We have been using Terminix for years! We originally called them years ago for a house ant problem we couldn't get under control ourselves with ant baits and sprays purchased at a nearby hardware store. Once they started invading the kitchen I had enough! I love to cook, and that was absolutely disgusting! They came out and gave us pricing for what we were looking for. The plan we chose was quarterly service including spraying the perimeter of the house for pests, de-cobwebbing eaves and removing any wasp nests, and also treating inside the house when pests were present. They also set out spider and/or mouse traps if needed as part of the quarterly service. Within a few treatments we were very happy with the results. For the first year or two we had them come out more frequently for an "extra service", which they don't charge extra for. It's available every 30 days or so when the spray wears off. They'll come out more frequently for inside pests as well at no charge, as long as the pests are part of your quarterly plan. They sprays they use are pet friendly which was important to us with our two dogs. Their fees are affordable for us to keep pests away. We pay about $139 every 3 months, including taxes. It gives us peace of mind and frees us up from having to do it ourselves. They also have a website for customers to make appointments and pay their bill. Very convenient. My only issue is the turnover of service technicians. We had two technicians in the beginning for years, then it seemed like a new one at every service. The turnover has settled down some and we've had the same two for the last year or so. Overall we are very happy with this company. We have recommended them to a few of our neighbors who also seem happy with them. Would recommend. read more

I had an appointment set up today from 8 AM to 10 AM October 1. I get a text from an inspector employed by Terminix asking me to summarize the issue. I'm having.. that particular inspector ghost me, doesn't show up at all and wanting to communicate via text.. ( all the inspector had to do is show up and do their job .). All while I have an email saying an inspector would be here at the above given times. Now I get no inspectors on this post date and have to cancel my plans for October 2 because I have to reschedule again with Terminix. I've requested a different inspector. read more

Update: I was given a mattress cover after requesting one after every service and to their credit we haven't had any pest issues since. Everyone who came to service our house was kind and helpful outside of John. I still personally would never go back. ------ It started out great -- Jason and Dillon were awesome but then it went downhill quick. First of all, there is no local number or office you can contact. Any phone number I find leads me to the call center. That being said I have no local person to talk to about the fact that we still have yet to receive a mattress cover which is included in our contract. No one can tell me when they will get one in or why they have none on hand. Secondly, scheduling is a nightmare. Even though I have an account I have no way of scheduling new appointments and have to call every time. The call center has no access to local schedules, or if they do they don't share them. They also refuse to give me a number or email of the branch manager. Third, we have to be out of the house for hours at a time for treatment which is totally cool but not when the service provider shows up hours late. We work from home and it's incredibly disruptive to have to be gone 5-6 hours -- especially with our dog. And lastly, John made me very uncomfortable and if it weren't for our cameras I wouldn't have seen that he puttered around making himself look busy when really he went in and out of our house with no tools whatsoever. He kept messing with his pants and came out with his fly down which is just all kinds of weird. When he appeared to be done with our service he hung outside our house by his truck busying himself opening and closing the same door. Luckily I had his number and called to check in after seeing all this take place. He continually talked over me and was very dismissive. I called the call center (because again there is no local manager I can speak to) to request John not come back because he made me uncomfortable and was told there was no guarantee they could do that. negative stars is what this company needs. They should be reported to the Better Business Bureau for fraudulent business practices. It's nearly impossible to speak to a human, they funnel everything through a messaging system. Escalating is impossible, I was lied to about who a managing supervisor was. They missed several appointments we booked. They didn't do their job and didn't seem interested in helping to anything except come back and remove rats from a trap. They couldn't access the roof or fit through certain areas of a crawl space that the next company did with zero issues and a man that was 2x the size of the terminix employee. We fought for months to get our service cancelled and they finally did but then kept charging us. We had to cancel through our credit card company as Terminix was of zero help. read more

