I don't know what the staff/management does to make this such a stellar venue! Since moving to Atlanta last summer, I've been to a handful of shows here (Snakehips, Jai Wolf, Tchami, and Cashmere Cat) and each one has been a great experience. Although the venue is on the smaller side, I haven't had any problems with feeling extremely crowded - and this is coming from someone who is lowkey scared of crowded spaces l o l. Even then, you can easily shimmy your way to the back or to the upstairs deck to escape being covered by sweaty people. read more

What a hidden gem in Atlanta. Along W. Marrietta where the warehouse district is Terminal West. A very nice music venue. I was there tonight for the first time for the BMI Beat Summit. T.I. was a surprise guest and stayed for the entire set. Top producers Manny Fresh, DJ Toomp, and KLC were there battling it out. Epic Event! Don't miss the next one if you like Hip Hop that is. Security was present, along with beautiful bartenders. Parking is amble. They have their own parking garage. The music is loud and the space is plentiful. This could easily be a nightclub. VIP parking is gated off. You can go upstairs for a higher view and along the way step outside for fresh air and a view of the train tracks. The more I type about it, the more I love this place. Restrooms are clean but in the Mens, the toilets are waaay too close together. Tip: Go into one of the stalls. On the opposite side of the main entrance is a restaurant just through the double doors. This could also be a VIP area. This area has it's set of restrooms and a separate outside entry as well. The stage is big as well. There were about 100 people on it this night. It was a funfilled event and I am looking forward to the next event at Terminal West. read more

I like Terminal West a whole heck of a lot. The size is nice: intimate, not overwhelming. The sound was phenomenal. They've got a small balcony and a rad back patio along the train tracks. Also, three bars throughout the joint: impressive stuff. Drinks were strong, the bartenders were super friendly, and it was just a really nice, easy venue. Parking at King Plow can be a bit of a pain with all of the mysteriously reserved spots, but you shouldn't have any issues finding a spot across the street. This is a great addition to the live music/event scene in Atlanta, no doubt. read more

"I brought some old underwear to throw onstage at the Garth Brooks concert." -- The Big Bang Theory, Season 6, Episode 23 I love this concert venue for some many reasons, but mostly because they don't every over sell it. Sure it's small and intimate, but the acoustics are amazing and whether you are seeing a small bluegrass trio or a larger rock band, you still get the feel of being just you and the band - even if you are shoulder to shoulder with a stranger. Because a TW, everyone is there to enjoy the show. TW is part of the King Plow Arts Center complex and has a plethora of parking and is usually pretty cheap ($5) even when a big name band is playing. The venue itself is just a hop, skip and a jump from the lot and the ticket booth is a small window right next to the door. The process could not be easier (and yes, they scan tickets). Inside, is a large floor with some stools off to the sides, a couple of bars, nice bathrooms, and upstairs area (with a bar) with a balcony and a great vantage point for the stage. Ticket prices are always within a reasonable range that doesn't kill your wallet, which is a definite plus for me since I attend so many in a year. Drinks are strong and worth the price tag and this place is always spotless - this is the place to see your favorite group. read more

This is hands down my favorite place to catch a show in Atlanta. Terminal West sits in the King Plow Arts Center on the Westside just down the tracks from the mixed use mecca of dining, shopping, and residential that is the Howell Mill Provisions District. Parking is delightfully simple, affordable, and quick on both entrance and exit. There is a deck for those with credit cards, and a cash lot beside the deck and back to the second level where attendants charge $5 per car and provide validated parking for the gates on the way out. The will call is literally next to the front door and is simply the easiest way to ticket here. Show some id, get a wristband, and in you go. Inside, the facility is spacious and inviting. There is a large main floor, center stage, and two bars in the back corners. The rear of the venue has bathrooms on the main that are astonishingly clean and well maintained for a venue hosting so many revelers. Upstairs, there is an outdoor bar overlooking the railroad tracks and a small balcony inside where you have a central view down on the concert goers and stage. There are some highback tables in the back of the venue depending on the show and stools along the wall in case you need to grab a seat. Acoustics here are wonderful compared to most larger venues. Adjacent to the concert hall is a full length, hardwood floor eatery known as Stationside. Never fear showing at doors open again, because you can grab a table and some delicious bites and drinks while you wait for any of the acts to start. Food is surprisingly good and worth the trip. Prices very reasonable too. Terminal West is simply a wonderful way to experience some of the best up and coming indie and alt acts when they come through Atlanta. Prices for shows are super reasonable ($20-$30) and even sell-outs have enough room to spread out and enjoy yourself. Outstanding addition to the Atlanta Arts scene! read more

