Yellow rose bush with fungus. Potting soil was also purchased at Green Things.
Dawn S.

Just called to inquire about a possible warranty on a rose bush that I bought less than 6 months ago that has developed a fungus. The man that answered the phone was incredibly rude and could not get off the phone fast enough. He pretty much hung up on me after telling me there was no warranty and my efforts to save the plant were all wrong. This is the third time I have encountered poor customer service at Green Things. The employees are not happy and it shows. Three strikes, you're out. I will take my business elsewhere.

Green Things is my go-to place in Tucson for all my green-thumb needs. Every time I pick up plants here, they're in great shape. I just recently repotted a monstera I got over a year ago that is absolutely huge now. This past weekend, I picked up a philodendron, a spider plant, and a snake plant and they're all doing great so far. The staff are super knowledgeable and incredibly insightful when helping you choose the right plants to fit your needs and wants. The plants are reasonably priced, with the more rare plants going for a higher price. Definitely check them out!

First off their selection of gifts and plants made my heart happy. Started my little plants at home and looking for good soil. The staff is what every local business should strive for. Helpful, knowledgeable, and simply looking to help you in your gardening experience wherever you may be. Bought seeds and starter plants and it didn't cost me a fortune. They have every plant, herb, seed you can think off. Cherry on top was the knowledge I gained in helping me grow my little plants. BTW I'm no green thumb but Im confident as I move foward. Thank you..thank you. Im sure I'll be back!! Their little gift store is just the cutestes especially if you are looking for gifts for folks who do not live in AZ.

In my city search for creosote plants in Tucson they are here in stock. Found by a phone call, they are setting aside 2 for me now. See the desk ast the main Casita. Ok they had two ready in the cart. No military discount here.

Very poor service never contacted me nor did they want to make things better. I would not highly recommend this place. It's overpriced and it's not guaranteed.

Love this plant nursery that includes several green houses and pottery options. Prices were reasonable and options galore. Everything from tropical plants, native plants and decent selection of yard supplies. Staff were friendly and helpful

Looking for a job? This place is definitely NOT where you want to apply! Let me break down my visit to Green things and what i experienced as someone looking for a second job. I called ahead to ask if they were hiring and they said yes please apply with indeed. I told them indeed does not work for me as I've never received any reply's from business owners with that website. I was given an application to fill out and told by the manager that they needed to attend a meeting. As I filled out the application I was hit with loads of questions that sent out red flags for me. I asked an employee, and a few others about the questions and many were new hires, no more than 3 months at the job. There's clearly high turnover over here. Attached to this review are photos of the application and the questions they were asking on it. Based on these questions, green things wants is to pay workers minimum wage to be: experts in horticulture, be delivery drivers (possibly out of state even), movers, cashiers, secretaries, have irrigation expertise, participate in farmers markets, be a teacher and lecturer, along with many other "hats". Finally, I'd like to quote the stark red flag questions. "Are you willing to participate in an agressive training program?" Implying they are willing to be abusive to their employees? "Can you take the blame for damaging or losing tools and equipment?" Implying they may just pick someone they don't like to blame for breaking a piece of equipment so they have cause for firing them. "Will you work outside winter and summer? Sun, heat, wind, dust, rain, cold, mud?" More like, are you willing to put yourself in danger of the elements to earn us money? "Can you be asked to work in more productive and efficient ways without feeling pressured and stressed" Soooo, are you asking if I'll be okay with being micromanaged? Are you asking if you can push me to my emotional limits so that you can profit from my burnout? "Why should I hire you?" you clearly are hemorrhaging employees due to your horrible behavior towards your employees. Don't act like your business can't go under, it absolutely will if you keep up this kind of self entitlement. Finally; treat the workers here good, they clearly have vampires for bosses who will only suck them dry for their own benefit

Thank you Jess for helping us select the perfect dwarf Mexican lime tree.

22SEP2022: Fairly new to the area, patronaged Green Things seeking a dwarf Mexican Lime tree. Fortunately, we came across Jessica who took us straight to the section. While walking, I shared that we had an unfinished lot in Tucson and Jessica politely explained the layout of the nursery and resident expertise at Green Things to meet our future requirements. She then assisted us in selecting the perfect plant, citrus soil and navigated us through the checkout process quickly and efficiently. It was like having our own personal shopper, a true VIP experience. The nursery is well laid out, and while nurseries are a competitive industry in Tucson - Green Things clearly recognizes the value of that front end customer interface. Jessica / Green Things, as Arnold would say - "I will be back".

