Unless you are planting or moving a Saguaro with no time schedule - DO NOT USE THIS THESE GUYS. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE AND DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES. I hired them a year ago to work with our landscaping company to provide larger cactus for our new build. Bad mistake. They delayed the project for months because they never showed up when they said they would, and finally we had to finish the project without all their cactus being planted. When they were finally done, they presented me with a bill that was 30% higher than they originally quoted. I reluctantly paid it to ensure that they would honor their warranties. Again, a bad mistake. Now, almost a year later a couple thousand $ worth of their plants are dead and they will not answer phone calls or texts. Asked for 3 saguaros, 4' tall, planted on hillside in my front yard. Dealt with Ricardo and Wendy. They showed up with the 3 cactus on time and worked their buts off! Worked very hard at packing the dirt correctly in 100 degree heat! Was worried as we had 30 mph wind storm that night but the cactus stood proudly. Would highly recommend and will use again. I recently contacted Paco to help with a Saguaro cactus. He had it advertised online and I had been looking for something similar, he offered a great deal if we would help dig and replant the cactus which I had no problem, my friend and I helped them and saved hundreds of dollars by doing so. We are in love with our new cactus and the whole neighborhood is obsessed with our 20 ft cactus. I would highly recommend Paco for your cacti needs. We totally understand the ratings here from many people. We too had to remind them to come by and install our Saguaro and Ocotillo several times over the same amount of days. However, in the end, they delivered and were absolutely professional in every way. Detailed, meticulous and friendly; and threw in a few other succulents to make up for the delay. Luis and his team are a very small business and because of what they do, perhaps don't always communicate as promptly as we prefer in this day and age. Incredible services and prices. I thought they might be open on this Sunday. I drove there and it was closed. I emailed them and within minutes I received a reply that they now only meet through appointments, but we could meet in 20 minutes. I met Paco and his young son. I still can't believe what happened next : I chose 2 Saguaro cactus that were in the ground in their nursery, Paco took them out, brought them to my house with some sand/wash material, dug the holes, planted them in my yard, reset the gravel around them and it looks like these Saguaro were born here. Paco is super friendly, knowledgeable and smart. I am so happy, you have no idea. To wake up now and look out the window and see Saguaro, it is a dream come true. Luis was the one to call my husband and said they had cash. Luis is not the one who came and got the cactus. We were told that they would Zelle us the payment that night. This company got the cactus and have not paid for it! It's been months, more than 6. There is an excuse every time I contact them. I have every text message where Luis states payment will be made and then nothing happens. So, in my opinion, and probable the laws, they stole the cactus from us! This was not their first time they have owed us money for months, but by God it is the last time. I will keep sending them text messages until they make the payment they owe us. One of the last text messages I received from the owner/ operator was "I wont forge about you" after about five no shows on scheduled dates. Now non-responsive. Undependable and unfortunate. Nice guy with a promising business. Flawed by bad business practices, and broken promises. If your timing just happens to align with his schedule, you will most likely have a positive experience. My Argentine Saguaro fell. Ricardo replied quickly, asked for pictures and told me it could be saved. 2 days later, Victor and his crew replanted it, protected it against disease and stabilized it with great care. Contact them they came gave me a price and went back on their price not reliable or professional. I didn't used them .