Scheduled an appointment and waited four days for the appointment and was given a window of between 10-12. After the appointment window came and went, I called the service guy (who texted me the night before and then ghosted me) and Terminex five times 5x and they could not tell me when their service person would be here or where he was or if he would show and offered to reschedule only the first time, but had no explanation of why he was not here during the scheduled appointment time and said that they couldn't reach him themselves after they called and emailed 3-4 times. This is incredibly unprofessional and Not something I would expect from such a large company. I missed work to be here for this appointment, waited all day, and rescheduled personal obligations so that someone would be here. I dont care if an estimate is free. I work and time is money and there is no value in a no show appointment. This company has a low rating for a reason. They should be bankrupt. No service and certainly no accountability. Why would you want these people removing your pests when they can't respond before they get paid!??? Can you imagine what happens after? Even if and when they do show up I'm not sure I would trust them with my home or any removal of pest given their unprofessionalism. Don't use them. read more

Contacted Terminix and was given a date and time to get an onsite estimate. They never showed up! Never bothered to call me! No respect for potential client so I would not hire them. There are plenty of other options available. Worst customer service there is to ghost your customer! read more

I made the mistake of trusting what the initial Terminix "Inspector", said upon our initial appointment. I unwittingly provided payment info up front, and he withdrew funds electronically before doing anything at all. When the crew showed up the next day, they did not know what work was agreed upon, they had not talked to or confirmed anything with their own prior day "Inspector", they did not come at all prepared with basic tools/equipment to do the agreed upon scope of work, (not enough screens, not enough traps, a lower quality vapor barrier than agreed upon, and no bait for the traps). However, they did arrive in a large box truck and a couple newer, fully logo-emblazed, pick-up trucks to give off an impression to the neighborhood that they are part of a tight, well-run, professional operation. They spent minimal time on site and did a very substandard job; however, they did get all suited up and stood around outside in the street with respirators hanging from their necks in order to create the illusion of professionalism. The "Inspector", who said he would be available 24/7 on call, did not return any of my messages/calls, instead briefly emailing me a short note that he would "take care" of the refund for the portion of the scope of work that the crew said they would not be able to do because it involved actual use of shovels and physical effort. This scam outfit has several phone numbers, but none seemingly go directly to the actual physical office location. Many apparently go to a regional switchboard or clearing house where you get a lot of verbal clichés (run around) and no real action. According to the three-person crew, here for a nominal amount of time when compared to what this fiasco cost me in dollars, this outfit has changed physical locations a few times (from Oregon City to Beaverton and now Vancouver). IN SUMMARY - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE THE WORST. I should have definitely done more research on them and looked at their YELP review score of 1.7 out of 5 based on 67 reviews, before engaging them. read more

Unable to give 0 stars or I would. Scheduled inspector in a 4 hour window, drove two hours to my beach house to meet them. Called within the window twice and got updates and customer service assured me they were sending messages to the inspector and that they were on track and would call when they were on their way. 2.5 hours after the end of the arrival window they were a NO SHOW, NO CALL. Texted them back using their link expressing my dissatisfaction and all I got was an apology and a promise that a manager was going to call me. NO CALL, NO EXPLANATION AND NO ATTEMPT TO RESCHEDULE OR OTHERWISE FIX THE SITUATION. I waited all day for nothing and had to drive home 2.5 hours and the termites are still enjoying their buffet. Subsequently I've received three texts asking that I rate their "service." Each time I ask them if they are kidding me and each time someone answers the text asking AGAIN for my name, address etc and promises a call back regarding this situation. I'm sure you can guess... no calls. Now they say it's the weekend so I should not expect a call til next week. I hope the termites hear this and take the weekend off as well. The company has selected the perfect name for themselves - TERMINIX. It's not the bugs that are being terminated, it's the future of the company for their epically horrible service. I scheduled an appointment for a free inspection. No one ever showed up, and I never received a call or email to explain why. I contacted customer service, and they rescheduled my appointment. Once again, no one shows up or texts/calls to inform me of their status. I contact customer service again. They tell me they cannot do raccoon removal in this region, even though their website says otherwise. So instead of letting me know they can't provide this service, this company decided to ghost me and give me the run-around. Do not work with them in the Portland region. read more

