Suggest going on a mid-weekday afternoon well after lunch or well before rush-hour, or try to be there in the morning to line up before they open. I go here every year, and every person I've interacted with has been pleasant to deal with and helpful. I have not passed first inspection a couple of times due to minor issues needing attention and they told me what I needed to do so solve the issue, gave me time to solve it and come back for a free secondary inspection. This is a good business with good folks working for them. As mentioned, I come here once a year, every year - as long as I live around here, I'll be back again next year.

No one came out to greet me or provide any information. I eventually went into the bay and asked if they were conducting inspections that day. The gentleman was very friendly and assured me he would be with me shortly. Once I was brought in, the inspection was completed in under 15 minutes. He was friendly throughout the entire process and completed the job exactly as I would have expected. Overall, I had no concerns with the inspection itself. My only issues were the disconnected phone number and the lack of acknowledgment when I first arrived.

Anything over 45 mph made me nervous, and I was convinced I was one breakdown away from being stranded on the side of the road. I first took it to another shop, where they kept it for two days before telling me it was a transmission issue they couldn't repair. The estimate? Around $3,000. For an older vehicle that we plan to hand down to our soon-to-be teenage driver, that was a tough pill to swallow. Thankfully, I decided to try Frisco Automotive through the Old Town Frisco Yiftee program, and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was outstanding. The gentleman at the front desk immediately understood my description of the problem and took the time to personally test drive the vehicle. We even ended up having a fun conversation about Ohio and the Cleveland Browns while discussing the symptoms. What impressed me most was that they didn't just accept the previous diagnosis. They investigated the issue themselves and discovered it wasn't the transmission at all. A support mount for the engine had come loose. They repaired it, then personally drove the vehicle again, including taking it up to highway speeds, to verify the hesitation was completely gone. The result? A repair bill under $1,000 instead of a $3,000 transmission replacement. On top of that, they offered transportation assistance, including rides home and back to the shop when the vehicle was ready. That level of service is rare these days. Honest diagnosis, knowledgeable technicians and outstanding customer service. Frisco Automotive has absolutely earned my future business, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy repair shop.

Then year two with them was not as great. I felt more like a number and honestly the service reps felt a little slimy as a female bringing my car in. However I am happy to report this past year I saw it getting better again, on several times of bringing my car in I was met by Christian who was well mannered and kind, always had a smile on his face. I should mention I could drive one mile to the Dallas Audi dealership however I choose to drive 40 miles north to McKinney. I recently brought my q5 in for an engine light on and i got a loaner car without issue. I picked it up a few days later and on my way home my engine light came back on. The next day the head of service reached out and asked how my service went. I forgot her name but I let her know the engine light came back on, on my way home. She was so empathetic and let me know she would send someone to me in Dallas with a loaner car and pick up my car. It was amazing that I didn't have to take time off work to bring my suv back. She also apologized and when the service manager for my car, Michael (literally the best service manager to work with!) called me he said they would test drive my car many times so that it will have the computer reset many times to make sure the engine light would not turn back on. Which they did and they fixed everything and when my car was ready they delivered it to where I was and picked up the loaner. Another crisis avoided and taken care of by this dealership, not me. Now, I have run multiple businesses and I hated it when customers would leave a review without allowing me to at least be giving the chance to fix it. We are humans and mistakes happen and companies should be judged on how they react to a problem when given the information. I also recently got a large toll bill and when I called Sewell Josh from service took care of it. Simple and easy. Every person I interacted with even when the tech looked over my car again and sent the video, apologized and made it right. I honestly don't know how they could have done anything better!? At the end of the day cars and people are both unpredictable and somehow Sewell McKinney took care of both for me, without issue. I will never go to any other dealership nor should you!!

I have waited one year and 14 service visits before writing this review. I even accepted two…read moregoodwill (bribe or admission of guilt?) replacement tires and promises of improvement, hoping things would turn around. They have not. Before getting too far into it I would like to acknowledge my Service Advisor; Alex is awesome, it is too bad the positive experience begins and ends with her. Issues began immediately at 4,800 miles: repeated alignment attempts, A/C repair failures, and fit/finish defects. Technicians consistently threw parts at problems without diagnosing the root cause...twice tearing down the entire front end of the car, including removing the windshield, yet failing to resolve the issue. During one visit a technician broke my center console, tried to deliver the car back to me as if nothing was wrong, then sent me a video explaining how he broke it. After being told the necessary part was on order and could take weeks to arrive from Germany, I was told the car was ready to be picked up. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, the console was left in six pieces scattered across the interior. QA/QC simply does not exist at Sewell. The final straw was attempting to schedule routine maintenance, an oil change. I was told my 18 month old/15k mile car needs the 2 year/20k mile maintenance. OK? As shown in the attached quote, Sewell wants $1,376.38 for a "20k mile service" (again, my vehicle has only 15k miles). Look closely at the images & itemized breakdown, they only perform three tangible services: an oil and filter change, a cabin air filter replacement, and a key fob battery replacement. Let's do some easy math: The standalone quote for just the oil change & "real services" (from Sewell) is $508.29. Deducting that from the "maintenance service" means Sewell is charging $868.09 strictly for visual "checks" (high labor tasks like "Horn - Check function"). Notice how they carefully avoid more technical verbiage like "inspection". This is EXACTLY why consumers dislike & distrust car dealerships. Do they believe customers are incapable of simple math or do they expect us to blindly agree to their suggestions? Either option is professional misconduct and both are insulting. I bought from Sewell because of their heavily advertised reputation for customer service. The reality of owning a Sewell vehicle has been the exact opposite. Sewell hopes you fall in love with their image, so they can rob you at their leisure.

Car Toys wanted to charge me 1100 dollars to simply install what I already had in a new vehicle!!!! Absurd right? So I decided to take my business to Bryan and Tony. WOW!! Customer service was so great! Not only did I get my subwoofers and amps reinstalled, but I also purchased two new focal speakers, and still paid significantly less!! They had my car done in about 4 hours (would have taken Car Toys 6-7) AND even brought my car to me!! As far as the sound quality and instillation goes... I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Amps are appropriately and safely mounted to the backs of my seats, base knob is in a reachable area, but not noticeable unless you know where it is and both the speakers and my subwoofers sound AMAZING!!!!! Great clarity, and still a lot of boom! I can crank it all the way and still get great sound, no static, crackling or fading in and out. HIGHLY recommend Frisco Audio and Tint. They will be receiving my business from now on. Skip over Car Toys half ass jobs and outrages "instillation and labor" fees.
