Cornerstone Auto are one of the few honest mechanics in the business. They don't try to sell anything you don't need and they don't overcharge either. read more

This place is outstanding. I came in last week for squeaky brakes and a new battery. Phillip is the kindest and most honest individual you'll ever meet. (The other guys who work in the shop are great too, just can't remember their names) He will be completely honest with you and tell you what needs to be done immediately what doesn't and what can wait. Very reasonably priced. It's very hard to find auto shops that respect women but I felt very respected there and they treated me like family. I will definitely be taking my car here for all my service needs from now on. read more

Been coming here for years. Phil does not know that I'm writing this review and I have not received any compensation for writing it. I trust him 1000% and you can too. The staff is great. Very nice guys. It isn't easy finding an honest mechanic. I noticed some customers complaining about the prices. It may be true that their pricing is a little higher than others, I don't know. But, would you rather have great work done by honest professionals or maybe have unnecessary , dishonest work done by someone who's a little cheaper and less skilled? For example, I was told by a tire place in la Mirada 3 years ago, that I needed new shocks. They said they were leaking. Phil took a look and said, nah, they are fine. 3 years later, no problems. By the way, I have an old Honda mini van and cornerstone is tons cheaper than the Honda dealer!!! They stand behind their work. My family is blessed to have a great mechanic!! read more

So like many people, my car is my baby and I am very careful as to who I let work on it and mostly prefer to do routine maintenance myself. But sometimes there comes a time where the work is either too complex for a shady tree mechanic or I just don't have the time. I found Cornerstone on Yelp after kind of losing trust in my previous mechanic. The first thing that caught my eye is that they are open early which is awesome for someone who really must get to work and can't waste their morning waiting for a place to open. When I dropped off my vehicle I spoke with Levi. He was incredibly helpful and even offered to give me a ride back home. He listened intently to my vehicles issues and gave me a rundown of what would be done. I must mention that he was there at 7am on sharp. His customer service was above and beyond. Other businesses should take note because Cornerstone realizes how to do this perfectly. From then on, I was provided regular updates over the phone by Eliot. Even more, they worked with me to potentially expedite the process so they could limit the time I was without the vehicle. I politely declined as I was in no rush to get my vehicle back and they had already gone above and beyond. They finished the work right when they said they would, used original Ford parts, and were clear and direct throughout the process. Even more so, they were honest about what repairs needed to be done and about what did not need to be done. When it comes to prices, I believe they are on the mid to higher side. That being said, I am a firm believer that "you get what you pay for." That and you absolutely cannot put a price on peace of mind and great service. The quality of work and customer service were well worth the cost of the repair. I will definitely be returning for my future automotive maintenance needs and I am very glad I have found someone trustworthy within my neighborhood. read more

Cornertstone is amazing! they communicated everything with me as well as showed me on my car which no one ever does. They made sure i understood everything going on that they found and broke down all the prices as well as let me know which ones were more serious then others that could wait. They called me as soon as they had more information on anything just to keep me int he loop which i really appreciated. I will defiantly be coming back for all my car needs moving forward. Thank you so much!! read more

Phillip and his crew are the kindest and most polite group of people that I've ever dealt with! I would trust them with any of my vehicles, they do a complete safety inspection on every vehicle. While I was in for service, they found that my tires were completely worn out. I had not noticed how much they were worn, however, they showed me and I was shocked. There was no pressure from them and i appreciate their professionalism. I will be back in a week to have them replaced. Great shop to go to! read more

Wouldn't take my truck anywhere else. Had a couple issues that were above my knowledge and took my truck here. I was helped by a tech named Ross. Super honest and trustworthy. Gave me updates and serviced the car fast. 10/10 recommended auto shop. read more

