simply pick up and play. Went in to look around and the repair tech (maybe his name was bill white?...not sure) wore me out with his opinionated, holy'r than thou sarcastic attitude. I tried to to turn the conversation but his snaggle tooth remarks kept coming. I turned around and left, he followed me out the door into the rest of the upstairs mall and kept on his battering on how great he was and how much knowledge he had. Rude, crude and socially unacceptable, I say. Will not go back. You decide. But this was a most uncomfortable experience to say the least. Check the place out for your self and you decide. Pretty good selection of stuff but the old pieces are "NOT FOR SALE" as I was rudely told. I wished the guy a good day and "good luck", the guitar repair person/tech he told me abruptly, "I don't need any luck". as I was walking away. read more

Santa brought my daughter a little guitar and very quickly, a string broke. We headed over to this shop to get it fixed. The man who helped us was very nice and quickly replaced the string. I had several very basic questions and he was happy to answer them. We will definitely return if we need any more help or supplies in the future. They also have a music school, so if my daughter remains interested in guitar, I may look into it when she becomes old enough (7+). Finding good personalized service these days is hard. My wife had bought a basic child's guitar(1/2 sized) guitar off Amazon. After going through two sets of strings and lots of frustration I went here for help. The owner, Todd Lawson, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and compassionate. He kindly explained the reason I struggled was the smaller guitars can't handle the tension the same as full size. He offered to sell me new strings and restring it for a reasonable price. During the process we found one of the machine heads was damaged. Initially the parts were found at the Watauga store but with Christmas quickly approaching, he offered to work on it Sunday or Monday(I was here Saturday) to have it ready ASAP. He eventually found parts at this location and swapped them out. He was fair with his pricing and made it apparent he wants to earn your business.
