DISCLAIMER: I did not use their installation or repair services. This review is about their estimation process and sales tactics. Their tech, Noah, was pushy with his proposals. He wasted time by having me watch a video of their process, and attempted to get me to agree to a proposal the day of - estimates running in the $15k-$50k ranges. Their estimates came in higher than their competitors by about $5k including Groundworks. When I informed him that I would not be using their services, he replied with, "What are your plans for your sagging floors? How do you plan to address this?" I have met with many contractors on this same issue, and no one else aside from Groundworks and TerraFirma has attempted to blow our issues out of proportion. However, Noah did offer to do a side by side comparison of the other offers with his, which I did not take. I ungraciously assumed it wouldn't have been attempt to price match, but to take another opportunity to push me more on his proposals. Don't use them, if you want to avoid fear mongering and overpriced services. read more

Hired to correct sinking floor throughout the home, to the point doors couldn't close or would stick and could feel significant change in the floor height while walking. TerraFirma sent over an estimator, then scheduled repairs. They were done in less than one working day and provided photos. They laid down paper to protect the floor as they were working. Due to another issue found, had to reschedule a second day to come out and install a supporting beam in the crawlspace. Different crew but were as professional and clean as the first. Folks in the office were helpful and responded quickly. Would hire again if needed. read more

TerraFirma - Foundation Repair Near Me - Olympia, Washington

***Please note -- I updated my review from 1 to 5 stars. Terra Firma took the initiative to reach out and assess any next steps needed to correct the problem. Trust is 100% restored knowing that if problems come up they will take any action needed to follow up. I will also say that the work they originally did was actually to code, and we agreed that the moisture problems arose due to the nonstandard setup of my dehumidifier, NOT because of errors in Terra Firma's work. Thank you Terra Firma.*** Unfortunately, I have to drop a negative review in the interest of warning other folks that their work has gone downhill. I previously had an excellent experience with Terra Firma for management of a water problem in my crawlspace. I hired them without question again for my current property for management of moisture issues, and I didn't check their work upon completion as thoroughly as I should have. Unfortunately, about 1 - 2 months after completion of work, I discovered a large mushroom growing out of one of the structural posts in my crawl/basement. On closer inspection, I noticed that the dehumidifier water discharge line they installed was dumping less than a foot away from my foundation, corresponding to the exact spot the mushroom was growing. Moisture was the exact problem they were supposed to fix, but now they have created a severe structural problem secondary to moisture with the dehumidifier line dumping large quantities of water right next to my foundation. In other words, they created the exact issue they were purporting to fix by collecting the moisture and depositing it into my foundation. Once fruiting bodies are growing out of wood, this is an indicator that the wood is severely compromised and the fungus network has grown extensively. I now have a very expensive and serious problem to fix. I called to let them know about the problem, not sure if I will hear back from the coordinator/ the team who did the work. I am not sure if I would trust them to fix the issue after the damage they have caused, but I would accept financial remediation. If they take steps to make things right, I would update my review. I would not hire Terra Firma again for any crawlspace work, be it structural or moisture related because of the big problem they have caused. Again, just would like to warn others. read more

Bailey did a fantastic job inspecting my crawl space and designing a solution that fit my needs. I really appreciated his thorough evaluation, detailed explanations, and professionalism. I will keep TerraFirma in mind for future projects. read more

We noticed our house was shifting due to cracks and loose flooring. We requested an estimate just to see the cost of the repair . The person that came out was Tulane Seville. He was very thorough and explained everything from A-Z. Because the cost was way out of our budget, we'll just continue to monitor the cracks and hopefully it doesn't get worst. If you definitely have the funds and really need to have foundation work done then I would recommend TERRAFIRMA. read more

I truly got the very best service from Sam . He came and did a very thorough evaluation of my basement problems, formulated a plan to address them and answered all of my questions. I even called back a couple times with questions and he was so very courteous, professional, and informative. After I signed the contract for the work to be done, I worked with Brie to get on the schedule. like Sam, Brie was a pleasure to work with. Customer service was A+ a lot because I can be pretty picky. read more

We just had our crawl space in Aloha, Oregon encapsulated by TerraFirma foundation systems. The project from bid to completion went smoothly and we are very impressed with the results. Our team of Antonio, Jesse and Jacob did a superb job and were so tidy and respectful of our home and ourselves. I reached out to Terrafirma when I needed to get an understanding as to what was causing an issue in my basement flooring. Sam was extremely professional and provided a lot of guidance as to what the next steps would be in addressing my concerns. Even though he and his company didn't need to provide me with any services at this time, he helped me strategize what was needed moving forward. He asked me to send him pictures when I get another company to do some minor work so he could see what was going on and help me determine if anything else would be needed to correct the problem. 5 stars to this guy! read more