This review is for the PDX branch. We needed some termite treatment on my late father-in-laws home we are selling. They came during the window they gave (great so far) for the quote. This person was nice and professional, had great communication. For the service, I was told they might make a Saturday and didn't, but that for sure would there by Monday. We are on a tight timeline as we are now having to file an additional addendum for the sale of the home based around this service. Tech arrives Monday and calls me for the lock box code, the service person said I can get part of this done today and the other part we have to schedule. I said we scheduled everything to be done today, long story short, after me pulling it out of him, their truck broke down to be able to do the termite part. They found some carpenter ants during their inspection so apparently he came to spray for ants and have only one truck for all of PDX to treat actual termites. The company is literally called Terminix and you have one truck for all of PDX? He couldn't give me a date (was not apologetic, which to be fair isn't his fault the truck was broke, but that I had to pull it out of him why we didn't get same day service like they said they would do and knowing we are on a tight time crunch not to mention a little customer service skill goes a long way ) so after a couple days they said they would come out by end of week and did. Things happen, but how do you not have a back up for a job like this that is tight on a schedule and that your company is named after? Frustrating to say the least, another extension for our buyers and Terminix came out to finish up. This tech was good and had good communication. Maybe just caught them on a off week. This aside, I told them specifically said we are selling the home, we do not want autopay or continued monthly or annual service. It's a one and done job. Spent 20 mins today taking my "account" off auto pay and reoccurring service. If you are on a time crunch, I would call someone else. read more

Terminex made 2 appointments that were confirmed for an inspection for a rodent problem. Both appointments were for a "window" from 8-10 am and were no shows. Customer service was VERY SORRY, but unable to even contact the manager for the branch except by email to find out what happened. Both times, I called and asked a supervisor to be involved. I never received phone calls back or any other communication. I thought that using a national company with great ratings would mean good customer service. It was terrible. read more

Horrific experience all around. I requested my service be cancelled yesterday, and they decided to charge me for quarterly service 3 weeks early after I requested to cancel, I'm sure that's legal! Save yourself the trouble, the only thing they did was lay out $10 of traps I could have bought on Amazon. Did not check on or rebait any traps. Did not do a home inspection, did not look in the crawl space or attic. Caught them in multiple lies. Still unsure what I paid for, but customer service is bitchy and dismissive. Called the local phone number on a Thursday stating I needed a pest inspection for my new VA loan. Asked how much it would be, and received my first hint that I had reached a call center, when she said it depends on the location as it varies across the country. Asked if they could have someone over on Friday, as my loan processor was waiting on it. Was told they would put it in a message to the local inspection tech, and they would call back. Waited until the following Tuesday, no call. So I called again. Was told they had input the request in the system incorrectly, so the local location didn't know they were supposed to call. Was told they would input it correctly, and they had set an appointment for the tech to come to my house on Friday between 8 and 12, but someone would call and confirm. No call by Thursday afternoon, so I called again for confirmation. Was told they would definitely be there Friday. Waited...and no one showed up. Called again (call #4) to find out what happened. Again was told the request was input to the system incorrectly. Someone would be at the house between 3 and 5. NO SHOW!!! If I could give a "no stars" rating I would. Edit to add that after she had the drywall repaired for her ceiling, the repair guy showed her that the squirrels had dug through the ceiling so much over the past year (in which Teeminix did nothing) that the drywall was two sheets of paper thin. I made a service call for minor problems that I am having outside of my home. Since it is not my regular service, different serviceman showed up. His name is Joseph White. When he saw me at my front door. He greet me with smile and he introduce to me very clearly and why he was here for. It seems it is very right thing to do but after Covid 19, nobody does that anymore and it seems norm became kind of out of service. Then he took time to listen to our concerns and gave us suggestions how to prevent them from reoccurring in the future while he was spraying the outside my home. Then he even suggested to spray the kitchen so that the bugs do not get into our inside of our house. Well what really is a better Service than this. He made our service call really easy and simple. I think Mr. White really make the difference Terminix from other company out there. He really made our day and that is anther reason to choose Terminix over other company. They rarely complete the service as requested. If I try to help technicians live by coming out and walking through the list, they are rude. Currently, I just let them do incomplete service and keep rescheduling follow ups until the service is complete. This current service is now going on three visits+ to complete simple tasks. At least it is easy to schedule follow ups on their website. I guess that would account for the one star. I cannot imagine, with this kind of service, this company will be in business long. The extra visits don't cost me anything, I live far out in the country outside of Portland and gas ain't cheap, and the technicians don't seem to be able to get it right or accept any help, soooo... I guess good luck with that business model? *this last technician was the first one who was good. Review based on their door to door sales practices. Had one of their sales guys come to our door the other day. Rang the bell which has a HUGE "No Soliciting" sign directly next to it. I open the door and he is acting like he is looking away (i.e. Clear to me he is making it look like he didn't notice the sign). I immediately point to the sign and politely say sorry no soliciting. He jumps in and says "I was talking to your neighbors......" And I say again, sorry, not to be rude but we get way too many door to door sales and our policy is no soliciting. He again starts with some spiel and I tap the sign and say no soliciting. He then has the gaul to say "But I'm not soliciting" to which I say "you've got to be kidding". He turns and walks away shaking his head like I'm the jerk. So tell me Terminix, why would I use you if these are your tactics? read more

