I'm really glad this store is here because ATL doesn't have stores like Daiso, Muji, Miniso, Uniqlo. There are a couple Japanese grocery stores now like Wagaya grocery and Tomato, but Teso combines everything into one store. It makes it so fun to come here and peruse the latest offerings from cosmetics, skincare, home goods, cookware, toys, collectibles, snacks, and drinks! They've been changing up their claw machines too. You can exchange money for coins to play at the register in front of the store. Prices here aren't exactly low, but you'll find items you might not be able to get elsewhere. I come here to treat myself to some snacks I can't find in grocery stores and to find gifts for friends. There's tons of parking in the plaza lot, but I've noticed a lot more cars after Teso opened. You might have to park farther away and walk. read more

This store is a fantastic addition to Duluth! It's located in the middle of the plaza where Sweet Hut and Choong Man Chicken are. Thanks to Teso, the parking at this plaza is consistently packed. When you enter the store, you're greeted by bright UV lights and a big, spacious store. There are toys, craft kits, and claw machines at the front. To use the claw machines, you have to buy tokens at the counter. But I've heard the machines are rigged - I've been to Teso 3 times now and have never seen anyone successfully get a toy. The middle section of aisles have makeup and skincare - if this is what you're looking for, you're in paradise. There are 2 full aisles of makeup, and 2 full aisles of skincare. So many brands of makeup and trendy items. I'll be restocking some of my items at this store instead of online now. The right side of the store has a huge selection of food - chips, snacks, candy, chocolate, drinks, soju, and even frozen ice cream cones. The back aisles of the store is where you can find your home goods. The checkout line can get pretty long but it moves fairly quick. I spotted a lot of employees throughout the store, restocking items. As for prices, the items are slightly cheaper than what you would get online, so it's worth it. If you're familiar with Daiso (which doesn't have a location in Georgia yet), this store is higher end. There aren't as many inexpensive knick knacks, but bigger and higher quality items. I saw this place all over my social media and had to check it out on my visit to Atlanta! I was pleasantly overwhelmed upon coming in and didn't even know where to look first. Tons and tons of Japanese makeup brands, snacks, huge variety of blind boxes, houseware goods. I was in awe. The prices were quite reasonable and I say this because I am used to much higher prices for Asian goods so I was glad to see reasonable pricing. Absolutely loved this store! It reminds me of Daiso but bigger. My 14 year old loves Hello Kitty so she fell in love when we went there and saw all the hello kitty products. They also had different flavors of lays and Pringle chips that you don't see in the states & everything is fairly priced as well. We will definitely be back!!! read more

Teso is the newest hot thing in the Duluth area, and I can see why. Having lived in Dallas for the past year, I've already been exposed to Teso so it wasn't super WOW for me. Contrary to what many people think, Teso isn't actually Japanese -- it is Taiwanese. I'm thinking it was inspired by Japan's "Daiso." Despite not being the original brand, Teso does not lack. With locations in many states throughout the US, Teso is truly a "life store" and has everything you need, from cosmetics to Asian snacks to stationery to more. It has that Asian vibe and it's also very affordable, making it more attractive. It's located at the same plaza of Coffee by Hand. Funny to think how 10 years ago when the plaza was dead, no one would have thought this plaza would become this successful. They also have claw machines where most plays are either $1 $2 or $4, so it's a fun hangout spot. I am thinking that it's the gen z hot spot right now. Whether you're actually trying to buy something or you're trying to kill time and hang out, Teso definitely has you covered. They have a lot of staff working to make sure items are stocked, the store is clean and answer any of your questions. Super cute store and super nice staff! They don't have a public restroom so you have to go to a near restaurant, but everything else is amazing. So many options for everything and they even have a small corner of claw machines. It cost a dollar for a token and they have small machines for one token and bigger machines for two. Machine claw's seem a little loose because when it brings the prize to the top when you grab the stuffy, it seemed to drop every time for me when. Would go again though! read more

Drove 2 hrs because I saw this on an instagram reel. Yes it lives up to the expectation. It was very clean and organized and had some pretty interesting products you don't normally see in the US. Wide verity's of products from makeup, collectibles, cleaning, Home, hygiene,food, etc. Food prices are cheaper somewhat then competitors. I will say other products are on the pricey side like some of the drug store makeup for instance is equivalent to Ultas price range. (Blame the economy not the business) A lot of stuff you won't find in any American chain stores. It was very interesting. The isle are very tight and when we went it was on the crowded end. A lot of people passing by and always moving out the way to let people by. Was definitely worth the drive will be back with a cooler next time to buy frozen goods. read more

I noted before in a previous review that I think we need more Japanese presence in the Duluth/Norcross area as we have a plethora of Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese influences. Then came Ebisu Japanese Life Store which is a little Japanese version of Walgreens without the pharmacy. But along the Pleasant Hill strip where Sweet Hut and BBMyun live, there was a portion of the plaza that laid dormant for years till Teso Life came along. Did it continue w/ the Chinese/Taiwanese theme that this plaza is geared for or did it switch to something else? Luckily, my wish came true and it's another Japanese cultural market. This place just opened in mid-July so they're still getting their bearings straight at the time of this review so you will have to be patient with the way they have their store laid out, getting the staff acclimated, and ultimately getting their feet established. I recommend popping into the Ebisu Japanese Life Store off Steve Reynolds before coming here so you can get a taste of what it's like because Teso Life is just Ebisu Japanese Life store on steroids. It's just a bigger store with more inventory that allows them more room for more things like Gundam models and more snack variety. Between the claw machines, the Japanese skin care items, the supplies, and the food items, it's definitely worth checking out. Again, this place is barely a month old so have patience as people are checking it out so lines will be long, inventory will be all over the place, and the staff will need to adjust as they are new but rest assured, this place is fantastic!!! read more