YES I declare! Victory for Atlanta! Terminal West is a really great venue- 5 stars I dare say. I went to Terminal West for a benefit concert so I didn't get an impression of the normal crowd but the venue itself was jam up. From what I can tell, they generally have DJ's and electronic music coming through here. The space is really modern and clean with a twist as there are pieces of the original train depot scattered throughout. The stage room is smallish allowing you to get up close and personal with your fave bands. There is additionally a balcony upstairs and space around back by the tracks. The staff is A+. All really nice, charming (not so bad looking) people who seem to love their jobs and like helping you have a good time. Terminal West is jumping on the canned beer phenomenon. They have a huge selection of unique beers in cans which I personally prefer so another job well done. There are three bars here and the bar tenders are speedy little men. If you get hungry, they serve complementary pretzels. Who doesn't love a free pretzel?! It took my friend and I a little while to actually find Terminal West. Its located right beside the Paul Mitchell School and doesn't stick out as a concert venue. There is a huge parking lot in front. Several of the spots have a reserved sign by them but I'm not sure if that applies at night. I've heard people say they felt like this was a sketch area, but I felt completely safe. I've already told basically everyone I know that if they are going to a show at Terminal West to invite me regardless of who the band is. Can't wait to get to another concert here. read more

Terminal West is truly the best music venue in Atlanta. The Tabernacle will always have a very special place in my heart, but Terminal West has stolen the title of best venue over the last year in my mind. I do live on the Westside, so as a fair disclaimer that certainly helps my opinion. But free & easy parking, great & reasonable drinks are just a few of the things that really stand out from other venues across the city. The interior design of the place is fantastic and you don't have massive bottlenecks of people when leaving or entering a show. The temperature inside is always nice, even over the middle of the summer during a packed out show. It's little thing like this that really add up for me compared to other venues. The real key to the venue though are the two elements that can really ruin any show. Sound and Staff. Terminal West gets perfect marks here, and I don't say that lightly. Great sound quality from any spot in the building. Friendly staff from the front door to the back bar. Three full service bars for such a small place? Just great. I'm not going to rip on other venues because I love seeing music all over the city, but if I had to pick a place for my favorite band to play, I have to say I'm picking Terminal West over all the rest. read more

Terminal West is such a lovely concert venue! I love the brick walls, cleanliness of the place (super clean bathrooms woohoo!), and the staff. I saw Tristan Prettyman & Anya Marina at Terminal West last night & I left very impressed with the venue. The bartenders were nice and friendly; their drinks were absolutely delicious especially the spicy watermelon margarita. I heard that the peach manhattan was amazing... will have to try that next time. Either I've become such a light weight or the bartenders were really heavy handed with the drinks lol There's plenty of parking and it's free! First and foremost, I am a metal guy. No, not a male, constructed of metallic objects, but rather a punk/metal genre enthusiast if you will. Terminal West is just TOO NICE for such shows. When the bathrooms at a musak venue are nicer than most upscale restaurants, then you know that bands like Iron Reagan or Napalm Death have no business playing here. This is not a negative review of the establishment in any way, shape, nor form, but rather a statement that promoters should maybe match their demographic a little better in the future. For instance: When hosting a grind/metal show, the venue should prahhhhhhhhhbably not post "NO STAGE DIVING" signs for everyone to see. What do you suppose happened next? You got it... I grabbed a beer. Terminal West is a really nice place, but it doesn't fit my expectations for the various rock/metal shows I've seen there. I don't want to HAVE to care about the place, and Terminal West is like a new pair shoes that you don't want to get dirty. At SOME point, they are going to get trashed, and throw up on your girlfriend and a mosh-pit is going to happen...? I'd dig the feel if I were here to see Barry Manilow, or maybe a comedy show featuring Eric Idle. Metal, this place is not. TOO DAMNED CLEAN! ;) read more

Easily one of my favorite venues. No smoking inside and if you arrive at doors 9/10 they have food still being served. Drinks are at a fair price and free water through the night if you get thirsty which is amazing. (Vs other clubs) The staff easily makes up for the lack of production. Very clean very well kept. Would recommend this place to everyone. Another huge reason I'm giving this place 5 stars is the fact it's not a drug den. And the crowd that shows up at these events have all been amazing as well. As a devoted fan of the Atlanta music scene, Terminal West is hands down my favorite venue. I've experienced some of the best shows here - Caribou, Strfkr, Laura Marling, FKA Twigs, etc. etc. The list goes on. The acoustics and the lights are on point, and the staff really know how to make each concert experience special. Stationside next door is open for lunch and at nights when there are shows, so it's super convenient to grab a bite to eat if you're hungry before a show. Another + is the bathroom. I love my dive bars and venues, but I've grown to appreciate the rarity that is clean public restrooms. Lastly, ticketfly. I am a million times happier when using ticketfly.....I hate you, ticketmaster. TY t-west for being the best venue in Atlanta. read more