I recently thought I could have a bug infestation and was searching the web for information. I came across Terminex, it stated they'd come out and do an inspection . I called and explained my concerns and the representative was extremely kind and understanding. She told me that the first available would be five days out. I accepted the time and the date, even though that was much further out than I wanted to and fear of this possible bug infestation. Two days before I received a text, reminding me of the appointment time I did call to confirm spoke to them made sure that we were all on the same page about what was happening and they did confirm. I received a text the morning of the appointment confirming that they would be there between 145 and 3 PM.. I waited until 415 thinking possibly they could just be running late when no one showed no one called. No one texted. I reached out to Terminex to confirm what was going on.. the representative looked into it so that she saw the appointment. She wasn't sure what was happening and why no one had showed up. She would reach out to the local area office and send them an email and someone would get back to me. I did explain to her the situation and I'd already waited five days and I've been trying to resolve the issue by myself but really needed a professional to come out and take a look and resolve the issue or give me the opinion of how to take care of it. She apologized since someone would be getting back to me. It is now been another day. No word from Terminix. I'm quite disappointed with Terminex and definitely will not be using them again. I guess this is why you should always support small local businesses. Terminix must be a large enough company that they're not worried about receiving new customers. read more

I spent an hour on the phone scheduling it and signing documents via my email for them to tell me I never had an appointment I don't have my time valuable I hope take care of my mother this time has hindered my whole day I will never recommend this service to anyone in the state of Oregon. To add insult to injury, their telephone numbers only reach an out-of-state call center who then put you on hold for literally a half hour and still no answer.Their advertisement of 24/7 assistance is a complete farce. Terminix has provided us with poor workmanship when we hired them to insulate under our home. I don't look in my crawlspace often, so when I did a few months following the insulation install, I was surprised to see the insulation was falling down. I called Terminix, they sent a tech to "fix"it. Originally, they had used string to hold it up. The "fix it" guy used wood strips to hold it up. It looked better when he got done. A little while later, I looked under there and the insulation was falling down again. I looked at one of the pieces of wood laying on the ground and the guy had used 3/8" staples. After going through the 1/4" wood strip there was only about 1/8" left to grab any wood... Now Terminix says it's been too long and they didn't make enough money to be able to fix it, (they came up with the price). They also had to remove a piece of heating duct to get around better, I was assured it would be put back properly. I can see the duct sitting on the ground. I have a giant mess under our house now. :( A tech came out today to look at it. It seemed to me he was looking for anything to use as an excuse. He asked if the garage has mice, not in the 20+ yrs we've lived here (Garage is not connected to house anyway). When he looked in crawl space, he said the insulation was probably falling due to rodents. (I would believe this if it was an area or two, but it looks like it is All falling.) I informed him that we have had service with Terminix, which covers rodents for decades, so again, wouldn't this be on Terminix? He said: "Things have changed and it doesn't work that way." I have to add a note that my normal pest tech has been great, he is the reason I have kept the service as long as we have. read more

