I bought my 2022 Audi Q8 in Dec 2021 and now almost 2 years later everything has been awesome with the car. The employees are lazy, very quick to run my credit and tried with a ton of other banks, which they were only suppose to use the one I requested. It was late in the day so we were told to come back the next day, never heard from them. Napleton's offering was originally found on cars.com Pros: -One of the real nice things about this was that they offered a shuttle to come pick me up from home to the dealership to finalize the deal -Services are offered for their car purchases along with car washes -They were reasonably accommodating to help close a transaction over 2 days Cons: -The online ad and the price tag on the lot was nearly a $5K difference. I was not pleased. The salesperson was quick to honor though once I showed the ad on my phone -Their finance guy pushed additional warranties HARD. Word of warning: If a warranty is TRULY that necessary, then the quality of your product is suspect. Bottom Line: -As a sales guy myself, I felt I was treated fairly, negotiated on equal terms / good faith, and got a pretty good deal. Would I come back here? It would be opportunity based. This is more of a review for their service department but I had a very good experience. I got hit by another car on 94 heading to the Dells on Labor Day weekend. It was Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, nobody was injured, however, the other car hit me from behind and knocked into my muffler. After going over the details with the police, we headed out only to hear a loud knocking. I wasn't sure if it was the ABS, or a flat tire. It turned out to be the muffler. I could either turn around and switch cars, or continue to the Dells, or possibly get a rental, or try to get it temporarily fixed. I opted for the fix. I stopped into the Honda dealership expecting the worst, with no appointment and it being Saturday afternoon. However, they were able to get me in to take a look at the damage. The service manager was very friendly and we were in and out in about an hour. They determined that the muffler had come loose and was striking the axle which was causing the loud knocking noise. They put some kind of band underneath to hold it in place. In the end, I lost about 1 hour from the accident itself, and 1 hr from the fix, but it was well worth it. I am very fortunate and happy to have been in the area. read more

This is only for the Service Dept. I received a recall notice in March of 2015 and called and made an appointment, when I got to my appointment about a week later they told me that the part is not available (yet) when I asked then how come I wasn't told that on the phone when I called they said that the girls answering the phone don't know about parts being in and should have not made the appointment. I was then forced to reverse out of the Service Area in my old 2004 Honda Odyssey and go home. I wish I had gotten the name of the man that helped me because HE DIDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE. They seem very cold and unfriendly here. Now that the part is available for the recall I've made my appointment at a different Honda dealer and am looking forward to better customer service. Oh yea and I'm hoping to buy a new Odyssey soon but not from this location (their loss). read more

I purchased a used 2014 Volvo XC40 from Napleton on Saturday, May 25 this year. I paid a fair price for the car, but not a great price as I thought the car was well maintained. I was told the car had gone through Napleton's rigorous multi -point inspection and was told the car was in excellent shape. I had another opportunity to purchase the same make of car - newer model, that had another 10K miles on it from another dealer. I chose to purchase the car from Napleton because of their reputation - which I have now soured on. I have had the car less than a month now, which is within their warranty, and so far: The day I purchased the car and drove home (85 miles later) a message flashed "low battery voltage" and the check engine light came on as I pulled into my garage. The following morning I foundd oil on my garage floor under the car. I e-mailed and phoned Napleton and received no response back. Two days later the car would not start in shopping center parking lot. AAA is called and the battery is replaced. AAA told me it was a bad alternator. I phoned and spoke with Tim and then Jeff at Napelton, informing them of the issue. Jeff told me he will reimburse me the cost of the battery. He also told me he will have someone phone me to set up a time for me to bring the car back to be looked over. The following day no one from Napleton phoned me. I called Napleton and am told someone will phone me back. Later in the day Allen called me (Napleton) and asked me when I would like to bring the car in (a day off work and a drive). He told me they would replace the alternator. I scheduled a time for Monday, June 3, at 1:30. I mention to Allen that Jeff told me he would reimburse me for the battery and Allen said he knew nothing about that. A few days later I drove 85 miles -one way - to Napleton Autowerks and dropped car off to be looked at. 90 minutes later I was told they could find nothing wrong. The engine light was on when I brought the car in! They did not replace the alternator and said nothing about the oil leak. Allen asked for the receipt for the battery and told me they would reimburse me in either a check or gift card. I told him a check is what I would like. I told Allen I was having a mechanic look at the car the next day, June 4. I did receive a check for the battery. June 4th - oil leak found by mechanic in Madison - the oil drain plug was leaking all over the splash shield and turbo piping, which he fixed. Also found: The brake vacuum pump was starting to leak Both rear tires have uneven suspension from either bad wheel alignment or worn out suspension Multiple engine codes related to battery voltage New spark plugs needed June 10 - Take to auto shop in Madison, they rotate tires, service hubs and torque wheels because tires are worn weirdly. They confirm oil vacuum pump is leaking and recommend resealing pump. Cost: $158 June 17 - have pump resealed. Cost $285.00 I e-mailed and phoned Napleton asking to speak with someone about these issues. Received a voicemail basically stating I am out of luck. "As is" = buyer beware. Beware of purchasing a used car from Napleton - they are are not truthful in their business dealings, I discovered them to be untruthful regarding several issues with the car which I will now be out over $500 as issues continue to arise. read more

