This place is the fairy godmother to many young women who are preparing for formals proms or even weddings. I honestly don't know if there is a young lady in the north Texas area that has not shopped here or at least dreamed of shopping here for their big day. It is a formal dress shop on steroids. The staff is always very helpful and explains everything you need to know about the sizing and styles and the setup of their store. They will walk you through the process and be with you every moment of the way to discuss 15 and other customizations that they can make to your selections. They also have a wide variety of accessories to go with almost any of their gowns. We brought my niece's here 4 there are proms / Formals which will now obviously be canceled. The whole covid-19 saying is really affecting a lot of people's lives and taking some of their big days and turning them up in a way they did not necessarily dream of. Even if they don't have the event to wear it for right now they have the perfect attire for a special event in the future! read more

This was one of my first places to go and try on wedding gowns. I called ahead and asked if I needed to make an appointment and was told it was not necessary and I can just walk in whenever I would like. The person who answered my call was super helpful and nice! I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member and shown to the bridal area. I was asked to fill out a shirt questionnaire. She then handed me 5 blue clothespins. She escorted me to the area with my size and was told to put a clothespin on the hanger and someone will help me once I've chosen the 5 dresses I'd like to start with. It was a little busy that day but I was still treated very kindly and Isabella was so helpful and patient with me! The plus size selection has a decent variety. Much more than I expected them to have! I was able to try on several different dresses that actually zipped up! Buying a wedding gown is stressful enough without actually being able to see how the gown looks on you. I like how this is a one stop shop! Wedding gowns and bridesmaid gowns are all in one place! There was no seating in the dressing room which would have been ok if she had someone actually helping her properly. Was told by the helper that she wouldn't bring her anymore dresses because she was just confusing herself. There was no confusion, she is just small and didn't fit in everything. Also the dresses were not in great shape from being tried on so often. They were missing clasps and hooks and some were frayed. Staff has been rude the last two times we have been there. I have been waiting and counting down the hours to pick up my bridal gown to be able to write this review out of fear of losing another dress. Yes, you read that clearly another dress. And not just any dress, my bridal gown. If it was possible to give negative stars, I would. Terry Costa, is ran by a woman named Tina Lloyd, who is the owner of the establishment. Tina is the most coldhearted unethical, delusional, and narcissistic business women I have ever met. In March, I ordered two bridal gowns. I ordered a ceremony ballgown and reception mermaid dress. As of last week, someone claimed to be me on a voicemail recording left a false number and scheduled a time with Tina to pick up my dress. Tina then proceeded to release my dress to someone who claimed to be my mother, even with a different signature, different phone number, different name from everything on our contract. To make the situation worst Tina was very hostile and borderline forced me to sign an affidavit, stating I wouldn't sue her for the loss of my other down, which was valued at almost $2000 in exchange for my ball gown dress she still had which only had a $500 balance. I am writing this in hopes you don't trust this establishment for something as special as your wedding day, prom, or any other significant event. Not only did I come out losing a bridal gown I now have this traumatic event related to what is supposed to be the best day of my life. All Tina had to say in defense was she chooses to trust people. Luckily I caught the problem early or my ball gown would have been lost as well. At the end of the day, there were multiple red flags including the wrong name, signature, phone number, and no matching ID to contract. When I explained all of these things to Tina in attempt to reach common ground or come to a solution, she stated she owns a dress store. she is not a detective. Which is true, I guess that also implies she lacks common sense. Now I am in the process of suing for breach of contract, and the cherry on top of it all is Tina declined to honor the 15% off I had already promised my bridesmaids. Terry Costa has many many MANY dresses, across a wide price range, and most times you can buy off-rack, not having to order and wait weeks, so you can take your dress home same day. I tried on one dress that was from a previous season that I'd seen online and wanted to try it on. They had it!!!! I tried it on and it was everything! But I ended up choosing another gorgeous dress for the wedding. Hint for wedding attire shoppers: Try to avoid prom shopping season if at all possible or shop mid week during the morning hours. It's a MAD HOUSE of giddy teenagers trying on everything in the store and stern moms trying to govern them! My daughter and another bride-to-be, shopping for a wedding dresses, were having to share a runway with three or four other girls from another dressing area who were doing a "fashion show", posing and making silly videos in dresses their mothers were very vehement about not buying but "it's okay to completely take over the runway playing dress up." Lesson learned for