The selection is never ending and you can find many native plants that are difficult to find, elsewhere, and impossible to find at the large chain nurseries. I've ended up taking so many plants back to larger places (that I won't name, but we all know) because, even when buying them at whatever price, at the time, I already know that they won't last the year that they are guaranteed for. It always seems like such a waste. Built from the ground up, it's nice to go somewhere that you know isn't just a gear in the big box monster machine. Gardening was one of the things that got me through a cancer journey, and yesterday, as I put my hands in sand and soil, I watched a hummingbird light on one of my favorite flowering bushes, that Jared, the owner, helped me pick out, near the beginning. It was little when I chose it, but now is almost five feet high. I don't remember it's name, but if I were to show anyone who works at Spadefoot, they would know what plant it is, where it can thrive, what care it will require, and when it will bloom. With some thought and planning, one can literally have a rotating buffet of blossoming food for all the critters, without adding any dyes, sugars, or plastic feeders. Nature does it all. I think of this nursery, every single morning, when I see this particular bush, which feeds the bees, hummers... Offers shade and shelter to those without wings, and other wonders, and remember how all things are connected. If you want a peaceful, lovely way to spend some time, skip the bustle and take a stroll, through this unpretentious garden space, and take a bit of that home, with you. I recently called old Pueblo cactus when our beloved saguaro began to appear ill. I received a…read moreprompt response from the reception and sent out the field manager within days. Jalon was wealth of knowledge in regard to the saguaros health. Unfortunately I got the bad news that it wasn't looking good for my cactus. However, Old Pueblo Cactus offers removal service and they sell a large variety of cacti as a replacement. Jalon, the field service manager offered us different options at different price points for something to go in its place. They can place extremely large saguaros (with multiple arms) either by truck or crane if it is in a difficult to access area. They will arrange the crane service and take care of everything. We may have underestimated how much time then saguaro had, And it ended up falling over on its own, almost like it knew we were planning a removal! So, we actually didn't not end up having to cut it down. They have a beautiful nursery and holding lot with very healthy specimens to choose from.

We were still browsing all of the beautiful, well-cared for plants and sent him on his way. About 10 minutes later, we had some questions about specific varieties and waved him down. He was happy to help us and very knowledgeable. Plants selected, we saw two pots we might want to purchase, but price tags had gone missing. The team member tracked down the price for them and, when we decided to purchase them, loaded them onto our cart. Checkout was a breeze, and the same helpful team member helped load everything in to our car. The lovely Julia Child roses now are next to my patio in the pretty pots. We were given thorough care instructions, and I anticipate enjoying their beautiful scented blooms all season.

Jeff grows all of his plants from seeds, outside, so you can be confident that anything you purchase will be successful in the Tucson climate. 3. Jeff has a great eye for color and shape. He builds his inventory by journeying around the Southwestern US in AZ and CA. He has a beautifully curated selection of plants that are arid-adapted and won't over-burden the water supply. 4. Jeff takes the time to teach you how to care for your new plant. You can trust his advice! I'm normally a plant killer, but thanks to Jeff I've kept a pot of bushop's caps alive for six months now.
