I Just found out I have celiac disease and this place lured us in with a gluten-free menu. I ordered a gluten-free pasta with mushrooms and cream sauce and what I got was pasta chopped up in tiny pieces as if for a five year-old and covered in oil. There was no cream sauce. There was no cream at all. Just oil that won't leave my mouth for three days. I feel like my gums are covered in oil. My husband got chicken Parmesan and only ate a third of it complaining that it was nasty. It was burnt and he said it seemed like it had been cooked and then reheated and cooked again and again. He said it tasted like it was put out for lunch and then reheated and served for dinner. Do yourself a favor and stay far far far away from this dump. They won't make it another year. They'll go out of business serving this trash which is where these two entrées ended up tonight - in the trash uneaten. And who chops up pasta into tiny little pieces like they're preparing it for a toddler? Not to mention they didn't include any bread with our $26 entrees. What kind of Italian restaurant doesn't serve bread? That's like Italian 101.

We had a birthday coupon and we wanted to try this place. The decor is quirky! Colorful and both inside and outside. We had a newer server but he was doing great. We started with a burrata dip and toasted bread. You could just have this! It was sooooo good! The pizza came out really charred. I know they use a coal fire but this was inedible. My daughter tried to eat it but I said something to the waiter. The manager came over. Took the pizza and had a fresh one made to take home. I see they have happy hour can't wait to go back!!

Everything about my experience here was A1, from parking in front of the door to leaving a 1pm Brunch reservation happy and well feed at 6pm. Yes, you read that correctly! All foodies have that one foodie friend that makes life njoyable and easy. The two of us ventured over to Testa Rossa and here's what happened... If you're in the true foodie club, you know it's a must to sample multiple food and beverage menu items in order to fully appreciate a restaurants culinary flare. So without further ado... I must start with a major celebratory shout out for the staff! Giant Kudos to the hostess, Teya (our amazing server), Hunter (bartender extraordinare), Jatan (manager), and the wonderful food runners. Superb customer service, smiling faces, and kindness is what we were met with and it lasted the full 5 hours. What We Ate: Caprese Dip - roasted tomato, mozzarella, grilled cibatta, aged balsamic (Teya recommended, foodie approved ) Polenta & Meatballs - beef & pork meatballs, marinara, whipped ricotta, mozzarella Calimari Fritti - lemon aioli, pickled peppers, arugula Mozzarella Sticks - hand breaded mozzarella, vodka sauce, calabrian hot honey Tiramisu French Toast - espresso battered brioche, mascarpone mousse, marinated strawberries, cocoa powder Smoked Salmon Flatbread - (which is not a flatbread as you may expect but a 10 inch pizza ) herbed cream cheese, hard boiled egg, red onion, capers, salsa verde Angry Crab Linguine - (1/2 portion) blue crab, red onion, english peas, spicy crab sauce, lemon Gnocchi Alfredo - (1/2 portion) shrimp, sweet corn, fresh basil, crispy onion No Brunch is complete without clinking glasses ... What We Drank: Mocktail: Primaberry Lemonade - blueberry, lemon Cocktails: Leave the Gun, Take the Banana (word play on The Godfather's, 'leave the gun, take the cannoli',genius!) - bourbon, dark rum, creme de banana, coffee liqueur Lavender Espresso Martini - lavender vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso garnished with fresh lavender buds Dante Sour - it's heaven, purgatory, & hell in a glass! And for DESSERT: freshly made tableside tiramisu Run... Don't walk to Testa Rossa in Glen Mills!

Gnocchi Alfredo

Stopped by for dinner and had a pretty good experience overall. The focaccia was super soft with a nice salty sprinkle on top, simple but really tasty and definitely a highlight. I got the gnocchi Alfredo, which was just okay. Nothing bad, just not super exciting. The "small" portion was actually a decent size, just enough to fill me up without feeling stuffed. The best part of the meal was the tiramisu. It came served in a coffee mug and the ladyfingers were soaked in coffee just right.

This Testa Rossa location is new and is definitely a unique vibe. The overall decor inside and out is retro yet modern. The staff was very attentive and checked in on us often. They even did table side tiramisu! I went with a group of 10 and there were no problems or mix ups. The appetizers were all really delicious, the pasta entrees were well prepared, and the entrees including meat were well cooked and seasoned. There were several great cocktails but don't expect a stateside or anything like that, you will not find it. The waiter was very informative and mentioned that all wine served are from Italy. A great experience, a little pricey, but worked great for our party.

Bread for Caprese Dip

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. I was so antsy to write this review so others could hurry and try it out. I appreciate that we were seated at our reservation time. Sometimes restaurants will have you wait past your reservation time while they clean a table off, but Testa Rossa was ready for us. It meant a lot. The host also kindly acknowledged that we needed a vegetarian menu. Testa's interior will take your breath away. I believe it was formerly a diner but the way it is decorated makes you feel like you're in a 1970's style oasis. Completely stunning! Our appetizer was the Caprese Dip. 100% suggest getting this. It will have your mouth watering and tastes like pizza in the form of a dip. The bread was crispy and fresh. I chose a brunch entree - Eggs in Purgatory. It reminded me a lot of Shakshouka. The eggs were smothered in a very tasty sauce served with a side of bread. It's the absolute comfort meal. I can't forget our server, Ryan, who was flawless the entire time. Our drinks were refilled promptly and he cleared off the table quickly after we finished our appetizer. Finally, the cannolis for dessert. The cheesecake filling did not miss and the strawberries added a nice touch. It's the perfect shareable portion and won't have you feeling like you need to unbutton your pants afterwards. Testa Rossa has hired some true professionals. I hope they stay in business for years to come. I strongly recommend dining here.