I recently went to Terminal West for the first time to see the Father John Misty show. The venue was great, and as one reviewer pointed out, the parking was free and plentiful. However, I think the true test of any venue is how it treats the attendees, and I have to say that the service I received there made it a five star venue in my eyes. While I was there, I had a major blood sugar crash and passed out, the response from security was amazing. First of all, they recognized the fact that I was sick and not drunk or high, and responded beautifully. I was there alone (I often attend concerts solo) and they did a magnificent job of making sure I was okay, helping me get better, and watching over me until help arrived. I really can't say enough about the responsiveness of the security team and the way they managed, what was for me, a very frightening situation. read more

I'm putting Terminal West at 4-stars. One thing I come to appreciate with music venues is the ability to enjoy myself without bumping into someone and vice-versa. You catch the wrong show, it can turn into a mosh pit and with the limited space on the floor, you could become part of it. Other than that, Terminal West throws sensational shows. Security is awesome, the bar is quick and abundant, good stage setup (lights, acoustics, audio equipment) and good location. Parking will cost you, but as always, I don't suggest driving. read more

GREAT live music venue. Smaller than many, but very good sound and easy to get to bars, bathrooms, and food. EXCELLENT layout with the feel of an old train building and the sound of a modern music hall. Drinks were generous and reasonably priced. I saw a band called Green River Ordinance here and they sounded amazing. They did final few songs in the crowd, which helped make this an intimate venue and ONE OF THE BEST in ATLANTA. I'll admit, I've only seen one show here, but this venue was so impressive. Located at Terminal West, this space allows for a more intimate concert-viewing experience. There really isn't any place to sit, with the exception of a bench seat near the sound board -- at least that is what it looked like. There is an attached restaurant, which is great. Gone are the days of catching dinner elsewhere and then rushing over to make sure we haven't missed anything. This way, we can wonder in and out of the restaurant, grab a bite to eat and a drink prior to the show (or during) and just sit back and enjoy. The stage is also elevated to a height where I did not have a difficult time seeing as long as tall folks weren't directly in front of me. That's a major plus for a shorty like me. Also, I was told there was a back patio off of the upstairs balcony. I saw it, but I didn't get a chance to check it out. I look forward to going back to a show real soon and exploring a bit more. This is my new favorite music venue in the Atlanta area. I've seen two shows here in the last couple of months: Ruby Velle & the Soulphonics and Kurt Vile, and I've already bought tickets for the 'Black Joe Lewis' and 'Pinback' shows. Both times I've been blown away by the extremely high production value of the whole place and the attention to detail that really takes the concert experience here to the next level. The interior is absolutely beautiful rustic industrial, with lots of rough wood and rusty patina expertly illuminated via a highly nuanced lighting design. The layout is very user-friendly and they've just opened a little cafe right off of the performance space, 'Stationside', which was putting out truly delectable-looking plates before the Kurt Vile show. I definitely want to get a taste there before the next show I'm really pumped about: "Black Joe Lewis" on 9/8 (soooo funky--I lost my fucking mind in front of these guys at 420fest earlier this year). Two bars on either side of the main space + one small satellite bar upstairs overlooking the trains tracks all serve an extremely well-curated selection of the finest canned beers available. Not 4-5 beers craft beers--more like 20. Seriously, as someone that has strong opinions about beer and good music, this place really hits all the walls for me. The SN Torpedo tallboy @ $7 and the Dale's Pale Ale deuce-deuce @ $9 will keep your vibe rolling strong all the way through those epic instrumental freakouts. So yeah, I can't really say enough about this place; from the acts they book, to the atmosphere, the food, the tasteful booze, the swankiness--my new favorite for sure. read more

