Our install was not the best experience due to the distributor cancelling our order for some…read morereason. We picked out our flooring two months in advance, and Abraham said that the distributor must have assumed that it was canceled because the install was not until two months later. I did not hear from them in the weeks leading up to our install so I called a week in advance to see if we were still good to go and they assured that everything was still set for the date we picked. Anyways, my husband had taken the week off of work and they only had enough engineered hardwood flooring to do one room. They went ahead and did the carpet in the bedrooms by Friday of that week. They didnt start on the rest of the house until the following Monday. So we had to takeoff work again, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The workers showed up on time on Monday to rip up the flooring. They didn't show up until noon on Tuesday to install the new flooring so they were still working up until 8 o'clock that night and were still not finished by that evening so they had to come back out Wednesday morning to finish. Needless to say this drug on for almost 2 weeks with our house being turned upside down, not being able to get to our stuff or Cook in our kitchen. I requested that Abraham hire a cleaning service to clean our house because we both had to go back to work and didn't have time to put it back together until the following weekend. He agreed and he did send someone out the next day and they did an impeccable job cleaning the house and getting rid of the dust. I will say had the distributor not canceled our order, we probably would've had a better experience and it would've been done in a timely manner. I think that it's a reputable place and they're honest people. They could work on their communication skills a little better. Would I recommend them again yes because overall the work was good and they did try to make it right after the mistake happened.

BACKGROUND: We were recommended to a flooring company by our realtor and I got frustrated by the untimely communication between us and his company. Finally I made the decision w/ my wife to end it right then and there and set an appointment with Siegfried (owner) who was very professional and sounded very competent over the phone. COMMUNICATIONS Let me tell you how impressed we were. After my initial phone call w/ Siegfried, I set an appointment and asked my wife to reconsider and meet Design Floors. Siegfried was always on the spot with anything we asked for. He even provided samples for my wife to take back to our new home and we laid them out on our floor to decide. We finally settled on a color and made an installation appointment. One thing we appreciated is how fast he would answer our questions. If it wasn't by phone, it would be text. INSTALLATION / CREW My wife was representing us at our home and keeping her keen eye on things. She was especially pleased, and as a former corporate interior designer, she knows where companies/contractors will short cut installs. According to her, they did everything right. We put in vinyl flooring throughout the entire home except the master bathroom (we have pets; i have bad allergies) and it looks gorgeous. Because our house was completely empty, they were able to finish our 2,400 sq ft home in 3 days. Might be longer if you have furniture. The crew was led by a man named Elly (sp?) and he and the guys were very respectful of our home and took care to make sure things were clean after every day. They took away all the refuse from the demo and took away boxes and other misc sundries after each work day. Siegfried arranged the plumber whose prices were competitive with market rate. There was an accident (small hole in wall) while moving a piece of heavy furniture but Siegfried decided to take care of it on his own dime. Wow, we were impressed! PRICING Speaking of pricing, his rates were competitive with the 3 other shops I called for estimates. PICS These are just a few shots. Our place looks amazing and we can't wait to move in!

I had the unfortunate circumstance of having to completely rip out a fairly new, 3 year old shower…read morethat was done by the previous owner. Since the floor tile was cracking and coming up, I contacted several remodelers (10+) and everyone had an opinion on what was happening and most tried to scare me into booking on the spot. The problem was that most of them were disrespectful, either calling me honey or sweetheart, talked down to me, or just never provided a quote. One had the nerve to tell me they wouldn't meet with me unless my husband was there. Well, I'm not married. So... Anyway, Matthew was delightful. He spoke to me like I was a human being, answered my questions and was always good at communicating next steps in the process. And since the problem wasn't as bad as anticipated he even called to offer me a small refund on the work they didn't have to do. I instead tipped the tile guy with it. Now, I would be lying if I said we didn't hit a snag. There was a significant leak after the completion of the project and Matthew had the tile crew and the shower door guys out to take care of it. This right here is the reason they deserve all 5 stars. I felt heard, was taken care of and I came out the other side ecstatic.

Also, their statement "We will do everything we can to meet your expectations" is completely incorrect. If I request something to be done it shouldn't be questioned, especially since I'm the customer. I brought in another company to complete my project and they reviewed what was already completed. They would not progress the project further until the previous work that was completed was corrected. I can't speak for any of their other service crews for flooring and tiling but I would be worried about their GC doing your job. The customer shouldn't have to GC the GC they hired. Hire at your own risk.

Foster's Hardwood Servic'e came in and cleaned, buffed and applied a "poly" finish to our floors and they are beyond gorgeous now. The employees were always on time, courteous and helpful. They quoted me a price, asked for half up front and then proceeded to destroy my wood floors. They didn't sand them properly, then slopped on furniture stain and left it for three days. It still hadn't dried, you could see parts of the previous varnish on the floors. So there solution was to slop on some more furniture stain and leave it. After taking $1,100 from me they just didn't show up to finish the job. No calls, nothing. It cost me $3,000 to repair the damage they did to my floors. They are unprofessional, Jeff was talking to everyone who would listen to him about pot, always late (when they bothered to show up) and obviously had no idea what they were doing. It took them over a week to mess up my floors, it took two and a half days to get them fixed by professionals. And to make matters worse they ruined a sheet of plywood that I was planning on returning to Lowe's because they grabbed it (without asking) and set it up across my sawhorses and stained the quarter round on it. I had stripes of stain across my plywood, rendering it nonreturnable, and stain all over my saw horses! They got stain all over my freshly painted walls and baseboards, I had a big hand print on my wall from Jeff. I even had stain on my bathroom cabinets - a room they weren't doing the floors in! I had to have two rooms and my hallway repainted because of them. If you don't like your house and just want it ruined and your money taken, then I'd use them. Otherwise, don't.

Re-tile a kitchen floor, counterops, and backsplash...how hard could that be??? Well, I quickly realized that even tough the boxes said "easy install" granite, It wasn't gonna be that easy. So where do I find someone last minute that can cover up the incredible demo job I succeeded at???? CRAIGS LIST!! Wow, what a scary process. I scrolled through ad after ad for floor installers, just hoping to find one that might be legible, or day I say "professional" enough to even think about giving them a call. It wasn't a big job in the grand scheme of things, but I spent some decent money on the slate floor tile, the granite counter tiles and some really cool glass mosaic for the backsplash, I wanted to be confident in the installers. I made a few calls and got a few bids. I made a call to a young man who sounded like a bit of a hard luck case. He convinced me he could handle the job and his crying child in the background made me feel for him a bit. Against the better judgement of some people, I gave him a shot. Long story short, he pulled up in the passenger seat of someone else's car, with a new trowel and a bag of spacers in hand..."LETS DO THIS!!" Next. Enter Ed and Jeff. These guys gave me a pretty solid estimate via email(that was written very well i might add) and after they came by to look at it, I was convinced these were my guys. The job turned out to be quite a bit more than they initially bargained for, but they didn't say a word. They just put they're heads down and hammered away. I was very impressed and we renegotiated for some extra work that I added after the fact. All of the granite cuts were precise, they leveled out the countertops and the floors perfectly, and they even cut out some new trim pieces out of the left over granite. I can't wait to do some more work to the house and down the road, have them do a complete remodel on our future home!! Thanks guys!
