We drove up and as I was going in I see two of their employees running to the glass window to take a look at our two very large Woolly Akitas. We start talking and the young man walked me through this amazing buffet of goodness. Then he directs me to the meats over the charcoal... Yes, there is a Heaven, and I'm right there!! I run out and tell my husband. We both grab to-go boxes, fill them up and run back to the car to turn the A/C back on for our pups. Much munching later and a lot of "o dang" and "this is deliciousness" o and "this is the best!" We finally got done Honestly, we had to unbutton that top button of our pants. Full but satisfied. We over filled our to-go boxes and had two passion fruit drinks. I believe it was a total of maybe $40. Way better than we've had in a very long time. Friendly and sweet folks working there. Family owned. The food is AMAZING!!! You gotta check it out!!!

No off cuts that would scare away those intimidated by some of the more rustic ingredients that are sometimes found in feijoada. There are beautiful ribs and delicious smokey flavor here and nothing to fear or peck at. The condiments. The chef from São Paulo has a real mastery of condiments. His salad dressing will literally turn you into a salad person even if you don't enjoy or typically opt for a salad. There is a little vinegar-based pepper condiment for the feijoada that perfectly balances the wieght of the dish. Don't sleep on any of the little liquids in plastic cups that are served to you. They are all gold. The few issues I've had are regarding communication to customers. I've driven to the restaurant during normal business hours THREE times in a row to find them closed. On two occasions they closed early because it was a slow day. This is especially odd because their hours are lunch-focused as opposed to dinner focused. This is common in Brazil but I feel a little out of place in the U.S. Being closed for dinner is not great, in my personal opinion. Another time they were closed for participating in a culture festival, which is wonderful, but when I called before coming there was no automated message or any type of communication at all informing me that they wouldn't be open that day. It was irritating. Despite the above, when you can make it in, call to make sure they are actually there, and your visit will be well worth it. They are a tiny, family-run kitchen, and I'm ok overlooking to bumps in the road for superb food and very nice people.

Overall the meats are great albeit some of the steak was overcooked, however the value for this meal was excellent. With tip, I paid $21 for nearly 1.4 pounds of various meats. This is a self-service buffet style cafe for most of the food. You take your place off a stack and service yourself. We each took rice, carrots, lettuce and beans. At the end of this short line, there are meat carvers and servers who will service you your meat choices at any degree of cooking: rare, medium rare, etc. Alice had chicken, and I had beef and sausage. Once your place is filled to your choosing at the meat station, it's weighed, and you're presented with a hand-written receipt with the cost. We ate very well for very little money. Our foods were delicious. There are beverages and a bar. We arrived at Noon with approximately 10 other people at tables. By 1pm there were at least 30 people eating. I formed the impression that many were regulars. The staff are very friendly, and this has to be one of most economical and delicious meals I've had this year. We both plan to return.