I am truly enchanted with this intimate and unique venue. I came on a Sunday evening to see Vanessa Carlton play her rescheduled show with Patrick Sweany. First of all, I give the Terminal West team props for quickly responding to my email when I reached out to them to inquire about using my original tickets for the new date. Alan Sher promptly re-issued my ticket and could not have been more helpful! I had been to the King Plow Arts Center before for an event, but never to the Terminal West building. I was less than thrilled to discover the new parking structure for the complex which forces you to pay $5 for 90+ minutes of parking. When we walked into the concert space, I was pretty surprised to see rows of cushioned wooden folding chairs. I wasn't expecting seating for a general admission show. My concert buddy Kelsey F. informed me that when she had come before, the chairs had not been set up. So I assume the chairs aren't standard for all events. It was nice to have this seating option, however, for this more chill and low key concert. My favorite part of the dimly lit space was the distinctive railroad theme. The railroad track prints on the walls, the wheels and gears hanging above the bar, oh yeah and the soundtrack of the actual train passing by on the neighboring track. That threw me for a loop when I first heard the loud rumble of the engine passing by behind us. Construction on a Sunday evening? was my initial thought. Kelsey promptly explained that it was just the train. Super casual. Very different and kind of cool, but I imagine it might be rather distracting to performers. I love that the hall is small and cozy so no matter where you are in the room, you are pretty up close and personal with the performers. I can see where the space might get a bit tight with a more crowded show, but it was absolutely perfect for accommodating the 60 or so people in attendance at this show. We did not have the opportunity to check out the new Stationside restaurant that is connected to the concert hall, but it looked like the patrons were enjoying it. We had looked up the hours on their Facebook page before the concert and saw that it was only open from 11:00am-2:00pm during the week. But upon further investigation on their official website (after the fact), I learned that they open on concert dates in conjunction with the time that the doors open. I love that they have this convenient dining option and will definitely bear that in mind for future concerts (because I fully intend to return). I've been to a handful of concerts over the years, and there have been a few where I am pretty over the show by the time the encore rolls around. But at this particular Vanessa show, I was absolutely devastated when she announced that she was playing her final song. That's probably more a testament to the artist than the venue, but it's saying something that Terminal West brings in these types of amazing performances. read more

Straight up, best venue for electronic and live music. Here are the following characteristics that makes this venue the top three in Atlanta (others being Gold Room and The Tabernacle): 1. Well-ventilated 2. Free water 3. Nice patio area besides the train railway. Gives the venue a nice character. 4. Top-notch sound 5. Most importantly, you feel super-intimate with the performers on stage. It's nothing like other major venues where the artist feels far away. Haven't experienced any negatives yet. My review's going to be a little different than most. I went to Terminal West for my company's holiday party instead of a musical concert - we have 480 people in the company (plus spouses and SOs), so a big venue was a must. Anyway, our party planning committee managed to book the uber trendy Terminal West space for the evening shindig and I was stoked to get to check it out. When my boyfriend and I arrived, a helpful security guard directed us to the correct parking lot (there's a number of them to hold the influx of people for the Paul Mitchell Hair School, the makeup school, the photography school, Terminal West and the King and Plow Arts Center, which are all right next to each other). As we pulled into the paid lot, we witnessed a small blue Mazda get its wires crossed and try to drive up the sidewalk instead of into the lot, which was an amusing start to the night. Once we walked inside Terminal West, I was impressed with the size and ambiance of the space: cavernous, subtly lit by cool hanging lamps, a DJ already up on the main stage spinning tunes, two bars on opposite walls of the space, and a large doorway leading into a side room where there was a third bar and all the buffet style food was set up plus tall tables and chairs around the room's edge for mingling. Great venue choice. While we were getting drinks at the bar, one of the many circulating staff came up to offer us sweet and sour chicken salad on crackers, then crab fritters and later mini beef wellingtons (very, very tasty). After we'd mingled and talked to some people we hit up some of the many buffet tables laid out in the side room. Here's what I tried a bit of: bbq beef brisket with corn mashed potatoes (yummy), a bite of my boyfriends's mac n cheese from the make your own mac n cheese bar (great idea to set up a DIY bar for dressing your mac n cheese), and dessert: chocolate tiramisu shooters, a bite of an espresso bar and bite of a cranberry orange bar. We didn't even get to the appetizer table that featured cheese and crackers, chicken tikka masala and rice and assorted veggies and dips. It was quite an impressive spread of food, and very tasty. Whoever did the catering was great. By the time we left we had a much improved knowledge of Terminal West and what a cool space it is. I would definitely come back if a musical act we like played there. The biggest problem we had was leaving the parking lot: the ticket machine was just not having the validated ticket we'd been given. After seemingly endless tries though, it finally decided it was ok (or just gave in knowing we'd not give up) and let us out. Terminal West is a cool venue. I went to a comedy show here recently and had a great time. Plenty of parking, good audio quality, and two bars. What more could you ask for? Word to the wise: if you hear that there is seating upstairs, do not be duped. The upper balcony is quite small and really only has room for a few seats. read more