Very disappointed in what I thought to be a premier name in pest control. All scheduling is done through regional centers rather than dealing locally. Made the appointment for a free inspection on line for 8-10 AM. Communicated poorly to their local representative who thought 12-2. Received a clean bill of health and was told I would get an email confirmation as well as a proposal for future preventative service. I received no follow up at all. One request to the call center told me to expect a call from the technician in 24-48 hours. Nothing. Second call to corporate told me the same thing. Nothing. Tried to get the phone number to discuss directly with the local representative and was told they couldn't. Their report was especially important as it is a condition of sale for the home. Would NOT recommend under any circumstances. Follow up: After posting this review on Yelp I received an email from Terminix saying Michael W. would follow up with me. Never heard a word after that except for numerous emails asking me to use Terminix. Hired a local pest inspector that I could actually speak to and do business with. Their exclusion service to keep mice and rats out what is the worst experience I've ever had with any company. They guaranteed their work for one year and never once returned to my home or returned my phone calls. I had to hire a second service to come and remove dead rats from underneath my house. The service they performed was 100% unsuccessful. In fact it got much worse and caused A lot more property damage. I had to hire Ecogenix pest control to come and do the work that Terminix was not performing. Ecogenix was amazing and consistent. Terminex service and customer service for local Portland customers was absolutely horrible. I would never recommend them to anyone. I still have never received a refund for the $999.99 I spent. After calling every single week for over three months attempting to speak to a manager and still to this day never being able to talk to someone. Please do yourself a favor and call a different company. read more

I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! They use a 3rd party to send out marketing e-mails for them. I have received over 40 e-mails in a month since I moved into my new home. Nothing I can do to stop them - blocking, sending to spam, even setting up a rule - nothing works. I even called them and asked to be removed, the young lady said she did it and I am STILL getting daily e-mails. I am absolutely beside myself with the horrific customer service I have received from the Terminix corporation and their local Portland branch. On Monday, May 11, 2020, I made an appointment for a home inspection for Thursday, May 15, 2020 between 10am-12pm. When I called to check on the technician's eta at 11:36am, I was informed that the technician had instead put me on his schedule for Monday, May 18, 2020 between 12pm-2pm. At this point I had no recourse but to say "ok" and that I would see them on Monday instead. This was the first occasion that Terminix wasted a huge portion of my work day. Today (Monday, May 18, 2020), I took additional time off work to accommodate my appointment (12pm-2pm). I attempted four different calls to check the technician's eta and spent over an hour on hold cumulatively and was never once put in direct contact with the local office (on one of the calls I was hung up on after 13 minutes on hold). Neither the technician nor the scheduling supervisor bothered to call me despite the fact that they completely elapsed their time window and now I have wasted 2 work days waiting for a home inspection that never happened. I am absolutely shocked as I have never been treated like this by any company. Shame on you Terminix for having absolutely zero regard for my time and loss of income from taking off work to accommodate your schedule. I am writing this review because I literally have no recourse with the company and cannot even get contacted by the local affiliates. I hope that any person reading this review will learn from my mistakes and never attempt to do business with this outfit. Pure and simple this is disrespect of the highest magnitude and I am genuinely mortified to be treated this way. read more

So I needed to cancel an upcoming pest control service at my home. I called customer service, I will not name the company,Terminix, and proceeded to wait on hold. After 25 minutes a customer service rep answered and explained she had to transfer the call to the cancellation dept. After waiting another 20 minutes I got into my car while still on hold and drove to the address Terminix, the unnamed company had listed. While in route, customer rep 2 answered and also explained that I was being transferred over to cancellations. Now 65 minutes goes by, I'm still holding and I arrive at the listed address for the company I will not name, Terminix. Wait what? There is no Terminix at listed address? Just then and at 70 minutes into my call a rep with cancellations picks up and within a few minutes my up coming services is cancelled. Needles to say I will not ever call back the company I will not name, Terminix. read more
