I tend to go there for books and non-traditional crafting supplies. But sometimes you can find some interesting things in housewares, sports, or clothes. My first time walking in to the store it is like a warehouse of all the clearance items. They had a wide selection of snacks and dry pantry food. There was a mix of everything from garden supplies to rugs, home decor, educational books. I will have to come back another day! I would make a shopping list of things to find and get it. Just discovered Ollie's as we don't have it where I'm from. There are a lot of items discounted, some that aren't compared to other places. You have to really shop around and check back often . It's a great place for home and toiletry items that might be more discounted. I got replacements for my oral b toothbrush for $30 less than anywhere else. They also have snacks and canned goods cheaper in addition to books, plug-ins, as seen on TV. Make sure to comparison shop or you'll pay more! Go today! read more

Olies is definitely a bargain outlet. You basically have to hunt and find when shopping at this store. As a matter of fact at every Olies I have been to you feel like your going on an adventure. Sometimes you feel overwhelmed cause it so much stuff everywhere. This location was no different. The interaction with the staff was basically no- existed. I only had an encounter with the cashier and she seamed nice. Couldn't find any sales people at the time I was there. They may have been around I just didn't see any. I went early in the day so it was not crowded. They had what I was looking for so that was great, and I ended up buying more things than I went in for. They have a membership card you can sign up for to get additional discounts, or maybe you have info before the public does anyway membership or not its worth the time to just look around. read more

I went in just to check out the somewhat new chain store. Parking was easy and the store not very crowded. Overall it seems to be just another outlet of surplus stuff. I noticed their stock was going up so thought Id stop and see what all the buzz was and really I was not impressed. There seems to be a lot of disarray. Flooring is big and so are carpets. So if your in the market for an area rug, or cheap flooring, it might be worth checking out. I ended up getting just one item, a joint brace for $3.99. At checkout, just one line open and the gal in front had these large items with no price anywhere. Oh no I thought but they did come to some resolution. I guess Id call it a mix of a low end Big Lots and low end Tuesday Morning. I'll give it a third star as the help was friendly. read more

Ollies is a decent place to go find bargains. I got some very cheap Quart freezer bags that have been awesome and where much cheaper than the name brand. Due to the bargains it is very hard to get around the crowds in the store. That may be more of a knock on the customers than Ollie's but it was still a problem. There was only one employee checking people out and she took her time to talk with each customer and understand how their day was going and suggest things to look for on their next visit. She stayed SUPER positive with all of the work she had to do which was great. A couple of the products that we bought at Ollie's only lasted a week while others have been solid. I may return if I am in the area, but will not go out of my way just to visit Ollie's. read more

Bargains galore here. We went in needing nothing and came out with a buggy full of bags and $94 poorer. I got one of those destroy the environment K cup machines lately and don't use it that much but did find a wide variety of cups priced as low as .25 cents a piece. I bought a couple of large variety packs. They have a huge selection of area rugs which we dug through and found some appealing ones at good prices. read more

Ollie's is unexpectedly an interesting find for a lot of different things. I'd equate it to being better than Big Lots and more on the lower-end than TJ Maxx. It's kind of right in between while still carrying some brand-name products I don't know of any other locations, but this store is located in the same shopping center as the Studio Movie Grill in Duluth. Parking isn't so bad but I could definitely sense that there is some moviegoer overflow that might get into Ollie's and Anna's Linens' lots. I went to Ollie's looking for an area rug for my dining room since I was told that they he a pretty good selection. I ended up not getting a rug there because I thought the quality of rugs was still kind of rough, but the prices were definitely affordable! They have different rugs in many sizes. I looked at a 5'X7' rug and it was about $50-70 dollars, if I can remember. They also carry rug pads near the rugs and the prices are competitive at 9.99 for a 5x7 rug pad, but when I touched it, it didn't seem to have enough grip compared to other products I've seen. I'd definitely recommend the rug department for anybody going to college as their rugs are probably cheaper than Walmart or Target. I did end up buying a storage bench here. I'm comparing this to one I found at Target. Target was selling a similar item that's a little longer and bigger for $169.99. The finish and seats were very similar, but Ollie's was selling one for $59.99. Both require assembling, but I felt that Ollie's might fit my space better and it had a better value. Hopefully it'll last for a while, but I think I have better peace of mind knowing that if this storage bench doesn't last, at least I only spent $60 instead of more than twice the amount. Besides the home goods in the back, this store also carries some non-perishable items. I do remember seeing brand-name cereals and brand-name detergent, although I didn't get a good look at the price. I also found some off-the-wall things like Duck Dynasty beach towels and some school supplies (with the GT and UGA emblems on them). There's also a bed/bath section. I did take a look at the memory foam bathmats, but felt like I could get a thicker, better quality elsewhere like Costco. I think the quality of towels and sheets might not be as good as let's say the items at TJ Maxx or Bed Bath and Beyond, but still, you might find something good. I should also mention they also sell yard stuff (ceramic pots/planters at 40% off, potting soil), there's a book section, and also some sporting goods. Just lots of things. This place is a little far from me, but I might go every once in a while to check it out if I'm in the area. I'd recommend getting an "Ollie's Army Card" as you get a point for every dollar you spend. Also, upon joining, you get a 10% off coupon for your next visit. YOU HAVE TO BE BETTER! When you are a surplus store that carries seconds, you have to be better! You have to keep your shelves organized, your store clean and your inventory relevant because no matter what you have, if your store is dirty, cluttered and unwelcoming, you will lose out. When Ollie's first arrived on the scene things were neat and organized and it was apparent that they were making an effort. During my last two visits I noticed that things appeared to have deteriorated (messy and junky). I personally cannot function in that type of environment regardless of price or inventory. Today my visit was short because the place was a mess and the inventory seemed to be largely junk that should just be donated and not sold. While I realize it is Christmas, this store needs to better manage their inventory and not have large boxes blocking the aisles. Also, take time to grab a broom and clean your floors. It's Christmas, put your best foot forward and better represent your brand! Good luck. read more

