My friend knows I like ice cream, especially Asian-inspired, so this was a no-brainer to try and it's a home run! I spoke with the two staff there and they said they've been open for about three years. The flavors change regularly so follow them on Instagram for updates. They offer 4 flavors of soft serve so there are also 2 combo twists available. Creamy deliciousness full of flavor. You can actually taste the flavor but it's not overpowering. They give samples of the ice cream, and if I was going home right away I would've ordered a quart to bring home. The matcha latte was quite good. Strong flavor. Not grainy, which is a huge plus. Perhaps a bit on the sweet side for some people. Very clean establishment. Very friendly staff. I can't wait to go bank and bring some home. Hopefully I can get black sesame next time.

The staff are always pleasant and offer samples for the soft serve so you get something you actually enjoy (they all taste good so you can't go wrong!!). The space is a bit cramped, but the service is so quick that you're in and out in no time. Unfortunately they announced they are closing after this Summer and their last day will be Sept 1st. They will be offering Milk Tea and Ube soft serve and they are still selling pints. I'm going to miss coming to this place with family and friends and I hope something can fill the void that Chaji will be leaving behind because this place is a gem!

We decided to get the preset style ube and ube/black sesame twist sundaes. It has a good mixture of texture from the creamy soft serve style ice cream, white choco pops, and corn flakes condensed milk and mochi. The ladies working were quick and efficient! Thank you! There isn't seating but we were taking it to go anyways! Will always be back!
Decided to give Chaji another shot. This visit, I definitely enjoyed my ice cream much more than my last visit, around a year ago. I still feel like the ube ice cream flavor lacks actual ube taste & vanilla overpowers. I enjoyed the sesame flavor more than the ube flavor. Usually, I favor ube over anything else, however, I gravitated more towards the black sesame because it's the only flavor they offer that isn't too sweet. I like the toppings included in the sundae. I got an ube sundae, with ube+ black sesame ice cream swirl. Was a big fan of the mini mochi balls. The topping combos reminded me of Matcha Maiko Café. The condensed milk complemented the sundae well. I would get this again if I was nearby and in the mood for sweet ice cream but wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

The store itself is pretty small and can get crowded quickly but there's a wall to take pictures in front of, and it's very clean and aesthetic inside. The service was great - you're allowed to have 2 samples. I tried the ube and brown sugar milk tea soft serve and ended up getting the brown sugar milk tea sundae. The sundaes are very instagram worthy and crafted with care. The taste of both soft serves were carefully curated and full bodied for a frozen dessert. The boba on in the sundae got a little hard from the cold soft serve but the other parts of the sundae balanced well. It was a little bit expensive but worth the money based on the taste and look of the dessert. I'd definitely recommend this place for an after work sweet treat!

It makes me happy to even just scoop it with my spoon. Every little detail of it makes me happy. With all that said, this ice cream makes me so happy. I had the ube and black sesame and both are the best I've had. The ube was far superior but both are great. The first time I went, I had the ube sundae (ube ice cream with white chocolate pearls, corn flakes, mochi and condensed milk drizzle) and loved it so much I went again and wanted to try another flavor but couldn't bear not getting the amazing ube so I got the ube/black sesame swirl. I want to go again but I was just there and I'm old and probably pushing the limits of my health. I'm definitely going to go again! I can't wait.

I find that the ice cream is a bit too sweet such that it masked the flavor of a toasted black sesame taste. I think this place was better when it first opened.
Been wanting to try this place for awhile now. Finally had dinner in Quincy and it was down the street from Chaji. Went on a Friday night around 8pm. We were nicely greeted by one of the workers there. She asked if it was our first time and we said yes. I told her I'm excited to try the Vietnamese coffee soft serve. While my wife was looking at the menu to see what she can order, the nice girl there offered us some free samples to make our choice easier. So decided to stick to half half (Vietnamese coffee and Ube) I highly recommend trying the Vietnamese coffee soft serve if you're a fan Vietnamese coffee! The soft serve was so good. From The taste to the texture. Highly recommend getting Chaji for a late night dessert! I was super excited to try their Vietnamese Coffee soft serve.

Had to try them before they close on 9/1! Delish flavors (ube & Thai tea) and toppings but melted too fast. Also not a huge serving for $9. Small place with no seating; we sat outside next to the T station. read more

Chaji Creamery is a small spot right across from Wollaston Station. It is definitely a walk in walk out dessert place, but the soft serve is delicious. The staff were super efficient and polite, and I appreciated that they offered free samples without hesitation. I ended up getting the Ube Sundae it was super creamy and had great flavor with many toppings. Only remark was that the soft serve melts very fast so be aware. I will be back to try more flavors! read more

Went there for the first time and I'm sold! I got the black sesame sundae but asked for it with ube soft serve. Not too sweet, perfect blend of textures with the waffle cone crunch to the soft mochi- 10 out of 10. Highly recommend. read more

