Love this place ! Help was great and so accommodating! Really have to see this and the great prices for all the hard work and knowledge they have !!

I've visited several nurseries since I moved to Tucson. They carry the plants you would expect to see for this region. Plants for the Southwest is on another level. It's like visiting a botanical garden. There is a jaw-dropping variety of incredibly beautiful and exotic plants from the tiny to monster size. Prices are quite high but this nursery is where you come to find that one plant which can anchor your home landscape visually. I walked away with a small almost white cactus from the Chihuahua region of Mexico. As I have my front and rear yards de-uglified -- I'll claim the copyright to that new word -- in the coming months, I'll be sure that my little cactus has a special place to grow and shine. When you visit Plants for the Southwest, you may miss it like I did. It blends in. Once you walk through the entrance, though, prepare to be enchanted.

Woooo!

My partner told me about this place. It was a popular place for out-of-state visitors. Here was our experience. EXPERIENCE: Parking: Neighborhood street parking. It wasn't a busy place so we didn't have any issues finding a spot. Feels: It's in your non-touristy area of Tuscon so it can easily be missed. Plants: Plenty of plants! From succulents, houseplants, garden plants, and produce. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Awesome! Friendly people, can't complain. OVERALL: 5 Stars. I appreciate this spot - from the variety of plants to the pleasant zen. Many items are on the high end but it does reflect the demographics of OC. For plant enthusiasts, put this on your list! Tips: - Discount if you pay in cash. - Follow their websites for updates on events/workshops!

Some of their larger plants. These were just stunning in person!

This place is amazing. Some of the most beautiful cacti I've ever seen and all sizes. Staff is awesome and their six-toed tabby is adorable not to mention the lab that was living his (her?) best life ever, just sunbathing and being loved on. Apparently they grow from seed, which is mind-blowing to say the least. All the plants looked well cared for and prices are definitely reasonable but the greatest asset is the staff who is patient and willing to talk to you and answer your questions. They clearly love desert plants and are walking encyclopedias! With Tucson's water shortages, it's always a good idea to stick to native plants in home landscaping so for a huge variety and some great tips, this is the place to come to. Oh, and free repotting if you buy a plant and a pot and they have some beautiful handmade ones!

I found this large city lot of low water vegetation, on the north side of Grant, by accident. I was immediately impressed by the variety of New and Old World desert plants. Go to Desert Survivors for indigenous only Tucson plants but go here for access to cosmopolitan xeriscape plants. I love this place.

My favorite nursery! They grow their own plants, are very knowledgeable and helpful. The propagate lots of rare caudiciforms that are difficult to find elsewhere. Their selection is incredible. The prices on their locally made ceramic pots is very reasonable. I love their shop.

OK, if you want a "real" cactus and succulent nursery owned by just two people this is THE place to go.

The selection will knock your socks off! Bring water and an umbrella. I will be back with my credit card! Well worth every penny and I had many left over. No puedo decir suficientes palabras amables sobre este negocio y todo el personal! He visitado varias veces e incluso he traído a la familia para disfrutar de un día de tranquilidad. Verdaderamente agradecido.

I wasn't even shopping for outdoor plants, but it was clear they have a huge variety if you are. It's the kind of place where you walk past section after section and keep thinking, "Oh wow... they have that too?" They also have a great selection of pots, so it's dangerously easy to convince yourself you need "just one more plant" because you already found the perfect pot for it. Definitely a fun place to explore if you love plants... or if you accidentally keep becoming a plant person.

The staff was friendly and responsive, and happy to help while I was looking around. One of the highlights was definitely the koi ponds--they were really cool to watch, and spotting the turtle hanging out with the koi was an unexpected bonus. They also have a nice variety of pots and plant accessories, so it's easy to find everything you need in one stop. Great plants, great atmosphere, and even some entertaining aquatic roommates. Definitely worth a visit!

The "Weird Plants" sign…read morethey had on the sidewalk in front of their store drew us in, it was a last minute decision to pull in and check it out on the way to our actual destination. I am glad we stopped in! They had a fantastic selection of plants along with a wide variety of needs like soils, grow lights, pots and more. The prices were great as well, both my mother and I ended up buying several plants and my mom even had a few planted in store as they had a deal where if you bought a plant & a pot, they would repot the plant into the pot for you. They also sold Koi fish in different sizes for anyone looking to start a pond in their yard. We live up in Phoenix, but this store would be worth the drive to go down and visit to pick up some more plants when we are looking for them. Our plants made it back on the trip perfectly fine & they still look fantastic. I can't wait to see their growth, and I will be trying out an indoor plant fertilizer I bought at Ecogro to help some of my other indoor plants flourish as well. If you are a plant lover, I highly recommend checking this spot out.

(Walk around to the front, facing the street, to get in.) Dru seemed very friendly and easy-going. He greeted me when I walked in, introduced himself with a handshake, and encouraged me to wander around to whichever parts of the area pulled me to them. It was a lovely place to wander up and down the aisles and between the plantings. It's mostly outdoors, but didn't feel overwhelmingly warm because there was plenty of shade, mostly in the form of trees and bushes. I felt like I could have quite happily brought a book, found a comfy spot in the shade, and enjoyed a peaceful afternoon surrounded by desert-friendly plants. Beyond the great atmosphere and welcoming vibe, I very much enjoyed seeing the propagations Dru had going, as well as the variety of cactus and other succulents, and even a few tropical houseplants. I had gone to pick up a water-wise plant to fill in a hanging basket, and ended up with three happy, healthy-looking jelly bean sedums, as well as a store credit to give as a birthday gift for a relative who hasn't been to Drutopia before and would LOVE it. Once I have the sedums planted and out in the sun, they should fill in the basket nicely, hanging over the edges and turning red in the sunshine. At the end, Dru thanked me, shook my hand again, and asked if he could take a photo of me with my plants. (He has a lot of fun photos of customers on his Instagram, so I'm assuming it was for that.) All in all a wonderful experience, and a shop I will definitely visit next time I'm in the area. Tip: Some plants are priced, but others are not. If you're not sure, ask Dru and he'll let you know.

We purchased some outdoor chairs and a custom wood coffee table from these folks a few months ago…read more Friendly staff and nice selection of quality outdoor patio furniture. Our sales person had a little trouble adding up the ticket, and after we got home I noticed the coffee table legs were attached with short self tapping sheet metal screws if you can believe that. Easy enough to fix and I'm not going to hold these issues against them. If you are looking for higher quality than what you'll find at the big national box stores, then definitely check out this locally owned shop. They have a decent selection of better quality furniture. Naturally it's priced a little higher than the cheap stuff, but in my experience I get a lot more enjoyment out of the higher end products. As for the one-star reviewer who was upset about some groupon issue - always read the fine print when dealing with Groupon and be absolutely sure you know what you are buying. If you fail to do that, don't take it out on the store. Give yourself one star for not paying attention.

I assumed it was a terrible manufacturer. We later learned we received a "bad batch". The manufacturer (Sunset West, Laguna Collection) failed to cure the powder coating. When we complained they replaced a couple pieces but refused to replace the entire set. The remaining pieces are now showing the same paint peeling. This furniture that sits under cover should have lasted a lifetime! We were long time customers that have spent thousands of dollars. I will never purchase from them again. Disappointed!!!!
