SUMMARY: Incredibly professional, incredibly thorough, and incredibly competent. We are so lucky that we did a little bit more searching when our almost-flooring guy wasn't very responsive and we gave Design Floors an opportunity. Glad we did. 5 enthusiastic stars! BACKGROUND: We were recommended to a flooring company by our realtor and I got frustrated by the untimely communication between us and his company. Finally I made the decision w/ my wife to end it right then and there and set an appointment with Siegfried (owner) who was very professional and sounded very competent over the phone. COMMUNICATIONS Let me tell you how impressed we were. After my initial phone call w/ Siegfried, I set an appointment and asked my wife to reconsider and meet Design Floors. Siegfried was always on the spot with anything we asked for. He even provided samples for my wife to take back to our new home and we laid them out on our floor to decide. We finally settled on a color and made an installation appointment. One thing we appreciated is how fast he would answer our questions. If it wasn't by phone, it would be text. INSTALLATION / CREW My wife was representing us at our home and keeping her keen eye on things. She was especially pleased, and as a former corporate interior designer, she knows where companies/contractors will short cut installs. According to her, they did everything right. We put in vinyl flooring throughout the entire home except the master bathroom (we have pets; i have bad allergies) and it looks gorgeous. Because our house was completely empty, they were able to finish our 2,400 sq ft home in 3 days. Might be longer if you have furniture. The crew was led by a man named Elly (sp?) and he and the guys were very respectful of our home and took care to make sure things were clean after every day. They took away all the refuse from the demo and took away boxes and other misc sundries after each work day. Siegfried arranged the plumber whose prices were competitive with market rate. There was an accident (small hole in wall) while moving a piece of heavy furniture but Siegfried decided to take care of it on his own dime. Wow, we were impressed! PRICING Speaking of pricing, his rates were competitive with the 3 other shops I called for estimates. PICS These are just a few shots. Our place looks amazing and we can't wait to move in! read more

Design floors did our living room.and kitchen flooring. Great selection and professional service.

Another great job by Design Floors! This was the second job they completed for us and it looks great! We were replacing carpet on a raised area that was next to an area with wood look tile that had been discontinued. We wanted to go with a brick tile that coordinated. Siegfried suggested this color and it is perfect! They completed the job in 2 days and we are super happy! read more

DO NOT USE as John Carroll, the business owner, refuses to be accountable for what I qualify as poor quality of labor. Example concerns I presented to John: Floors were installed without regard for manufacturer installation instructions resulting in a void of warranty, boards laid askew from other boards, and boards misaligned from being squared with home. Having to take legal action. I sent him numerous additional screenshots beyond what I have attached to this review depicting concerns across my home. He insulted me by calling me irrational. I will let the publics opinion of this business' quality of work determine the rationality. In my observation, it seems John is happy to remediate concerns that likely wouldn't significantly impact profitability. However, I feel that if the concern presented is significant he will dispute it or offer to remediate it in a way that is not aligned to my 100% satisfaction as the business claims will be done on their website. For example, I expressed boards were not laid straight/properly aligned resulting in cascading gaps across my floor. He claimed the gaps are caused due to expansion/shrinkage of materials and that they would provide scientific literature from the manufacturer with further explanation. After I had ceased direct contact with John, he provided me with documentation from the National Wood Flooring Association, which I'm honestly not sure if he read or not, because in my interpretation of the materials he sent, the gaps on my floor are categorized as ABNORMAL GAPS caused when boards are not laid with intent. Added a screen shot of part of the artifact. I want to be clear that the previous paragraph is only further detail of 1 of multiple outstanding concerns I have. I have updated my review in order to ensure that all statements can be proven in fact or that the statements are clearly expressing that they are my opinion. I have done this because John contracted an attorney who wrote me a demand letter requesting I remove or retract information from my reviews. Instead of outright removing my post, I have chosen to willingly comply with one of the demands in the letter and I will continue to exercise my First Amendment Right. I will continue to update my review with progress related to this dispute so local patrons can formulate their own opinions, based on my opinions and experiences, regarding who they contract to do work in their cherished homes. read more

We had Design Floor replace the tile in a couple of rooms & a hallway 18 months ago. Since they did a great job we decided to have them gut and redo our master bath Adam, Bernard, Giovanni, Leo, and the rest of the team did an outstanding job! They listened to our requests/concerns, communicated well, minimized their intrusion (as much as possible in a large remodel), and provided us the bathroom we wanted. The couple of minor issues we had, insufficient pressure on hand-held & awkward angle on the shower head (Moen's issues, not theirs) they solved quickly and professionally. I cannot overstate how happy we are with the work done and our new bathroom. read more

My wife and I recently bought a house and the floors were quite old. We went looking for new floors and after calling Design Floors, spoke with Siegfried. He was very knowledgeable over the phone and gave good advice. We went to see the showroom and found lots of incredible options. Siegfried walked us through and showed us some options. He helped us take into account the floors upkeep based on our family's needs. He even steered us away from some of the more expensive flooring and talked us out of doing the most expensive things so I knew he wasn't just trying to upsell everything. He came to the house personally and did a free quote. After purchase, The crew came out and was fast and professional. Siegfried stopped by twice to inspect the work and make sure we were happy with the outcome. We couldn't be more pleased with how the floors turned out. Would definitely recommend. read more

We recently moved in and decided to replace the previous wood floor. Design Floors was highly recommended to us and I understand why after dealing with them. They have a wide selection to choose from in their store and the help was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The workers showed up on time and did a wonderful job installing the floors. They even went the extra mile to go out and replace a baseboard that was missing. Great company to deal with and would definitely recommend them. Laura from Denton. read more

