So like many people, my car is my baby and I am very careful as to who I let work on it and mostly prefer to do routine maintenance myself. But sometimes there comes a time where the work is either too complex for a shady tree mechanic or I just don't have the time. I found Cornerstone on Yelp after kind of losing trust in my previous mechanic. The first thing that caught my eye is that they are open early which is awesome for someone who really must get to work and can't waste their morning waiting for a place to open. When I dropped off my vehicle I spoke with Levi. He was incredibly helpful and even offered to give me a ride back home. He listened intently to my vehicles issues and gave me a rundown of what would be done. I must mention that he was there at 7am on sharp. His customer service was above and beyond. Other businesses should take note because Cornerstone realizes how to do this perfectly. From then on, I was provided regular updates over the phone by Eliot. Even more, they worked with me to potentially expedite the process so they could limit the time I was without the vehicle. I politely declined as I was in no rush to get my vehicle back and they had already gone above and beyond. They finished the work right when they said they would, used original Ford parts, and were clear and direct throughout the process. Even more so, they were honest about what repairs needed to be done and about what did not need to be done. When it comes to prices, I believe they are on the mid to higher side. That being said, I am a firm believer that "you get what you pay for." That and you absolutely cannot put a price on peace of mind and great service. The quality of work and customer service were well worth the cost of the repair. I will definitely be returning for my future automotive maintenance needs and I am very glad I have found someone trustworthy within my neighborhood. read more

I have been to Cornerstone a couple of times in my college years. The people at Cornerstone are all sweet people. They are welcoming, efficient, and easy to work with. What's frustrating is the price they charge for just looking at the car. The first time they look at your car, they will wave the diagnostic fee... but my car has many issues and even in cases when I know exactly what's wrong with the car, they proceed to charge I think it was $70? $75 dollars just in case... Another frustrating thing was that they changed my license plate frame, to their "Cornerstone Frame" without my consent. Overall, they still did a good job and fixed my car each time it needed fixing, but I wouldn't recommend going to them if your car has as many issues as mine. read more

There's a sign outside the shop that says "Auto Repair with Integrity" and they really live up to that. I walked into the office and met Phil and Elliott, who were personable, professional, and extremely helpful when I told them that I suspected my car had a leaking head gasket ( = $$$). They didn't jump to the conclusion that it was, but instead said that they'd take a look and that it could possibly be something else less costly to fix. It turned out to be the head gasket, and they diagnosed other maintenance problems as well, but they never once pressured me to paying to fix those, and never made it sound like my car was in dire need of whatever. The shop was in constant communication with me, always letting me know the status of my car and made sure I didn't drive off without the problem being completely fixed. They also gave me a rundown of what was done to the car with prices, and explained any question I had about parts and service. I really appreciate their honesty and urgency to get my car to me as soon as possible, even though they knew I wasn't in any rush to get it back. I first started going here near the beginning of the the year after finding their place on yelp. There was a strong rattling noise in the car and I figured some part of the engine had broken so I brought it to them. They spent 30 minutes looking at the car, looking for the problem. They found a flashlight that my wife hid in the bottom of the glovebox and let me know that it wasn't my car. What is most amazing about that is they didn't charge me at all, though they spent some time looking at it. I've been there about four times this year and each time they take care of my car quickly and give me a full update on repairs. They even referred me to another place for tires because if they did it then they would have to charge a bit more. They truly work at their business to honor God, and not their wallets, and that is what impresses me most. read more

