Excellent and honest transmission shop. Went in to have my transmission serviced (fluid and filter change) on my 2018 Silverado with 66k miles. I mentioned about doing the axle also and Charlie suggested that since I don't do any towing, I should just wait until the 100k mark. Some shops might have seen it as an opportunity to upsell more services. Not with these guys. As a matter of fact, they could have charged me for a gasket that I didn't need without me knowing, but they didn't. Charlie mentioned the gasket it had was a reusable one. Brought my sons 05 Ford here Charlie took great care of us, they rebuilt the transmission had a small issue taken care of no problems. But it had a leak still, machined part put in by another shop was machined incorrectly. Charlie is probably the most honest and helpful mechanic I've ever dealt with! My repair quote was $4K-$6K and instead of taking my money or even charging me for the diagnosis he suggested going to dealership (even with warranty up) and talk to them. I did and surprisingly the dealership agreed with Charlie and rebuilt the transmission for $500! Any other shop would have taken my money with a smile! I was referred to Overbey by a family friend in March 2021, I left my car there for 6 weeks because they were so busy, i finally got my car back and paid 4,100.00. My transmission has slipped since then I brought it back they said it was fine, I parked at Trader Joe's got out went to get my mom out and the car is rolling, I call them they check it they say it's fine, I brought it back yesterday Joe said drive me in it so you can show me the problem we get in the car put it in reverse it would not back up after 4 times he said i get it no need to try anymore. again I paid 4,100.00 and had problems there should be no more charges for them to make it right. 4,100.00 they had it for 6 weeks and it never was fixed correctly. My 2003 BMW 320i had transmission issues and needed to be rebuilt so I called up Mike and he was nothing but helpful to me. Solid quote, took the shop a week and the car was back to me no problem. I did have a torque converter fail after the rebuild (they source their Torque Converters out of shop) which isn't their fault, and Mike took care of it again no questions asked and got it all sorted out. They really stand behind their work and are very honest / genuine people which is VERY hard to find nowadays. They also have the drive on lifts which was needed as my jack point is rusted out. Took my 2010 Jeep patriot in to see about getting an upgraded cooling system for the CVT transmission. After performing the diagnostic they let me know my 11 year old transmission was basically a ticking time bomb and the only thing to do would be to completely replace the transmission. Since the cost to order a new transmission from Jeep and the labor to install it was more than the value of the car we opted to take it home and go car shopping. They didn't charge us for the time it took to do the diagnostic and stress test, just asked we send business their way! read more

I understand that backorders occur. But if there was valid communication between Scott and I then I would've been told so and given the option to pick up my car and return when the parts are available. There's no reason for my car to be stuck at your shop for a month! Week after week the pick up time would be postponed. There are millions of auto shops out there that get this sort of job done in a week. But what do I know, I'm just a kid. I didn't write this review to have an internet battle with a mechanic. Any muscle car guy out there looking for a trust worthy shop for trans repair look no further, Its not every day I have someone work on my 69 Camaro with a buttload of power haha. just look at my pic of my baby on his page an you'll know ;) Anyways this is a long past due review for these guys and had to post it because she is still roaring like a beast down the track and on some side streets ;) haha To be honest they did the first rebuild on the whole trans at a good price for the better bands and clutches to handle the power, ended up blowing a check valve years later, $10 part, not due to their work which is important, so I got a really good price on replacing it later, its been years since, no problems with my baby and she still roars down the track ;) Also since I trusted them I had them weld on spacer plates for my rear end to make it a sold rear end so the leaf spring pads dont spit themselves out, since it happened on a regular due to lack of extra springs I had. All went good and I shaved a little more off my 1/8 mile time thanks to Scott's crew!! Thanks again guys but I hope I dont see you till the fluid change hahaha read more

What more can i say about a shop that not only is friendly with good prices but also goes the extra mile for you? I brought my 2014 modified WRX to them with an exedy stage 1 organic clutch. I was worried because most of the cars i saw them work on were american. But they took my JDM ride in stride. They not only worked with my work schedule, but kept me updated every step of the way. Nice, clean office. One of the mechanics I met is very polite and hospitable. Reason for 2/5 stars: I brought my car in for overall maintenance and an issue with my transmission. I received my car back and was told to come back if the D light continued to blink (this flashing light was not an issue prior to me bringing my car in) and I thought it was odd that it should occur after the repair. The D light never stopped blinking and I noticed a new issue, which was that a strange clicking noise was coming from my dashboard every time I slowed to a stop, related to the shifting. I brought my car back in and was told both of those new issues were unrelated to the work done on my car. I can't prove their work caused it, but it left me feeling very uncomfortable with the service. Regardless, I gave them the benefit of the doubt to fix the new issues. They said they'd look into a pressure switch for the blinking D light and research the clicking issue to quote me and call me back as soon as possible. I never got a call back on my car. I paid good money for work to be one on my car and needless to say, I will be going to a different mechanic. read more

I took my classic Ford in for a torque converter swap. I knew it was bad and gave them the parts to install. It was going to be $300. Of course they said my then well working transmission was ready to go and needed a complete rebuild. A month later and $2,000 in parts and labor I got my car back! I had to bring the car back several times for leaks and other problems. I'm still having issues but wouldn't go back on a bet. They made several mistakes along the way like over filing it, damaging the dip stick and the work was shoddy. They beat my headers to death, cut off my exhaust pipes rather than just unbolt them, the shifter still isn't right and they used silicon to fix their leaks! Won't recommend!
