Great selection of pots and garden accoutrement. The prices are very reasonable. I'll be back for sure.

The selection will knock your socks off! Bring water and an umbrella. I will be back with my credit card! Well worth every penny and I had many left over. No puedo decir suficientes palabras amables sobre este negocio y todo el personal! He visitado varias veces e incluso he traído a la familia para disfrutar de un día de tranquilidad. Verdaderamente agradecido.

Green Things Nursery is a plant lover's dream. The selection is amazing. I went in mainly to look…read moreat houseplants and was really impressed by the wide range of sizes--everything from small starter plants to some seriously impressive extra-large ones that could probably become a full roommate. I wasn't even shopping for outdoor plants, but it was clear they have a huge variety if you are. It's the kind of place where you walk past section after section and keep thinking, "Oh wow... they have that too?" They also have a great selection of pots, so it's dangerously easy to convince yourself you need "just one more plant" because you already found the perfect pot for it. Definitely a fun place to explore if you love plants... or if you accidentally keep becoming a plant person.

The staff at Spadefoot Nursery is very knowledgeable and easy going…read more They focus on native and non-invasive plants that will not only survive our climate, but nurture it and help the entire ecology thrive. The selection is never ending and you can find many native plants that are difficult to find, elsewhere, and impossible to find at the large chain nurseries. I've ended up taking so many plants back to larger places (that I won't name, but we all know) because, even when buying them at whatever price, at the time, I already know that they won't last the year that they are guaranteed for. It always seems like such a waste. Built from the ground up, it's nice to go somewhere that you know isn't just a gear in the big box monster machine. Gardening was one of the things that got me through a cancer journey, and yesterday, as I put my hands in sand and soil, I watched a hummingbird light on one of my favorite flowering bushes, that Jared, the owner, helped me pick out, near the beginning. It was little when I chose it, but now is almost five feet high. I don't remember it's name, but if I were to show anyone who works at Spadefoot, they would know what plant it is, where it can thrive, what care it will require, and when it will bloom. With some thought and planning, one can literally have a rotating buffet of blossoming food for all the critters, without adding any dyes, sugars, or plastic feeders. Nature does it all. I think of this nursery, every single morning, when I see this particular bush, which feeds the bees, hummers... Offers shade and shelter to those without wings, and other wonders, and remember how all things are connected. If you want a peaceful, lovely way to spend some time, skip the bustle and take a stroll, through this unpretentious garden space, and take a bit of that home, with you. Also, the name made me curious. So, look it up. It's hecka cool.

I picked out some herbs, a sun gold tomato plant and a large Mexican oregano which I haven't found anywhere else in town. I saw many things that are on my list to procure on a day when I can talk with someone. Friendly, but not pushy employees give you storage to browse. No prices to be seen, which is a detractor from shopping within ones budget. At least, I didn't see any? (Walk around to the front, facing the street, to get in.) Dru seemed very friendly and easy-going. He greeted me when I walked in, introduced himself with a handshake, and encouraged me to wander around to whichever parts of the area pulled me to them. It was a lovely place to wander up and down the aisles and between the plantings. It's mostly outdoors, but didn't feel overwhelmingly warm because there was plenty of shade, mostly in the form of trees and bushes. I felt like I could have quite happily brought a book, found a comfy spot in the shade, and enjoyed a peaceful afternoon surrounded by desert-friendly plants. Beyond the great atmosphere and welcoming vibe, I very much enjoyed seeing the propagations Dru had going, as well as the variety of cactus and other succulents, and even a few tropical houseplants. I had gone to pick up a water-wise plant to fill in a hanging basket, and ended up with three happy, healthy-looking jelly bean sedums, as well as a store credit to give as a birthday gift for a relative who hasn't been to Drutopia before and would LOVE it. Once I have the sedums planted and out in the sun, they should fill in the basket nicely, hanging over the edges and turning red in the sunshine. At the end, Dru thanked me, shook my hand again, and asked if he could take a photo of me with my plants. (He has a lot of fun photos of customers on his Instagram, so I'm assuming it was for that.) All in all a wonderful experience, and a shop I will definitely visit next time I'm in the area. Tip: Some plants are priced, but others are not. If you're not sure, ask Dru and he'll let you know.
