We used to love Texas Burger--great food and quick service. But lately they've added a surprise twist: mystery pricing! Both recent visits, we were charged more than what's on the menu. The first time--at the West University location-after it was lightly pointed out, management did the classic "let's do anything but talk to the customer customer" move. Their excuse? "Prices went up, but we haven't updated the menus yet." Cool cool... so we're just guessing now? Still tasty burgers, but until the price tags stop playing hide-and-seek, we'll be taking our appetite elsewhere. read more

I came to this location again recently after several months out of the area to find that the place had been completely rebuilt. Not remodeled, torn down and built completely new. The new restaurant is very modern and updated and is now quite likely the nicest fast food restaurant in Odessa. If you haven't been lately, you should check it out. I phoned ahead my order as I had a limited time to spend to pick it up, and my food was waiting when I got there. I think the normal thing is for the shakes to be prepared ahead of time, but it seems someone dropped the ball on that this particular time, but the person helping me with my order was apologetic and quick to get it made and send me on my way. I was pleased to see they have larger straws for their milkshakes, and the food was as usual for this chain, quite tasty. With the new updated facility and apparently good new customer service training program for their employees, I will certainly be back often when I need a quick meal. read more

Great burger old country style almost like it better then whataburger highly recommend

This is not a japanese place, SO it is listed in the wrong category on yelp! lol The burgers are huge, they give you a pepper with your burger. The spicy fries were not even spicy, I had better seasoned fries. The jalapeno cheddar burger was not as good as it sounded, it just tasted like jalapenos...i thought the jalapenos would be in the meat itself but they just spread it on the meat. Blah! read more

Good place. Good food. Reasonable prices. My only concern is the ice cream station. I know they have it posted that there are items with nuts, ect but I'm pretty sure they are not supposed to use one scoop for all the ice creams. Maybe I'm wrong. I'd like to see them use one for ice creams with nuts, ect and a separate one for non nut creams. Just me probably. read more

A recent visit to Texas Burger I order the ham and cheese sandwich after I brought it back to the table I took it apart and only found one very small thin sliced piece of ham the rest was bread - lettuce - tomatoes seeing this I threw it in the trash as I wanted more meat in the sand which- so guess I'll stick to the hamburgers where I get more for my money than bread cheese lettuce and tomatoes read more

I have no idea why this place doesn't rate better than it does. Their burgers are very juicy with numerous options such as pepper jack cheese, jalapeños, spicy fries, onion rings etc. This is not a typical fast food place like McDonald's or Burger King. It is quality food. I will definitely be back to enjoy other options they provide like their club sandwich and tater tots. The staff do a great job of table prep cleanliness. read more

So my wife pulls into the drive thru tonight at about 10 minutes til closing and by the time it's her turn to order at 10:02, she's rudely told by an employee that they're closed. They apparently had no problem helping the people in front of my wife but can't take my wife's order because all of a sudden they're closed? I don't think so. My wife got there before closing so you can take her order too. You picked the wrong person to mess with. We will be making a complaint about that. read more

Not unusually large, not different from any ordinary burger.They skimped on the fries, and costs a third more than most places, with nothing to show for the pricey menu. I ordered the jalapeño burger, with the spicy fries, wouldn't complain if it was a 7 dollar meal, but 10 bucks for a burger and small fry and drink? Just stopped here for a quick bite to eat. The inside was a little trashy but the service was ok. It was pretty quick service but the quality wasn't anything to write home about. I had the chili cheese dog that tasted like it was from a gas station. Not bad, just not great. The Frito pie was alright, not worth the money. The onion rings were pretty good and so were the fries. The burgers weren't anything special. A lot of bread with small burgers; not put together well. I wouldn't recommend this place... Whataburger is far superior for the same price. read more

The Double meat double cheese with jalapeños never fails to disappoint me. I keep looking for other great burgers in the area and although there are good ones out there Texas Burger comes up at the top of the list. The jalapeño makes it number one in my book. Plus the crinkle cut fries are fabulous. I know others love the spicy curly fries or the tater tots, the crinkle cut fries take me back to the lunch counters and diners of the 60's and 70's. read more

We always loved Texas Burger and we've continued going even as the prices grew. Tonight though is the worst experience. They changed the burger bun to a smaller bun (no big deal), except this bun tasted awful and two burgers with one order of fries and one of onion rings was almost $20. Not worth it. This was an absolutely unacceptable experience. The only employee that did well was the nice young man that rang up our order. We went to the drive thru at about 1:00 pm on August 11. Ordered about $30 in food for myself, my partner and our young son. We almost had all of our food before we looked closer and saw the woman in the window making drinks and putting orders together had a very large bandage on her finger and no gloves on. Throughout the time we were waiting, she repeatedly licked her hand and fingers after touching screens and soda fountain buttons, touching food and pouring some kind of cherry syrup on the back of her hand to lick off as well. Another girl came up and started bare handed picking limes and squeezing juice into drinks. After we finally got their attention long enough to get the manager called over, she told us "but your food is almost ready!" When we asked for a refund and that "all our employees wear gloves!" all while standing right next to the girl with the wound who still isn't wearing gloves. Absolutely will not return. read more

Very good burger. Fries were good and about 6 different choices. The ice cream was delicious. The staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was clean. The total price of our order was a little high for 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 large drinks, 1 banana split, and a hot fudge sundae. Total cost was $32. read more
