The technician replied that he could visit on July 28, 2026, between 10 am and 12 pm, which I accepted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Following the initial call, I called the technician back to confirm that the house did not need to be vacated during the upcoming visit. These two calls are included in my call history. Imagine my surprise upon receiving the report that service was completed on July 25. Service should not have been completed, as I was not present during the technician's visit. I am the customer; I paid for this expensive treatment. I moved to a house that had an existing contract with Terminix for annual termite inspection/service so I kept it. But just getting them to come out for a service appointment was terrible and enough to quit. First time they said they would arrive between 1pm-3pm, and didn't come until 6:45pm when I wasn't available, so they didn't have access to the basement which is where I need them to check. No call to give a heads up they would be late or anything like that. Then I rescheduled for another day when I would be home, and they just simply didn't show up for that appointment at all. Although we have continued to pay, they have not done their part to treat--they do come out once a year but does absolutely nothing. At one point, they would place sticks that they would come back to check but that stopped many years ago. Recently, a neighbor had an infestation and we saw a swarm in our driveway so we called them to come and check. They have repeatedly sent the Pest Technician who cannot verify or treat termites. Trying to charge me for services not provided. On 12/10 we had Terminix come out to the house. Service provider arrived late, and then spend maybe 10 minutes in the house and laid one trap before telling us that we were going to need to get a second appointment for someone to tell us where/how mice were coming into the house. Then he would come back and lay traps, etc. Made the second appointment, cancelled plans--second guy did not show up at all, was "running behind". On neither 12/09 or 12/10 (date of 2nd appointment) nobody called us to warn us that the technicians would be late, we had to call them when the window given had passed, and nobody had arrived or told us what was up. So I cancelled all of the services with Terminix, and called my bank to stop payment on the check I'd given them. I've sent Ring footage to Carlos Daley the regional manager of exactly when his technician arrived, along with text messages showing that he lied on the slips about his arrival times. Carlos called me on 12/17 and promised me that he would "take care of it". He did not, and I'm still getting emails and letters from Terminix telling me that I owe them 319.00 for a job that wasn't done. I'm going to the BBB now. Don't hire them. Go to Elite Pest Control instead. Cost 190.00 and they actually come in and do the job you're paying them for. read more

Zero Stars!!!! Stay away from Terminix and Jack Ikpe and Carlos (Manager)!!!! On Feb. 1, 2024, I was scheduled to have pest inspection completed for a VA home loan. Unfortunately, Mr. Jack Ikpe arrived. He called ahead of schedule and arrived promptly. I was told by Mr. Jack Ikpe that the inspection would cost $150 and he asked if I was aware. I said no, I didn't know the cost beforehand, however I am fine with the fee. Mr. Jack Ikpe completed the inspection and showed me photos on his tablet. The photos revealed termites in the crawl space in two locations, he had seen evidence of mice and a snake at some point. I was told the treatment would be $131.28 and they could treat termites the same day and I would receive a WRE report to send to the mortgage company. He contacted Carlos on his speaker phone. Carlos answered and asked if could schedule a treatment for the same day. Carlos also asked Jack, "Do you know the woman?, Do you know her?" Jack replied, no and continued to schedule the treatment. During the time Jack was in my home he never discussed the a contract or any fees. I was not aware that my card would be charged monthly nor the amount. I was under the impression it was a one time treatment. Mr. Jack Ikpe never, I repeat NEVER explained the process of the treatment and that I would be signing a contract, nor making two payments in March. One charged occurred for $47.34 and another charge for $83.91 or that when they would come back. I found out from another associate by calling the customer service number. However, he also suggested that I get the crawl space done and he gave me a price of 5k to have it completed. He had time to discuss a 5k job, but not to discuss the contract for the treatment. About an hour later, a technician arrived named Davon Lane and he explained that he would spread granules and put base stations in the ground. From my conversation with Mr. Jack Ikpe he never discussed a bundled protection plan or ongoing treatment. I later found this out from another Terminix associate who explained the charges and the process. I have called on 3/2 to file a complaint about the lack of information and the two charges. I was told I would receive a phone call on the 3/5 and the matter escalated, it would also take 48 hours to receive a phone call. I did not receive a phone call from anyone on 3/5. I called and talked to an associate on 3/5 and I was told someone would call. No one called. I called again twice on 3/6 and I was told the matter had been escalated and I would receive a phone call on 3/6. NO ONE HAS CALLED. I spoke with a representative and I was told that I would be charged if I terminate the contract. Well, considering the contract was never explained, I deserve a full refund without a fee. I called on 3/7 and was told the contract COULD NOT BE TERMINATED and we would be charged around $1300 for cancelling the contract. Finally, Carlos called and said that Jack did discuss the terms of the contract and they would not cancel the contract. I will never recommend, nor use Terminix of Largo, MD or the USA, nor Jack or Carlos to complete another service at my place of residence. The don't care about you and your home. By far one of the worst companies around. I really have no idea where to start, except to say do not use this local Terminix office. It will be a waste of your time and money. We contacted Terminix to treat for an active termite