Charlies Auto Tech is my favourite place I have ever taken my car. A few years ago when we moved to the area, my wife's car needed some work doing so I took it to Charlies and told them what I think it needed doing. A few hours later Mike called me and told me that some of the things I thought needed doing actually didn't need doing at all, which saved us money. Since then it is the only place I take either of our cars and they will regularly tell me when something I think needs doing doesn't need doing yet. They will also openly tell me if they recommend I take my car somewhere else (I had a cosmetic issue with a soft top convertible roof and they recommended someone who specialises in this). It is so rare to find a business where you trust them to turn down work if your car doesn't need something doing when you think it does. If you want an honest mechanic, Charlies is the only place I would confidently recommend. read more

This is my happy place these guys are amazing. Never happy when I go in but always happy when I leave. You can trust they are not there to charge you for stuff you don't need. Trust that Mike and his family will take care of you and whatever you may need. So happy we found this shop, Mike already feels like family. Thank you Mike, hope this review brings you many more customers so you can stay open forever. Seriously go talk to Mike if you love your Benz! read more

Trustworthy, kind, and efficient. Mike is a great guy who keeps it real. I got scammed by the Honda dealership and Mike helped clear the air and make sure that my car was running safely while also not charging me thousands of dollars like the dealership would have. He supports women, which honestly is hard to find in the mechanic field these days. I would recommend taking your car to Charile's Auto Tech, and I will personally be returning for any/all car maintenance in the future. read more

I've been going to Charlie's for years. It's hard to find a mechanic you can truly trust, and by trust I mean does great work, at a reasonable price, and does not try to fix things that aren't broken. I've recommended Charlie's to so many people and he hasn't disappointed. Mike runs the business and is a great guy, give Charlie's a try! read more

Just an update to let anyone who is in need of a reliable and reputable auto mechanic and auto maintenance services, I stand by all of my previous reviews. You get the service and quality you pay for and you know that Charlie and Mike will stand behind their work. I used to do my own auto maintenance and repairs, so I am particular about who I entrust my vehicles to and these guys are the real deal. Thanks Mike and Charlie for being there and for doing a great job. read more

Here at Charlie's they have so much experience can answer any questions you have and will help you with all your car needs

Great place they are always super helpful and friendly. Used them for multiple cars over the years and have never been disappointed.

Mike is the best! Been bringing him all my cars, my parents cars, extended family vehicles, friends, etc. Well priced, solid service and all around a great shop. read more

I can't say enough good things about Charlie's Auto. Mike was recommended by a friend, and I am forever grateful. Charlie's is the kind of mechanic everyone hopes to find--knowledgeable, fair-priced, trustworthy, and genuinely kind. He takes the time to explain what's going on with your vehicle without any pressure or upselling, and you always leave knowing your car was in good hands. After he serviced my daughter's car, I feel completely confident letting her drive it across country. I'll be recommending Charlie's Auto to everyone I know. If you're looking for a mechanic who treats you like family and your car like his own, this is the place. Thank you! read more

Mike and Charlie are awesome. I was referred to them by a friend and I have been so happy to have found them. They maintain our Honda car and my Chevy Truck. Very trust worthy mechanics and good honest convenient business mannerisms. They not only work on your vehicle's reason you bring it in, but they take notice of any potential concerns or future possible maintenance to think about. Thank you Charlie and Mike, I appreciate your service. read more

Took my car into the shop for what I thought could be an expensive repair. Mike jumped in the car with me so I could show him the problem. Within 10 min, the problem was resolved and I was on my way. He also suggested a body shop for another issue I had with my car. I so appreciate their help. As a single, elder woman it's concerning to have to rely on mechanics, contractors, and other repair personnel. Honesty is still alive at Charlie's Auto Tech and I highly recommend them. read more

Mike and his team exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, Mike was transparent, honest, and incredibly straightforward--qualities that are rare to find in this business. No bs. He explained everything clearly, provided a fair estimate, and stuck to it. No upselling, no hidden fees, just good work at a reasonable price. They took care of my car for maintenance and, most importantly, did not recommend unnecessary services. The entire process was stress-free. If you're tired of mechanics who give you the runaround, this is the place to go. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Mike is the man. Everyone knows that a good and honest mechanic is so hard to come by. I would highly recommend Charlie's for your auto care needs. They're reliable, very trustworthy, and do solid work. Definitely give them a try! read more

Simply amazing service! My car issue was identified and repaired efficiently and effectively. My go to for auto repairs in Brea.

Amazing work, I was recommended by a family member and I do not regret coming here. I had a bad alternator that blew and got towed here with no appointment. They worked with me and let me know everything they were going to do. As well as finishing hours before they estimated, they were also able to maintain a piece that was meant to be replaced that would've been almost another 200$. Most places would have charged 3x of what I was quoted. Thank you guys, my car sounds brand new again after 4-5 months of repair at OTHER tire shops read more

My car was having problems for a few weeks before I decided to do anything about it. This is mostly because I haven't found a shop that I like or one where I don't feel like I'm being ripped off. I turned to Yelp and Charlie's came up first so that's where I ended up. Thanks Yelp community for this gem! I was asked to describe my car problems and all I said was "it's super loud." They took my car in with that being my only description of the problem. I got a phone call about an hour later with the diagnosis and they were able to fix it that same day! I spoke with Michael and he was very upfront about the problem, price, and explained it again when I told him I didn't understand. I will absolutely be taking my car here for maintenance from now on. read more

Spoke with Michael. He was thorough, patient and honest. Michael took the time to explain what was wrong with the car and listed them by priorities. He gave me options on cost saving ways to fix things while also disclosing the cons to moving forward in that direction. I would highly recommend his shop to anyone looking for a mechanic that values integrity and is skilled at his craft. Thank you for keeping my family safe on the roads! read more

