Absolutely superb. Beyond expected. Recommended by a friend -- and Discount Tires superseded expectations. I had every intention of using Costco's Michelin sale to replace my minivan tires. Friend suggested checking Discount out. Discount outperformed in literally every aspect. 1. Online. Prompt, excellent, helpful service -- in spite of buggy computer. 2. And guess what -- they did price matching! 3. The shop. Clean, friendly, informed, helpful, considerate -- absolutely superb -- staff. Again, in spite of recent buggy computer upgrade. 4. The service. Planned to make an apptmt, return another day. Well ... the shop was humming, getting things done faster. Would I like to wait? Sure! Same day service; save a trip. Good idea. 5. Aftermath/ future. Discount offered more complementary services afterward. There are more Discount shops in more locations. (I sometimes travel a lot.) Who knew ?! Discount Tires has a new, enthusiastic customer. I will be singing their praises to anyone as of now. Thank you to everyone involved. Customer service is not gone forever. read more

I don't go anywhere else for tire rotations or inspections--not even oil change places--except this Discount Tire location. The staff here is extremely knowledgeable about their products and their business, and they're always friendly and professional. I trust them completely with my vehicle. I highly recommend this location over the Rockford location. Excellent service every time! read more

I got my starter fixed at Mavis and it went well. Decently priced and quickly executed. I had to go back because a screw went missing and a piece was loose. Jeremy and Justin fixed it really quick and was cool to work with. If something happens to your car, I'd highly suggest giving Mavis a chance. read more

Horrible customer service associate - Daniel he was so Rude and just wanted to sell me new tires. My tires are newer! Did not want to look at the leak had a major attitude and tone. Said they would not call me when car was done being checked. I either had to wait up to 4 hours he said. Or come back before they close. Or my car would stay all weekend for a tire check?? Would never recommend! read more

Discount Tire - Tires Near Me - Machesney Park, Illinois

I bought tires for my old sports car that I put very few miles on a year and paid for lifetime balance and rotation. I have not had them rebalanced since I bought the warranty. Today I was denied service because they are old, "even though they are in great shape"! This place blows and I always finds a reason to not comply with their warranty! Last time for me , f them. read more

ram over a two-inch bolt and blew my tire forgot I had insurance on my tire which is 250each went there thinking I will be spending about 300$ and walked out paying about 70 they even replaced the other tire due to uneven tread wear due to an unknown screw that was implanted in my tire. thank you for letting me know what tire insurance is on these tires. I only have 19k miles on the set and they have replaced all4 tires 2 times so I really only have about 7k miles on the oldest one. thanks again would recommend this place unless you want rims thengoonlime or go to rent a rim and pay outright.. read more

Good Humans, they work fast. The tires they sell, are absolutely affordable. Compare them to anyone, and that other place will lose.

I am a long time customer and have found that they go out of their way to be accommodating, courtesius and helpful. Excellent service and consistently fair, if not the lowest, prices. Highly recommend! read more

my front passenger tire was losing air. the men working were able to figure out what was wrong (there was a gash going against the tread), and replace the tire in an hour. it was easy to schedule an appointment, everyone was super friendly and professional. read more

I was shocked to find out that they don't offer tire alignment when you buy a new set of tires. Not sure if that's common place around here but this is standard when buying a new set of tires. If I would've known that they don't offer it, I would've gotten tires elsewhere. Sad part is they didn't even mention it. Only found out after I looked at the bill and asked. Now I have to shell out an extra hundred dollars to get an alignment somewhere else. FYI Walmart auto center doesn't do it either. Crazy. read more

Had 4 tires replaced. Everyone I encountered was friendly and professional. I even accidentally left my water bottle there and they were nice enough to call me to let me know. read more

Had new tires put on at a discount tire shop, they stripped a lug nut and stud on front wheel of my Subaru. Discount tire contracts with Merlin in Loves Park to fix their quality rejects. Took Subaru to Merlin's Complete Auto Care, they replaced the stripped stud and reinstalled stripped out lug nut causing another wheel stud to be stripped out. The tech had to have realize this because the lug not could not be torqued properly. Very poor quality. read more

