Alex helped us out, they are super transparent and trustworthy. Gave me all the details to help make the best decision. Highly recommend!

Price they gave me back in May that I wanted done July 31st.
    Naja C.

I requested my valve cover gasket to be replaced as they showed pictures of my front valve cover and camshaft seal leaking oil back in May. I know for sure that there was an oil leak since I can smell oil when the AC is on and pulling fresh air into my cabin. Didn't have the money at the time so I denied servicing that issue. Now it's July and I scheduled and confirmed for them to replace the leaking valve cover and camshaft seal online and over the phone. The guy on the phone said they'll go ahead with the quoted price of $366 (after tax). I accepted the work after dropping off my car. However, 2 hours later the shop called and said my intake manifold gasket needed to be replaced as they would need to remove the intake manifold to get to the valve cover that's by the firewall and that it will be $63 plus labor. This made sense, so I agreed that they should remove it and the guy on the phone said he'll send a link again to approve the work done (the guy's name was Ivan I think, sorry). Before approving the work I immediately saw that the total price jumped from $366 to $800+. I thought the labor was already included with replacing the valve cover gasket! The person who answered back said removing the intake manifold was it's own labor so it's a separate charge. I couldn't ask for them to just do one side OR not remove the intake manifold as it was already removed. To keep this short, the shop gave me a discount at first to lower the price down to $734 and then removed some or all of the labor cost for the intake manifold which brought the price down to $613. Still almost $250 more than what I originally approved for, but I am thankful they were able to lower the price even if it took all 2 months pay for me. Do I feel bad for the technician who worked on my car? Yes, I really do. But if the intake manifold has to be removed and have it's gasket replaced I believe that it should be included in the price I approved first instead of having the approved price an "estimate". Also, I'm pretty sure they didn't install a new camshaft seal like their original recommendation said to replace. They did the work, I smell less oil coming into the cabin when the AC is on or when idling and my windows are open. My Google review still stands true. They did not try to scam me in saying my AC evaporator core needed replacing and heard my symptoms carefully and properly diagnosed my issue unlike 5 other shops I called. My criticism this time is for them to give a proper price from the beginning and not charge more for something that may be procedural (remove intake manifold to reach the rear valve cover gaskets).

After following his directive this shop told me ah, must be the transmission and I don't do transmission work. So, I got on my phone and searched for transmission specialist close to me(in La Mirada) A whole list came out, I check many, read the reviews, and this one came out to check, Full Service Auto Repairs 14747 Artesia Blvd Ste 3D La Mirada, CA 90638 714-357-8369 I called and Francis answered, I explained him the issue, and he says I must inspect the vehicle to give you a diagnosis. Do you need towing service to bring the car. So my vehicle was towed to his location that Wednesday afternoon. On Saturday morning Francis contacted me and asked me, "Who replaced your front axle drive shaft? I had it replaced on September the 3rd. Francis informed, me they install the wrong drive shaft. To make it really short, Francis asked me the information of the repair shop that worked in my vehicle. From there he took over, contacted the repair shop owner, explained what he found and caused damages in my car transmission and directly dealed with the other shop. Fortunately, the other shop that replaced the drive shaft, took full responsibility for the repairs needed (drive shaft replacement and transmission repair). Now we must understand this, here is a shop owner communicating directly with other shop owner, something that you will not get from any other Full Service Auto Repairs shop, all in behave of a client. Francis handled this like only a man of God and a person who love and honor his profession, will have done, with total honesty! I picked my Avalon 2007 today afternoon, after business hours, Francis was waiting for me. He handled me a receipt copy for over $6,600 that include 12 months or 12k miles Parts and Labor (he used original Toyota parts). Asked me to signed and release the vehicle to me. He did not charged me one single penny and released my car to me If you are looking for honest, competent, professional, and well equipped full service shop (and I meant, full services repair shop, this is the one! I was quoted about $3,700. After I declined and asked to have the engine reassembled so I could take the car elsewhere, the quote was reduced to about $2,900. I was told the original estimate included a mistake involving labor and parts. I had also been told the repair would use LUK parts. I repeatedly asked for part numbers but didn't receive them until I decided not to proceed. The invoice I was then given listed a different aftermarket clutch at $900. When I looked up that part, I found online prices of about $600-$700. I also called three other auto shops, which quoted me no more than $2,200 for the same repair. Given the substantial difference in estimates and the difficulty getting clear parts information, I didn't feel comfortable moving forward with AAMCO. I recommend getting an itemized estimate and exact part numbers in writing before authorizing work.