Design Floors was excellent from the time I walked in the door for floor selection to installation completion. I could not be happier with my new floors in my bedroom, bath closet and on the stairs. They came out to measure and provided their expertise on what types of floors are typically installed in certain areas. Leo was wonderful during the entire process when I was selecting floor type. I didn't feel rushed or pressured to make a purchase at any point. The installers were amazing. They came every day early (which I didn't mind) and finished the entire project days before schedule. They wore their masks the entire time. They cleaned up every day when they left and once complete. Everyone who has walked into my house has commented on my floors. The pricing was competitive - not too high or low, but more importantly the service was outstanding. I couldn't be happier. read more

We partnered with Design Floors to replace our floor downstairs from dingy engineered hardwood to porcelain tile. This was a huge project that we planned for about a year, so we visited multiple vendors to ensure we were working with the right people. We decided on Design Floors given how knowledgeable, informative and honest the staff was - and I am beyond thankful that we did! Bryson was hands on with the project every step of the way and very patient with us when we paused or adjusted the project scope. The quality of work is amazing. Our floors are absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny we spent (and bonus: Design Floors was also the most reasonably priced). Please do yourself a favor and consider them when you do your next home project! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Desin Floors - from my initial walk through the door to the completion of project - professional all the way. Rholetta Lloyd was friendly and attentive. I came in with a sample of flooding installed by prior owner 5 years ago. She found a dead on match. I would bet that the new floor would match the old food seamlessly if they butted into each other! We pulled the carpet in the office, now quilting room and the upstairs loft area. Bernardo and crew were professional and best of all left the project clean, putting furniture back where they found it. They compled it in less time than estimated and did a GREAT job. I would recommend to any and everyone. I'm impressed!! Five stars seems inadequate. read more

We are very happy with our floors. It's been a couple of months and they are just fabulous . Siegfried was very patient with us, as we were deciding between carpet and laminate he had to come and measure several times and had samples to look at in the house. The installers were amazing! On time, worked hard and fast. They had to tear out carpet and tile they had it done and cleaned up in one day. We were told it would take 7 days, they were done in 4. They were courteous, smiling and cleaned up every day. I had gotten several bids and Floor Design included all the extras we hadn't thought about, and the 3" baseboards look amazing. we are very happy with our experience with Floor Design and highly recommend them. read more

The wood floor in my powder room needed repairs. I called several companies and got estimates. After receiving one review at a very lowball price I had decided to use that company but then they ghosted me. You can offer to do the work for free if you never show up. I called John, who had come out previously to provide an estimate, and we scheduled a time for the work to be done. On the day, Noe came out and and took the old flooring out down to the slab. He put down new sub flooring and then the wood flooring that exactly matched my original oak floor. The stain was questionable because the floor was so old. But Noe showed me some samples and I picked the darker color. They finished up the next day and it looks perfect. I'm so glad I had this company do the repair. They also fixed a couple of spots outside my kitchen where foster dogs had peed and caused the finish to crackle. It now looks perfect! This repair was done quickly, and Noe cleaned up everything before he left after the first day, then again the next day after he finished the job. Thank you, John and Noe, for the great job you did in my home. It looks perfect again! read more

Our experience with Siegfried Ehmke at Design Floors was amazing. We went into the showroom and he took the time to explain the differences in carpet so that I was able to make an informed decision about which carpet to choose. He is knowledgeable and honest. I went to the big box furniture store first and was not impressed with the customer service. From the moment we walked into Design Floors I knew I would choose them. The installers were great too. They were professional and everything was cleaned up and hauled away. I will recommend Design Floors to my friends and will definitely go back if I have any flooring needs. read more

We purchased a new home only to find water damage from the master shower into the master closet. You can imagine my devastation, but then, enter Siegfried from Design Floors. We just had all of our floors replaced, by Design Floors in Lewisville, with engineered wood and carpet as well as some stone work done. They were very eager and friendly and actively communicated via text and phone sending and receiving pictures of other options and such. Installation was good. A few of the boards are very slightly uneven but not noticeable enough to have them rip it all up and redo. The stone work didn't quite go in tightly enough and they couldn't be bothered to shave off the one little bit here and there that kept the pieces from fitting better. I had to give them direction on how to make it look better. The carpet install is great. I love the new look in our rooms. Overall, the flooring looks really good. If you do use them, be sure to double check with your own eyes exactly what is on the bid and what you agree to as we had a misunderstanding that the owner proactively stepped in and took care of. read more

We had floors replaced as part of water damage restoration and Design Floors was chosen by our contractor. We got lucky, because we couldn't be happier about working with them. I have done a lot of renovations/upgrades to the inside and outside of my house over the years. Every time I use a company that comes highly recommended I have had a very good experience. I saw Design Floors recommended on Nextdoor and decided to use them to renovate my 2 bathrooms back in August 2017. They did an amazing job. I can not find one thing to complain about the work they did, it was flawless. Their attention to detail was incredible. I had them come back a couple of years later to replace my carpet and make some repairs to my laminate that was damaged due to a roof leak. Again, they did an incredible job. We shopped all of the competition from small to big, from Carrollton to Richardson and everything in between, over the span of a couple of months, looking for a reasonable bid to install laminate flooring in our house. While Design Floors' bid was slightly higher than the rest, the professional interactions with DF staff as well as the word-of-mouth through various review sites for DF cinched the deal. From the start, we felt very comfortable with the superb customer service from Design Floors. After the installation, we even went back to Design Floors to buy more laminate for DIY.