June 15, 2017 Around 5:20PM I had a flat tire and after the spare was installed I went right to Discount Tire and even though they close at 6:00PM they were willing to take care of my tire; however, it would have been nearly two-hours - again, they were willing to stay open... I couldn't wait and made my way down the road. Great store and willing to stay late - AWESOME customer service, which leads to my next review... read more

I had a not one but two screws in my tire-I went on line and saw they had an opening the next day at 2:00 p.m. I filled in my information and went the next day. they patched the tire and I was out of there within the hour. Fast service and they did not charge me! Would definitely go back especially when I need new tires! read more

Great place and great service. Pre purchased my tires, set an install appointment for today 5/15/20. Not only did I get a call earlier this week that my tires where in, but when I arrived Adam came out to me to confirm everything. The car went in and I pulled it out a few minutes later all done. Definitely the place to go for tires and wheels read more

7 or 8 months ago, my son, who is high functioning autistic, wanted to independently handle a nail in his tire. He went in and was told all 4 tires on a 2 year old Honda with approximately 13,000 miles on the tires (because of snow tire use) had to be replaced to avoid damaging the all wheel drive system. He said no, as the tread was barely worn. The nail also, to my eye, was nowhere near a sidewall to begin with. My complaint asking for tread depth measurements that led them to conclude he needed $900 of tires was met with no meaningful follow up. This place used to be fantastic, but now everything is an upsell. When he went in recently to have snow tires swapped over, they tried to talk him into a different tire than the ones they sold him eight months ago. These guys should really be ashamed of themselves and just go away. read more

Never will go back to again. They messed up my wife's tire sensors and wouldn't fix it. They said it was our fault. The light was never on until they gave it back to us. The mechanic even said it wasn't on when he drove it in. Think twice when you try to get a deal. read more

I ordered some custom rims for my wife's SUV, they were priced WAY better than anyone else, and the dude at the counter got it all ordered for me pretty quickly. A few days later they got them in and installed them right away, I will be using them for sure. read more

When I dropped my car off the price was $128. When I paid it was $164. They said I was not quoted with installation. Was I supposed to install it myself. Firestone would have charged me $148 installation included. I picked it up and the tire pressure light was still on. Asked the 3 guys at the counter if it just takes a while to turn off and 1 guy told me yes and another said well maybe there is a reset switch. You would think the customer would not have to be the one to figure it out. Still not off. The wheel that the tire was put on is absolutely filthy too. Plus there was a jimmy johns wrapper sitting in the driver seat. I mean did they take it to jimmy johns or did they just eat the sandwich in my car. Not really sure. read more

They got my tires and wheels changed right away and their prices were very reasonable. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

If you have an appointment, but you still have to wait in long line for service. Then what is the point of appointment? Customers make an extra effort for appointment, business should honor that efforts. Isn't it? read more

These guys were awesome. We got a flat tire right down the street from them, and not only did they honor their policy to fix repairable tires, they were okay with us coming in 15 minutes after closing on a Friday when I'm sure they'd have rather been cracking open a cold one with the boys. Thanks to Chris and Jason for helping us out! read more

Called around 11:45am asking to make an appointment for a simple tire rotation and the man on the phone said if I could come in right away I could be out in 45 minutes. Made it there by12:15 with my wife who took a half day off from work to spend some time together. At 1:15 they still had not gotten to my car. I told the man at the desk we needed to go soon. He spoke to a manager and came back and said they would get to the car in 5 minutes. After a 15 minute wait we decided to leave. Normally, good service but today they dropped the ball. I would have been OK if they were up front and honest about the actual wait and not waste my time. read more

The Machnesney Park Discount Tire was able to get winter tires for my Fiesta ST when none of the other retailers in the area could. (I waited longer than I should have, my bad.) Not only did they try to put two different tires than what was requested on the car, but they also added insurance to all of the tires without even asking. This isn't the first time this type of situation has happened to people I know that went here, but I thought they should get a second chance. Double check everything before paying here. read more