Here's the deal: I don't trust mechanics. They don't do what they say. They look for ways to over-charge you. But NOT Phil and his team at Cornerstone. You can trust Phil! 1. He cares, not just about your car, but about You. 2. He gives you prices Before he does the work. 3. He stands by the work. Cornerstone is a bright light in a weary world. THANK YOU. If I could give all the stars in the world, believe me, I would!!! I have found my auto-spot for life! I am a La Habra native, and like other La Habra natives, I have a great urge to SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS. Cornerstone in particular went above and beyond all of my expectations. Phillip and Elliot are most definitely the most honest and kind techs I have ever had the chance of meeting. Not once was there any forced conversation or any misleading on any suggestions for what my truck is going to need in the future to keep it in tip-top shape. Their prices are MORE THAN REASONABLE, and if you give them a chance, they will prove to you that they will treat you right. I love more than anything that you can truly feel that this shop is a family. This shop is so full of goodness and honesty! They treated me like family, and I appreciate that more than anything! read more

I brought in my 99 Maxima two weeks ago because it was sputtering and smoking out the tail pipe. Cornerstone was able to diagnose the problem and repair it in a timely manner. They were in constant contact with me during the repair process and let me know what needed to be done. They didn't try to sell me extra repair items and the final cost was less than the original estimate! My car has been running great since. Friendly, reliable, and honest service. read more

There's a sign outside the shop that says "Auto Repair with Integrity" and they really live up to that. I walked into the office and met Phil and Elliott, who were personable, professional, and extremely helpful when I told them that I suspected my car had a leaking head gasket ( = $$$). They didn't jump to the conclusion that it was, but instead said that they'd take a look and that it could possibly be something else less costly to fix. It turned out to be the head gasket, and they diagnosed other maintenance problems as well, but they never once pressured me to paying to fix those, and never made it sound like my car was in dire need of whatever. The shop was in constant communication with me, always letting me know the status of my car and made sure I didn't drive off without the problem being completely fixed. They also gave me a rundown of what was done to the car with prices, and explained any question I had about parts and service. I really appreciate their honesty and urgency to get my car to me as soon as possible, even though they knew I wasn't in any rush to get it back. And yeah, like Richard K. said, Phil has a GEO with 300k miles! A GEO!! read more

I first started going here near the beginning of the the year after finding their place on yelp. There was a strong rattling noise in the car and I figured some part of the engine had broken so I brought it to them. They spent 30 minutes looking at the car, looking for the problem. They found a flashlight that my wife hid in the bottom of the glovebox and let me know that it wasn't my car. What is most amazing about that is they didn't charge me at all, though they spent some time looking at it. I've been there about four times this year and each time they take care of my car quickly and give me a full update on repairs. They even referred me to another place for tires because if they did it then they would have to charge a bit more. They truly work at their business to honor God, and not their wallets, and that is what impresses me most. read more

These guys are AMAZING!!! Amazingly helpful, Amazingly honest, Amazingly skilled, and more! Seriously, I'm usually the guy who only writes reviews on yelp if someone pissed me off or screwed me over. But I figured I'd add some good will to the world and tell some other people about this awesome Auto shop in La Habra. I found them through a friend of a friend, and I've been so happy that I tried them out. My first time their, I used a free-oil change business card that a friend of mine gave me. And they honored it completely, changed my oil, and told me my car was in good shape. They even completed a 20 or 30 point evaluation of the car to let me know what I should keep an eye on for the future. They really are great, and have saved my bacon a number of times! I recommend their services, they shoot straight, and tell you like it is event if you have a old junker like my car. read more

I have been to Cornerstone a couple of times in my college years. The people at Cornerstone are all sweet people. They are welcoming, efficient, and easy to work with. What's frustrating is the price they charge for just looking at the car. The first time they look at your car, they will wave the diagnostic fee... but my car has many issues and even in cases when I know exactly what's wrong with the car, they proceed to charge I think it was $70? $75 dollars just in case... Another frustrating thing was that they changed my license plate frame, to their "Cornerstone Frame" without my consent. Overall, they still did a good job and fixed my car each time it needed fixing, but I wouldn't recommend going to them if your car has as many issues as mine. read more