us! I'd most definitely shop at Terry Costa during ANY OTHER time. We've only had great experiences with the sales staff there. I purchased my daughters prom dress on 3/16. We had to leave the dress at the store because it required some minor repairs. I was told I would receive a call in about 3-4 days when the dress was ready. I did not receive a call from the store prior to them closing due to COVID-19. Once the store reopened I call regarding the dress. The owner, Tina Loyd refused to make an concessions EVEN with such extenuating circumstances. She acknowledged that I never received a phone call. She stated there was a notation that my phone number was not a working number. I've had the same number for over 20 years. She even verified they had the correct number. She then ask why didn't I call about the dress. I advised her I understood if she wanted to charge a penalty (restocking fee). She REFUSED any suggestions. Terry Costa's associate, Gail, body shamed my mother while she was looking for her mother of the groom dress. I tried helping her address this offline, but no one appeared to care. Christina Towell responded to my contact request with a simple "I've shared this with the store manager." The store manager never called my mom even after I followed up with Christina. We had to call the store directly days later to get a hold of her. The store manager, Kaytlin Hucbeka, gave a good speech about how it shouldn't have happened, but who can really say if she meant it or if anything will actually happen. Whether this is appropriately addressed by staff or not is beside the point. What should have been a joyous and memorable occasion is only one of those two things, and for all the wrong reasons. Customer service is so important for me anywhere I go, but I was especially expecting quality while wedding dress shopping for the first time, and Terry Costa did NOT disappoint. Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart for making my experience, from beginning to end, wonderful. When I arrived, I was led to the bridal registration area with my party and began to sign in. The lady at the booth was just as excited as I was to be dress shopping for the first time, and assigned me to consultant Vera right away. Vera was friendly and professional. She asked questions related to what I was looking for in terms of style, material and price point and studied the pictures that I showed her of the dress styles I thought would be flattering. Once those details were extracted, we all set out on a mission to pull dresses. I was so happy to have Vera and my family there, because the large/gorgeous selection at Terry Costa was pretty overwhelming for me. We pulled about 6 dresses in total and I began trying them on one by one in the spacious fitting room with large trifold mirrors. I'm the type of girl who knows what she wants and likes, and can have pretty strong opinions regarding those types of things; Vera was super patient as I nixed dresses left and right. Finally, we were down to the final dress and I had no idea who pulled it; all I knew was from the way it hung on the hanger, the exhaustion I was feeling from having tried on so many dresses already, and the fact that I was getting pretty HANGRY, I did not want to try it on. In fact, I flat out said, "nope, I'm done". Well, Vera wasn't having that! She pulled that dress and put her foot down with me. I reluctantly I tried it on, and magic happened!! That last dress was the dress I said YES TO!! Everything about it, from the style, to the material, to the price was PERFECT!! It's a "one of a kind" wedding dress that no other bride will have, and fit like a glove. I purchased it on the spot along with the veil, and cancelled the rest of the appointments I had at other bridal stores for the day because I had found the one!! First stop, last dress I tried on; memories for a lifetime. If you're looking for a bridal gown, especially if you're trying on gowns for the first time, make sure that Terry Costa is the first place on your list! I said yes to my dress here at Terry Costa! The staff was really nice. I was there for over 3 hours trying on gowns and I finally said yes! I found my princess dress for my wedding day and I couldn't be more excited. I chose a Maggie Sottero gown, its full of bling and is literally the dress of my dreams. They have this beautiful runway that you get to showcase your dress on under all the lights - literally makes you feel like a movie star. There are only 2 things I didn't like about Terry Costa: 1. They don't offer alterations. I had to find another place to get it altered. 2. The fitting rooms are small and hot! It was really cramped in there with all the gowns and the lights blaring down on you. I'm a germaphobe so all i could think about was ew if im sweating and everyone else was sweating imagine all the germs in this damn dress. Gahhhh. But yes, I would recommend this location, yes they are very helpful, and yes I truly believe you will find your princess gown here. I even went in with a budget and an idea of what I thought I would want but I ended up increasing my budget after trying the dress I fell in love with on. I am officially a Terry Costa Bride! So keep that in mind when you're reading this review because I'm extremely biased. I've actually been here before when a friend was shopping for her dress and was impressed with the customer service. For my day, we came in on a Sunday afternoon and from the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a consultant who told us how the appointment would go. Their dresses are organized by size, but she reassured me that size shouldn't matter. I received an info card to fill out and met with Savannah