I'm glad we have a Teso in the Atlanta metro area! The selection of products, especially skincare, is amazing but a little overwhelming if you go in without a plan. I wish they'd spread the more popular sections around the store a little better because some areas get REALLY crowded and hard to navigate. Truly this store is so cool! I am not sure why the reviews are not higher, because our experience was amazing. We arrived about 10 minutes before they opened-- much to our surprise there was a line down the entire strip. Once the doors opened, the line quickly fed into the store and we didn't have to wait. While not trying to sound eurocentric, the department store most closely resembled a smaller Walmart but inside everything is Japanese. Teso Life offers anything from drinks, candies, snacks, office supplies, skincare, cosmetics, kitchen utensils, and toys. We spent nearly an hour browsing every aisle. There was a long line at the checkout; however, each register had an associate that was quick and efficient. We also paid for 4 tokens ($4) to play 2 arcade games. The entire from corner of the store is claw machines and brightly lit chance games. The machines were clean and being wiped down as we were shopping. The entire store was spotless and visibly new! Long waiting line to get into the store, by the time got in to the store, had to use the restroom but no restrooms in Teso! had to leave the store and get in the line again. Wth?! ‍ Claw machine was fun! Lot of variety of blind boxes! Lot of variety of Japanese items. Went back again, lot of shelves are empty. They seem to have everything you could even need from cookware to snacks to hygiene products (even sexual wellness items). The store was super busy and crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Didn't even want to pick up anything to consider for purchase because the checkout line wrapped around the store and I assumed it would take 30 mins at least to check out. The store may not have expected crowds of this size but knowing how popular it is now it would be smart to reconfigure the lines to checkout so that people entering the store can make it through the doors. Love this place! I have been seeing all of the hype on social media and had to go check it out! ***LOCATION*** In a large shopping center so plenty of parking! It's a couple stores down from Sweet Hut. We grabbed boba then headed over to explore the store :) ***ATMOSPHERE*** The inside is so bright and fun. They had good music playing and sooo many things to look at. Since it just opened, it was packed and the line was a mile long though. Hopefully it'll calm down a bit so we can run in and grab a few things with shorter lines. The line really deters you from buying things unless you're getting a ton of stuff. ***STAFF*** Very friendly and welcoming! They were clearly working hard to help the many many customers! ***PRODUCTS*** So they had a whole food section and kitchen section like H-Mart, but what stood out was the "toy" section all at the front. They had a lot more beauty products and games than H-mart for example. They had sooo many figurines and sets and more. I didn't look at everything in detail, as we were rushing by to checkout the claw machines! They were very cool. The only downside is that you have to get a coin at the register to play, which would require waiting in a very long line if you weren't buying anything else. ***PRICE*** The prices seemed good for all of the really great products they had! ***CONCLUSION*** Will definitely be back for more food and to play the claw machine! read more

Teso is an experience. If you go over the weekend it might be overwhelming from the amount of people inside the store. I would recommend going during the weekday less people so it's easier to stroll and looking through each aisle. The amount of Asian products, I say Asian products cause there a large amount of skin care, hair products, some sexual product. House products, cooking and I can't really say where each product is from. Overall I would recommend going if you're looking for certain items but be aware the product might be slightly overpriced but I get it since shipping and such. Don't bother wasting your time with the claw machines since 1. they make you purchase tokens from the front register, which means you'd have to wait in the crazy line to do so, and 2. the claw machines are ALL so scammy since you'll literally grab an item every turn pretty much, except that once it retracts to the top, it retracts at the top so hard that it lets go...every, single, time. I took a few videos while my kids and their friends were doing the machines, and try after try, they'll grab the item, and every time, it'll let go at the top. We wasted $20 and tried the Ditto claw machine (weighted by the way so don't even bother as it didn't even budge), the Pikachu plush machine in the corner, several of the Hello Kitty ones, and every machine, you'll grab it and it'll let go. Your store attracts kids of all ages, and Teso is quickly becoming well-known for its claw machines since it's such a unique experience here in the U.S. I was there during a weekday early afternoon, and the store was still busy, especially the claw machine area, where other moms were bringing their young kids to excitedly do the claw machines, and for the 20-30 minutes that we were circling the machines, absolutely none of them got anything. The kids were so excited and hyped up about their trip to Teso, and were scouting out which machines they wanted to try before waiting in line, and since it's the last thing you'll do once you check out and tokens finally in hand (a $1 per coin by the way and each machine is $2-3+ per turn), they all left so bummed out. We'll come back for the snacks, but would never spend a dime on the claw machines there again, and you bet I warned the customers around us that were trying to cheer their kids up after losing turn after turn. read more

I honestly don't know what all the hype is about this place. I was really looking forward to it after seeing all the influencers' reviews throughout social medias. Had wanted to wait until the crowd dies down from Grand Opening. Finally got to visit it today. It's in the shopping center of Sweet Hut right in the middle. There's only one set of double doors for people to go in and out, with one side door being locked. Seriously? Especially with all the in-flow of people? Once inside, the place and choice of items were not as big as I had expected. HUGE Japanese lifestyle store with so many things. It ranges from beauty to skincare to fabric refreshers to baby and pet items to cookware and snacks. It reminded me a lot of the nicer Daisos in Asia - tons of things that were cute and functional. It's popular because of social media so expect to stand in line to check out (or even outside to get in!). It took me maybe 15 minutes starting from the very back of the store to get checked out. The staff is super efficient and are restocking all throughout the day to keep shelves full (great job you guys -- it's recognised!). I didn't get a chance to try the claw machines but there's a few with lots of different prizes in side. I plan to come again in the next month or so with my Japanese friend to get her recommendation. read more