infestation. The surveyor who initially visited our house was woefully inexperienced and lacked proper training. Did not inspect termite damage that we mentioned we had, and came up with a generic plan that didn't even address our infestation. We explained many times where we saw termites and termite damage, but he did not look at it or make a note to treat those areas or inspect later. The technicians had a basic understanding of what they're trained to do, which is randomly lay out ineffective bait stations and randomly pump termite poison in/around the property. Their treatment did nothing to address our current infestation. We pointed out to multiple technicians that we had termite damage in several spots in our house, and that there were termite tubes in the crawl space. Not one of them even considered looking at any of this. Instead they randomly drilled into our floor and called it a day. We called about a dozen times to have someone look at the damage we pointed out since day one, but we either were passed along to someone else, disconnected, or told someone would call us back to schedule a follow-up visit. A technician did finally show up, but he only looked at our bait stations and left. Did not even consider looking at the other areas we pointed out since the initial inspection. We eventually had to call another local termite treatment company to treat our house. The new company did great, BTW. We used Bug Boys, and I recommend you look at them. While the guys did a great job on the installation, there were some damages as a result of the work. According to the contract, the damage should've been repaired free of charge. The guys had to climb through my closet to get to the attic. When they did this, a piece of sheet rock the lined the inner top frame of my closet was ripped off. There was also damage in the ceiling of the baby nursery. While walking around in the attic, the nails popped through the nursery ceiling leaving cracks along the sheet rock. The project supervisor came up and took pictures of the ceiling. He came out again with another person from Terminix a few days later. I was told they would send a contractor out the following week. He told me they would not be able to get to me until Monday. We went out Saturday and I received a text from a technician that said he would be there in 15 minutes. We were not available. He later sent me a text saying that he could be here between 8 and 10 a.m.. I said great! It is now 5:40 pm still haven't heard from him. I tried both numbers on the card of the first person that came and they are disconnected. I tried the technician but no answer. I call the company and and have been on hold over an hour. Our detached garage had some history of termite damage/infestation from years ago which was disclosed to us by the sellers when we bought our house three years ago. So when we saw some wood damage on a card table in the garage, we thought there might be a recurrence. We called Terminix and they sent a person out for a free inspection. To his credit, he was honest in telling us that the tables which had some wood damage was not the result of termites but more likely chewed on by rodents. He then went around the garage and found some termite damage in one of the beams. He said that we should get a protection plan for them and spun right into sales mode, pulling out a multi-page color brochure and going through a spiel. One red flag for me was the way they showed the costs was very designed to trick you into thinking the cost was lower than it really is, showing a number of "$299 down," and then some monthly cost but he said the protection was valid for 3 years but the monthly cost was for two. I had to press him and press him to give me a "total cost" which in the end was over $1600. I decided to get a second opinion and also research online the cost of some of the termite bait traps he said they would install in our back yard. The traps cost about $50/each on Amazon for anyone interested. We then had a technician from Innovative Pest Management come out and he said -- no termite problem at our house at all. The damage that the Terminix guy saw was not active, was very old, and was likely still protected by the treatment done in the past. Innovative charged $95 for the inspection but they saved me $1600, so I'll use them again. Trustworthy service = solid reputation. Whenever I've needed them for something specific, like bees or wasps, I can call and they'll come right out and spray. However, this particular post is about their customer service. I wasn't sure if I had an inspection today, so I called a number that was already in my phone. It rang to a young man named Wallen. I told him I was trying to found out if my inspection was today. He said that I wasn't on his list of clients for today and he was actually out on a job working. But he took the time to call in to see if my inspection was today. Ultimately, they harassed me with a letter that said if I do not pay I will get turned over to a collection agency and they will file against my credit report. Zero Star Rating I had a pest and termite problem at my home. I contacted Terminix to correct the problem. They came to my home and presented a comprehensive plan which included new insulation in some areas. The cost was expensive and I paid an initial payment of $1,920.04 for their services. The remainder amount was to be financed. I subsequently received the first bill from SMAC, the finance company, for $161.75. That was my first payment of many more to come. About a week later, I received another bill directly from Terminix for $134.27. I didn't understand what the 2nd bill was for, so I called Terminix. I was told by Carlos Daley, the manager, that the Terminix bill was for pest control services only. I told him I thought the SMAC bill was for all the services I agreed to. He stated no, the SMAC bill was only for the insulation, and there was a separate bill to be paid monthly for pest control services. I said that wasn't explained to me by the salesperson, and I told him I wanted to cancel the pest control services. He said that I would still owe the pest services even if I canceled because I signed the contract. He then emailed the contract to me and there to my surprise was my signature on that portion of the contract. I told him again the salesperson