What was intended to be a joyful family outing turned into a distressing experience due to the conduct of the camp host. My father-in-law and his wife had made a reservation at Juniper Campground for the weekend and invited my family to join them--myself, my two sons, and our grandchildren. We were all excited to spend quality time together and to try out our newly purchased travel trailers. As first-time trailer owners, this was meant to be a fun and educational experience before the camping season ended. Unfortunately, I had previously purchased concert tickets for an event at Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls scheduled for Saturday evening. My sons and I decided to briefly leave the campground to attend the concert and return afterward. We left in the early evening and returned around 10:20 PM. Upon arrival, we found the second entry gate--through which we had originally entered--locked with a padlock. We then drove to the first gate, which had rising arms and red LED lights, but it did not respond. I exited the vehicle to search for an intercom or manual override, but found none. While attempting to look up a contact number, a white truck with an orange cone in the back approached rapidly. The driver, who identified himself as the camp host, immediately confronted me in an aggressive and profane manner. He shouted, "What the hell are you doing at my gate?" I calmly explained that we were campers returning from a concert and were trying to re-enter the campground. He responded with hostility, saying, "The gates are locked at 10 PM. Didn't you read the rules?" I replied that we had not received any rules, as my 78-year-old father-in-law had checked in first and inadvertently failed to pass them along while we were focused on setting up our trailers. The host continued to berate me, accusing me of lying and using profanity such as "Bullsh*t, everybody receives the rules." When asked for our campsite number, I was momentarily unsure, as my father-in-law had directed us to our spot upon arrival. While I searched for the information, the host continued to question our motives, saying, "Why are you leaving and returning to the campsite this time of night?" I explained our concert plans, only to be met with further disbelief and ridicule. He mocked my Van Halen t-shirt and claimed, "Nobody goes camping to leave for a concert," and "Those bands sucked. The last time I saw Van Halen was in 1979." At this point, I attempted to clarify our situation, but the host warned me that if I raised my voice, he would not allow us back into the campground. After locating a screenshot of our reservation details, I showed it to him. He finally allowed us entry and handed me a printed copy of the rules, stating, "Next time, read the rules." This interaction left me feeling humiliated, belittled, and treated as though I were a criminal. The camp host's behavior was not only unprofessional but bordered on harassment. I understand the importance of rules and quiet hours, but they should be enforced with courtesy and respect--not hostility and profanity. I am deeply disappointed by this experience and will not be returning to Juniper Campground. I'm leaving this review to ensure others are aware of the treatment we received. Guests deserve to feel safe and welcomed--not intimidated or verbally abused.

The family who run it have been in the industry for 40 years and are passionate about every aspect of the Inn. The feeling when you enter the lobby and dining area is so welcoming and charming! We stayed in the Harlequin room which the owner told us that Cosmopolitan magazine declared in 2005 that the view from the balcony was the most romantic in the nation. I'd have to agree. We sat out there every night with a glass of wine. The trees rustled slightly in the soft wind, birds chirped happily and the soothing sound of the creek makes for a very enchanting place. Add the incredible view and you don't want to leave. The room was very large, nicely decorated with every amenitie we could ever think of. The owners are remodeling the rooms, so it could be even nicer when you book. The outside of the Inn is so charming and inviting. The house was beautiful and had an amazing view of the Tetons from a large backyard. We have kids and they were beyond accommodating with having multiple high chairs, cribs, and a pack n play in the house ready for our arrival. The house did not have air conditioning which I think is fine for the majority of the time, but it was in the high 80s while we were there and there were a few nights that were incredibly hot upstairs. They did have multiple fans in every single bedroom which was nice. This wouldn't stop me from staying there again but a few things that I was surprised about... -3 of the 4 bath tubs had the stop drain removed so you couldn't fill them for kids to take a bath -one of the closets had an opening to the attic and there was insulation kind of hanging down out of it -the beds were all made with an insane amount of blankets, comforters, etc. I'm assuming they use the same bedding year round -the hot tub was closed for repairs, but no one seemed to be repairing it -it's $75 for a key to turn on the firepit... We booked the horseback riding online for 4 people. Unfortunately one person was unable to make it and we were able to have another family member take his place. Our guide was Hannah and she was amazing! She was incredibly helpful, shared a ton of facts and information along the way, and was really kind. There's an indoor pool/hot tub, but we didn't end up taking advantage of those. We were lucky to have a parking spot right outside the cabin door for our whole visit, which was convenient. They don't assign parking spots, but there were quite a few open when we were there. The cabin was cozy and clean. I wouldn't recommend it for more than two people, although it can technically sleep up to four with a couch that converts to a bed. The bathroom was clean and the shower was great, with plenty of hot water for us. The location is excellent; you're only a ten minute walk or so from downtown, so we didn't have to drive very much while in the area. Be sure to check out the Momo Shack for bison momos (dumplings)! I loved staying here and would check it out again if I'm back.

The accommodations were extremely nice, one of the best during our 10-day drive. You're within walking distance from some restaurants, the town is cute, the rooms are clean and equipped with kitchenettes, and toiletries are provided. However, while sitting outside with my dog, a man approached me (despite my dog barking at him he continued to approach) to inform me that cats were not allowed and he would be reporting us. I truly had no idea and made this clear, I figured he worked there but based on his responses to my questions ("is there anything we can do about it?" "I don't know, just don't let them find out but I'm still reporting you") I think he was actually a random person staying there. It honestly hit the point where he was harassing me for about 5 minutes about it, it wasn't a productive conversation and left me a bit distraught because I truly had no clue. We searched everywhere for something that outright said there were no cats allowed, because we are truly not people who like to do the wrong thing and felt horrible, and the way this man kept telling us he was going to be reporting us made me very concerned we were going to be kicked out of our accommodation at 11pm. I've seen other reviews that say the same thing: if cats outright are not allowed, this really needs to be made clear on the website. On the official websites for Cowboy Village, it either says pet-friendly or dog-friendly, and perhaps we should've been able to read between the lines and assume that meant no cats allowed, but that shouldn't be the customer's job.
