I came in because I was having issues with my Jeep starting, I believe there was damage to one of the cable harnesses amongst other things... Matt and Terry assisted me and it was smooth sailing. I went to a few other places before coming here and the service was terrible. Glad I came here... and I also feel it is very affordable unlike other places where they rip you off. I'll be returning read more

The best auto repair shop ever. They don't rip you off, and they do great Work. The customer service is great. And they do quality work.

I don't love to take my car to a shop as I've been scammed. So I was very nervous leaving my car at Terry's. But Matt was so helpful, kind, and they were even able to fix my car the same day! He told me which coil needed to be replaced, and gave me recommendations on which brand to buy when the others go out over time. The price was reasonable for the quality of work, and I would happily go back if I ever needed to! This place was not close to me, but my car had started misfiring about a half a mile away, so I had no choice. I'm so happy Matt was knowledgeable, friendly, and able to fix my car! read more

Trust this business to service and repair your auto. They care about the quality and safety of their repairs. The men who work on my SUV back up their work. I drive almost 70 miles for regular maintenance and repairs. It's worth it. If you live locally, find your way over to a great place of business. read more

A year ago while at the Fullerton train station I saw 'TERRY'S AUTOMOTIVE" on Santa Fe Av. Many years ago I had used a 'Terry's Automotive' not fa away. I went in to see if it was the same 'Terry's' from 20+ years ago and it was! I was pretty sure right then that any of my car problems would be fixed and the price would be fair. I was right on both. Maybe I got lucky but Monday morning while returning from a LAX trip I called to make an appointment to drop off my car and it get checked out. They told me come in before noon and they could get right to it. I had 2 problems and within 2 hours they called with an estimate and it would be ready before 5pm! I expected to pay almost twice as much and pick it up tomorrow maybe. ps I sometimes browse through 1-star reviews of places I've been to, or might be going to to see if there is in anything in common. Terry's 1 star reviews have some funny things in common. I just now scrolled through Terry's 5 star reviews and a lot of them sounded just like mine... read more

I loved this automotive shop. I ultimately didn't get my car fixed with them, but I had the best customer service with them. They diagnosed my car for free because they weren't able to fix my car the day I dropped off my car and they explained everything to me clearly. I loved the options they gave me and if I had to choose an automotive shop to fix my car all over again it would be these guys! read more

I needed to have my wheel locks checked out to make sure the wheel lock opener fits the lug nuts on my car wheels. I had a bad experience at Kia of Huntington Beach where they were not honest with me about my wheel lock set. So, I came to see Mat and he checked out all my wheels for me. He is the best mechanic I know in all of Orange County. I trust him, his word, and with my car. I have brought all of my cars to him for years, and he has never let me down. It's very difficult to find honest mechanics, but Terry's Automotive is the best place around. I recommend bringing your car to them if you have any problems with it. They are the ultimate best!! Thank you Mat, for your integrity!!! read more

Hello Yelpers, I've been a customer of Terrys Automotive for a few years now. They have worked on my truck , my daughters Jeep and my cousins fleet of sweepers. I've only had amazing experiences with both Terry and Matt. Both are of the earth for sure honest. Additionally, they are kind, funny and honest. There staff are hard working as well. At times they can busy and you will wait but it well worth it. If you're looking for a good shop, look no further. read more

I'm from out of town and needed some brake work on my car. Called Terry's; they were very busy but said drop the car off and they'll assess the problem. To my great and pleasant surprise, Matt called back and said they could do the work that afternoon! The repair was done expertly, ready by end-of-day, and the price was very reasonable. I totally recommend Terry's to anyone, local or visitor. read more

This is the second time I write a review about Terry and his crew. I had a conversation with him about my Prius, which had a 100,000 on it and unlike some dishonest mechanics, he didn't try to get me to do any unnecessary maintenance work. This morning I took my car for a break check and again he came with his honest response that the breaks were ok. His honesty was again on display. I was referred to him years ago by a couple of friends and they were right. If you want honest and good mechanics, Terry's is the place. I strongly recommend him!!! read more

Matt and his team did an awesome job!! I got a quote from another shop to replace my oil pan for $1400. I brought my truck to Matt and walked out with $148 bill and my truck was fixed the right way!! Thanks guys!! Job well done! read more

Amazing customer service ! Great at communication and very helpful! 10/10 would return and recommend to anyone.