The Financial Management treat their customers like crap. They have every excuse you can think of to push you off such as, I'm busy with other customers, have 5 people in front of you, don't come in Saturday's that's our busiest time, and the list goes on. My girlfriend stood outside Paul's, maybe Steve's office and heard him on a personal conversation while we were waiting for over an hour. He was on this call for over 10 mins. She confronted him and all he had was excuses (of course). Spend the extra 30 mins and drive to the suburbs of Chicago to buy a vehicle. People out there are friendly, courteous, and actually care about their customers. Don't let Napleton Autowerk ruin what should be a great buying experience. First Napleton's didn't want to honor it, I filed a complaint with management. Dead battery, idiot lights going off, electrical issues, oil light, good grief!!! Odyssey says 15% of my oil life is left. Yeah right they did all the testing, changing oil, etc. I call them a liar ... just because I am woman, doesn't mean I haven't a clue. We had our car choices narrowed down to two SUV's (Honda CRV and Audi Q5, basically apples and oranges, I know). Thus we had two car salesman assisting: Sujeth on the Honda side and Florian on the Audi side. Sujeth is fairly new but he is very warm and honest. He is very down to earth and easy to get along with. Florian, on the other hand, is an expert in his field and a true professional. He patiently provided my with thoughtful answers to my questions. He respected my time and was very thorough. Florian was not pushy and I respected that quality. Even though I didn't purchase the Audi (I have a toddler..., next time) Florian was the consummate professional. He completed the sale with us, and followed up after purchase. Florian left a positive impression with both my husband and me. We will be back, for that Audi! read more

I've always found both the sales and service staff to be very attentive and helpful, which is the most important thing for me. I used to really shop around for the lowest price when I looked for a car, but after wasting a lot of time, it became clear that the prices are more or less the same no matter where you go, and there was a clear difference in service. The people at Napleton, specifically Dan, George, and Chris, have always made me feel like a valuable customer, even though I only have a Civic that I get serviced maybe three times a year. My husband and I bought a new Honda Civic here. We had a great experience mainly because of Chris Loch. We actually ended up buying a Honda instead of a Hyundai just because he was so helpful and sincere and the Hyundai salesman was kind of a jerk. I can't stand the whole car salesman routine and Chris never even hinted that we should buy one thing or another. He only asked how he could help us and offered advice if we asked him. He worked with us to get a loan through Honda with a great interest rate even though our situation was difficult. (I had the credit history but no job and my husband had the income but no credit.) He followed up with us twice after we bought the car to make sure everything was good and sent a thank you card which I thought was a nice touch. Napleton Honda also offered us a free car wash every Saturday, which I can't find now at another Honda dealer since we moved. Every car salesman could learn a thing or two from Chris. read more

