After weeks of research and test drives in the Madison area, I came across an add on Facebook…read moremarketplace for a beautiful 2013 Mazda Cx-5 at a fair price. Decided to make the drive to check it out. To be honest, I felt a little unsure when I pulled up to what looked like a bombed out industrial park and needed to walk down an alleyway to the door of Marino Motors. Dustin greeted me at the door and invited me in. He made a great first impression. After allowing him to make a copy of my driver's license my daughter, who the car was for, and I had the keys in our hands and were out the door. Our test drive went as well as we hoped it would. We made an offer and after a counter offer and some paperwork, we were on our way. The whole process was really easy. As I had mentioned, I had test driven many cars from small dealerships and this was the first one that didn't leave me with the feeling that somehow they were holding something back and if I wasn't careful I would end up getting screwed somehow. Dustin let me know as he handed us the keys, if there was anything we needed, to just let him know. Sure enough, later that night, my daughter had gone out with some friends and when she got home she called to tell me that she couldn't get the car to turn off. Ugh!!! I was like....I can't believe it.....I was fooled!!! I did a quick google search and found that the 2013-2015 Mazdas had an issue with the shift sensor going bad and the car didn't know it was in park and therefore wouldn't let you shut it off. This fix looked straight forward and could be done for about $200. I called Dustin and explained the situation. There was no hesitation. He said told me to go ahead with the repair and he would reimburse me. All I needed to do was send him a photo of the receipt. A week later after I got it into a local shop, I sent him the receipt and about 10 minutes later he Venmo'd me the money. In the month since the purchase we have received the title from Wis DMV without problem and there have been no other issues with the car. If you are willing to take the drive to Rockford, I can't recommend Dustin and Marino Motors enough. Just don't freakout when your GPS tells you to take the next left into what looks like anything but a car dealership.