who was my consultant for the day. My friends and I perused the dresses and used colored clothespins to mark the dresses I wanted to try. We had picked a couple of different styles and Savannah was accommodating and encouraging. Honestly, if it wasn't for her, I might not have found my dress- it was the last one I tried on and it was so different from the ones I had tried and already liked. I was buying it from the rack for half off and there were a couple of things that needed to be fixed, but fortunately, it fit beautifully otherwise. The CEO was there that day and stopped in the dressing room to see if there was anything she could and it was a nice touch and I was impressed that she was there on a Sunday and she was greeting customers. It was an amazing experience and I'm so incredibly happy that we stoped in! I can't wait to walk down the aisle in a beautiful dress! The store is well kept and clean. Most of the dresses are kept in nice condition as well but are VERY over priced. I went on a Wednesday night but it was pretty busy and it felt more like the customers were kinda just being pushed in and out of the store like a heard of cattle. The dressing room are extremely small so it gets very difficult to try things on. Aside from this the owner was a bit pushy and rude when I spoke to her about a dress. Overall slightly below average experience. Some of the workers their seem genuinely kind but many are very snotty. From a Bride: Rude Staff Made Me Cry I'm genuinely sad to write this negative review because I got a wedding dress I loved here and a majority of the staff was nice. However, my interaction with one staff member - I was told his name is Sylvester - ruined my whole experience. It made me wish I went with the first wedding dress boutique I went to. I went to pick up my dress once I got a call saying it was ready. Over the phone and in person, nobody told us there was a balance due. In fact, THEY asked US if we had anything left to pay, and we genuinely thought we didn't, so we said nope and went on our way thinking everything was good to go. I then got a call two days later on a Monday afternoon saying we did, in fact, have a balance due. My mother was paying for my dress and was in the middle of moving, but I said I'd talk with her. I got another call on Wednesday, which is reasonable that someone would call to follow up. However, the staff member I talked to, Sylvester, was horrible to me. I started off the conversation saying "hey, I'm sorry, my mom is paying for my dress and she's in the middle of moving, she thought she paid the whole thing so she'd like to check her credit card statement first but we're on it and going as fast as we can". Acting as though he had never been in a life situation where he needed someone else's understanding and empathy, Sylvester said in a super rude and condescending tone "it shouldn't take her any time to check her credit card statement. This should already be done." If we had been told when we were at the store picking up the dress that there was a balance due, we would've been able to check and pay it on the spot, but we weren't, so we couldn't! He then continued to talk over me and basically make me feel like absolute crap. Made me cry, and I don't cry easily. If I was sassy or rude back I would own up to it and not leave this review, but I was just so bewildered. At one point, I even said "why are you being so rude to me? I didn't do anything to you!" I also had to be the one to say "this conversation doesn't seem to be going in a productive direction. We will get the payment figured out." Sylvester didn't say anything, just hung up the phone. I called back a few minutes later to pay over the phone and BEGGED the nice front desk lady to not make me talk to that guy again. I felt like a total Karen asking for a manager, or literally *anyone* else, but I just didn't feel like crying again. She was kind and took the card information down. I know with the holidays and COVID everyone in the world is having a tough time, but geez...I didn't do anything to deserve that. read more

I came here looking for a dress and I was floored by the selection! I had been to several malls and shops and I just couldn't find a floor length dress for an event that was right around the corner. I was getting so frustrated because, of course when time is super short, it's hard to get something you like. And, then I came here. And all was right with the world. I love that they sort the dresses exceptionally well. Everything is by size, color, and then design. So, you can quickly look for exactly the specifications you want. In less than a couple of hours I had tried on nearly hundreds of dresses and I had trouble finally picking one. There were so many great options. Yes a few of the dresses they sell were quite over the top, but the vast majority of them were fairly reasonable. I really like the attention they give you while you're trying on different dresses. Claudette (hopefully I spelt her name right?) made sure to always collect dresses I didn't want and return them fairly quickly. Kept the dressing rooms much less claustrophobic! She did a great job pulling dresses in different sizes and colors for me to when things weren't quite what I needed. She also did a great job giving suggestions for tailoring so a lot of dresses I thought didn't work, seemed to fit perfectly once she showed how they could be taken in. The only downside was that it was extremely crowded! Waiting for a fitting room took almost twice as long as actually picking out the dresses. But I never felt rushed while I was trying on dresses. They definitely made me feel welcome, and I will come here the next time I need a formal gown. read more