Pretty solid ice cream and drinks Personally, I really enjoyed their Ube Milk Shake for its rich and creamy, but not overly sweet taste! It was certainly much needed after a long day. On the other hand, if you really like matcha, I'd definitely recommend this spot as their matcha is on the stronger side when it comes to their drinks and ice cream. Small and cute store. Cute little shop right across the Wollaston red line T stop, with many street parking spots available. Some flavors may not be available (they rotate their flavors) so I would suggest calling ahead or order online. Sesame was not available (a reason for me to return) so I asked for Earl Grey and Matcha soft serve, which they were able to stack on top of one another. $6.95 plus tax. Each topping is extra .99 - picky, mini mochi, stroopwaffle etc. Both flavors were ok but not as strong as I hoped. I tasted only a hint of bergamot in the Earl grey. Matcha lacked the intense grassy-ish flavor. If you're a matcha fan I would suggest another cute shop in Fenway area. Friendly staff read more
I was feeling ice cream and found out that they were open from winter hibernation season. Yay! The shoppe is very small and luckily we were there when they just opened, like boba was not even ready type of early. I chose the matcha ice cream with mochi, waffles, strawberry and pocky sticks toppings. The ice cream melted really quickly which was okay because it was in a cup so it became a matcha smoothie! The bite size waffles were so cute. Wish there was more than just 2 pieces. The service was great and super quick. The whole place is very well kept and clean. No stickiness anywhere despite a sweets shop. read more

The black sesame and ube swirl soft serve was so rich and creamy. LOVED!! They let you sample the flavors before ordering and you can also change the soft serve flavor for the recommended combination which is what I did! Really tiny quick ice cream shop with some decent flavors like ube. They used to have black sesame which was amazing but that no longer exists. It is literally across from the Wollaston Red Line T Station. They also make boba drinks as well. We had the ube sundae. Toppings were good but the ice cream can melt quickly. read more
they didn't have some flavors when we went but we sampled the pandan, Thai tea, and milk tea soft serve and the flavors were decent but the pandan and Thai tea were on the icier side, not as creamy as expected. so we went with the milk tea sundae, which was pretty good and strong in flavor, but the sundae also comes with boba coated in syrup that overwhelmed the ice cream flavor a bit and unfortunately ended up being too sweet for us but the server was really nice and patient while we were picking what to order! and although the inside is small, we were lucky there weren't many other people there when we went read more

Brown sugar milk tea soft serve had strong brown sugar flavor but not much tea flavor though. Pandan Ube looks and tastes better than brown sugar milk tea. But both of the soft serve were too icy, not the creamy texture. Thought I was eating gelato or frozen icy slushy kinda texture.... Both soft serves were way tooooo sweet! Perfect! This is exactly what I need on a hot summer day! There are not a lot of Asian flavored ice cream in Boston especially milk tea flavor! After boba ice cream became trendy last summer I am happy to finally see an ice cream shop that has boba sundaes. I tried the matcha, milk tea, and Thai tea sundaes. Matcha - 8/10 : Super delicous matcha taste! Not too bitter and not too sweet. Compared to Matcha Cafe Maiko in Boston, Chaji's matcha is lighter and brighter. It is sweeter than Maiko. Thai Tea - 7.5/10 : Very subtle and light that tea taste. I would've preferred the Thai tea flavor to be a little stronger. But good balance of flavor and sweetness overall. Milk Tea - 7.5/10 : Same as the Thai tea, subtle milk tea flavor. I would've liked a stronger flavor. Ice cream - 8/10 : Overall, I give the ice cream a 8 because it is nice and smooth, not too sweet that overwhelms the flavor, but I would've wanted a stronger tea taste. The ice cream melts really fast too, but it was hot that day. Boba - 10/10 : The boba is so yummy! One of the best boba I've had. They're smaller than regular tapioca in milk teas which is perfect for sundaes. They're chewy and perfectly sweet! Other Toppings - 9/10 : Very standard sundae toppings, pocky sticks, mochi, and the sticky wafers. They have a crunchy white ball topping that was unique to me. I haven't had it before so I'm not sure what it was but it was crunchy! Yum! One thing I'd suggest is to have syrups or some type of drizzle. Chocolate drizzle, strawberry syrup, condense milk would be nice with this. Overall, I am happy with this experience. A bit pricey for one sundae but there are not many places that have boba sundaes. I would come again to try their other menu options. FYI : This creamery is take out only. It is super small inside there are no seatings. read more

Asian flavors + soft serve, what's more to say? Stopped by after lunch on a Saturday. The interior is small with no seating so it's really more of a grab and go spot. The Wollaston T stop is right outside, making it convenient for those taking the red line. They have 4 flavors available at a time. We decided to try the ube sundae and it was delicious. Super creamy but not too heavy. The sundae had white chocolate pearls, condensed milk, cornflakes and mochi (the best part!!). The slight nutty, vanilla flavor of the ube came through and was a great dessert to share. A little expensive, coming out to a little under $10 for a sundae. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the Quincy area and in the mood for a sweet treat. read more

