I have been taking my cars to Brea Auto Repair for approx. 12 years; including a 2006 Bentley Continental GT W12 Mulliner Edition and a 2006 Mercedes CLK350 (convertible). These older vehicles have required more maintenance/service as they've aged over the years. Bentley work has included starter motor replacement, twin turbo replacement (both), radiator, and the required and scheduled oil-filter maintenance. Spark plugs, etc on the longer intervals have been performed as per manual instructions. Likewise, the CLK350 has been maintained and serviced meticulously over the years as scheduled. Not only are the vehicle service visits far lower costs than from their respective dealers, but lower overall then competing qualified auto mechanic shops---- but the trust I have with the mechanics at Brea Auto Repair is not equal, as they are more than qualified to service these cars. I rarely rate any business a 5/5 but this is the one exception I will make. I highly recommend this vehicle repair facility to meet and exceed anyone's expectations. read more

Never go anywhere else but here to get work done or a second opinion. My family has gone here for years but I never have. The dealer told me my truck needed 8.8k in repairs to fix a "time cover leak and ball joint replacements" on a 2016 Tacoma. I took it to brea auto repair for a second opinion and learned the dealerships are full of scumbags. Ruben from brea auto repair lifted my hood, and walked me through why my truck is 100% fine and I have nothing to worry about for another 150k miles. Then we went inside and showed me YouTube videos of exactly what he was referring to, when, why, and how he would fix the timing cover leak when it was time to do so. Brea Auto is the absolute best place ever! Here I found I found experienced and knowledgeable mechanics that have worked on 1965 and older vehicles. Kevin helped identify the safety issues and was patience to explain any questions. His knowledge helped provide more options. Today with the direct help of Brea Auto, I can drive my 1965 Chevy Surburban Carry-All K10, with confidence and safety. Before taking it here, the vehicle would be hard to start, flood easy, unsafe fuel lines/filters. (This was even after having other mechanics help bring it back to life.) Today, the Chevy still runs great! The side steps Doug and Denny made have a clean awesome look. The side steps make it easy to get it and out of the truck. With the help of Kevin, he was able to help identify future problems and help me learn to keep the vehicle maintained without breaking my budget. It is fun to drive now! My Excursion threw a code and started running like a 3 pack a day smoker. I was nearby, and always heard good things about this place, and it was Saturday, so I popped in. They ran the code right away, which said at least one of the plug coils were bad (hazard of driving an Excursion). Too busy to get it done in just a few hours, so I brought it back during the week. They ended up replacing 3 of them, at a cost of almost $600. I will admit, I have not compared this price, but it felt high. Especially since it took several days to fix, which i had to constantly call and badger them about. Would have preferred them to be more proactive in communicating with me. Then I could have accepted the price a bit easier. That said, the car runs great. They didn't try to upsell me things I didn't need, and they are nice people. read more

I can't believe so many people love this place, my grandparents have been long time customers and they get extremely high prices every time also after our vehicles are done being repaired suddenly something will break or go wrong sending the car right back in. They will have our vehicles for 7 days or more and every time i can recall in all the many years our family has loyally used brea auto, there will be another problem right away. This last time we got our truck back and paid over $700 for a side view mirror ($98parts/$80labor), and a control arm to be replaced. I am very unhappy with the quality of work and the high prices. The first day we had the truck back it stalled on us several times for some reason. Last year we needed the fuel pump replaced and it went back 3 times for that they supposdely replaced the pump two different times for over $1000 and the first time it went for the pump it went back the following day because it was stalling and doing the same things as it did before it was "replaced" Doug claimed it had a "defective wire" so it was in the shop for another week to have pump replaced again and to this day it still stalls out from time to time because of the fuel pump....On top of it all after they "fixed" the fuel pump we got it back and the gas gauge is not working properly and when turning left you have to manually turn the blinker off it no longer clicks off after making your turn. I can go on and on with nightmare experiences from Brea Auto and Doug. Every review I've read for this place people had the car they took in back by the end of the day my family has never once had a vehicle in and out like that no matter what it was in for the minimum id say would be 3-4 days its usually over 7 days that they will have our truck or car. I believe some people get the quality they are capable of but my grandparents are longtime loyal customers and no matter the length of time it takes to repair and no matter the price they pay it and believe they are getting a good price because doug told them he'd give a good price. I have gotten quotes and called around and spoke to friends about mechanics they use and everyone I've spoke to quotes me lower than what we paid at brea auto Doug has repeatedly taken advantage of my grandparents for years with multiple vehicles he knows they have the money to pay and he knows they trust him so i have seen this happen first hand on many occasions and it sucks to see this man rip such trusting good people such as my grandparents and i just hope he isn't doing this to other seniors but i am sure he is. Doug sucks and hell rip your grandparents off in a heartbeat. The guy who had an iPad stolen from his car that was left parked on the street unlocked i feel for you and i hope you don't go back to doug, and i also would not doubt if someone from brea auto stole the iPad and by leaving the car unlocked was a good way to cover they're asses on that. BE CAREFUL AND IF YOU THINK THEY ARE GIVING YOU A GOOD PRICE MAKE SURE AND CALL ANOTHER PLACE AND FIND OUT, ALSO ASK FOR YOUR PARTS THEY REPLACE BACK AT THE TIME OF PICK UP SO YOU CAN SEE WITH YOUR OWN EYES THAT THE PART WAS BAD GOOD LUCK! read more

Had my car towed here after it failed to turn over (long time coming). While this would normally be a job I'd tackle first, I was at work and figured I couldn't be without a car. When the car got there, it started fine, but Doug still recommended a starter replacement based on his experience and research. First sign of honesty. I could have done this for parts cost and 30 minutes, but I figured I'd have them do it and not risk getting stuck if it decided not to start again before I could get to it. Not the same anymore! We dealt with Roobik? I believe is his name. Told us what he felt was wrong with the vehicle, despite the vehicle no longer being symptomatic. Quoted us over $800 for a part and labor, we decided to ask another shop to look and they explained to us what had caused the temporary issue and ended up not needing to be worked on. Also quoted $300 less than Brea Auto if he was to do the work which he recommended not doing. Found my new mechanic. Place is not the same without Doug. Roobik even offered to buy the vehicle as he knew of a buyer out of the blue. Really odd and Shady! They are losing a long time customer. Just avoid. read more