But I figured I'd add some good will to the world and tell some other people about this awesome Auto shop in La Habra. I found them through a friend of a friend, and I've been so happy that I tried them out. My first time their, I used a free-oil change business card that a friend of mine gave me. And they honored it completely, changed my oil, and told me my car was in good shape. They even completed a 20 or 30 point evaluation of the car to let me know what I should keep an eye on for the future. They really are great, and have saved my bacon a number of times! Highly recommend! We just moved to California, our 7th city in 9 years. We've been to lots of different mechanics needless to say. Cornerstone is hands down one of the best mechanics we've been to. Brought my car in because the Buick dealership wanted 3K to fix an issue. Cornerstone would have fixed it for less than 1K. However, I didn't have to have them fix it. Why? Because they looked up warranties for GMC and found out that my issue was covered under a special warranty. Even though the dealership was telling me it wasn't. Levi, who works at Cornerstone, gave me a GMC number to call. I ended up taking it to a different dealership where it was fixed under warranty. How awesome is that? Levi went above and beyond. Not many people or places will do that. They genuinely cares about me and my car needs and offered me the best solution, even though they weren't the ones fixing it. I very much appreciate them. I did however have a general inspection at Cornerstone ($55, or free if you put their license plate holder on), and ended up getting a few maintenance issues done there. Again, a very good rate. While they were working on my car they offered me free shuttles (Uber) and the communication with them was very professional and quick. I highly recommend this place if you need repairs or maintenance work. Definitely will be bringing my car and other vehicles back here. Great place! I promise you won't be disappointed! Took my new(er) minivan in for it's 2nd oil change and 10k tire rotation. Dealer wanted $60 for the oil change and $25 for the rotation. They did both for much less than just the dealer's oil change price. Phil took it for a drive first to assess if the car had any other issues before getting to work. Phil & Elliott were both very friendly and seemed very trustworthy. I didn't feel defensive when I met them as I usually do whenever I take my car in for any type of service. Phil explained things, showing me the oil after he changed it to help me understand what he was talking about and gave me other tips without being pushy or suggesting unnecessary services. I also appreciated their clean shop, I could walk through it to the office, which was also clean, and didn't get any oil on my shoes to track back into the car. They also used a floor mat which I always appreciate. They were quick and courteous and have a long term outlook so I know they will take care of us each time we come in, not try to make the most money off you the first time you come in. read more

Horrible service. Expect your car to be there for 2 weeks or more. They give you the run-around of when your car is supposed to be ready. Most of the time, because I don't completely 'understand' my car, I get blank looks and/or eye rolls from the mechanics or the people behind the desk as I seek to explain what's wrong with my car or try to understand the jargon they're throwing at me. Wow! I was referred here by a good friend and was impressed by the level of expertise and professionalism. They went above and beyond to make sure I had transportation while they worked on my Jeep. Phil was able to diagnose a bearing problem nobody else was able to and I didn't even go in for that!!! Elliot in the office gave me a great price and worked with me to spend the money I had budgeted accordingly to the areas that were most important. The quality of work was awesome as well! I hate it when shops cut corners to save a couple of bucks and look like the good guy, but you have to go back in a few months because they didn't go out of their way to make sure everything is in good working order. Didn't get that from Cornerstone. Most of all, its never fun when shops call to tell you they found more problems and its going to cost more money. Well it happened, but they physically showed me the busted parts that had obviously been been leaking and corroded for some time - other shops I've been to didn't offer to do that. On top of it all, they hustled to get the work done in minimal time so I could have my car for the weekend. Super impressed! My 21 year old granddaughter took her 2002 Honda Accord (first car) for a thoroughly diagnosis. The price given was $1,600 with warranty. She had to work a month to save the money to pay for the repairs. She trusted them as she was referred by her mentor because this shop owner is Christian. Well, less than a month later the car showed the same issues as before. ( not starting sometimes and the maint light was on. They asked for another $500 to find the problem ?? So sad that they won't honor the warranty. It seem that repairs cost more than the actual price. I wont recommend this shop it all! read more

I don't like giving bad reviews. However my experience at this auto shop was not a good one. I had my camry dropped off early on Wed morning to have the oxygen sensors changed out so we could get it smogged. They called on Wednesday late and said they needed to keep it overnight. OK no problem. We hadn't heard by late Thursday so I stopped by. Had to deal with Ross who is a nice guy but feels the need to talk you to death with excuses, and explaining every detail of a car. At one point he told me he couldn't tell me what was wrong or an estimate of the repairs, "We don't work that way". What? Bottom line was, the work had not been done, they didn't even order the parts needed and had racked up a charge of $400 for diagnostic testing. Are you kidding me. I'm shelling out $400 and you still haven't started working on the car. Oh hell no. Then mentioned one part would be $600 without labor. Have had them changed before for about $450. After repeating to him about 25 times to drop my car and settle the ridiculous bill, he finally did. Then had the audacity to tell me I was mean. We were hoping to make this a permanent place to get our vehicles fixed but after that, Ummmmm No No No. You can place all the bibles you want on the counter for free but unless you read the part that says "thou shalt not steal", they aren't doing any good. I just want to let you all know that Elliot was awesome today! Honest and sincere person. I found his shop on Yelp and chose this shop because of the ratings. I actually went in for an inspection of a car I was looking to buy (seller did not show). I asked for coolant to my car because I had driven a long distance and didn't have coolant in my trunk and he gladly filled it up. I was so thankful!