Honest and trustworthy. We've been taking our cars here for over a year now. I don't feel like I'm being cheated or lied to when it comes to having my car serviced here. Their prices are fair and the service is EXCELLENT. Elliott is very good about keeping me informed on the status of my car through out the day. Phil is also very friendly and I can tell he is a hard worker who knows what he is doing. I appreciate how Phil and Elliott will alert me to some upcoming maintenance to be aware of. "It doesn't need to be done now but probably at your next visit...." Nothing is a big surprise. It shows how thorough they are. Support your local small business owner and have your car serviced here. read more

Took my new(er) minivan in for it's 2nd oil change and 10k tire rotation. Dealer wanted $60 for the oil change and $25 for the rotation. They did both for much less than just the dealer's oil change price. Phil took it for a drive first to assess if the car had any other issues before getting to work. Phil & Elliott were both very friendly and seemed very trustworthy. I didn't feel defensive when I met them as I usually do whenever I take my car in for any type of service. Phil explained things, showing me the oil after he changed it to help me understand what he was talking about and gave me other tips without being pushy or suggesting unnecessary services. I also appreciated their clean shop, I could walk through it to the office, which was also clean, and didn't get any oil on my shoes to track back into the car. They also used a floor mat which I always appreciate. They were quick and courteous and have a long term outlook so I know they will take care of us each time we come in, not try to make the most money off you the first time you come in. read more

I often see the Cornerstone truck around town in La Mirada and decided to give them a try when I needed some work. I wanted a shop I could trust. From my first call to the repair of my car a day later, everything was great. Elliot was super friendly and knowledgeable. He explained exactly what was wrong and what would be repaired and even gave me a complimentary oil change. I will refer all my local friends and family and plan to go back for my future auto needs! read more

Ross and Caleb are great to work with and I'm blessed they made time for me even though they were almost closed. Please give this place your business! read more

I've been to a lot of auto repair places. Most of the time, because I don't completely 'understand' my car, I get blank looks and/or eye rolls from the mechanics or the people behind the desk as I seek to explain what's wrong with my car or try to understand the jargon they're throwing at me. Cornerstone, however, has been a refreshing change. My car has been in three times for minor repairs and oil changes. I really appreciate the way they are thorough and recommend preventative maintenance, not just fixing what is broken. They are also super friendly and have very quick service. What more could you want? read more

Felt like my car was in honest hands! I was unsure of the work that needed to get done on my car and they explained everything to me in an easy to grasp kind of way. They told me all that needed to get fixed and didn't try to sell extra work. Trustworthy mechanics for sure! read more

Phil is great came in with what I thought was a major problem and it ended up be a battery issue. If I would have gone to the dealer it would have been 2-3x the cost for parts and labor. These are seriously the best guys to look at your car. Amazing service for sure, but more than anything they make you feel like a normal person. No shame of not knowing what's wrong with your car, they are willing to take the time to explain anything you want to know and not make you feel dumb! I drive 45 minutes to come see these guys... It's worth it! I dread the day I move and have to find another mechanic that comes close to these guys. read more

Highly recommend! We just moved to California, our 7th city in 9 years. We've been to lots of different mechanics needless to say. Cornerstone is hands down one of the best mechanics we've been to. Brought my car in because the Buick dealership wanted 3K to fix an issue. Cornerstone would have fixed it for less than 1K. However, I didn't have to have them fix it. Why? Because they looked up warranties for GMC and found out that my issue was covered under a special warranty. Even though the dealership was telling me it wasn't. Levi, who works at Cornerstone, gave me a GMC number to call. I ended up taking it to a different dealership where it was fixed under warranty. How awesome is that? Levi went above and beyond. Not many people or places will do that. They genuinely cares about me and my car needs and offered me the best solution, even though they weren't the ones fixing it. I very much appreciate them. I did however have a general inspection at Cornerstone ($55, or free if you put their license plate holder on), and ended up getting a few maintenance issues done there. Again, a very good rate. While they were working on my car they offered me free shuttles (Uber) and the communication with them was very professional and quick. I highly recommend this place if you need repairs or maintenance work. Definitely will be bringing my car and other vehicles back here. Great place! I promise you won't be disappointed! Thank you Cornerstone! read more

