I also went in the next week to get a shield for the catalytic converter and have had no issues since. Initial estimate seemed right on the mark; the final cost was a bit higher than desired but the mechanic provided good reasons for the higher cost. They next day they diagnosed the issue and gave me a quote and got the part the next day, by friday all done. They even had a local wash service wash the inside and out. My wife and I were heading south to the Casino to attend a concert, and our Honda 2017 CRV was coming up for maintenance so I took it down to them, Lopez made out the paperwork and started with $100 on the sheet to get the job started, I got a call a couple days later from Lopez and he described what he discovered as a result of always taking the car for a test drive by the mechanic performing the work and he discovered something in the handling of the vehicle so he inspected the vehicle and discovered the Control Arm Fl needed replacement and the Control Arm FR needed replacement and the brake pads as a result of the controls arms needed replacement but fell under the warranty so no charge for that, they changed the motor oil, performed Light Rite Headlight restoration and replaced the windshield wipers as they were showing excessive ware, I authorized the work to be done, Lopez quoted me the price for all the work which I felt was reasonable, he said he would call me as the job progressed, which he did, and then called me to come in and pick up our car, I informed him that our 2003 Trailblazer was coming up on its maintenance and said I still need it, but needed to do some things which required me to hold onto it for a bit. Got all my running around done, then drove the Trail blazer down, and explained this strange vibration I felt when at a traffic signal, I felt the vibration through the steering wheel, so we made out the paperwork and he assigned $100 to get started, he called me two days later and explained the problem. The Trail Blazer is a 2003 and has 205,443 miles on it. The trail Blazer was taken out for a test drive by the mechanic who would be performing the work and he did feel the vibration, upon his return to the shop looked under neath and did a thorough inspection and discovered that the motor mounts were shot, and that the transmission mount also were shop and they needed replacement, the old change would be performed and he also recommended the Light Rite Headlight restoration be performed, he gave me the price for the work and I gave him authorization to proceed. I told Lopez that we were heading out to the Pachanga for the concert and would return Monday afternoon, he called me and told me that the Trail Blazer would be ready for pick up Friday after noon, to which I told him we should already be checked into the Hotel by then, so I would pick up the Trail Blazer Monday morning. Driving the Honda to the Casino she rode smoothly and we had no problems of any kind, which gave us peace of mind on the trip up and for the trip back. After picking up the Trail Blazer I took her for a short drive, jumping on the freeway and the ride was really incredible, no vibration in the steering wheel and really noticed a difference in the handling of the car. Once again Cornerstone performed the work as authorized by me and the outcome was simply OUTSTANDING... I continue to say to anyone needing work done on their vehicles, that Cornerstone is the place to go, they listen to me concerns, and after taking out the vehicle for a test drive write up what needs to be done, then I get a call from Lopez explaining what was discovered, the solution to correcting the problem and then letting me know the cost involved... So I state the obvious, Thanks Phil for the professional manner in which your employees conduct themselves, and for always keeping me appraised as to what is needed, and for calling me to let me know how things are going, and when to come by and pick up the car. One thing I really like, my wife and I take both of our vehicles there, so that when they perform work it is in their computer, so that on the Trailblazer their computer alerted them as to the pads were still under warranty, so I was not charged for their replacement. I left my truck at a shop called Foothill Auto (a very good shop) to have a big job done. The shop was bogged down with a ton of work and to hold the timeline they were shooting for, they subbed it to a neighboring shop called Cornerstone Auto Solutions. After a conversation with Phil Nakhla the owner, I agreed to allow the shop to do the 4x4 conversion work to my truck, but I never received anything from them (paperwork) saying that they had my truck, what it was there for and what it was going to cost. I called twice to speak to Phil and was handed off to someone named Lopez who kept telling me Phil was busy and would call soon. 10 days later however, they (Lopez again) demanded $2500 before they would get started, still no paperwork. I sent the money to them (after questioning the demand for money) and asked for some paperwork, then was told thats not how they do things. Two days later when I finally spoke to Phil again and I pressed for something in writing, Phil told me he was quitting the job and giving me a refund because he didn't like my attitude. I got my money back thank god! I would steer clear of this place unless you want have arguments with the guy. Not an ethical way to do business in my opinion. I'm happy to say that Foothill Auto is going to make room for me and get it done. They felt badly that I was treated that way as I've been a loyal customer for years Foothill Auto is a better place to go. They're integrity is solid! read more

