I spent a good part of my childhood in Texas and was very used to strip mall donut shops called "DONUTS" that sold delicious donuts and my favorite meat kolaches. I have missed my Texas kolaches so much and to my surprise and excitement we have finally found a place that makes them, Texas style!!! They're a bit different from what I get at home, but honestly better. The cheddar jalapeño ones are the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. The kolaches are absolutely delicious and I am so happy I've finally found some in Virginia. The donuts are also amazing. Best apple fritter in Northern Virginia! I'm from Texas, have lived here for 15 years, and this is the first place I've had an apple fritter as good as the ones back home. And it's reasonably sized, too. Which means you'll have room for some of their other fantastic options. The only flavor that was even mildly disappointing was the blueberry. I don't really like anything at Dunkin' except their blueberry donut. Those I love. Texas Donuts' blueberry has a very different flavor. I came here to get a box of donuts and some other snacks. For myself I got a croissant sandwich with ham and cheese, which was very good. I also picked up half a dozen jalapeno sausage kolaches, they're sort of like a pig in a blanket, to share with other people. I had one and they are VERY good, although they could be a little spicier if they wanted to really keep me coming back. This area has its share of bakeries, but on the hot food front they don't tend to offer something unique. If you get the chance, come here and try the sausage kolaches. Maybe after a night of too many drinks. This will soak up any hangover. I should also mention I picked up some donuts. You'll never go back to Dunkin Donuts again after you eat these. We moved out here last year and we were looking for a good donut spot and we tried so many but they were either over the top or super commercial like Dunkin. This place has a great selection, they are always super fresh, and the service is excellent! Plus they had COVID measures in place early and we appreciated that. Really fair and good pricing, tried the vanilla iced coffee honestly speaking nothing special about it but i still drank it.