Best Automotive Shop!!! Terry, Matt and the mechanics are awesome. They are honest and very reasonable. The Customer Service is excellent. They explained everything and even drew a diagram so I can understand what the previous mechanics did wrong. You may have to wait to get your car serviced but I promise you it will be worth the wait. I recommend this shop to everyone. I am a customer for life! read more

They deserve 5+ Matt and Terry are always helpful, courteous and offer advice to AVOID future issues (and costs). I have an occasion where my starter acted up (for me). It was there for two days, Matt said it started for him every time, no issue. Gave the car back to me with, "it's kind of a mystery, but it's fine!" no bill, no fake starter repair or replacement. Many cars over the years, our family has owned VW, Infiniti, Honda, BMW and Ford. All have been serviced, repaired here with excellent results. read more

Excellent! Informative and honest which I very much appreciate. A different shop wanted to charge me 4 grand for a new transmission but after getting a second opinion it turned out all I needed was a new radiator. Glad I got a second opinion from this honest shop!!! Would recommend and will return! read more

The best place in Orange County to take your car new or old. No matter the issue with your car big or small the guys at terrys always put 100% into the job at hand. I won't let anyone else touch my vehicles. read more

Wonderful experience bringing my car to Terry's. It's always tough finding a trustworthy place to bring your car especially as a female who really doesn't know much about cars. Matt took care of me and my car and he didn't try and tell me I needed anything extra done with my car. Will keep bringing my car to Terry's for sure! read more

Not Happy. Took my car in today for brakes. Terry, the owner, refused to do the work for me, even though I had set aside the time, willing to pay, and had an appointment for it. I wanted this repair taken care of before summer. I was told I didn't need it but I knew I was close to needing it and wanted it done. Hell or high water, the man would not do the job for me today. I won't be back. Otherwise, in the past for years, he has been my mechanice. read more

My family has been taking our cars to Terry's for 15+ years. They are extremely honest and fair, stand by their work and will let you know if they are not the best shop for a particular job. A few examples of their honesty...1) My sisters first car was a 1984 beater Ford Mustang. There was a crack in the power steering pump and it leaked. Terry said the cost to replace it would be about as much as the car was worth. He gave her a case of power steering fluid and said to re-fill the pump when it gets empty and get a new car. Another shop probably would've sold her a new pump and pocketed a few hundred dollars. 2) My sister took her new car in because the "brake light" lit up on the dash. She assumed that meant she needed new brakes. Turned out she was just low on brake fluid. Terry refilled it for free and sent her on her way. Another shop might've sold her new brakes/rotors etc. for hundreds of dollars. 3) I took my truck in for some work (can't remember what). About a week prior I had my alignment done at a shop Terry recommended. It turned out that they did not tighten some parts of my suspension correctly and had I not taken it to Terry's when I did I could've been in a serious accident. Terry made the truck safe to drive, called the alignment shop for me and let them know of the problem so I could take my truck back and have them redo the alignment. Another shop might not have noticed the faulty repair job and certainly wouldn't have taken the time to help a customer correct it at another shop. I HIGHLY recommend Terry's automotive. You'd be hard pressed to find a more honest and fair repair shop in OC. read more

Excellent service do exactly what they say they will I love this place and the people that work there

Best service around! Matt came out and checked my car before I paid for a tow truck. He realized what I thought was the starter was just a dead battery so he juiced me up enough for me to drive to his shop. They are installing my battery now! Very happy with the service and humor of this place. Thanks Matt! read more

We have been taking both of our vehicles to Terry's for several years now. We are extremely satisfied with the results and pricing. Very nice. Clean establishment. Service was great. Didn't try to "sell" me anymore than I asked for

I was turned on to this mechanic by coworkers, mostly female. Our company has a Fleet Manager who maintains our co. vehicles mostly by himself, but as needed goes to Terry's. Good referral right there. As I've needed repairs and maintenance done, big and small, I ask around as to who goes where. The ladies at the office all go to Terry's with confidence! I've always found it intimidating (being a not-mechanically inclined female) going to a repair place and being at the mercy of whatever they told me I needed. Twice I have taken 2 different cars to other places, gotten a quote, stating I'd have to check finances and get back to them. Went to Terry's and one time the problem was not what the other place told me, and the other time Terry's was 1/2 the price. Totally confident with them - not going anywhere else. One more thing - the extra mile. I took my car in for an oil change this week and picked it up about noon. Later in the day I took a break to run an errand and when I got back in the car, I couldn't get my key to turn. I called and talked to Matt, told him the situation and that I wondered if I got towed to their shop if it was something they could fix or did I need to take it to the dealer (I was thinking my ignition was shot). He asked where I was, I was less than a mile away, so he told me to hold on and he'd be RIGHT OVER!!! Who does that?!?! Good, ol' plain ol' great service shops with GREAT customer service still do!! My key was worn out by the way, he got my car started, suggested I use my spare and get a new spare made off of my spare. Done. I can't say enough good things about this place and their performance and customer service. read more
