They scammed me. Went in for a slow leak in 1 tire and now none of my pressure sensors work. They wanted to sell me 4 new tires and the guy was banging on the side of my van as I tried to drive away. I'm out $60 plus whatever it is going to cost me to fix it at a legit place. How can people do this? I would be so ashamed to scam people or even to associate with them. read more

I will never take any of my vehicles to discount tire again I have four vehicles and I spend a lot of money on tires and I drive a lot of miles. I was there yesterday and told them pacifically that I want all the beads cleaned because they are leaking and I would like all the tires rebalanced. I marked all the tires before I went in there they did not balance any of the tires they only fixed the one tire that I had the most problems with it had a nail in the tire. They sold me a new tire, the rest of the tires they did not balance Nor did they clean the beads. I pay extra for the tire warranty from now on I will go to Costco Costco does not charge for tire balance rotation or anything. Their price is included with their tires and they charge less discount tire adds all these fees in when you purchase the tire, but I'm most upset because they could not do what I asked him to do because they're lazy. I used to work for a commercial tire company. It's not that hard to clean the beads on aluminum rims and balanced tires. All they care about is selling tires. They don't care about the maintenance or what people ask them to do if you're not buying a tire they could care less. read more

Showed up to the Rockford location without an appointment, on Saturday morning.. Salesman greeted me quickly, and had everything set to go in under 10 minutes. I was in and out in around an hour and 45 minutes. Very quick service all things considered. Only minor complaint I have. The techs need to check the PARKING BRAKE when moving manual transmission vehicles. When my vehicle was pulled out of the bay and brought to me, the parking brake was still on, most likely from when I set it when I arrived.. read more

I believe that over the years I've purchase 8 sets of tire from this location. Dealt with a lot of different employees and they have routinely been polite and professional. Received one possibly defective tire and they paid for my car to be towed and replaced the tire with a new one even after I'd put 1000 miles on it. There was also a good chance that I'd run over something but they didn't question at all. The shop is always humming with activity and I'm sure they make mistakes but I've never received less than great service and a fair price. Haven't even thought about going elsewhere. read more

I called at 8 am yesterday (Monday) to report that I had a screw in my tire and half the air was gone. I was told there were no appointments that day but I could either make one online for Tuesday or walk in and they would work me in between scheduled appointments. I had to go out of town today (Tuesday), so I drove the car there and checked in at 8:15. This is warranty work because the tires were purchased several months ago. The tracking text I received at checkin said erroneously that I had arrived around 9:30 and that the estimated time for service would be around 10:30. After patiently waiting 7-1/2 hours at the store, politely asking several times (and several different agents) when my car would be serviced, I finally asked loudly if I won the prize for waiting the longest at any Discount Tire store. The agent said he did not have control over when wait-listed customers were served. I asked to speak to whomever did. The agent went back to the shop, and two other customers who had been waiting more than 6 hours thanked me. The agent returned and said they would pull a technician off other jobs and work on our three cars since only a single tire was affected on each. My car was serviced in about 20 minutes after a total wait of 8 hours +. The agents were very polite and professional throughout the day while dealing with all customers. However, the scheduling system does not work. If the shop is unable to service vehicles in a timely way, they should tell customers up front. Eight hours is not acceptable. In addition, while waiting, we three used handheld devices which ran our batteries down, rendering them useless for the last several hours. Simple customer service would include charging stations accessible during excessively long waits. While I do not drink coffee, others said they would have expected complimentary coffee and a TV monitor. The only amenity available was bottled water. I have been extremely complimentary in previous reviews of Discount Tires. However, emergencies do not happen at scheduled times, and this was a massive customer service failure. read more

Discount Tire on Fincham has won my business for the duration. I'm here in Rockford temporarily, and don't really have a long-standing relationship with any businesses. I figured DT is a big chain, so I gave them a try. When I bought a set of tires, they didn't try to upsell me--just sold me the right tire for my vehicle's age and condition. When I was getting a "low pressure" warning, I was able to pull into the garage and a crew checked and aired up the four tires. During a recent trip to Virginia, one of my tires went flat from road debris. I'd purchased the hazard insurance for each new tire and was, admittedly, a bit skeptical at the time. I got the tire replaced at another business. Discount Tire corporate and the guys at the local shop took care of the reimbursement quickly and as promised: I highly recommend this company and location! read more

