I called a couple shops to get my front rotors and brake pads replaced. I had my own rotors and pads and the couple shops I called either declined to install the rotors/pads I had or were charging a lot. I called Pops and Sons and not only did they give me a fair price, they let me come same day. I got there within 15 minutes of calling, and I was out of there in about an hour. Very reasonable pricing and all of the workers there were extremely friendly. They even had a taco truck there that day for their shop an another shop and they gave me free tacos while I waited for my car to be worked on. The tacos were amazing btw. Love and trust this place. It's a small family business with minimal staff who do the best work. They are fast, forward and transparent with their pricing and work, and do all they can to help. My axle broke on my car. In hopes they were open I had my car towed there in the early AM. When they arrived they helped as quickly as they could, we're able to move some things around and got me fixed & out the door by 4pm same day. That's not always the case but they saw the emergency and did what they could to help. It's small, so they aren't open late / weekends/ holidays, it's a gamble on if they answer the phone cause they're all working - but they will call you back, they will give you the best price, and they will work with you to help you out. We moved 40min away from Fullerton and this is still the only place I'll take my car. read more

I was a mechanic years ago, but now I'm old. I was recommended to pops and so I went. They are very nice people. They replaced my catalytic converters and told me I had an oil leak on my intake manifold. Almost $2000 for both repairs 600 for the intake manifold gasket. I got the truck back and I was happy, but I was still leaking oil. I went back three weeks later they told me both of my head gaskets were leaking oil. This is definitely something that should've been caught or seen when removing the intake manifold. I just paid $600 to replace an intake manifold gasket, which had to be taken off and thrown away to replace the head gaskets. I just finished repairing my truck by myself, replaced the head gaskets, replaced the intake manifold gaskets, but while doing so I found several things that were not connected and left dangling. 2 of my AC compressor bolts were loose because they had been overtightened and stripped the aluminum threads, if they didn't do it, they should've at least told me of this. I am leaving two stars because the catalytic converters were installed correctly, and the intake manifold gasket was installed correctly. Essentially, I took $600 and threw it out the window. Still looking for a shop that I can trust 100%. There is no need for you to respond to me directly, because there is No excuse/ reason that would make me reconsider my review or what I found while repairing my truck myself. read more

After paying nearly $100.00 at a local garage for an oil change, YES $100.00 I was absolutely appalled. I had other more expensive issues with my car and was looking for a reputable place nearby in Fullerton to establish a reliable affordable relationship with. Yelp didn't not disappoint (except that other place) I found Pop and Sons and man I'm glad I did. I was calling other garages to get quotes on the work I needed I didn't get the information soon enough. I needed a place that day. When I reached out to P & S I spoke to Cesar one of the sons. He gave me a quote right away and even after I ended the call with him he continued to communicate with me through text. I was so thankful for the continued info I was receiving and the price of the work along with all the great reviews on Yelp I had to go there. I'm so glad I did. The work was done in a timely manner and when I went to pick up my car I was told my total was less than originally quoted. Bonus. At the end of the business transaction Cesar also gave me a printout of the few recalls from Toyota my car needed. Who does that?? I met Pop and both sons and all were so incredibly nice and professional. I'm a huge fan and will definitely be back for all my mechanical work. The dreaded side wall tire damage happened Sunday night before a major holiday. Scrambling to find a place that would operate on a holiday, I requested a quote and was met with a prompt and professional reply even though it was after hours. We had to buy a used tire elsewhere to get back to Nor Cal on the holiday, so I don't know about the quality of their tires here. Took in my 2017 Ford Fusion in for an oil change about a week ago at this shop. I provided all of the information about the trim and model. I asked them to please have the service done by 1pm and they were done by 12pm, which was great. I picked up my car and once I got home I checked the oil as I always do. To my surprise, the dip stick wasn't reading anything. I thought it was odd, but I decided to let the car sit for about an hour. Well, when I checked again the oil level wasn't high enough to even touch the dip stick. I called the shop and they came by to assess the situation. Turns out that the engine was missing at least a quart of oil. They added oil, but I don't even know if it was full synthetic (that's what I paid for). I asked them and they said it was, but who knows? So maybe my car now has a blend of both regular and full synthetic oil. Whatever. They told me that the next oil change would be free of charge. But I'm not sure I'll be going back. I usually take my car to the Ford dealer, but since the shop is within walking distance I figured it would be better for me. The price was about $30 cheaper, but not sure it was worth it. I do commend the shop for coming to my house to fix the problem. But this is the type of problem that should never, ever happen. The error was that they followed the oil specs of the non-turbo engine, which requires less oil. But my car has the turbo engine. It was an honest mistake, but it just doesn't sit well with me. read more

So, I took my 2013 Ford Fusion for a 4-wheel alignment service today and I immediately noticed a big difference while driving after they had performed the service. They were fast and charged me the exact amount they quoted me for. They also went over the adjustments they made and showed me how far off the initial alignment was. So, I'd recommend this shop 100%. Long story short - I went to discount tires before coming here and felt like I was getting ripped off so the next day I decided to give these gentleman a call since I seen how good their reviews are, I'm so happy I went with my gut. My SUV needed new brake pads and rotors to be replaced. I bought the parts and brought my SUV in. Joel took my SUV right away. Plus, they'll keep record of everything they have done for you and will be honest about upcoming maintenance issues for your car. That way you can budget for any upcoming car issues. Sure you can take your car to a fancy shmancy car dealerships where there are flat screen TVs everywhere, a coffee and drink and snack bar...but you also pay more for these amenities. AND the service you get may not be personalized because these big places have so many cars and people to go through. This spot right here, Pops and Sons, has a modest waiting room, comfy sofa, extra chairs, and a tv. It's not anything fancy schmancy but it works. Just always call if you can to make an appointment . Recently had to get all 4 tires replaced but didn't have the financial means to do so. That and because of the siE is the tires, it was going to cost more. Ben and Cesar looked for tires for me and I was able to put in 2 new tires, come back in a week for the other set. Cesar told me that my check engine had just come on so I could do it now while I'm There or come back later. Chose to just do it then. See? They tell you what's happening and give YOU the choice to get things done. I've seen and experienced at other places where they pretty much do scare tactics so that you can get stuff done right then---nope, no thank you. That's not customer service .
