After eating a nice Vietnamese food lunch in this area, we were in the hunt for desert. Coco Leaf is a solid pick in this area and they also had assortment of pastries. We tried two (as pictured which was banh dua and matcha bun). Both were delicious and not too sweet which is what I look for in Asian deserts. Service was friendly and quick as when we visited it was in the middle of the day so there was no line. Ambiance is clean and has the typical vibe of a boba tea place! Our drinks were as expected -

Homestead Bakery is a gem, no doubt. The thing about their food is this: no matter what you order,…read moreit's going to be made well. You really can't go wrong on that front. Case in point--the turf bagel. I love it so much that sometimes it's hard for me to order anything else. Drinks are a mixed bag for me. Their matcha (hot or iced) is solid, but I always need to sweeten it. The limeade was too bitter for my taste, and the rickey-style drink didn't quite hit my sweetness preference either. Chai (both hot and iced) is nice, but definitely add vanilla. Next on my list to try? The grilled cheese. I've been coming here for years, and the space is not big, but when it gets packed -- good luck. There are barstools facing the window and smaller tables throughout, but navigating the space can be tricky, so I wouldn't call it fully accessible. Still, the atmosphere makes up for a lot--it's got that community café element that I personally love. Overall, Homestead is the kind of place you want to experience for yourself: come for the food (which will always deliver), try the drinks with your own preferences in mind, and soak in the sense of community.

I love this spot!! Such an underwhelming location with truly some of the best Viet food in Boston…read more I've been sleeping on this spot for so long, but my sister has been telling me about Dot Cafe and I finally made some time. This spot offers affordable and quick Vietnamese food and American breakfast. I actually only came for the Bánh Bột Chiên, Vietnamese fried rice flour cakes, but then I saw that they had Mì Quảng (it's new!!). It's a noodle dish from Central Vietnam that uses wide flat tumeric noodles, and the broth is a mix of pork and shrimp flavors. It was a little sweet, rich in flavor, and the pork was soooo tender. Not any, if very little places make this dish. My Sister's Crawfish used to make the best dry version of these noodles, but they sort of rebranded + relocated and don't have it anymore SO if you want some Mì Quảng, go to Dot Cafe!!!!

I've seen photos of the unique mousse desserts online but yesterday was the first time I decided to check it out. Their pastries look amazing. I was having a case of choice paralysis. I arrived around 2:30 and noticed that some of the croissant pastries were already sold out. I decided to opt for the seasonal croissant and I was surely not disappointed. The cross section looks great and the jam/filling on the inside does have texture so it's not smooth purée which was a nice change of pace. I didn't get to try any of their drinks but judging from what I saw at the other tables, I really need to try it next time. There is a self area on the left side of the store where there are utensils and the handles of the knives were HOT when I went to get one so you can definitely rest assured that these are cleaned frequently (but do be careful). There is complementary lemon infused water and the disposal area near the restrooms. Noise level wise-- it is not a super big cafe and tables are seated close to each other and it can get loud when the coffee machine does its thing but overall I would say it's a pretty good location to have a little with a friend.

Sweet Sip definitely met our expectations that day. I got the dark and stormy milk tea which came with honey boba. It was interesting to see that you could add free toppings to your milk tea which you rarely see elsewhere. I added the passion fruit jelly and pudding. Unfortunately there were no options in the delivery app to adjust for sweetness or ice so we got the drink as is. It was very well made but was sweeter than I'd prefer (my sweetness level is 70%). However because our accompanying dinner was spicier than expected, the sweetness of the drink actually helped us! I also ordered the mochi eggpuff with pandan flavor. I'm not sure if I could taste the pandan but the eggpuff was delicious. Again, sweeter than I'd typically like but the texture was great - crunchy outside with a chewy mochi filling. We had leftovers and it heated up excellently the next day in our simple toaster oven. This was intended to be a fun add-on to our meal and turned out to be quite essential - glad we tried them out!