We waited a little while after Testa Rossa first opened and I'm so glad we did - it really feels like they've hit their stride. The atmosphere on the fountain patio was absolutely perfect for date night at the end of summer.. one of the nicest patios anywhere. The Garlic Parm wings were some of the best I've ever had - the sauce was creamy and full of flavor. For entree, I got the Chicken Parm sandwich, which was phenomenal. I asked for the robolina on the side, and it ended up being a great move - dipping the sandwich added a unique flavor The side salad it came with was fresh and tasty, though having truffle fries as an option in the future would be a total game changer. My girlfriend got the Hawaiian pizza, which was super unique and delicious - definitely one of the standouts of the night. We finished with the twisted gelato, which was the perfect ending to this experience. The "Gondola Ride" cocktail was also top notch! All around, an amazing experience, and a standout from other spots in the area. Can't wait to go back.

Second visit and still love this place, especially the decor. The gazpacho was so good I forgot to take a photo. Our server looked so young but was so good and professional. Can't wait until they open their second location in Wayne, closer to home. Lots of interior pictures cause I love how all these different patterns work together. Kudos to the designer

Loved and can't wait to go back! I am always weary of trying new restaurants right when they open I usually wait until they settle in. I came to Testa Rosa a few weeks after opening and I am so impressed. The service was amazing our server was so friendly and had some great recommendations for us. The food was delicious we started with the cheese and meats ( I am vegetarian but my dad wanted meat and we asked for that on a separate dish which the kindly did no problem), I got the mushroom pizza which was so good and then cannoli for dessert which was one of the best desserts I have had in a long time. Earlier in the night we mentioned we were celebrating our birthdays and our server brought the dessert out with two candles for us which was so sweet. The space is so funky and cool, it looks so different than the old diner that used to be in that space! I am excited to go back soon and try some other dishes.

Bomboloni (Italian Donuts) 3 Dipping Sauces (Apple Compote, Hazelnut, Vanilla Pastry Cream)

First of all if your thinking of dining here - Don't Do It. It's a weird vibe! Best part was our Waitress Alice. She was very attentive and through. The food was lousy. Missing flavor and spices. The Cheesy Bread was bland. The Meatball Pizza needed more mozzarella and less Riccota. The Donuts were dry. This place loos trendy and the staff tries to make it enjoyable. But it has the loo of a diner from the outside and the inside reminded me of An Austin Powers set. The owner should have turned into a burger joint. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. I give this place 6 months. Unless they change the cooks or the menu. Keep it simple. Then work on making it exotic. It was crowded because it's new and exciting. But that's the only allure. The manager looks like he needs a clue. I love when you hear them give directions to the staff to tell the patrons. I can hear you buddy just tell me yourself.

Such a fun atmosphere and great food! My husband and I sat at the bar and had a few delicious cocktails. I enjoyed the Puglia Fizz and the Stach Hopper. The bartenders were really nice and helpful when deciding what to order. Had the caprese dip on recommendation of the bartender and it was amazing! It was of a spread than dip, but great flavors. The bread was wonderful, buttery, and light. Also had a meat lovers pizza (hold the peppers), and this also had great flavors and the dough was good. Then we had the bombolini (donuts with 3 dipping sauces). Great for splitting. Each of the sauces were tasty. Highly recommend coming here. Plenty of parking. Kind staff.

Bottoms up - great spot!

After seeing both signs, the construction, and a load of rave reviews, my wife and I decided to check out the new Testa Rosa in Glen Mills on an early Friday evening. The location, formerly Ruby's Diner, has ample parking and is gorgeous and spacious inside, with a covered outdoor patio for dining as well. We were seated promptly by the friendly hosts, and our service was excellent throughout the meal. The drink list is original, and even featured a few unique craft beer options I haven't seen too many other places. We started with the polenta & meatballs appetizer and the rosemary focaccia, both of which were lovely. I took the recommendation and had the angry crab linguine - wasn't overly spicy, and had enough seafood without being extra or overwhelming. The vibe inside was cool, and we enjoyed everything and will certainly be back. Thanks for a great dinner and night out!

Rigatoni alla Vodka
Lauren T.

Charming spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, featuring a sleek, modern vibe that's clearly designed for the trendy crowd. Service was friendly and attentive. While the food leaned on the pricier side, the quality varied-- the vodka sauce was underwhelming and could've used more depth. On the other hand, the cheesesteak pizza stood out with its flavorful, high-quality meat and satisfying balance of ingredients.

Really out of touch with quality and consistency for this price point. Next, the turkey sandwich, which isn't really a sandwich, more a closed turkey plate with bread and gravy slathered over it, which forces a knife and fork meal (not what I expected). Also, salmon salad is literally a chopped salad with mini shredded salmon. Why would you do that to a nice piece of fish? And the mushroom soup is a purée with no sign of pieces of mushroom. I still have my teeth, why do I feel like I'm eating baby food? I mean the taste was good but I feel like stumbled into a restaurant that panders to the blue hair population. Definitely won't return anytime soon. Note: the wait staff and front of the house are excellent, just wondering what's going on in the kitchen and menu planning. Hopefully spring will bring some positive change.

The principle does not sit well with us. The service, unfortunately, was not what I expect. He did get tables all at once, which I understand, but we felt like our table of 'only' two was a burden. I really do not like leaving a restaurant feeling like that. All in all, the food is always amazing from a taste perspective. The bar experience for a couple cocktails is also always great.