I must say this place has some interesting items at pretty low bargain prices. I've compared some of the same brand names at other stores, and Ollie's does have some low prices. Here you can find food items, apparel, household items, to patio furniture. Located in the same complex as Studio Movie Grill. Driving by Ollie's on the corner of Venture Drive and Steve Reynolds, I had no idea what to expect. Did they sell food? Crafts? Construction DIY gear? Walking Sticks? As it turns out, the answer is all of the above. Ollie's is a bargain market concept, which means it is reminiscent of a dusty Big Lots, Costco, and Aldi's all rolled into one big, disheveled storefront. Personally, I love bargain hunting and would be so happy to spend a lot of time finding the best deal and just searching. All of the prices seemed very low, and the food items weren't expiring super soon as I might expect. Another thing I liked here was that every single item was individually marked for sale, so there was no need to hunt for a price tag. I am glad this place exists, and I'm ready to come here for a bargain on an item that I don't know I need or want yet! read more

I never heard of Ollie's until Carolina M got ROTD back then. I really had no idea what kind of store Ollie would be with an old man as a cartoon but after reading Caroline's ROTD, I knew I had to check it out. However, I never gotten a chance to actually go there until recently. Why so late and why now? Since it was around Christmas time, I was looking through the mail and found Ollie's ad. They were selling a selfie stick for $5, original price is $15 and I went to Amazon to check out the great reviews. So I finally went to Ollie's to purchase several selfie sticks as gifts for nieces and for White Elephant gifts. Unfortunately, Ollie's have been sold out of these selfie sticks for a while and not sure when they will get new ones. I wasn't disappointed since I was in the electronics area and bought a bunch of great deals just by looking around. I wanted to buy more gifts but since I mainly went there to get White Elephant gift, I just settled for that one gift and will return for Christmas gifts. At the cash register, I got a rewards card. The next visit, I will be an additional 15% off! A few days again, I made sure I got all the Christmas gifts for all my nieces and nephews. I always find great bargains but the clutter is aggravating. The store is small enough and employees leave stuff in the aisles making it hard to maneuver through. Expect only one to two cashiers up front and a host of people trying to Check out leaving lines of people throughout the aisles while the the rest of the employees "fake work" stocking items in hard to see places. Usually people help with checking out when there is a crowd, but the employees could care less leaving the poor cashiers to do the real work. read more

The service and selection has gotten WAYYYY better. Before It was terrible. I love this little store because of all of the neat little things you can find. Sometimes I go snack shopping here because i know they'll have some cheaper or even holiday snacks. I have also been able to find many shelving units that are way cheaper than in other stores. they have brand names as well. The Blanket blowouts are great, a velvet sherpa blanket for only $28? yay. Cook books for $2? A huge rug for $20? They have a selection of everything and it varies. Some day I find a bunch of things, other days I walk out empty handed. It's a treasure hunt but I love it. It's actually become more of a family outing than a trip to the store for us. My husband and I love the thrill of buying items at bottom of the barrel pricing and not knowing if it's going to fall apart by the time we make it home. Its a great place for cheap books for all ages . They have a huge variety of stuff its like a Big Lots but extremly cluttered with inventory blocking the path on every narrow isle. If you take your time to look around you find good useful stuff . They have a large variety cheap Dockers , levis , wrangler jeans for men but in larger sizes . They also have some in womens also size 14 ,16 ,18 ,20 for less than $10.00 you do have to take your time to find your size but worth it . It would be a better store if they kept it uncluttered. read more

Good selection of items from closeout stores. Sales clerks can be found all over the store and each one is very friendly and helpful in finding items. They have a reward program to help you save money. The only drawback is the entrance and exiting to the store. read more
