Service is better than most places around here. Everyone is very friendly. The menu is a little small and quirky, but we have several things we really enjoy. Of note is the Chopped Antipasti Salad which we all love. Lots of good stuff in there. I really like the Pumpkin Cappellacci and my wife liked the Spinach Fettuccine and also the Half Roasted Chicken. We think they could use some more non-pasta, non-pizza entrees, though. I thought my entree was excellent as well as my dining partners. Our server explained the menu and made recommendations. Julia was cheerful, witty, caring & professional! When our entrées were taking longer than they should two managers, Matthew and Luke, came to our table, explained the situation and apologized. They were very friendly and very attentive and had a true concern that we enjoy our dining experience. The decor was nice, very comfortable seating. The lighting was a little too bright for my liking. All things considered. Had lunch at Testa Rossa recently and they pretty much checked all the boxes for me. Lunch was the Wedding Soup and Cavatelli. Both had just the right blend of a nod to tradition with contemporary sensibility. Plenty of tasty accoutrements and attention to detail going on. Service was really nice too. Food and drinks were great! Got the potato pizza and a salmon chopped salad (omg the croutons!) - it was evident that there were really high quality ingredients used everywhere. Got the melon berry smoothie and it had really yummy yogurt, mint and great fruits! The service was very friendly and attentive - it was perfect for getting into great convos with the friend I met there. The restaurant's decor is insanely well done. I went here for a work lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted at the door and sat immediately with a smile. The server was very friendly and informative. We started with the garlic knots and they came with 2 dipping sauces (red sauce and a white cheese) and they were good. I ordered the spicy crab linguini and it was delicious and unusual. It had bread crumbs and onions. It was great! They offer small and large portions on most of the pasta dishes and the small portion was plenty, especially for lunch. Everyone else at the table like their food too. One person at our table did not get exactly what they ordered and they immediately took it away to prepare the correct dish. In the mean time, a manager or supervisor came over to apologize and brought a small caesar salad for her to enjoy, so she wasn't the only one at the table not eating. Her new dish came out perfectly and she was very happy. They kept refilling our soft drinks without even asking. I am very excited to have found this place since it is right around the corner from my work. The decor is adorable! They have a nice outdoor patio. I will recommend Testa Rossa to all of my clients that are inquiring about a place to eat while staying in the area. The desserts looked delicious when they passed by our table. First, I need to address the terrible branding and font of marketing in the restaurant itself. No one in our party (ages 15-70) could make out the name of the restaurant. From a marketing perspective, a big miss. Driving through the parking lot or along Route 1 you can't make out what the business is - again, a big marketing miss. Food was fine for brunch. Nothing special, especially for the price. Also the additional 3% charge for using a credit card is tacky. Hide it in the price. I'm really surprised Fearless Restaurants is taking that approach. I love their other restaurants, and I haven't noticed it on those menus. Our service was really lackluster. Server never came back to check on us, didn't offer Parmesan like the other servers, etc. Everyone has an off day, so I am not going to hold that against the restaurant. Decor is cute and fun - I think they are really hoping to have a popular bar area since the majority of the space is dedicated to that. The alcohol selection is extensive. TBH we won't be returning, lots of other Italian options in the area at a lower price point and/or higher quality. read more

Enjoyed a nice birthday dinner with my tweens this week! We had to wait a few minutes for our table to be ready and when we arrived at our table, they had a complimentary appetizer waiting at our table. We had the focaccia and calamari as well-- these were both great! Our table ordered a few different pizzas and entrees. The pizzas were gobbled up quickly. My son teally enjoyed the cheesesteak pizza which had all the flavors of a cheesesteak. We also had some yummy desserts- different gelatos as well as the tiramisu. Enjoyed our first dining experience at Testa Rossa! We anxiously watched the new restaurant evolve from old diner into a new gem. The interior vibe is an eclectic mix of modernism and 50s decor with Italian vibes mixed in here and there. It's worth a visit just for the decor! Our meal began with the caprese dip appetizer. It was a delicious blend of roasted tomato, mozzarella and cream cheese. Not sure the ciabatta bread was grilled, but it as all very tasty! Our meals arrived shortly thereafter. Rigatoni alla vodka (half size) was generous in portion and quite flavorful. It included a few delicious meatballs. The meatball parm sandwich came in a seeded roll with melted cheese and a delicious sauce. Each meatball was tender and mild, not spicy, with a generous serving