He found out at another delearshop that Nappelton knew that the odometer had been tampered with and that the car was purchased from an auction. The story the salesman told my Dad was that the car had a one time owner and was local. The car fax that the other dealer gave him on his car showed the car was all over the country and with multiple buyers. ALWAYS INSIST ON A CAR FAX FROM THESE LIARS!!! stay clear of this place. absolutely the worst place to do business. 1 1/2 hrs of game playing to return a few Honda parts for an insurance job that went through a tornado. When the car came into our shop for repairs, cleaned all dirt and pine needles off it was obvious that the vehicle had been completely blasted with chips on every painted panel, glass, trim, wheels, etc. Contacted insurance company for a second look at the vehicle and the adjuster then totaled the car rightfully so. called explained the situation to Michael in parts he brought the order up on his screen and read off all the parts I had and said I needed to email my copy of the parts for some code to align itself. two days go by and no reply back. I sent my driver to Napletons to return parts in person. she told them she was fine with a restocking fee right from the get go 1 1/2hrs of them playing games with her she's finally on her way. The manager also commented to her that there should have been no reason to email a copy of our invoice since they had one of their own. I bought a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with only 32K.... You know the little old lady only drove it to work and back... 2 months ago and now I am having to replace the transmission and the Intake Manifold Gasket. The dealership I took it to said that it wasn't cycling through first and that the transmission was over taxed for a long period of time. They said if it was inspected by the Dealer I bought it from they would have know just by driving it. Now I have to but 5K into this vehicle just to drive it. I contacted Napelton and talk to one of their owners and this was there response... I am sorry for the problem with your car.But the transmission must have operated OK when we took it in on trade,as well as sold it. Something internally gave way and stopped it from working properly.I would think that installing a used transmission would be the most cost effective repair!! We just can not give a warranty on a vehicle that old.It is impossible to tell what might happen.Again I am sorry that the transmission has caused you this financial burden. I went with hubby to get oil change last week . We usually go to Brillance Honda in crystal lake but with gas prices decided to stay close to home. Wow! So disappointed.. The coffee ? Cappuccino machine was filthy and plugged with ? And the drinking fountain TOO!!' The floors and trim boards very dirty and surprised no shiny floors on showroom And not one Odyssey or Pilot in floor?? But was a used Civic! We went to Napletons because i have heard great things about Honda cars. My salesman Cornelius was great very friendly and helped us with everything he could. The financial department i would love not to see ever again. Messed up our paperwork 3 times and they told us they would bring it to us but we received calls after it was messed up to come back to re-sign. By the third time coming back it was 2 weeks before my first payment was due so i gave my payment check to Josh and he said he would get my payment in. The payment was due the 15th and our check was cashed the 16th. End of April we received our statement from Honda financial and our checked was cashed and never sent it. Honda financial fixed the mistake but we never got an apology from napletons which honda said they admitted to not sending payment. Not a great first impression. read more

I purchased a new Honda for my mother in 2005. She is on social security and could not afford a car, let alone a new one. The first few years went well with oil changes. TODAY she brought it in for an airbag recall and they insisted she get a full inspection ! They came back with a sheet showing she needed $2,000 in repairs and a bill for $145 . She was intimidated into paying the $145 and called me hysterically. She had me talk to the service person who indicated that the car really needed very little. I did not find out about the $145 bill until later. I had another shop inspect the car the next day! They did it for FREE. They said that only 2 of the 8 problems were true ! They fixed the car for $100 and said to buy a new tire in the future... THIS PLACE PREYS ON OLD PEOPLE AND TRIED TO SCREW MY 83 YEAR OLD MOTHER. !!! DO NOT TRUST THEIR INSPECTION LIST..... I had owned an Accord in the past and knew what I wanted, they presented me with multiple options and were not overly pushy. They let the product and service speak for itself. The scamiest scam alive! After I put my Mercedez in for a recall repairs, they 1. Disconnected the dishboard light and wanted more money to fix it 2. Scratched the panels inside 3. Tampered with the brand new brakes that they started to rattle 4. Loosened the wires that my car would not start right away I got out of their dealership. They wanted me to call their towing service and do more "significant repairs". I called AAA tow truck, the guy came in, opened the hood, connected the ground wire to the body and started the truck and told me to stay away from people who did that to my truck on purpose. Napleton failed to report serious/potentially dangerous engine issues on a vehicle a Mercedes Benz ML350 they had sold and serviced since 2006. In Jan. of this year the check engine light came on, the original owner brought it in to be checked. The engine codes indicated serious/dangerous issues that would be about $7500.00 to fix. The owner refused to pay for the repairs and left with the vehicle to trade it in elsewhere. I believe the engine issues should have been reported to Carfax due to the seriousness of the issues. This was not done and I unfortunately purchased this vehicle from a Ford dealer in Freeport, IL. After driving the car 50 miles, the check engine light came on and this is how I found out about the engine issues. Now I have contacted Mercedes Benz, Carfax, Napleton's, The Illinois Attorney General's Office, AARP Fraud/Complaint Dept , all to no avail so far. I cannot afford to spend another $7,500.00 to make this car safe to drive. I am not happy! read more