11 BMW 335i spent an hour for 2 front tires. tech came to tell me he was done and that they stripped my lug nut and now have to spend my time over at Merlins -Riverside and have them re-thread, my lug nut back on however when I got to Merlins... they told me after removing the wheel to take a look at it that Merlin Tech said Discount Tire actually stripped 3 of 5 lug nuts on the one wheel (But only told me one was stripped). Spent 1.5hours at Merlins as they had to re-thread 3 new holes for my lug nuts. Only value- tire certificate. Literally, What are your employees taught? Purchased four tires for our travel trailer online for $424 and set up the appointment for five days later. Two days after setting the appointment I received an email stating all four tires arrived at the location and verified the appointment time for two days later. Arrived at our appointment time and was told there would be a wait due to them taking care of walk-ins (what's the point of appointments then?) and one of their bays being shut down due to an employee showing up drunk and plowing a car thru the bay door and destroying everything in their path. Lovely. THEN, we are told our tires actually "weren't there", but they would "let us have the most expensive Goodyears if we paid another $268" because, conveniently, that was all they had in stock in that size. When questioned as to why we got the confirmation email stating our tires had, in fact, arrived several days prior we got a silly "well,you can't trust FedEx" and then some ridiculous story about corporate trying "something new" blah blah. Then,the gaslighting commenced as to how he was doing us some sort of favor for THEIR SCREW UP. Sounded to us like they sold our PAID FOR tires out from under us and we were being baited and switched, but nothing they would admit to. Finally, after threatening to patch our lawyer into a call the employee stated he would "just give us the Goodyear tires for the price we already paid to get us out the door" like WE screwed up. And THEN seemed to be fishing for some sort of thank you, which he did not get. Yes, I'm glad we benefited from THEIR mistake, but was furious at the thought that another patron might have fallen for that tactic. Take it for what u will, but I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on just to avoid their games in the future....better tires or not! read more

Discount Tire always has the best prices for tires, and they provide many services for free. They even rotated tires I purchase somewhere else for free. I would easily give them five stars if not for their customer service. It's not that their customer service is bad per se, but it is never really friendly. I will continue to buy my tires there simply because they are the best tire store in town without a doubt. My one suggestion is to find the tires you want online before you go into the store. They have a wide selection and many great prices on low-end tires. read more

Worst experience! Arrived at noon and purchased 4 tires. Told I'd be back on the road at about 2:15. Nope! Didn't happen! 3:00 and my car hasn't been touched. On my second inquiry I was told they would take me in now and to give them 20 minutes. 3:30 they come and tell me they don't have the tires I purchased. The tires on my vehicle were bald, my reason for being there, so they could not put them back on my car they gave me no option but to go with a different tire that they did have in stock and gave me a receipt that says the "the tire I chose is different from the original equipment provided with your vehicle and may change its handling or stability characteristics" I DID NOT CHOOSE THIS! It wasn't until I asked for a manager and the regional office phone number that they offered me a refund on one tire worst customer service ever. I'm pissed! read more

I wish I could give 0 stars right now. I dropped my car off at 11:29 in the morning for a tire rotation and went back at 4:45 at night to pick it up and it wasnt ready. I was told that it would be but when I wanted to pick it up I was told that there was still 2 cars ahead of me that were there from this morning. After asking for my keys back I was told it wouldn't be much longer and that the guys were averaging 8 to 9 cars an hour. Well if that's the case how did mine not get done? I have never had this much issue. Better communication would be nice and being told proper information would be nice as well, but until then I will take my car to a different location. read more