did not explain that to me at all. I had no idea there were two separate costs associated with the contract I signed. Below is a copy of the summary of charges from my actual contract. (I copied and pasted it into this email so the format is different.) Seeing the "Grand Total" dollar amount of $7,441.36, I assumed these costs were financed. That page was titled "Summary of Charges" showing the Grand Total. Curative treatment fee PREMIUM PEST AND TERMITE PLAN CURATIVE $400.00 $24.00 $0.00 $424.00 Initial Monthly Payment PREMIUM PEST AND TERMITE PLAN CURATIVEe $126.67 $7.60 $0.00 $134.27 Special Charges Attic Insulation $6493.48 $389.61 $0.00 $6883.09 Grand Total: $7441.36 I was totally shocked to learn that the Grand Total was not the full amount financed,and that I had more money to pay every month. This is in addition to the monthly amount of $161.75 financed. The contract I signed was 21 pages long. I signed it on a tablet, and only in two places. I am a senior citizen and feel Terminix took advantage of me - basically, they ripped me off. The lesson I learned is not to sign anything without reading every word. I wish I could give 0 stars. This was the worst experience I have ever had with an exterminator. They are completely unresponsive, randomly reschedule your appointments without notifying you, and do not show up to the appointments they do make - they have missed 3 appointments for me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They came out once (an hour late) and sprayed. It didn't get rid of any of the bugs. I called back and they said that I could get a free spray within 30 days if I still had an infestation. So I scheduled a new appointment. They never showed up. They rescheduled the appointment, but did not tell me the new date and time. I waited around for this second appointment, but they never came. Rescheduled a 3rd time, and they missed that appointment too. They are now telling me my 30 day window is over since they didn't show up to 3 separate appointments. And, to top it all off, I STILL HAVE BUGS. read more

This outfit is a total rip off! I had a number of pest control companies come out to get estimates. The Terminix people inspired confidence and made me feel like THEY would solve the problem....at TWICE what Orkin and others would charge. BUT, I though that if they did as promised, it would be worth it. It took THREE VISITS from their crew to do everything they claimed they would. One guy refused to use a ladder to get on the roof because he said that he was "afraid of heights" - ! Really? The first guy took measurements and you knew what you were getting into and now I don't get the coverage I was told because you won't use a ladder...great. When I was given a price, I told the guy I don't want to pay extra for financing - then I got a bill in the mail from a financing company ($MAC) with a financing charge!!!! AND my first payment didn't show up on the invoice!! When they tried to explain they went into this lengthy explanation of "exclusion" and "pest control"...pest control that included termites and other vermin. But I don't have termites and I only need ONE KIND of pest dealt with. BTW - this pest control is a "yearly" service where they charge $433 a year...for what? Pests that don't exist? So my initial payment just evaporates? I paid over $1,700 and it was a total rip off. Orkin, at half the cost, would have done just as much as these sly rip-off artists. Steer clear of them. They sound like a well run outfit, but they will rip you off for all they can get by using deceptive sales techniques. read more

BEWARE! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!! WE ARE GOING TO ORKIN! This branch is straight up fraudulent. They are taking advantage of the elderly. One of the "senior inspectors" at this branch came out to do work for my Grandparents and one of my Grandfather's checks was forged for $880 by this man. I'm sure they figured they got away with something or there was no one handling their (my Grandparents) finances. Terminex is all of a sudden doing financing for pest control but yet sent another bill for services rendered on that same day in my Grandmother's name for $560. That's $1,360.00 for one month of service?! Corporate has been contacted, the bank is investigating them and our lawyer is involved. This is a mess! HORRIBLE. Plus, it doesn't work. We paid $350 for initial service (mosquito and other bugs) and they had to come do two treatments in the first ten days and neither treatment made a difference. The mosquitos in particular seemed to actually get worse. We called customer service and a manager from this location (Largo) was supposed to call us to discuss the issue and schedule the return visit (second treatment). We did not receive a call and the technician just showed up unannounced at our home at 8:00 AM on Saturday morning. The second treatment made no additional impact on the mosquitos. We called again to finally cancel and the headquarters customer service tried to contact a local manager again and no one answered or responded (same as first call from headquarters to this location). We will be switching to another service even though Terminix offers to come out and repeat the service 88 million times (for free!) until it works. No thank you. read more

My sister called Terminex because they had a mice problem in her house in DC. The appointment was between 1-3 pm on9/11, a Saturday. At 5 pm when no one had shown up, she called the office and was told that the guy coming out had tried to call my sister but there was no answer. My sister had been sitting on her sofa waiting and seething because they didn't come. Finally, they showed up at 6pm. I was at my sister's house and asked about the Mosquito spray. I made an appointment for Tuesday between 1-5 pm. No one came or called. When I called the office the phone just rang. My sisters and I were speaking just saying how customer service is a thing of the past now. Eric Moore was the guy who made the appointment for me and when I called him, he was so nonchalant and unconcerned. DON'T BOTHER WITH THESE FOLKS. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. What bothers me the most is no one seems to care about an apology, THEY JUST DONT CARE.. I had to put at least one star, but they do not deserve it. PLEASE DON'T SEND ME AN APOLOGY NOW.