Previously took our car to the dealer and gave us a long list of potential problems but could not pinpoint the exact issue. We took it to Charlie's and Mike and team diagnosed and fixed our issue in a timely manner. Very clear and upfront. I trust their assessments and they followed through with the repairs. Would highly recommend their services for any of your car repairs. read more

So glad I found Charlie's auto tech. This family owned shop goes above and beyond with their services. My Lexus Gx470 only has 110k miles and was showing a code for its catalytic converter. It is not a cheap part to replacement and most other shops would've told me to just get it replaced but Mike gave me a very reasonable and doable solution to try before shelling out some major dollars to replacing it possibly prematurely. These guys have such high integrity and are incredibly reliable with their work. I'm so glad I live 6 min away from them. I'll be servicing my family's vehicles with them for many years to come. Thank you Mike and Charlie! read more

Charlie and Mike provide the best customer service. Takes the time to explain what's going on and not pushy on recommendations. My CEL came on and I brought it to Charlie's Auto Tech to check it out. Showed my codes that popped up on the reader w/o charge. I just moved here and I'm glad I found a trustworthy auto shop. Also did my oil changed here. Appointment only on Wednesdays for oil changes which makes them really efficient, my car was ready in about an hour. Thank you Charlie and Mike! read more

Again, great service from Mike and Charlie, today they are replacing my shocks. Always kind, always professional and they always give me an update when working on my car. I have a 20 year old Lexus and they definitely keep it in good shape for me. I'm not even thinking about a new car at this point, they keep it running great. Family business, very honest mechanics and they tell it like it is. Don't hesitate for a moment to go and see them, I won't take my car anywhere else. Highly recommended. read more

Mike and Charlie are excellent! They work hard and do an excellent job consistently! This shows because we all have cars that are over 10 to nearly 20 years old all still in great condition! It really gives us peace of mind to know we can bring our cars to Mike and Charlie and can trust their recommendations. And they always provide honest advice as if this was their car. For instance my car and not driving in the desert really didn't need suspension system even though the seller told me it needed to be replaced. This allows us to all sleep at night wake up in the morning safely and without breaking the bank! We look forward to working with Mike and Charlie at Charlie's Auto tech we're driving read more

Mom had an issue with her 7 Series BMW having worn out motor mounts and they recommended the cheapest and best route. They were fair with their prices and very honest about the work that needs to be done. The owner and son seem like very fair and level headed people will definitely be doing business again. read more

Service was AMAZING. Michael was knowledgeable and friendly. Greeted me like we've known each other for years. Work done was as excellent. Pricing was extremely reasonable and they worked with my budget. I highly recommend them! read more

Charlie's Auto Tech is great. The front lights on my car stopped working. Mercedes of Anaheim told me it was not just the lights, but instead an electrical problem that would be $2700 to fix. My car is old and not worth much, so I was actually shopping for a new car until a friend said I should have Charlie's check it out. I'm so glad I did! The dealership lied about the repair--all I needed were light bulbs. Mike was knowledgeable and kind. I'm so happy to have an honest and fair priced repair place nearby. I highly recommend! read more

Last night, the check engine light flashed on my 2010 Toyota Prius. I searched for a mechanic in Brea because I'd be in town for the afternoon. They said there was availability today to diagnose, so I dropped off my car in the morning, promptly received a follow-up call about my car's worn out spark plugs and brakes, then picked up my car later that afternoon after they finished the repairs. Thanks again! read more

Very weak advice, Older man, the owner was just without knowledge on a 2014 Honda. They Charged $ 100.00 for a oil change of 4 1/2 quarts. Run from this place, Poor service and Expensive!!! read more

I used Charlie's Auto Tech a few years back to replace the ignition stitch for my 2005 Highlander, and was very happy with their service. I called them again today for some issues I'm having with tire pressure sensors and fuel door. Charlie and Mike are the best. Great customer service and outstanding mechanics! They keep all of our cars on the road.

I won't go anywhere else for auto repairs of any kind. Charlie and Mike ( his son ) are the most honest, reliable, dependable and trustworthy mechanics I have ever used. Always friendly with a smile. Don't believe me? Check out Charlie's Auto Tech on yelp. read more

Got my very first service here. Mike was very helpful and answered all my inquiries well and I was quickly in and out of there. Change oil done. Will come back for more services. read more

Mike was amazing! Super knowledgeable are helpful. I had called for a quote on an alternator (the AAA tow person told me 100% that it was my alternator), but Mike was able to determine, over the phone, that that was a mis-diagnosis. He was super knowledgeable about my car and outlined recommendations on how to remedy the situation, even didn't try to get me to come in or get the service done there. Being super ignorant about cars, one of my biggest hesitations is not being able to trust mechanics - Mike seems like a super honest dude and I would come to his shop for any future car issues. Thank you Mike! read more

I cannot recommend Charlie's enough. Very honest mechanic, will tell you if your issue might be covered under factory warranty, fair pricing and no upselling. Great work, very trustworthy! read more

When I called to ask about a new clutch, I knew right away I was talking to an expert. He knew exactly what was wrong and didn't just give me a standard answer about a resurface like everyone else. While in the shop, he wouldn't take money from the guy ahead of me after diagnosing a problem the guy didn't want to have fixed. When working on the car he kept me aware of the progress and didn't change the price after the job took much longer than expected (this is common on my truck and not a reflection on them). When I arrived to pay, he gave me a cash discount without asking for one. Wasn't the cheapest quote but was accurate, knowledgeable, friendly and available. I'll be back next time I need a master mechanic. read more
