Great spot. We've fished with Rob several times and the Salt is a great fishery. Generally not 20+" fish but a lot of aggressive cutthroat trout. Rob is a great guide and Jamie is a perfect host. The cabins are in great shape & maintained well. We stayed in cabin 1 - couples cabin, which was plenty big for the two of us and we used the grill for steaks one night.

Multiple water crossings made us all laugh so hard at the horses enjoying a little splashing time on the hot day!

Hands down the best trail riding experience EVER! The horses were very well behaved, the guide (Blake) was absolutely fantastic and super personable, and the location was beautiful! We were a group of 7 (ranging from age 17 to 46) and we travel together quite a bit. Whenever we travel, we go riding someplace and have typically had really great experiences. Rockin' M blew every other ride out of the water! It was so much fun! We did the 3hr BBQ ride. The burgers were really yummy and Blake was the perfect host! If you didn't have an amazing time on a ride here- you'd have to be going out of your way looking for reasons to gripe. It was top notch all the way! Rob met us when we arrived and he was also a real neat guy. We all LOVED our horses and even our one first time rider was really comfortable and had nothing but fun! THANK YOU, Rockin' M Ranch, for such a wonderful experience! We will DEFINITELY BE BACK!

My husband and I absolutely loved our horseback riding trip with Stassie. We booked the 3 to 4 hour ride and WoW! We had a blast and the views were amazing. Our lunch was so perfect at the top of the hill and freshly cooked. You have to experience horse riding here. We rode Moose aka Dutch and Duke. They were great horses and we even went through the water stream. I mean talk about a highlight moment on our trip!! We will definitely come back and ride again with you. Thank you for the memorable experience.

Had an amazing 3 hour ride with lunch. The scenery was so beautiful. Our trail guide Lexi was pretty chill and fun. I would say of all the trail rides we've been on, this one is a close first place to our ride in Banff, Canada ride. They have cabins for rent as well and we've already decided that will be our next stay. Highly recommended!!

Love the rockin M We will be back!!

Well the rockin M is a wonderful ranch great views nicely decorated cabins fire pits horse shoes fishing ponds and more but when you stay at a place like this the people who run it make the visit!!! Rob , Jamie and their daughters treated us so very well and don't let me forget to tell you about the two cowboys running the horse back riding those two wrangler are two fine young men with plenty of horse knowledge to make you feel safe while riding. So bottom line I give the rockin m a 5 stars Thank you for a great family get away!!

Incredible place! I'm in the middle of my week-long stay here with my family and we couldn't love this place more. Amazing horse back rides, fishing, and the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen! We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Rob and Jamie for creating such an incredible experience. We love it here.

My nephew and I, first timers, appreciated Boots expertise and his patience. We began our 4 hour fly fishing experience at Jackson Lake dam (where we spotted a grizzly!) and floated down the Snake River. Just as fabulous as the fly fishing experience was, it was equally as wonderful to be floating down the Snake River through scenic, majestic landscape, and hear the sounds of wildlife and the running, gurgling Snake River. The stunning landscape is forever imbedded to a lovely memory. Boots taught us casting techniques, strategies and and tactics, and he tied our flies for us. He is an outstanding teacher because my nephew and I both caught, and reeled in, a Snake River Fine-spotted Cutthroat Trout. Snake River Angler services: *Fly Fishing Lessons, 2.5 hours on the water learning about casting, fly selections, knots, fish handling and etiquette. *Half day Guided Fishing, Up to 4 hours of Guided fishing on the water - 2 people per boat/guide. *Full day Guided Fishing, Up to 8 hours of Guided Fishing on the water - 2 people per boat/guide Lunch included. Luckily, for me, I didn't have to shop any more after this because JD High Country Outfitters had a large selection of women's shoes and I found two pairs I actually liked a lot. I thought the pricing was fair for the area and the high end nature of the shoes. I bought a pair of Sorrel waterproof sneakers for $120. They were marked up about $35 more than Sorrel's website which is about normal for retailers like this. The only real problem I had was with the service here. I tried my best to not get mad but I was fuming by the end of this experience. I'll try to give them some grace and say that maybe I wasn't forward enough in pushing other people out of the way to get them to bring me shoes from downstairs but a place with great customer service wouldn't need that. I also can say well, they were young men, who didn't seem to care about their jobs but again, why work here if you don't want to help people.

Well, what can I say more about JD High Country Outfitters!!!…read moreI was walking around Jackson, trying not to buy anything which I did a great job of and not even eating in the restaurants. I really saved a lot of money keeping it simple because I only came here to camp, fish and hike anyway. But when I saw JD high country outfitters, I had to walk in because I love stores that cater to the hiking, fishing, camping outdoors supplies. As soon as I walked in the young man behind the counter was very smart. He said hey we're having a half off sale on socks. And I was looking for sox specifically. I passed so many stores in Jackson that had little cheap souvenir socks all charging around the same price $12-$14 and the really good socks were more but not that special and all the same . When I walked in here, they had the wonderful brand that I bought before which is a good hiking brand, thick well-made socks made in the USA thank goodness and they were HALF PRICE!!! I proceeded to buy eight pairs of socks. It was totally worth it. I couldn't believe I was so lucky to find them. I will be stocked up forever with good quality socks. In the winter, I wear pure wool socks that I knit myself but the rest of the year and for hiking, I use good well-made quality hiking socks, which they had. I also want to mention that the store was stocked. It was in excellent condition and they had high end items, beautiful items that I buy here and there as I can afford them, but so worth it. Upstairs, they had a whole gun store with ammunition, binoculars, knives and fishing rods, and all sorts of fishing and hunting supply. Downstairs they had your typical camp and hike items. They even had a rack of Patagonia jackets on sale which I could not believe. I just knew I could not buy more stuff right now. And I had two jackets But they had $200 Patagonia jackets marked off 30% to 70%. I also want to give out a shout to the really nice lady that was working in the shoe department who had I believe short strawberry blonde hair she was so nice and she helped me with the socks while she was helping people with shoes and sandals. She is a benefit to have you always want great employees like that and I want to just say that her and the guy behind the counter in the front were really great. I think the guy behind the counter in the front was brunette and very helpful. Lastly, I love the large paper bag that they gave me with their insignia on it. It's so well-made. I am now using it to store my early winter kitling next to my fireplace here in Oregon. Thanks for being such a great store. I really enjoyed my visit there.