Once I found the place, it was a good venue for a concert. Sound was excellent. Lighting was excellent. But, if you don't know in advance where it is, good luck. Use the address supplied on the website on your GPS, and it takes you past the entrance to the parking lot. Would it kill them to put up a clear sign that says "Terminal West Parking, Enter Here"? I'm not talking a tiny little sign. I'm talking a sign that you can actually see when driving down the street. It's like the folks running the place only want hipsters who've been there before to attend events. But, like I said, once I did finally find the place, it was a very nice little venue for up-and-coming acts who aren't ready for the big venues. read more

Pretty nice concert venue. We went and saw Marshall Ruffin (highly recommend you see him - incredible vocalist) and a jazz ensemble. The room was about the same size as masquerade and my guess is 4000 sq feet of viewing area. One thing that I liked about this venue is that they have a smoking area so that you can smoke if you want but can avoid it also during the show. There is not a ton of bartenders leading to some waits but the drinks were reasonably priced. They have some interesting shows so keep up with their lineup if your into finding some new / different musicians! read more

I went to Terminal West for a show last night and was highly impressed. I really liked the set up with Stationside being attached to the venue so you can grab a drink or something to eat before the show. I had a really good sandwich there and a 21st Amendment IPA from their extensive beer list. As far as the venue itself the acoustics were wonderful. I really like venues that allow you to be close to the artist this was definitely a plus. Also having two bars set up prevent a queue from building up and allows for you to focus your attention back where it belongs, on the artist performing. The staff there is also very friendly and helpful. Now that I've discovered TW I look forward to many future visits. read more

Terminal West at King Plow is a great concert space. I have been here several times for different shows and I've had a great time always. It's clean, there is ample FREE parking, and I believe the location on the west side of town helps to keep the clientele less douchey. The drink prices are reasonable, there is lots of room for dancing, and the venue (and bathrooms) are clean. If you get a chance to see a show here, do it! I also find the ticket prices to be very reasonable, especially as compared to some other (less cool and dirtier) venues in the city. read more

I went to see Civil Twilight here last weekend and was really impressed. This was my first time here (since I don't currently live in Atlanta) but I'm going to make it a point to try to catch more shows when I'm back in town. I agree with everyone else that says this is the perfect mid-sized venue. The sound was great and I appreciated the fact that they had some tables and chairs for those that might need a break from standing. However, they could put a few more out there, maybe along the sides as well? I also like the fact that they have a balcony upstairs though they had it closed off when I was there since it was a pretty small crowd there that night. However, being the shorty I am, that'll be where you'll find me the next time I come for a show. I liked that they offer covered parking right next door. I didn't mind paying the $5 especially since it was super chilly that night. Luckily, the machine takes credit cards so you don't have to worry about having cash on you. The only slight negative I can think of was that I was charged two differnt amounts for the same drink. Maybe it worked in my benefit and I was undercharged for one of my drinks but inconsistency is usually not a good thing. read more

We saw "Boy" play here a few weeks ago. The venue was cool - it used to be a plant that manufactured plows for the King Plow company, and though it looks much more sleek now, you can see some of the aspects that they've kept in place. They have food at the venue (sort of attached next door), but one perk of this place is that it's pretty close to a bunch of great West Midtown restaurants - awesome for grabbing a great dinner before the show. We're headed back to see Kate Nash next week - (and stop at Optimist before hand) - looking forward to going back! read more

Great venue! I went here to see FIATFV in June 2019, and it's a good-sized venue. While it isn't very easy to see if you don't know where it is, and also not in the greatest part of town, it's a good venue for what it is. Standing space for a few hundred people and a good bar from what my mom said. You can also go on to the roof and still be able to hear the music or just hang around if you're not there for the band/artist. read more

Hands down my favorite Atlanta music venue. I've been coming here for several years now and have never been disappointed. Food variety is decent and tasty. Sound quality is always great. Not a bad spot in the house to enjoy the show, either up front by the stage, or in the balcony. Dual bars keep the concert goers hydrated. The industrial feel of the King Plow center is pretty special. In good weather, you can also enjoy the upstairs outside area to watch a train, or just chill out. Parking is easy, either in the lot or in the deck. If you haven't been, what are you waiting for? (well, OK, Covid-19) but get there as soon as you can. The atmosphere is very clean and up to date. The food is amazing! Whole food seems to be the theme. REAL food with plenty of love and skill! I am seldom impressed as I am a 20 veteran in the food industry and have worked beside some very talented people. This place has "The Right Stuff" for sure! I was also very pleased at the array of hot sauces...which I had about 7 or 8 of them..all yummy! Highly recommend the Korean Kimchi sandwich. ..to die for! Also the tots to go with. Saw Vintage Trouble here on Oct. 25. I was in from out of town, and had never been here before. Incredible venue, friendly staff, great beer selection.