Though I was just a tad disappointed when Sam himself didn't show up to do the job, I thought his replacement, Tieran(?) was just as charming. He knew his stuff and got right to it, keeping me informed all along as to their progress in the process. Though I thought they took a few TOO MANY breaks (a HALF AND HOUR, Tieran? Really?!? and MORE than ONE?) I could appreciate that they had a tough job to do. All in all, I was pleased with what they did! read more

Edit review: I have used this company in the past and will do so in the future. I had a poor experience with scheduling (largely attributed to the Microsoft outage) and a surprise quote adjustment on the day of install. However, after working with the management team, a remedy and resolution was reached that left me feeling this was an unfortunate exception to their general high-quality service and standards. 4/5 stars due to some bumps in the road but they ultimately made it right. read more

Good contractors, absolutely terrible management, follow-through, and design. They signed on to our egress and waterproofing project in late 2019 and here we are, in December of 2020, and we still aren't done. This is because: 1. Without asking us they changed all the permit drawings, and submitted a design that would not work. We had to resubmit the original drawings after we found out about the changes and called out their mistakes. 2. The ordered all the wrong size windows and had to delay the project 2 months farther 3. They still have not installed ladders, window well covers, or hooked up the drains for the window wells. Because of this, our window wells have filled with water and the siding and wall assembly is getting soaked. I'll update this review to describe the problems in more detail later, but for now I need to stop my basement from flooding. Only reason I didn't give them 1 star was their workers and laborers, who are skilled, kind, and hard working. They're stuck with a terrible management structure, but every time Terra Firma has been able to get the right materials and plans together to actually perform the work we're paying them for the craftsmanship has been top notch. read more

I should have posted a review years ago when Terra Firm lifted up our sinking home in Olympia (the floor was an inch below the baseboards) and encapsulated the crawl space. They did a fantastic job. The workers worked HARD. I'm writing a review now regarding the last two checkup/service visits. They came out today and also about a year ago for an annual checkup. Each time they came out, the service rep was awesome. Friendly, helpful, and I feel confident in what they say is going on under the house. If you need your house jacked up, or your crawl space encapsulated; I highly recommend Terra Firma. read more

I had a sinking porch and sinking driveway. I had addressed the porch with another company about 7 years ago and they were completely out of the ballpark for just the porch repair. Our driveway became a problem over the last couple of years and my wife stumbled over the trip hazard more than once and begged me to find a way to solve this. I located TerraFirma and asked for a quote. The associate that came on sight was amazing - his presentation was so good, I cancelled the appointment for a second quote and asked TerraFirma to do the project. BTW - they were 1/3 the price for the entire project from what the other company quoted 7 years ago for just the porch. The technicians arrived today and from start to finish were grade A++. I would do a commercial for this company - best experience ever! read more

I had another company come out and take a look. After heavy rain I had a small leak at the base of a basement wall about 3 ' below grade. The other company said I had a major problem requiring about $20k in fixes to include a trench/sump pump issue. Stunned, I looked on Yelp to get a second opinion. Made an appt expecting the worst. Bill with TerraFirma came out to take a look. He spent some time in the basement looking around. Ultimately he said he be happy to sell me the Cadillac of systems but in reality it could be satisfactorily patched in a couple hours!! I got an honest assessment from a nationally recognized company. I would recommend for Any future foundation issues. Five Stars. Thank you for being honest!! read more

Had some fairly extensive work done in my basement by Terrafirma (adding carbon fiber strips to strengthen foundation walls and installing their VaporLoc Elite Wall System to waterproof my basement). The work was led by foreman Anton who did just a fantastic job. Their entire team was great - working with Bill from sales and Bree from project coordination. Awesome folks and fantastic work at a competitive price. read more

Contacted terra firma about floor sagging. Sam came to evaluate and give an estimate. He listened carefully to what I wanted and thoroughly explained what he was checking for and what he found. He then respectfully helped me to understand options, and gave me a reasonable estimate, as i have now had several bids. Thank you. read more

If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Richard Stewart was our sales person who came to our house to look at our problem and give us a quote, Bree Larson was our customer service rep, and Colin was the leading man in our actual repair. We are new home owners, who had ground water intrusion and straight up FLOODING in our basement right after month 2 of moving in. We did hours and hours of research, had at least 10 companies come to look at the problem and give us their opinion/quote, before we decided on TerraFirma. Mind you we had literally no idea what to do and were just trying to follow our gut to choose the right company. Every step of the way Richard, Bree, and Colin were so kind, quick to respond, and so extremely knowledgable. We felt so safe in their hands and are so incredibly grateful to have our basement completely waterproofed. Colin waterproofed our retaining wall, dug interior drains around the perimeter of the problem rooms, and installed an underground sump pump that filters into our downspout outside of our house to pump the water out from underneath our home. Groundwater, and water in general, is an absolute nightmare and Colin knew everything - as well as took the time to walk us through and explain his work every step of the way. So thorough, so neat, we are elated. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Stop your search here, this is the company you want, hands down. read more