Green Things is one of my favorite places in Tucson! I have a giant garden of 4 large garden beds, 9 fruit trees, and a whole series of pots! You can usually find us at Green Things getting something at least once per week. In addition to all the veggies we grow, we also decorate with edible plants throughout our house - cherry tomatoes hanging in our front pots, edible hibiscus, and buzz button flowers in front. We even have strawberries in our mailbox planter for the neighborhood kiddos to pick and eat. Green Things has everything you need regardless of what you want to grow - soil or hydroponic, indoor and outdoor. The best time to get plant starts for your summer garden is in the early spring - that's when the starts are the smallest and when they have the best selection. As the season goes on, the plants get more expensive (they're bigger) and the selection goes down. This year I also talked with some of their staff and decided to try growing Chardonnay and Merlot grapes - they're doing really well! I'm planning to plant more of them along my entire back wall next season. Thanks for the tip, Green Things! Whether you want to nerd-out on your garden or just want to decorate with some pots and flowers, from fruit trees to flowers, Green Things is a super fun place to visit. Just be sure to wear a shade hat and drink plenty of water because it can get hot out there while you're shopping for your plants and pots.

Green Things is my favorite plant nursery in town! It always feels like an adventure when I visit and I never leave empty handed. My favorite room is the tropical room - their air plant selection is always so cool. The customer service is great and the plants offered are quality!

The pottery can be a little pricey, but we found some great orchid pots on sale so be sure to check the sale aisles.

I saw many things that are on my list to procure on a day when I can talk with someone. Friendly, but not pushy employees give you storage to browse. No prices to be seen, which is a detractor from shopping within ones budget. At least, I didn't see any? The nursery has a hippie layout ( don't expect ordered aisles ) and lots of funky touches (Buddha's, crystals, & more). Their on list of where to find local plantings.

(Walk around to the front, facing the street, to get in.) Dru seemed very friendly and easy-going. He greeted me when I walked in, introduced himself with a handshake, and encouraged me to wander around to whichever parts of the area pulled me to them. It was a lovely place to wander up and down the aisles and between the plantings. It's mostly outdoors, but didn't feel overwhelmingly warm because there was plenty of shade, mostly in the form of trees and bushes. I felt like I could have quite happily brought a book, found a comfy spot in the shade, and enjoyed a peaceful afternoon surrounded by desert-friendly plants. Beyond the great atmosphere and welcoming vibe, I very much enjoyed seeing the propagations Dru had going, as well as the variety of cactus and other succulents, and even a few tropical houseplants. I had gone to pick up a water-wise plant to fill in a hanging basket, and ended up with three happy, healthy-looking jelly bean sedums, as well as a store credit to give as a birthday gift for a relative who hasn't been to Drutopia before and would LOVE it. Once I have the sedums planted and out in the sun, they should fill in the basket nicely, hanging over the edges and turning red in the sunshine. At the end, Dru thanked me, shook my hand again, and asked if he could take a photo of me with my plants. (He has a lot of fun photos of customers on his Instagram, so I'm assuming it was for that.) All in all a wonderful experience, and a shop I will definitely visit next time I'm in the area. Tip: Some plants are priced, but others are not. If you're not sure, ask Dru and he'll let you know.

At a cursory glance the prices were better here than a lot of online businesses. I was looking for talavera address tiles and a holder. The shop has a great selection of numbered tiles but unfortunately they didn't have a high contrasty one I was looking for, but they did have the metal holders which I also needed. I bought the tiles from a different local store. Tip 1: Don't make the same mistake I made. If you buy them from somewhere else, bring them all in to try in the frame. That's because, the sizes and shapes of both the tiles and the holders are asymmetrical and it's a matter of trying to get the best fit. The lady that owns the store is very nice and helpful and will these things to you. Tip 2: Make sure you absolutely love what you are getting because once you buy it there are exchanges or store credit, no refunds. Tip 3: The opening and closing hours are not strictly adhered. I waited twice outside the store, once at opening and once 20 min after opening time and the store was not open. Reading other reviews I'm not the only person this happened too. It's the same with closing time. They may close up early. I would suggest calling ahead first so you don't waste your time driving like I did. This is the only reason I'm taking one star off.
