This little breakfast spot is incredible! I live in Brant Rock, not too far away, but far enough away that I didn't even KNOW that Levitate (the shop) and Slacktide Roasters (the coffee roasters) served daily breakfast. VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BREAKFAST. I was so hungry one Friday morning and I saw it out the corner of my eye on the way to the market. I had to circle around quite a few times before a parking spot opened up. I walked into the store on the lower level and the line was long and winding. I was craving just a bagel and was hoping it would be worth the wait. Well, the line went quickly and when I walked up to the register, I was BLOWN AWAY by the donuts and croissants and other pastries that I saw cooling on the bakers racks! The girl behind the register informed before my order that it would be at least a 15 minute wait. So, I ordered just the plain bagel I was craving with their "special" veggie cream cheese. It was ready and brought to me within 5 mins. LET ME TELL YOU! THIS BAGEL was the BEST BAGEL I've ever had!! I even have to admit that these were even slightly better than my own homemade sourdough bagels! It was so SO fresh and that "special" veggie cream cheese was next level! It was just a bagel with a little bit of wait, but slacktide has made an incredible impression on me. I can't wait to try some of their other breakfast offerings... sometime when the parking lot isn't so full (I've been watching and no such luck yet ). Worth the 25 min drive (especially when Levitate Backyard is open)! Slacktide has amazing workers who are always in an upbeat mood and the service is always on point. The food and drinks are PHENOMENAL!!! From the fresh baked donuts, breakfast sandwiches, paninis, coffee choices and everything in between- everything on the menu is too die for! There's not been a single time I haven't liked a coffee I had ordered & I always switch up my orders to try something new. The Shaken Cinnamon Roll Latte tastes exactly how it sounds. I enjoyed the most delicious doughnut here. Fresh baked earlier that morning, the glazed donut melted in my mouth. I had the iced pea flower coconut tea suggested to me for a non-coffee drink and I'm glad I went for it! Had a vanilla syrup which sweetened it for the perfect taste. A very cool, surf/ ski vibe, it's obvious why this unique coffee house is a local favorite. Baking fresh breads, biscuits and muffins, and brewing any kind of coffee drink you can think of, Slacktide has it all. I'm a big iced coffee fan so I don't get too elaborate on my orders, but the coffee tasted great. Also enjoyed the breakfast panini with sausage, the soft boiled egg was a very pleasant surprise and contrasted well with the crunchy sour dough. Finally got to visit this spot in the South Shore! I've been hearing a lot of locals at my workplace talk about it, so I needed to try it for myself. They have a lot of different options in terms of drinks, caffeinated and non-caffeinated, and different sweet and savory food items. This location itself is not so big, so things are better to-go (I believe their first location is bigger and more spacious). Even for a Thursday afternoon, it was packed!! When I went, they had Almond Joy donuts displayed....I had to grab a couple. Flavors are rotational depending on season/holiday (fun!!) I'm obsessed with this place! I get the panini. It's made with soft boiled eggs! Coolest thing ever. The cheese all melts in between all the egg pieces. Yumm! The bread is so crunchy! The donuts are really good and there's always new ones. All the coffees I've tried have been awesome. Sometimes there's a long line but I feel like these guys really have their stuff together cus it moves pretty quick. The clothing section carries Free People! I've bought a few tops and my husband's bought hats here as well. Just an overall great place. read more

Maybe I am spoiled by the North End and fine restaurants around the city because the cappuccino tasted so bland to me that I didn't even finish it. Although it did have a lovely swirl pattern on top, that didn't help it taste any better. Atmosphere and staff are nice. Stopped into SlackTide Coffee Roasters when looking for a coffee shop after a nearby hike and by am I glad we did! This is a cozy little coffee shop but what they may lack in square footage they certainly make up for in amazing products and friendly staff! The coffee at SlackTide is drop-dead amazing. I bought a pound of their beans to take home and a free cup of coffee comes with each bag of beans purchased. The Brazil coffee was delicious and richly flavorful and made for a really nice cup of coffee. On a subsequent trip back to SlackTide, I opted for a pound of the Nicaraguan beans which also was sensational. My wife had the cold brew and gave it rave reviews, as well. There is a limited menu of a few pastries and things like avocado toast available to complement the drink menu. A really nice coffee shop in Marshfield and worth checking out! Be sure to grab a pound of coffee to bring home with you; you won't be disappointed! read more

Delicious coffee, hands down my FAVORITE coffee shop in the area. I love coming here. The staff remember your face and your name, and they are always so kind here. I am alone as I write this. It's November 10, 2020, the time is 7:12 am, on the couch across from me the dog is asleep, at the other end of the house my wife is asleep; outside the window, the sun of dawn is flinging spangles on the dancing Humarock shore. I go to fill the gooseneck kettle, its dial is already set to 96 C, the temperature at which one must brew pour over coffee. I feel an oppressive shame come over me; what type of man knows this? Oh, how my father would have tormented me for this snobbery. Are you too good for the instant coffee, Karl Ove? Or for water that dares to actually boil? I can hear his voice, full of irrepressible anger, cursing me for pledging my faith to whatever blasphemous appendix of scripture dictates these idiotic rules for what ought to be a peaceful morning ritual. These thoughts compress me, yet through my dense and opaque turmoil I can see that the water is ready. I grind the beans, a new bag today, from a local roaster called Slack Tide. Will they disappoint, just as every other bag of coffee has since we moved here? I'll find out soon enough, but first, the bloom, wait, pour, wait, a little more... I step out into the nipping and eager air. At least if the coffee is garbage, the sea, the snotgreen sea, will provide some semblance of comfort. Yet no sooner had the warm liquid touched my palate, a shudder ran through my whole body, and I stopped, intent upon the extraordinary changes that were taking place. Whence did it come? That much was clear: this was far and away the best cup of coffee I had tasted since leaving the Bay Area, a place which, despite its active role in leading us all to beastly deaths via cultural rot and violent propaganda, was at least home to many fine coffee roasters. Nearly two months have passed since that morning. In that time I have had the pleasure to sample a variety Slack Tide's light and medium roast blends. All were excellent. I have also, on occasion, ordered a dirty chai to pick up with my beans, a guilty pleasure that I hesitate to disclose in a public venue, not least because of the distress that such a beverage would have caused my father. But I include this detail nonetheless, because this year we need to harness those few rare delights that can make the spirit soar, albeit momentarily, before colliding mid-flight with the terrors that stalk the air. For Slack Tide, I have no criticism, constructive or otherwise; these are friendly people who make good coffee, and I will continue to buy that coffee for as long as I live nearby. read more

Super nice guys that run SlackTide. That alone makes me want to continue to give them business. Always pleasant and kind and are doing really well with the online order/curbside pickup during COVID-19. I'm more of a fan of the bagged coffee beans here to make at home. Some cups I've gotten from them have been pretty watery so I just grab the bags to make myself. They turn out great in my French press. I have to say though, my favorite part about them currently is their bagels! I know they're sourced from a local bagel place but awesome choice guys!!! They're so fresh and flavorful and so reasonably priced. I appreciate their offering of donuts on certain days. Or should I say my 4 year old does :-) fun flavors and they're always changing it up. I tried this place out recently while traveling from out of state and let me just say yes the food and drinks are incredible, but the vibes seem very off. Everyone, although very nice, seemed to be fake nice. I felt a lot of toxic positivity while in there which is not great for your image. This is not to say I did not enjoy my meal and beverage, but I don't think I would return and give it a second chance as I felt very uncomfortable and judged. I'll be sticking to Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. Very disappointed for a place with such high praise from locals. read more