I purchased my second Audi from Napleton Audi in January 2018. Charlie Kall was the sales person I worked with and he was very helpful. Sadly, I cannot say the same for the rest of the staff. Four months after my purchase, I'm still waiting for the pro-rated refund on the Audi Q5 I traded in. Nate Blaser, the finance person, said I would have the refund in a few weeks, but it has gone way past that. Gary Heckman in the Service department is absolutely awful. I had a problem with the Android Auto connection, so I made an appointment to get it fixed. I had already worked with the sales staff to verify that the problem was not limited to my phone. It happened with multiple Android phones using several different cables. The same phones/cables were able to connect in other Audi vehicles, but not mine. Gary saidthat the problem had been seen on the Q7 as well. When they were about to pick up my car, he texted to tell me he would need my Android phone. If he thought my phone was needed (which would indicate that he didn't understand the problem), he should have told me this when I set up the appointment. I use my phone for work and cannot send it to Loves Park for the day, so I never would have set up the appointment. He also tried to tell me that I hadn't explained that it happened on multiple Android phones, but I had the service appointment email that proved this was a lie. I ended up canceling the appointment and getting it fixed at another dealer. I would not buy another car from Napleton and would steer others away as well. read more

THIS DEALERSHIP PREYS ON ELDERLY PEOPLE! My father, Frank Bertolami, who has dementia, went to this dealership after the car he owned started on fire & was towed here. He was wearing sweatpants & had no cell phone. The dealership sold him an HRV Honda when he asked for a CRV. After leaving, he realized they sold him the wrong vehicle. He immediately went back. JEFF FEINBLATT took back the HRV & screwed him even more on the price of the CRV. My father can't even operate the vehicle. He was hospitalized within a week and had a NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. He is still in the hospital. Myself & my siblings called the dealership & we spoke to JEFF FEINBLATT & couldn't believe they sold him a car. We told him that the vehicle needs to be returned. Now, after one week, they are still taking advantage of the situation by making him pay over $4,600 for a vehicle he had for a week & was driven "2" days. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE how they sold a vehicle to a person that showed signs of mental deficiencies. THEY COMPLETELY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HIM & ARE CONTINUING TO DO SO! During our current crisis there are still people trying to make an easy BUCK! SHAME ON YOU!! I've purchased 2 vehicles from Napleton, my first a new Honda Civic in 1998. Back then, Chris Loch was the salesman I dealt with and I couldn't have been happier with my whole experience. They gave me a price for my trade in that was beyond fair and far more than I had been offered for it at several other dealerships. The Civic was the first brand new car I ever bought and they really made a big deal about it, Jorge Rangel came and talked to me for awhile while paperwork was being processed and he had several other members of the staff come over and congratulate me. I was barely 20 years old at the time so I was perhaps an easy target to be dazzled but keep in mind that all of this was done after I had already bought the car - I had decided to buy it on a Wednesday but didn't return to pick it up til Monday, which was when everyone came over to talk to me. Anyway, I returned for service a few times and the service department was always friendly and did a good job; a couple times when I had problems, I called them and one of the guys from the service department walked me through fixing things over the phone since I lived 60 miles away. My most recent experience was in buying a used Honda Pilot from Napleton in July 2010. This time I dealt with Lisa Jerutka and the experience was not as great; it was all very "used car salesman" (ironic, I know). I would have preferred to deal with Chris Loch again, but I had first seen the car on Napleton's website and sent a request for info. Lisa responded as the Internet sales person and I was told that I was eligible for certain discounts as an Internet customer but ONLY if I went through Lisa. Anyway, I drove the Pilot and was happy with it but there were some flaws on the body that I wanted fixed before I would take delivery, including a big dent on the right rear fender that had some rust showing in the middle. The specifics of the repairs were put into the sales contract and they agreed to call me when it was ready. Lisa called me about a week later and told me I could come and pick up the car, so I made the trip to get it, only to find out that the repairs had been very shoddily done and the rust spot that I was very specific about had just been painted over - the dent wasn't even popped out and the rust wasn't fixed! There was also a large scratch on the bumper that I had wanted repaired and it hadn't been touched either. A kid who had brought the car out from the detail shop looked at the scratch and mentioned how easily it could be buffed out, so he couldn't understand why no one had touched it. Lisa summoned George Buchaklian as I was not at all happy and he made a big show of being outraged that the body shop hadn't fixed it right - and I say show because it was obvious that he wasn't really upset, just putting on an act. I let him know that I was onto his BS and perfectly aware that he had probably told someone to fix it as cheaply as they could, so now he had a few choices: either I take the car to a body shop of my choosing and have Napleton billed for the repairs; they keep it and have it fixed correctly, then deliver it to me since I already wasted half a day and drove 120 miles round trip for nothing; OR we could forget the whole thing and he could go inside and cut me a check for the down payment I had given them previously.