In the past years I've had issues with tires and Discount Tire has been there to help me out. When I needed to get four new tires on my truck I didn't hesitate to take my truck here to have them do the work. The service was friendly; the guys at the counter were informative and answered my questions. They made recommendations and explained the difference in the tires that would work for my truck. I felt the service was done in a timely fashion, especially since they said there were six vehicles ahead of me. Was a pleasant experience until the guys there did a hard sale and started feeling the urge to pull one over on me. Only wanted my front tires replaced. There was a bit of a wait so I went to a few other stores near by to kill time. When I came back they gave me some story about how my back tires were to worn to be usable so they replaced them without my permission. When I asked why, they said it was a safety hazard and that they were going to blow out. The back tires weren't even 18months old. The front tires were the ones that were worn and needed replacing Then when I asked if they could put on my back tires, because I was refusing to pay for the extra tires they decided to add on, they said that they couldn't. The manager said he couldn't let me out of the garage with those old tires. This went on for another 20mins before I had to get going for an appointment. Worst sales experience I've ever come across. I purposely go out of my way to get my tires at any other place in town. Even if those tires at a different store are more expensive, at least I won't have them try and do some borderline criminal activity like what they pulled on me. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Sat for an hour and 20 minutes just for then to tell me they couldn't mount the tire. All while treating me like I dont know anything (ive worked in the tire business for years prior). Called another tire place 3 miles away, asked specifically about my tire set up with wheels and they said no problem. I went to discount tires on December 27, 2017 to have a flat tire repaired and purchase a new tire. I was told they didn't carry the brand tire I wanted to purchase so I ended up having the repaired flat tire placed back on my car but I still purchased a new tire that was placed under my suv as my new spare because the spare I drove in on was beginning to dry rot and needed to be discarded. On January 23, 2018 I noticed that the brand new spare tire I purchased on December 27, 2017 was no longer mounted underneath my vehicle where discount tires has mounted it. Now I have owned my vehicle since August 2010 and this was the very first time I had ever had a flat tire or had need to remove my spare from underneath my car, therefore the roadside assistance technician who removed the spare from underneath my car and placed it on my vehicle and the discount tires technician who mounted the new spare tire back underneath my car are the only times the spare tire has been touched since I've owned my car. I have never had an issue in the seven years that I have owned my car with anyone tampering with my spare tire, I park in my garage at home and right in front of my office at work. When I contacted discount tires at (7051 Fincham Dr Rockford, IL 61108) I spoke to an assistant manager named Bill, I explained the situation to him and he agreed to replace the tire and rim, he said he needed to order the rim because he didn't have a rim, he said it would be a new factory rim and a new tire, the same one I purchased on December 27, 2017. I received a call today from a different assistant manager named Antonio, he called to tell me my tired and rim were in, I explained the matter to him and asked if I can come in any time to have my spare tire mounted or did I have to wait until Bill was in, he said well you can come in any time but It will be best if you wait until Bill is in because he didn't know what was discussed between Bill and I. I told him I'm sure there are some notes or something explaining the situation and I didn't feel I should be inconvenienced any further, I'm already driving without a spare tire in the middle of winter due to negligence on their part and my daily commute is one hour each way, he made it pretty clear to me that he didn't feel that it was any negligence on discount tires part (again I have never had an issue with my spare coming up missing in the seven years I've owned my car, until discount tires remounted it). Antonio went on to be very condescending in his tone as he spoke to me and he never extending any apology to me the customer nor did he extend any customer service in resolving the matter. My conversation with Antonio ended with me having to wait four days until Bill will be in, to get my tire replaced and he also told me if he had spoken to me he would not have replaced the tire and the rim for free, so that is why I need to speak to Bill. I am very unhappy with the service I have received from discount tires in Rockford and to think, I waited at least two hours for the service I received on December 27, 2017 only to have this happen. I wish I could have given a zero star rating. I am going back in on Monday January 29, 2018 to have them replace my missing spare tire, I really hope they don't try to say the tire being missing is not due to any negligence on their part, in order to try to make me pay for a new tire and rim. I have to give credit where it is due. I made an appointment for a tire rotation/balance over the internet, and I arrived at my appointment about 45 minutes early. They got me in right away and I was done within a half hour. Great customer service from the young man who checked me in and from the mechanic who worked on my car. They kept me informed of everything. Later on in the day, I brought my other car in for a tire rotation/balance, this time without an appointment. They seemed busy, but again they got me in quickly and I was out in less than an hour. During both appointments, I sat in the waiting room and listened to several of the employees working the front desks checking in people and answering phones. My tire pressure monitoring light keeps staying on even I inflated them correctly. Took the car to the dealer and they said it might be the sensor issue, looking at $200 per wheel. I called Discount Tire Store, Joe picked up the phone and instructed me to bring in the car at bay 1 and his team will check it out. They checked all 4 sensors, all fine, then went ahead and reset the indicator, gave me 4 new tire valve caps for free since I lost mine. All took about 10 min and didn't charge me a dime! Great service and beyond fair pricing--I was traveling through IL and thought I had a leaky tire. While I had to wait a couple of hours (they were really busy) they didn't charge me a thing when they checked all my tires and found out they were ok, after all. Only took off a star because the clerk didn't lock my car after parking--when I asked he said "I think I did" but when I checked he hadn't (even though I had a car full of possessions and it was out of partially out of sight from the waiting area). read more