of sauce to enhance and not drown the sandwich. The sandwich came with a delightful side salad. We each enjoyed our meals. We opted for indoor dining due to the warm weather. The outdoor dining area screams Palm Springs mid century modern and we're more than ready for that vibe! Staff was attentive and friendly. Restaurant was clean and energetic with a good crowd of people at the dinner hour. Our appetizer arrived after other diners around us who arrived after we were seated and ordered the same menu item. My husband and I went there this evening. We were looking forward to a new restaurant in the area. I gave the waiter my allergies prior to looking at the menu. I realized after looking at the menu I was allergic to several items. I asked the waiter if they could remove the food I was allergic to. The waiter stated nothing could be taken out. What you order is what you get. We've never been to a restaurant where they wouldn't work with your allergies. When we told the waiter we were leaving since he couldn't work with my allergies, and he kept on insisting I pick an item that I didn't want. When my husband and I decided we were going to leave, all of a sudden he said wait for my manager. I hate to write a not so perfect review but I would be dishonest if I had. The food was honestly pretty good but a few things that I wanted to note for other customers dining here. First thing I noticed were that the cocktails that we had ordered were not filled to the top. They were filled maybe more than half way which is seemingly a rip off since they're around 14-15 a pop. Next thing was the calamari, it was so insanely dinky that you really could not share it that much. What happened to Italian restaurants serving free bread?!! Our entrees were fresh and definitely flavorful and we did have decent service, but I think there could be some improvements with their portion sizing. It felt like a rip off in ways. The restaurant was very busy as expected for a Saturday night and I'm sure we wouldn't have gotten a table if we hadn't made a reservation. Our server was very attentive and made sure to explain key points on the menu which was very helpful. We really enjoyed the fun and upbeat ambiance. The food was a little different than your traditional Italian food, but no complaints. I personally recommend the meatball pizza. Wasn't sure how I'd feel about the pickled peppers on it, but it was delish! I heard the spinach fettuccine and the cavatelli pasta dishes were also amazing. Highly disappointing. Most chaotic place to grab the most subpar Italian (kind of?) food. Don't eat here if you are looking for an intimate, authentic, or elevated dining experience. Severely overcrowded. We were seated in a corner booth/table practically on top of another couple. Between the seating and volume level, it was reminiscent of eating at a Ruby's...which I now know from other reviews, was what formally occupied the building. Everything seemed to be sticky and leftover. To each their own, but when a restaurant is depicted as a class joint by the marketing team, and you arrive to see multiple people in flannel pj pants dinning around you like they are at a diner or in their living room, it doesn't help your experience. The waitstaff was questionable and left us feeling unsettled from the moment we were seated. For the price, the portions were laughable. We ordered drinks and less than 3 minutes later our food was out...and it was ice cold. Aside from temperature and a delivery time that eliminated the possibility of us even getting to fully take in the atmosphere or each other, it was the most lackluster Italian-American cuisine I've ever had. Sauce was nearly identical to a can of a spaghettio's. The squash in my dish was watery and tasted like the plastic bag it probably had been defrosting in. Honestly, you could have had better pasta from your local pizza place. $70s later, we left after trying to muscle through "a new experience," and were left so unsatisfied and hungry we drove to West Chester and had a second dinner immediately after. read more

And forget it if you've got a couple gluten-free persons in your party. 95% of the menu is denoted as containing gluten and there's no guide to gluten-free options. The menu is callous to those with gluten sensitivities or celiac and the staff not helpful either--it felt like a typical experience from 2001 re allergies. Perhaps some gluten-free pasta or pizza dough, at least? On a high note the charcuterie and bread were nice and the Italian wine list was unique. The food was wonderful. My dining companions all had pizza while I had spaghetti and mussels. The pasta was perfect, cooked to perfect Al dente. The sauce had just a hint of heat and the addition of crushed hazelnuts added an interesting texture. I didn't try any of the pizza but everyone said it was delicious. The cheesy bread appetizer was delicious. A few minor issues: bread was not provided for the table which is common,especially for Italian restaurants. The service was slower than I expected but l'm giving them some slack on that being we were there on their third night they were open. And lastly there was no grated cheese, only sprinkled, something I expect they will remedy in the future. The decor was beautiful and I would come back any time.Judging by the crowd I am not alone in this opinion. One last thought: they should expand the choi of salads.