The BOGO deal during the grand opening makes the soft-serve ice cream you get here all the sweeter! We got the Red Bean Sundae and the Matcha Sundae. The Matcha Sundae was my favorite of the two. The matcha flavor of the ice cream actually wasn't that strong but tasted good. I think if the flavor was a bit stronger, it'd be better. When we went, they ran out of boba so we replaced it with mochi topping. I *loved* the mochi topping they had, it paired nicely with the matcha and was very soft - not hard like at some other places. The matcha wafer apart of this sundae was also really good, it added to the flavor of the sundae. The two pocky sticks and the strawberry pieces also made the sundae look cute and aesthetically pleasing. I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the Red Bean Sundae. The red bean sundae was decent, but the ice cream itself didn't particularly have a red bean taste. They added red bean paste to the sundae which helped strengthen the flavor of the red bean ice cream. For the scoops of ice cream without the red bean paste, the ice cream flavor more so resembled a vanilla taste with an extremely subtle red bean essence. The emphasized vanilla taste may have also been due to the fact there were white chocolate pearls added to it. The pearls had a bit of an overpowering taste in terms of the overall flavor of the sundae. This sundae also had a mochi topping which was really good and paired well with it. It seemed like they ran out of quite a good amount of ingredients when we went, which is probably due to the fact they just opened. When we went, at around 3 pm on a Friday, they didn't have brown sugar boba. The brown sugar boba is something that's a part of 3 out of 4 of the sundae offerings so I was surprised they didn't have this. They also didn't have Thai Tea ice cream. The customer service was also very pleasant; we ordered and got our ice cream pretty quickly. Even though it says you can order at the window, you actually have to go inside to order, which is fine. The inside of the shop is quite small (there is no seating), so be aware that you have to wait outside to get your order. Parking can be a bit difficult around here as well, but you'll definitely find street parking within a block. Overall, I'm not sure if I would come here again. The sundaes were enjoyable but could've been better (they also melted very quickly). We ended up paying $8.50 (w/ tax) for the two sundaes, which is a pretty solid deal. Otherwise, if it weren't for the deal, each sundae would be $8. I'm not sure that I would pay $8 per sundae - it's a bit pricy. I could definitely get more ice cream elsewhere for $8. If I come here again, I look forward to trying their Thai Tea Sundae, hopefully with brown sugar boba! read more
amazing soft serve, amazing flavor choices. one of the few places that has black sesame! could not stop eating the ube sundae, must try. the flavor of the ube and black sesame were both rich but not heavy. the milk tea was also great, as was the matcha. wish we got more sundaes as they were perfectly balanced without the toppings being too overwhelming. read more
Great place for flavored soft serve! They have four flavors as of this month (flavors may change or rotate) which are matcha, Thai tea, milk tea, and black sesame (new replacing red bean)! I was able to sample the Thai tea and milk tea, but ended up ordered as matcha black sesame swirl which was amazing! They use good quality matcha which I would definitely taste in the soft serve. The black sesame was a bit sweeter than the other flavors but complimented the matcha perfectly! It was a decently sized portion that can be shared as well! It cost about $6.50. Would recommend trying this place! There is no indoor seating, so you will need to take it out. The inside is really cute, but small. They also have drinks and sundaes (ice cream with toppings). read more

amazing! they let me try two samples, i picked ube first (great flavor) but tried the milk tea after and was in literal shock from how good it was LOL the brown sugar drizzle on it tasted a lot like caramel, but it brought everything together perfectly! and the tiramisu wafer was super good too the boba did get hard towards the end but i got my fair share of it when it was chewy lowkey felt a little rushed out of there even tho the place was empty but the worker was sweet nonetheless read more
Cute little Asian soft serve spot in Quincy. Emphasis on the "little" as it's REALLY tight in there. Imagine a third of the space you have to move in Taiyaki NYC. However, the ice cream and the service makes everything better. It was our first time there and I've always wanted to try it because I see my friends go there all the time, and their current new flavor was black sesame so I had to try it. Walked in and the cashier asked if we had been here before. We said no and they explained to us that each person gets up to two samples of their soft serve, so essentially we got to try all 4 flavors! I'd say Ube was the best flavor, followed by the Milk Tea which was really good and had a pleasant floral tone to it. Black Sesame was super nutty, threw me off because I was only used to black sesame frosted mochinuts. It tasted a lot like peanut butter. The Matcha was super strong. It was a beautiful deep green, but the flavor was too strong for my tastes. In the end, I decided on an ube/black sesame twist with boba and mochi. The tiny boba pearls were so cute and still chewy despite their size. Definitely recommend this place but wished their customer floor was bigger. :) read more

Service 10/10 friendly staff! We came in when it was raining and the girl working there was so sweet and nice to us! Offered us a paper towel to cover our heads. She let me have half pandan and half ube on my sundae and made it look extra pretty. Pretty unique flavors for soft serve. Pretty expensive too for icecream, but definitely worth! read more

A very convenient dessert place right off the Wollaston red line T stop. There are also a couple of parking spots right infront. The store has no indoor seating area so a bunch of people stand outside to enjoy their desserts. This place is awesome for instagram food pics. The soft serve had so much thai tea flavor. I sampled the green tea & sesame and they were rich in flavor too. The serving size is huge and can definitely be shared between two people. Our toppings included mochi, chocolate balls, boba & pocky. They all paired well with the soft serve. read more