Wow! I was referred here by a good friend and was impressed by the level of expertise and professionalism. They went above and beyond to make sure I had transportation while they worked on my Jeep. Phil was able to diagnose a bearing problem nobody else was able to and I didn't even go in for that!!! Elliot in the office gave me a great price and worked with me to spend the money I had budgeted accordingly to the areas that were most important. The quality of work was awesome as well! I hate it when shops cut corners to save a couple of bucks and look like the good guy, but you have to go back in a few months because they didn't go out of their way to make sure everything is in good working order. Didn't get that from Cornerstone. Most of all, its never fun when shops call to tell you they found more problems and its going to cost more money. Well it happened, but they physically showed me the busted parts that had obviously been been leaking and corroded for some time - other shops I've been to didn't offer to do that. On top of it all, they hustled to get the work done in minimal time so I could have my car for the weekend. Super impressed! Overall I'm extremely happy to have found a new and trustworthy mechanic for all my automotive needs. THANKS GUYS!!! read more

Horrible service. Expect your car to be there for 2 weeks or more. They give you the run-around of when your car is supposed to be ready. They don't call you to update you when they say they will call, instead you have to be chasing after them. Never again! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

My 21 year old granddaughter took her 2002 Honda Accord (first car) for a thoroughly diagnosis. The price given was $1,600 with warranty. She had to work a month to save the money to pay for the repairs. She trusted them as she was referred by her mentor because this shop owner is Christian. Well, less than a month later the car showed the same issues as before. ( not starting sometimes and the maint light was on. They asked for another $500 to find the problem ?? So sad that they won't honor the warranty. It seem that repairs cost more than the actual price. I wont recommend this shop it all! read more

I don't like giving bad reviews. However my experience at this auto shop was not a good one. I had my camry dropped off early on Wed morning to have the oxygen sensors changed out so we could get it smogged. They called on Wednesday late and said they needed to keep it overnight. OK no problem. We hadn't heard by late Thursday so I stopped by. Had to deal with Ross who is a nice guy but feels the need to talk you to death with excuses, and explaining every detail of a car. At one point he told me he couldn't tell me what was wrong or an estimate of the repairs, "We don't work that way". What? Bottom line was, the work had not been done, they didn't even order the parts needed and had racked up a charge of $400 for diagnostic testing. Are you kidding me. I'm shelling out $400 and you still haven't started working on the car. Oh hell no. Then mentioned one part would be $600 without labor. Have had them changed before for about $450. After repeating to him about 25 times to drop my car and settle the ridiculous bill, he finally did. Then had the audacity to tell me I was mean. We were hoping to make this a permanent place to get our vehicles fixed but after that, Ummmmm No No No. You can place all the bibles you want on the counter for free but unless you read the part that says "thou shalt not steal", they aren't doing any good. My search for a good reasonable mechanic continues........ read more

I just want to let you all know that Elliot was awesome today! Honest and sincere person. I found his shop on Yelp and chose this shop because of the ratings. I actually went in for an inspection of a car I was looking to buy (seller did not show). I asked for coolant to my car because I had driven a long distance and didn't have coolant in my trunk and he gladly filled it up. I was so thankful! In addition, he then started looking at my engine and started to point out some important issues that are wrong with my truck. I really appreciate that Elliot took the time to talk to me and to look at my truck. I recommend anyone who is looking for a mechanic, to head on over to see Elliot. read more

I have been taking my cars to Phil for about ten years. I have driven 30 to 50 minutes out of the way to have him do all my major auto work because I know he will give me an honest and fair assessment of what my car needs and do quality and timely work. I never have to be worried about being ripped off or getting shoddy work which is why I have always made the drive. Phil used work in a place in Orange, but just opened his own shop in La Hambra. I first heard of Cornerstone when Philip was out handing free waters to the players and parents of the LMSA on a hot, sunny day. Most small businesses don't really get involved with the community. So I decided to give him a shot, and this is definitely a place where I feel comfortable bringing my car. I've been here twice, and both times they have done a great job.