They seem nice & professional at first, but don't trust anything they say. If you aren't spending $10k+ w/ them, you are ignored & treated as trash. They will make a lot of promises-but not deliver. I've reached out many times & made appointments w/ both brothers, that they have broken for months.(Yes I said months. It's been over 3 & 1/2months now) They'd say they were coming to my town & bringing my 5 cactuses for install, only to have a no call no show on the day promised-a date that they themselves had set. I would clear my schedule, cancel my plans & wait all day for entire weekends for them to be here-then nothing. They'd bail & make me chase after them through multiple texts, calls, and FB msgs. I am understanding & extremely patient. People get busy. So I gave them other chances. Both Vic and Ric had let me know when they'd be here, and have not shown. I decided to give them 1 last chance. I kindly let them know I needed my next appt w/ them to be set in stone. Well they let me know that solid date. I was relieved. I was finally getting them here & can move my other projects along. I adjusted my much needed vacation & even came home 2 days early, since it was for sure this time. Even scheduled my boulder & rock deliveries around that day & scheduled my new custom fence install around them actually coming after months of waiting. It was 100%. Well....I hadn't heard from them, so on my drive home from my trip, since they are coming tomorrow, I contacted Ric. He writes me back with a lame excuse. Says he's going to Texas and tried to put me off another week. Then offers me a garbage consolation prize of a free barrel-which was insulting. I can get that at HD. I don't want a barrel cactus. I needed them to be here like they promised. How long have you known you were going to Texas instead of our appt? You didn't think to let me know the second you knew this? Of course not. You wouldn't have said anything-you would have just not shown up like the 4+ other times-I had to reach out at 9pm the night before the date you yourself had set. I was going to populate my entire front & backyard w/ cactus installed by them. But I guess higher paying jobs win. I can't remember the last time a service made me feel more disrespected & cost me more money & time because of their rudeness & lies. Summer's coming & I'm months behind on multiple projects because of the domino effect they caused. Both brothers. Ricardo Chavez & Vic & their various family/friends spam post all over FB and Craigslist. Stay far away from this cluster of unorganized uncaring fools. They laughably try to expand their service to areas like Yuma when it's clearly beyond their competence. If you have deadlines or a project that is time sensitive, this is not your crew. My husband and I contact this company to come take a look at some cactuses on our property. They were supposed to come out even gave us an arrival time didn't show up without a call to let us know they weren't coming out. We decided to give them another chance they were Supposed to come out today at 2 o'clock and never did again. absolutely poor communication with their customers. I do not recommend!! read more

We recently had an 8 ft saguaro and two ocotillos installed. We were going to go with a 5 ft and Victor had picked a couple great options for us, but then we saw the 8ft and fell in love. Message for Ricardo...after speaking with several neighbors who have experience with your company, it is apparent you might benefit from being aware that your business is accumulating a growing number of unfavorable reviews on social media. Same applies to word of mouth among residents of SBR, SB and other local communities adjacent to Catalina. The negatives seem to far outweigh any positives and the trend seems to indicate you're losing traction with regard to unfavorable opinions of your business integrity. Biggest concerns are lack of follow through, broken promises, not fulfilling replacement guarantees, as well as not fixing damages to plants and property caused by your workers. It was suggested by several that you be offered feedback so you might correct the problem areas ... for what it's worth to you. read more

Our saguaro cactus was starting to lean a bit and we needed a company to straighten it out. We seen Southwest Cactus working in the neighborhood and stopped by to talk with Luis and Paco. They were the nicest. They immediately went to see our cactus and said they will be over as soon as they completed their current job to fix the leaning cactus. They straightened out our cactus with no issues. I would highly recommend this company for all your cactus needs. read more

UNACCEPTABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Luis Chavez, the owner of Southwest Cactus has demonstrated to myself and several other customers, that the normal way he does business, is to just not show up for appointments he has scheduled or call to say he can't make it. Even though he missed 2 appointments with me, as I was looking at buying an Ocotillo from him, I thought, he's a young man trying to run a business, so I'd give him another chance and I'd do business with him. This was a mistake because of the following: On 6/25/22 Luis planted a 20' Ocotillo in my yard with a 2 yr warranty. 8/23 I sent a text to Luis that it was leaning could he come over to fix it. 8/30 no response, I sent another text saying no response yet and asking if I'd made a mistake doing business with him. 9/15 no response so I sent Luis another text. Ocotillo still leaning. I'd like to hear your plan and schedule to straighten it out by 9/19. If it's not straighten out by 10/1, my plan is to hire someone else, send you the bill and take you to small claims court if you don't pay me. I'll also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and write a very dissatisfied review on your web site. 9/15 Received text from Luis wanted me to send him a picture which I did. He scheduled Fri Sept 30th between 9-10 to straighten it. 9/30 Luis didn't show up or call. 10/2 Still no communication from Luis. 10/2 I sent text to Desert Rain Landscaping 10/3 Rec'd text from Desert Rain Landscaping they could take care of it 10/4 10/4 9:00AM Desert Rain Landscaping arrived and straighten the Ocotillo. As I stated in my 9/15 email to Luis, I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and taking Southwest Cactus to small claims court. If you expect the contractor you hire to be on time and keep to their schedule, this is not the company for you to do business with. read more

Great options, care-filled install.

We had a garage construction project going on. At the last minute the contractors informed us we needed to have a large toothpick cactus moved. I called them about 4:00 pm and they arrived about 7:30. They worked in the cold and dark to move our super heavy and super sticky cactus. And at a moments notice! Cactus safely moved to avoid construction destruction! AND just really nice fellas. read more