They really make you feel like family and go the extra mile to do things that may seem small but to a mom of 7 kids and often to tired to wash my car, I was in tears when I showed up to pick up my van and find it looking like a new car. Took my car to get the fan pulley fixed, Tried to Charge me 550$ for a part that cost no more then 200$ at auto zone. Claimed the lifetime warranty and other things was the Reason, When autozone Has a Lifetime warranty also for cheaper. I towed my Car there So I guess they figured I would settle for it and bite the Bait. But i didn't Took it To Good Auto Repair and the boss Hoss was trust Worthy and Said 1,100 was way to much for this job. I ended up paying total 450 for the pulley, belts and Labor. My wife has used this place several times in the past for service on her 2009 Toyota Camry, and I finally took my 2012 Toyota Tacoma in a few weeks ago for the first time to get an oil change. I spoke with Mark on the phone and he was very pleasant and helped me schedule an appointment. Upon arrival, I met and spoke with Phil (the owner) who was also very nice and personable. Phil is a devout Christian, and I have full confidence in his team's competence, dignity, and customer service. Because it was my first time bringing my truck into Cornerstone, Phil recommended their $70 inspection to give me a baseline assessment of the current state of my truck. Everything went smoothly, and I now have the peace of mind that there are no looming problems that I need to address at this time. Update after owner Phil saw my review and reached out. He and his worker both checked the transmission fluid and both still believe it "looked" like it needed service but qualified that by saying you can't really tell with CVT transmissions, because there isn't an easy/quick way to get a thorough sample. When I asked if he thought the previous mechanic did a poor job 2 months ago and do I need to follow up with them, he said no, and that he knows that mechanic to be reputable (we would have gone back for our current issues, but they are closed this week). After chatting with the mechanic we ultimately went with for our repairs, he shared that 2015 Civic CVT transmissions use HCF-2 fluid which is a brownish/yellow/grey color unlike the typical bright red ATF. He said quick visual inspection isn't always enough because of the color of the clean fluid, and you really need to consider how many miles since it was last done. SO, I still don't feel great about how Cornerstone initially approached the transmission fluid. Knowing what I know now, I'd expect to hear, "hey, your transmission fluid looks like it may need replacing. It's hard to tell visually with this type of transmission/fluid. Do you recall when you last had it replaced?" All the same, I don't think they're sheisters at all. Even after I shared my price concerns with one of my friends who uses/recommends them, she stood by her recommendation (her husband works with equipment and does all the less complicated repairs on their cars, so they are not naive). I still stand by my review. Three stars for high prices. If you want to pay dealer prices for good service, they seem like a good option. If you don't, go somewhere else. There are lots of other reputable, more affordable options within a mile or so. Cheers to a free market! read more

Hands down, these guys are great. You get off the phone with them and wonder if you really just spoke to a mechanic. It's unreal. I mean, Levi has got to be one of the most articulate, polite and personable mechanics I've ever come across. Not like I'm in and out of shops all day long but I've been through enough vehicle repairs to know that these guys are a diamond in the rough. My first time calling in for something, I must've interrogated Levi for like 20 minutes on what could be wrong with my car and why, and how does he know? Is he sure? What does he think about this option and how does this thing work? I was a like a little kid tugging on the hem of his shirt to answer my every question. And you know what? He did. Thoroughly and clearly and in a language I understood. And this was over the phone as well! It started all over again when I went in the shop. Answered every question with patience. This is cool for a woman who knows not that much about engines and pulleys and all that crap, to be able to follow along and have someone walk me through the steps without rushing me or pushing an up-sell. And not just Levi. I've spoken to Phil as well and was equally impressed with his professionalism. Truly impressive customer service. They open early and close late, which makes it convenient to pick up and drop off. If you're after hours, and can't make it in time, they have a handy drop box where you can securely leave your key and park your car in the lot for them to start on in the morning. Each time I've taken my vehicle in, they check back with me promptly on a diagnosis. I've never had to hound or follow up with them for answers. Considering my previous experiences, I feel like their pricing is fair. Maybe a little on the higher end. It's like Nordstrom Rack. You get real nice quality for cheaper than going to a BMW dealership, but should still expect spend a few pennies. Maybe the best part of all was the Christmas card I received this past December. A couple weeks later they came back to proceed with the list of recommended maintenance They dropped off Mom's vehicle with the promise of getting it back in a couple of days and were pleasantly surprised when it was completed the same day. Very nice guys. It isn't easy finding an honest mechanic. I noticed some customers complaining about the prices. It may be true that their pricing is a little higher than others, I don't know. But, would you rather have great work done by honest professionals or maybe have unnecessary , dishonest work done by someone who's a little cheaper and less skilled? For example, I was told by a tire place in la Mirada 3 years ago, that I needed new shocks. They said they were leaking. Phil took a look and said, nah, they are fine. 3 years later, no problems. By the way, I have an old Honda mini van and cornerstone is tons cheaper than the Honda dealer!!! They stand behind their work. My family is blessed to have a great mechanic!! read more

So like many people, my car is my baby and I am very careful as to who I let work on it and mostly prefer to do routine maintenance myself. But sometimes there comes a time where the work is either too complex for a shady tree mechanic or I just don't have the time. I found Cornerstone on Yelp after kind of losing trust in my previous mechanic. The first thing that caught my eye is that they are open early which is awesome for someone who really must get to work and can't waste their morning waiting for a place to open. When I dropped off my vehicle I spoke with Levi. He was incredibly helpful and even offered to give me a ride back home. He listened intently to my vehicles issues and gave me a rundown of what would be done. I must mention that he was there at 7am on sharp. His customer service was above and beyond. Other businesses should take note because Cornerstone realizes how to do this perfectly. From then on, I was provided regular updates over the phone by Eliot. Even more, they worked with me to potentially expedite the process so they could limit the time I was without the vehicle. I politely declined as I was in no rush to get my vehicle back and they had already gone above and beyond. They finished the work right when they said they would, used original Ford parts, and were clear and direct throughout the process. Even more so, they were honest about what repairs needed to be done and about what did not need to be done. When it comes to prices, I believe they are on the mid to higher side. That being said, I am a firm believer that "you get what you pay for." That and you absolutely cannot put a price on peace of mind and great service. The quality of work and customer service were well worth the cost of the repair.