Backstory: Our daylight basement had a history of flooding nearly every year. We tried putting in a french drain around the area where water was coming in which helped a bit, but didn't resolve our issue. A few years later, we also had a cement wall put into the ground about 6" away from the house which extended 6-8' down into the ground. This didn't resolve our issue either. So finally we decided to just install a sump pump. We contacted a few local places, but felt best about Terrafirma. About Terrafirma: They were super friendly throughout the process, very clear about expectations, and were always happy to answer any questions we had. Installation went very well. They were working in some tight spaces which made it quite difficult to contain the dust (from busting up the concrete), but they a pretty good job. About our pump: We can tell that the pump has come on at some point and pumped out water, but we've never heard it. It must be very quiet! Our basement has been completely dry ever since, so we are very happy with our end result. read more

We have been doing business with Terrafirma for four years and trust them 100% to maintain the crawl space waterproof system they installed. The entire team is professional and friendly. Bruce from TerraFirma spent the greater part of an afternoon evaluating the condition of my house's foundation. He was exceptionally thorough, provided helpful education for foundational issues I was somewhat aware of as well as those I was entirely unaware of. I asked a lot of questions and he was kind in response and considerate in helping me understand the landscape of several improvement options. The quotes he provided were reasonable, flexible, and tailored to my current foundation needs, as well as things to consider in the future. I now understand what I'm dealing with in my nearly 100-year-old house as I consider the next steps. I highly recommend TerraFirma for a professional objective perspective on foundation improvement. read more

The team was helpful and came up with a good plan to fix my foundation. They got it done and made the effort to do a good job.

TerraFirma encapsulated our walk-in crawl-space, which had brought a lot of moisture into our home for years. They also installed a professional dehumidifier that dealt with the moisture. From start to finish, they were professional and responsive with communication. They completed the job in one day. The vapor barrier they install is effective and durable. If I have future needs that TF could help with, I would be glad if they could do the project. read more

Fantastic customer service! Unfortunately we ended up not using TerraFirma AND I certainly wonder if that was a good idea. We recently called them to give us an idea on another possible project and again unfortunately, it is more than we currently have budgeted and will take the wait and see approach but I've been so happy with the customer service and thorough evaluation of each potential project that I wanted to at least write this review. read more

Tried calling about uneven floors at a post and was told that this company was not willing to come out and look at it, after I was told by the home and garden show representative that they would. Before I was told that they were not willing to work on a previous property. At the time I though that was reasonable as it was an older house but the current house is a 1990s home that is in fairly good shape minus the floor being uneven at a post. Pretty pathetic customer service even in getting a quote- glad I dodged this bullet and get to work with a better contractor moving forward! read more

After having our power mast come off our roof with a huge amount of snow.. we got the power to he house installed underground... This was not done with a french-drain and so the water built up under or slab and caused damage in our basement. Terrafirma Foundations came out 3 months later (it was a long wait but totally worth the wait) to give a bid. The technicians came out and changed the plan when hearing the story and seeing the foundation walls were from the 1920s. The ejection pump and interior french-drain they installed have done the trick and our basement has not flooded in the rains. Thank you. read more

Hired TerraFirma to do some waterproofing of my crawlspace and so far I'm very happy with the work. About 4 months ago (I just joined Yelp recently) I hired TerraFirma to put an interior drain and sump pump in my Seattle basement after some flooding. When they pulled up the carpet to start work it became obvious that the problem was much bigger (roots running all through and cracking the foundation). The plan had to change entirely and the job got way bigger. Luckily, TerraFirma was with me the whole way. They owned the problem from end to end, figuring out how to get the new work done within a reasonable price and coordinating all of the various sub-contractors who were involved in removing and repouring my basement foundation. Ryan and his crew were always extremely polite, hard working, communicative and timely. It's not an experience I would ever want to go through again, but if I did, there isn't anyone else I would call. read more

We called TerraFirma Foundation Systems to come take a look at our crawlspace since they seemed like an expert in this field. They came out to look at our crawl space while my mom was home (we had small puddles of water on top of the plastic). Since she didn't know much about the situation she asked him to reach out to us. A few days went by and we did not hear anything. We called them to sendthe quote and finally called to let us know how much and he recommended a solution for french drains etc which would be over $5K. Luckily, we had a few more companies come take a look because they told us that none of those systems were necessary and it was just our dryer vent which was causing those puddles on top of the plastic. We are definitely a little disappointed in their solution recommendation. Considering they are supposed to be experts, how did they miss that puddles on top of the plastic were not coming from beneath the ground but from a clogged/damaged dryer vent? read more

We were concerned about some new cracking on the ceiling of our basement, and we contacted TerraFirma to review the situation. Setting up the appointment was easy, and Kyle (I think it was Kyle) arrived on time and examined the foundation, and was patient while we dealt with a couple of other contractors we had on the property at the time. He didn't find any faults with our foundation (yay), but he also went above and beyond by pointing out some minor modifications we could make around the foundation to prevent water seepage now and in the future. Definitely recommend. read more
