I live in La Habra and just purchased a very clean 2005 Acura MDX from the original owner. I was looking for an independent place to do a transmission service. This place had a 4.9 rating so I stop by around 8:20am. They open at 7:30am. Service area had one car out of 3 bays. Walked up to the office and I see the steel door still closed. I saw the window with bars open up and he says "What do you need?" Not the response I was expecting from a reputable repair shop with a 4.9 rating. I am skeptical of repair places. I had a vibration in my Prius and could not figure it out. I was not about to go to the dealer. They are ok at maintenance, but very expensive, but to diagnose something, they are horrible. But finding a good mechanic takes a lot of work. I drive by Pro Techs to go to church. I looked up their reviews and they were great, so I decided to give them a try. They diagnosed the problem and gave me the solution, it was a motor mount. He told me there were other motor mounts, but they looked alright. They did not try to sell me all the others. I also had them replace the spark plugs and clean the injectors. Those last two items were about 35% of what one pays at a dealer. I will be taking all my cars there. They know what they are doing and do it well, for reasonable prices. read more

I came here for the first time and Brent was very helpful in fitting in my car for a same day oil change. They were great at managing expectations and timelines and incredibly personable. When I went to pickup my car, I met Joe and he was equally as friendly. These guys seem to have a great culture here and are focused on building relationships with the local community. Took my 04 Tacoma to Brent to have the charcoal canister replaced . Brent replaced the canister in a few hours and that solved a problem I had been experiencing with my truck for a while . It's been too long since my last review. So fast forward to now with an update. I will state that I have continued using Pro Techs since my first review. I am very glad that Pro Techs survived the Covid19 pandemic, a lot of other types of businesses I used to use did NOT survive. Currently, I NO longer have time to do routine maintenance on my cars anymore due to the fact I have to take care of my elderly parents on my own with minimal caregiver assistance (one physically disabled and the other in earlier stages of dementia), and I still work part-time. I have continued taking my and now my parents cars here as any other place is too far away for me to be able take care of my parents. Joe "the owner" is a bit less involved than before but has left a lot more of the day to day to Brent and Andrew who are more than capable. Prices have gone up EVERYWHERE and Pro Techs is NO exception. What I will say is that the "Value" of service is still exceptional. IF you are looking for the cheapest auto repair/service based on strictly money/dollars, this IS NOT the place for you - I am sure other 'shadier' operations can be found without difficulty. HOWEVER, if you are like me and want the piece of mind that once you get your car(s) back from the shop - you don't have to worry IF the job was done right, or IF they might have done something 'else' to your car, this is the place for you. Joe, Brent, Andrew and the whole Pro Techs team stands behind their work, if something doesn't seem right after you get your car back, call them (I have yet to have the need to do this). The fact that Brent, Andrew have been there for quite a while and most of the mechanics have either been there for a while, or even left and come back tells you that this is a good business model. In my own opinion, businesses with Yelp reviews with over 120 reviews usually can be trusted (likely have NOT been written by 'friends/relatives' of the business). The fact that the employees have stuck with the business for such a long time tells you this is a win-win company. Once again, IF you value high Quality work on your car at reasonable/fair prices, this place is for you. Their work is HONEST, and to me one of the last businesses that are like this. While Pro Techs specialize in Scion/Toyota/Honda, they also work on Lexus/Acura and Subaru as well, and others - they are very experienced. IF you aren't sure for your make/model of car, give Pro Techs a call and Brent or Andrew will be just as honest as Joe in letting you know IF they do work on your car. read more

Needed the suspension replaced on my Honda. Brent was helping me out with this. I decided to find all the parts on my own. I called in and Brent helped me find some of the parts I was unsure about. Even recommended me to buy some sway bar links which he said they would install since they were already under there doing the work. Great shop, good pricing, and willing to go the extra step to get customer satisfaction! Going to need a few more things done to the Honda, plan on bringing it back in to this shop!
