I stopped by this small bakery with high hopes of grabbing a classic croissant, but unfortunately, they were already sold out. I ended up trying a chocolate croissant and a kouign-amann instead.
The chocolate croissant was a pleasant surprise--beautifully flaky, with a rich, buttery texture and just the right amount of chocolate. It hit the spot. The kouign-amann, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. While the pastry itself was well-made, it was overwhelmingly sweet and lacked the balance I was hoping for.
It's a charming little spot, and I'd be willing to give it another shot--hopefully earlier in the day to catch those croissants fresh out of the oven. read more
